BeX Analyzer 7.0 dynamic formatting

Hello,
we have the BeX Analyzer 7.0 and want to format the workbook like highliting the Characteristic names. It is okay when the grid stay as during the formatting. But if someone will change the view by adding anothe characteristic the formatting is lost.
Is there any way formatting it dynamically.
And is there any way for many sheets with a lot of data providers refresh the queries seperatly?
I hope that anyone can help me.
Kind regards, Manuela

Hello all,
In order to keep changes in workbook you must deselect the settings in query designer on query properties display tab "Adjust formatting after refresh".
Then you set changes to workbook - for example, if you want to set style for hierarchy you must set cursor on a any cell with hierarchy nodes (same for filters or any other element), and then go to excel menu Format -> Styles. Here you will get SAPBex* style depending on a cell on which you are positioned. You can go to modify and change the layout.
After changing styles, you can go to workbook settings, themes tab, make a new theme, and press button "Apply" to update theme from a workbook. Then press Save to save a theme. After saving theme you must select settings "Apply New Styles" on the same tab.
Save the workbook, pressing save on Bex toolbar.
Now the changes should not be lost
Hope this helps

  • BEx Analyzer 7.0 formatting

    Hi Experts,
I have an issue when creating workbooks in BEx Analyzer 7.0.
Most of the times when I include a query in the workbook (with the Analysis Table) everything is fine with the formatting. But for some queries the formatting in BEx Analyzer does not work, and I get a table without any default formatting. The formatting I am talking about is the default formatting which is achieved by setting the tick mark for "Transfer formatting" in the Analysis Table.
Does anyone know what could be the issue here ?
    Thanks Mikkel

    Hi all,
Found the solution myself. There is a tick mark in the query designer called "Adjust formatting after refresh" which was not set for the queries that did not work.
    Thanks Mikkel

  • Problems with dynamic data slices and BEx Analyzer

    Hello experts,
we use a data slice to lock released data.
This data slice contains an exit-variable which selects all plan that are already released out of a ABAP dictionary table.
The user can release data via planning function. He can start this function with a button in a BEx workbook.
He use the same workbook for insert planning data.
    the problem is:
when a user releases data, the value of the exit variable in our data slice changes but the data slice 9999 seems to be NOT generated with the new value. the reuslt is, that the user can still change released data.
the data slice is just new generated after logout and login again not after refresh the query.
Is there a possibility to force the system to generate data slice 9999 with the actual value of the exit variable? maybe a function module or method?
We have this problem just in BEx Analyzer. In Web Reporting everything works fine and the data is locked by the data slice after refresh.
    Thank you
    Johannes

    Hallo Johannes,
if you want to have this kind of behaviour you need to go for a data slice of type exit. You will find some information about this in the Planning forum.
The data slice is instantiated once, but when you release the data you need to call a method in your exit data slice which rereads the values. This is a rough idea how this could be done.

  • BEx Analyzer - dynamic  charts

    Environment: BW 3.5
    Hi all together,
I have a query with the following presentation hierarchy: top level are the continents and second level are the countries belonging to the specific continents.
Now I want to display the results in a chart as follows:
If the countries are hidden and only the continents are visible, then the results of the continents should be displayed in the chart. If I show the countries to one continent then I´d like to see in the chart only the values for the countries of this specific continent.
Is this possible with standard tool in BW or do I have to use VBA coding in Excel?
    Thanks for help.
    Greetings Anja

It is possible to do the charts in the BEX Analyzer.  For this you should have BI 7.0 with SP 13 and the configuration of BEX Analyzer to BI system.
If u give me u r mail id i will send some documents.

  • How to save BI report into normal excel sheet in Bex Analyzer

    Hi Experts,
    version of  Bex Analyzer:
    Bi addon 7.x
    support package 7,patch 1
    version 7004.4.0.5
    excel-2003
when i am trying to save the report into excel in Bex Analyzer as below:
    file-save as->Microsoft excel work.
when I open excel I am getting pop up windowu201Dthis file contains macros  with an expired or revoked signature.Since your running under  high security level, these macros will be disabled.u201D
when I click ok I am getting one more pop upwindow as u201Cmacros  are diabled because the security level is set to high and a digitally signed trusted certificate is not attached to macros.to run the macros, change the security level to a lower setting(not recommended),or request the macros signed by the author  using a certificate  issued by a certificate authority.
what are these macros? why i am getting this pop up windows
When i opened  the excel report is not looks like general excel report.how can I generate general excel report .I should not want to get excel report as in bex analyzer.I donu2019t want to have author ,status of data, chart, filter, information in excel report.
what settings I have to made to save the report in general excel format.
As i am new to Bi please correct me if i am wrong.
    Anything is appreciable.
    regards,
    naresh.

Macros in general are nothing but piece of code in excel.
To allow unsigned macros to run, the Trust all installed add-ins and templates check box must be selected on the Trusted Publishers tab of the Security dialog box. This option is selected by default. If it is not selected (recommended), Excel allows you to run only macros that have trusted digital signatures.
    1. On the Tools menu, point to Macro, and then click Security.
    2. On the Trusted Publishers tab, select the Trust all installed add-ins and templates check box.

  • BEx Analyzer: Formula Variable with Replacement path change Month with Day

Hi experts I'm facing this issue in BEx Analyzer.
I need to have some dates in format DD/MM/YYYY in Index Structure, in order to do this I've created a formula variable with replacement path referenced to 0CALDAY characteristic.
The formula works but it behaves in a strange way:
if the day is higher than 12 the displaied result is correct (DD/MM/YYYY)
if the day is lower or equal 12 the displaied result is wrong (MM/DD/YYYY)
    I'm on BW 7.01 SP6 and BEx Analyzer 7.10 SP12, excel 2007.
anybody has faced this issue before?
    any help will be appreciated
    Daniele Cortopassi

    Hi Daniele,
This seems pretty strange. Pls. redo validation with the dump data, as being a flat struture BEx does not apply any logic changes. May be it might have been MM/DD/YYYY format as in workbooks. Else you may change the property of 0calday display as "Text". Business Explorer > Display > KeyMaster Data/Texts > Texts (Plese check this option). If you are using some text table you may maintain the same using BI0/TCALDAY (Similar to BI0/TCALMONTH2). Guess it should be an excel based issue; if not you may try the same in WAD/Report designer to verify the nature of the issue. If you don't face these inconsistencies in WAD/RD then you may change excel formatting options. Lastly, please let us know if the infoobject has some predefined settings in RSA1 > Infoobject > (BEx) Properites.

  • Urgent:- BEx Analyzer Workbook as an iView in the Portal

    Hi,
Can somebody please tell is it possible to create BEx Analyzer Workbook as an iView in the Portal?
If it is possible, how to create the iView?
    Please help.

    Hi Nikesh,
The question relates much more to analysing queries.
BEx Designer and WAD are for designing queries, output of which can be seen in BEx AnalyserWorkbook. These are used for analysing the data with some test data entered by user.
But if we want them to be seen as a portal iview report we need to use BEx WebApplication Designer iview as we generally user for WAD n BEx.
Use the Version of the BEx Appl as BW or BI and then give  propeties like system name,BEx Query,Appl parameters.
We need to see tht these queries in the same compatible format as with portal.
Please note "BExquery" must be the one which generates your reports.
I am not sure whether i could answer you but hope my idea is clear.
    Thanks and regards,
    Shaila

  • Front-end memory and limitation cells of the BEX Analyzer

    Hi BI experts,
After BW upgrade from BI 7.3 to BI 7.4 some heavy workbooks stopping to work, the error is "Client Out of Memory", the cause of this error is the memory capacity of .NET framework, this process can allocate a maximum of approximately 1.2 gigabytes (GB).
The notes 1040454 and 1411545 says that it´s possible to execute something like 750,000 cells but we made some adjusts and we could increase it until 1,800,000 cells, below some configuration we´ve made:
    Query Designer:
    Result Rows Always
    Supress;
    Display as Text or key;
Supress Zeros as Active (All Values = 0) and Effect on rows and columns.
    Bex Analyzer:
    Display Sort Icons Disable;
    Apply formating Disable;
    Allow navegation Disable;
We need some orientation how to further increase this limitation, or leaving the query lighter or increasing the memory limitation of .net framework or backing to BEX 3.5 funcionalities.
Has anyone encountered such problems in the update? Some alternative solution ?
    Thanks !

    Hello Caio,
The limitation lies on .Net Framework 32 bits which can handle 1.2 gigabytes.
You are reaching 1.8 Million because your datacells has no data or almost no data.
There is a KBA documenting your issue: SAP Note 1860872
There you will find a recommendation of Openhub, that allows you to extract data.
Just remember that BEx Analyzer is a tool for query navigation, not mass data extraction.

  • Error when launching BEx analyzer from Portals

    BI Gurus...
We are working on an initiative to migrate our user interface from SAP GUI to Enterprise Portal.
Bex Analyzer is primary mode of reporting at this time.
After importing the Roles into EP, I am able to execute the web queries successfully, in the BEx Wen analyzer. But, I get an error when I click on any of the excel workbooks. Our expectation was that once we click on the excel workbook name, the BEx analyzer will launch from EP. But it seems like the issue is with launching BEx Analyzer from BI Portal.
Has anyone faced this issue before?
Is it possible to launch BEx Analyzer from EP?
Are their some key portal settings we have missed out on to enable launching BEx analyzer from EP?
    Please provide your thoughts/experience.
    Thanks,
    Ajay.

    Hi WernerS,
    Thanks for your response.
The RRMXP Transaction works and it launching the BEx Analyzer as expected.
Now, as per our research, I think there are 2 ways of launching BEx analyzer from BI Portals.
    1) Call via a URL
You can call BEx Analyzer via the following URL: http(s)://<server:port>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/rsr_bex_launch/bexanalyzerportalwrapper.htm
You can modify the URL to open BEx Analyzer with either a workbook, a query or a query view. You can use the following parameters to do this:
    ●      Parameter to open the workbook: ?WBID=<wb_id>
I have tried calling via URL iView, but instead of launching the BEx Analyzer, it just throws a dialog box to "save" or "open" a file, RRMX.bex. When I try to open this file, it says "Invalid File Format".
I tried opening the file in notepad and I see the following parameters passed.
               test
               Data=BX2,CONAJP,EN,mikoyan,17,,,250,
               9
Any clue about what I am doing wrong?
    2) Calling via a Transaction
You can generate BEx Analyzer in Portal Content Studio as an SAP Transaction iView.
The iViews are of type SAP Transaction iView and have the code link com.sap.portal.app integrator.sap.Transaction.
The most important properties are System, Transaction Code (TCODE) and ApplicationParameter.
    ●      The Transaction Code for all workbooks is RRMXP.
    ●      The ApplicationParameter property contains the value WBID=<WORKBOOK_ID>.
I have tried this approach as well. When I open this iView, I see the RRMXP transaction in the Internet explorer, but the workbooks still does not open in the BEx Analyzer (Excel)
Any thoughts on where am I going wrong ?
    Thanks,
    Ajay.

  • Text characters displayed as # on Bex analyzer (excel)

    Hi all,
I am having issues with Turkish Charaters displayed on the report output on Bex analyser.
The Turkish text characters in the fields like Name 1, Name 2, city are displayed in # format.
This is happening only when the report is executed on Bex analyzer (excel). In BW system I can see the turkish characters properly. There is no # symbol anywhere when i check in cube or master data.
The # sign is not shown when the query is executed on internet explorer(web report). This issue is only with Bex analyzer(excel).
Some sample data is as below.
Correct data in BW cube or master data: ÜCRETLI ÜRETICISI TÜ
The same is displayed when executed the report over web.
But when executed on BEX analyzer(Excel) it shows as: #CRETLI #RETICISI T#
This was not happening last month. I was able to see the turkish characters last month properly on BEX analyzer.
Now we are having this # issue.
Can anyone suggest what could be the problem with? and how we can rectify this?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Maddy,
I also think it is a front-end issue.
The texts look fine in RSA1 and in Web Analyzer.
The problem with the codepage variable is that as far as i know it can have only one value.
On my report I have a list of purchase orders with the vendors.
The vendors come form different countries and are maintained by the country's affiliate in their native language.
The user needs to see the texts for all displayed vendors regardless the language and alphabet.
Right now I have probelms with Greek, Bulgarian and Serbian.
But next month the report may contain the vendors from other countries.
Therefore I would have to add all languages to codepage variable.
In fact in my system it doesn't even work for one value.
I also added other languages to windows regional settings but it didn't help.
Do you have any tips on that?
    Thanks,
    Marek

  • Using Bex Analyzer via internet

    Hello experts,
I have BW 3.5 and do not have portal. I want users travelling in various locations to access / run queries via internet. Some queries are static (updated once a day) and some are dynamic (structure updated every 15 min). What all steps do I take to acheive this?
Any help would be rewarded with points.
    Thanks
    UV

    Hi UV,
Ok..Here are the steps to create a simple web report:
    1. Create a quesry on your cube. Goto bex analyzer and just drag and drop a few chars in the rows and columns sections and save.
    2. Now goto start -> programs -> business explorer -> web application designer.
    3. In the WAD drag and drop table web item (you would find lots of them like table, chart, etc..) to the rightr hand side.
    4. Now below the web items you would find the properties tab. Now in the properties for the table select the query that you created. Save.
    5. There is a button in WAD to execute the report in browser. Execute and check.
    Bye

  • BEx Analyzer - Convert to formula - Dynamics of a hierarchy

    Hi BI-Experts,
I have a question regarding the BEx Analyzer built in functionality "convert to formula".
Once I have done this, the report is more ore less static, establishing a fixed link between the cell and the query result.
    (BExGetData(u201CDATA_PROVIDER_1u201D,F8,E10)
Let's say I had included a G/L account hierarchy and converted the analysis grid item to formulas: I will lose drill down functionality of the hierarchy, drag & drop etc.. I can live with that.
But what happens, if I update the G/L hierarchy in BI by uploading from ECC and someone added an additional text node and 3 new G/L accounts. They won't appear in my "convert to formula" report, even when refreshing, right?
Does anyone know a work-around for a highly formatted report in BEx Analyzer which keeps the layout when refreshed (only way I know is with "convert to formula") AND using hierarchies which should be able being updated?
    Every hint is much appreciated!
    Kind Regards,
    Steffen Lange

Thats right, as now the key figure values are basic excel formulas though they refer your dataprovider.
The only option is to update the value of the hierarchy (new nodes etc) in the workbook too, you can add a new row and insert the new hierarchy value it should pick it up and key figures populated accordingly (you may need to put right row column value for your key figure calculation formula).

  • Bex Mihration Issue while comparing the results of Bex analyzer

    Dear Experts,
Currenlty i am working on a Bex migration project and we are still in the research and analysis phase. We have been migrating some queries and workbooks in sandbox for analysing the final approach we would be following eventually. For migration we first make a copy of the query and then migrate the copy to the 7.0 version. So after migration the formats in the report generated by Bex analyzer 7.0 of the migrated query and the one generated  by Bex analyzer 3.x of the orignal query are quite different.
Can you help me figure out the reason behind this difference in the formats and how to go about it.
    regards,

  • Bex Analyzer Filter 0CALDAY problem

    Hello,
We having a problem in our BEX Analyzer, when we are filtering the characteristic 0CALDAY with a interval range based in the last days of a month (Example from 21.03.2014 to 25.03.2014), the Analyzer shows the messsage error "For characteristic 0CALDAY, enter value in a permitted format". But if we put the range 01.03.2014 to 20.03.2014, the Query executes without problem.
The same occurs with other months either.
    Examples:
    Report:
    Filter range 01.03.2014 to 20.03.2014:
Filter range 21.03.2014 to 25.03.2014 (PROBLEM):
The same filter, but in single values format:
Could anyone help me to solve this problem?

  • Wrong Currency shown in Bex Analyzer / SFr. Symbole in Excel

    Hi Experts,
Hi have a question regarding the display of currency in Bex Analyzer.
I have a report showing Euro in the most of columns and one column should shown usd. The conversion is done in the backend.
By running the report the column which should show USD show SFr. (Not a currency).
In Excel i checked in format cell--currency. There SFr. is define as Symbole. It is a general problem. How to solve it?
    Thanks
    Gilo

    Hi Andrey,
    thank you for replying.
Have you added IO currency to rows ?
--  Other Columns with Euro are showing the correct currency.
Does your conversion work correct ?
    -- Yes
If you execute the report in bex query designer (via web) do you get correct results ? i can not execute via web.
I execute in rsrt and the column is showing the result with $. I expected to see USD.
    1. why is bex showing the wrong currency?
    2. why is the result under rsrt with $ instead of USD?
    Thanks
