BI Publisher - Automatic History clearance

Does anybody have an idea about the automatic history clearance in BI Publisher.
We have a large number of reports getting generated daily and hence the history becomes full quickly. As a consequence the mails fail to get delivered.
It will be great if anybody can suggest a solution.

BIP10g does not provide a mechanism to automatically purge data from tables. The tables are not even partitioned at all. Consider taking a back up of your current schema and reinstall a new one as workaround.

Variations - how to make page get published automatically ?

Hello guys,
I am working with multi-lingual publishing site (English and Arabic).
I have created Variations and set automatic creation of page of English
Version to Arabic Version.
Issue : When English Version Page is created and Published,
Arabic Version is also created but Arabic Version of page is in checkout mode and it is not published.
I want to make all arabic versions of the page in publish mode.
Is there any configuration or something so all the pages of arabic gets published automatically whenever it gets created ?

What happened to the option for a dialog box upon closing that allowed for modifying the automatic history clearing options, and how do I get it back?

I no longer find this option in the privacy settings under the Tools/Options menu. Is there a setting I can modify in the config file to reactivate this function?

As I remember, that pop-up box disappeared after Firefox 3.5, as well ask the "Ask me before clearing..." option check box. The items are now automatically cleared that you have selected in ''Firefox button > Options > Options (or Tools > Options) > Privacy > [x] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings''

Responses: Can I publish automatically?

Any way to connect my Adobe Form "Responses (field)" as a rows in my web page? (all visitors could see that "Responses" in rows, published). Thanks.

We are actively working on providing email receipts and that feature should be available in a month or two. We currently don't have any plans to expose the data to you so you can populate a field on your website.

that is lot should be created and wait in quality inspection for some
defined time and the should be cleared automatically without any manual
intervention.

As per my understanding for such materials in the material master QM -view in the inspection setup...........for the inspection type -01 (Goods receipt insp. for purchase order) uncheck the check box post to inspection stock ......then the inspection lot will not be created on GR & the stock will be moved to unrestricted use directly......

Content Server - Publish to Directory Feature

Is there anyway to automatically publish content items to a folder in the Knowledge Directory in addition to the publishing target within Content Server? I see that you can rclick on individual "articles" and publish them to the KD. We just want that to happen automatically whenever an item is published.

The "reference" Content Item would use a Data Entry Template that had an item reference property, and a Presentation Template which just used the Insert tag on that item property, e.g. <pcs:insert expr="My_Item"></pcs:insert>.
Then you could create "reference" Content items that refered that item you want published multiple times, placing those "reference" Content items in a folder with a different publishing target. Thus when that "reference" item is published, it will effectively publish the item to which it refers to a different location. You could also employ the Related Item Publishing feature contained in the Data Entry Template in order to automate this somewhat, so that when one item is published the other is published automatically as well.
But this is all a bit of a hack and awkward. If you need to rely on identical published content existing in multiple places in a production setting, I still recommend using a file replication utility.

Best practices for including CSS on publishing

In order to have completely self-contained project folders, I have css in my project folder. I don't understand why you can include .js Scripts, and have them publish automatically yet you can't do the same for css scripts. This is truly baffling since css is at least as fundamental to an html project as js.
What I want is to be able to include a .css file in my project, so that when the project is published, the css file gets copied into the published folder along with the images and js. There's really no reason why images and js should be copied but not css. Also, this would include saving as a template.

Well the problem is not loading the CSS files. That can easily be done. The problem is using the local css file, and having that file COPIED to the publish folder. This is important because....
If you edit an image, the image will get copied on publish
If you edit a locally included .js file, the local verson will get copied on publish
If you make any edit to the project, the edits will show up in the published files.
If you make an edit to a local css file, it WILL NOT be copied on publish.
So if you have several existing example projects, and you open one up, make some changes and publish it to a new location, everything will be there EXCEPT the css. That is very odd behavior for an html5 creation app.
If there is possible interferance, that all the more reason to have Edge adding css to projects, so it can notice such interferances.

Safari 6: Remove History Items After One Day does nothing?

I don't like getting autocompletes from a million past sites, so I clear my history every so often. I prefer to do it manually, but Safari 6 deletes all the favicons--not just of the history but of your bookmarks too! Permanently. So I thought I'd try automatic history clearing instead: After One Day.
But three days later, the History menu still shows the full histories for the past 3 days.
Yet another bug I guess? Is this universal behavior?
I'm on Lion at the moment.

Might be corrupted Safari preference files... try this.
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Quit Safari.
Go to Home/Library/Caches/Safari and delete all the sub-folders within that one.
Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete any of these files you have there:
• Downloads.plist
• History.plist
• LastSession.plist
 Repair disk permissions...  
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.  Restart Safari

ICal publishes event before done editing

I have several calendars that publish to icalx.com. When I add a new event and start typing, ical publishes before I am done editing the event. Then I have to double-click or command-E to edit the event and finish it.
I have those calendars set to publish automatically, though if I can't solve this, I would change it back to manual to avoid the hassles...

Perhaps you've just updated your OS and now have the newer version of iCal which is ***** compared to the faster, more elegant older version. The older iCal presented every event's details in a ready to edit format just by clicking on the item in the calendar.
Now you have to double click that item you're interested in (one two) to get a window that shows you the item's details. Then, to edit, you must click the 'edit' button (three) upon which another editable window will allow your event details to be edited. Finally, after finishing your edits, you must click 'done' (four). Yes, that's right, 4 clicks to do what used to require only the initial click to specify which event you wanted to edit.
Four times as many clicks for a utility application that has no further improvements, only this annoying change from what was once a very efficient tool.
I do hope a future "update" will bring back the elegance of the older version with some true improvements.

Can I hybrid-publish to .Mac AND another host?

I have a site with a lot of video clips, and am rapidly approaching the 4mg max for .Mac. I love the convenience of using iWeb and publishing automatically, and would like to continue utilizing the ease of that without bothering with having to FTP it to an outside host site every day. So I’m thinking of creating a hybrid – does it sound like this will work?
I use the Blog or Video archetypes to create new entries, so that visitors can subscribe and be notified of new entries. What I would like to do is archive older video entries on an outside host – these would be pages that won’t be changing anymore, so I think I could just do an Archive page and “link to a webpage” for them without iWeb needing to reload anything every time I publish. A “Return” button would bring them back to the Archive page on my .Mac site.
Workable? Crazy? Any votes?

Automatic upgrade of the cover of a multi .folio App

Hi all,
I've just published the 2nd issue of a free Magazine inside a DPS Pro App.
I noticed that some other Magazines, for example Speak Up (I know they have a DPS Pro too), when the new issue of the magazine is published, automatically the new cover appear in the AppStore Preview.....look at the screen shot below.
The magazine I published just yesterday, still have the old cover.....
What I have to do to upgrade automatically the cover every time the new issue is uploaded?
The visualization in the Newsstand is correct and shows the cover of the last issue, as you can see in the 2nd screen shot.....

You need to change the folio status to "Public and Retail" from the folio producer dashboard. Setup it's corresponding non-consumable in-app purchase in iTunes connect and set a price tag folio the folio there. Then get the in-app putrchase approved from Apple.

"dxkbd.dat" - What is it.?

Anyone know if dxkbd.dat is a part of Adobe, if so What the #@$% is it.?
I find it in the registry Key = APPLIC~1\Adobe\Update\dxkbd.dat
under Hkey_Local_Machine\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32\Update\dxkbd.dat
And notified a new startup pgm has been detected that (I did not install) My personal home machine FYI.
And it keeps coming back automatically. I think it is a VIRUS that is not yet published.
History:
Deinstalled and removed folders for;
1 - Acrobat 8
2 PDF995
3 - Reader 9
4 - Adobe folder found in C:\DOCUME~1\username~1\APPLIC~1\Adobe\Update\dxkbd.dat
Then rebooting, this folder was found again in C:\DOCUME~1\username~1\APPLIC~1\Adobe\Update\ after startup, and again in the registry.
Multiple AVG scan are clean.

How do I configure weblogic 10.3 to eclipse[indigo]?
1.Change Eclipse memory settings by updating the properties of eclipse.ini file -Xmx768m -Xms256m
2.Make sure this configuration (-Dsun.lang.ClassLoader.allowArraySyntax=true) is there, if not add it and save the file.
3.Make sure you have configured your Weblogic server in "Development" mode. If node done, please change the configuration.
4.Start Eclipse
5.Go to Window -> Preferences -> Server -> Installed Runtimes -> Add
6.In the dialog "New Server Runtime", there is a link "Download additional server adapters". Click it, and Eclipse will search on the Internet for additional server adapters. When it's done, select “Oracle Web Logic Server Tools” (or more appropriate one, if you get one) and install it.
7.Alternate to step 5, you can add http://download.oracle.com/otn_software/oepe/galileo as updated site in Eclipse and install the Eclipse pack from Oracle.

I got the below response from Oracle support, and I'm trying to see where this Servers tab is. I see a servers tab in preference, but I don't think that's what they mean because there's no domain item.. Any idea?
Basically, OEPE connects to weblogic domain through admin server. When you create a new server in OEPE, you only choose domain instead of individual servers, and that server created maps to domain's admin server.
If you want to deploy the application developed in OEPE to managed servers or cluster, you could try the following:
1) browse to Servers tab
2) right click on the domain
3) choose 'Properties'
4) choose 'WebLogic' -> 'Publishing' -> 'Advanced'
5) move disired target from left to right

IWeb 2.0.2 - Media Unavailable To Viewers - requests they log into iDisk

Hello,
Encountered an annoyance to viewers of my web page published to a .mac account with iWeb 2.0.2. They log in just fine and the moment they go to view a page that has media files on it, it asks them the following:
'To view this movie, you need to log in to area "idisk.mac.com" on web.mac.com'
One one page in particular, this message is received before the page displays. On other pages it allows the page to download but when they try to access the media file, they get the same error above.
Please forgive my ignorance but any assistance anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks...

When you are publishing to .Mac, if the media files are dragged into iWeb they should be published automatically. Make sure you do a "Publish all to .Mac" and empty your browser cache before visiting your site.
To find out if they are included in your site, publish to a folder on your desktop and look to see if the media files are present in the Media folder. You can add them to this folder and publish manually by going to Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites/Website Folder and dragging the Media folder in.
If you are publishing to server other than .Mac, make sure you have uploaded the Media folder and that it is in the correct place on your server.

What do you mean by Automatic customer clearance? Customers are knocked off by Payment receipts.. Do you mean to say that you want to enter your Bank receipts and the clear Customers automatically in F.13?
If this is the case, you need to make sure which field is getting populated in SD billing Document in Customer line items and you should ensure while posting bank receipts that you capture the same in Customer Credit line item and then define that field in OB74 as a clearing criteria along with WMBTR (Amount)
I agree with Sanil, that with the help of SD consultant(Copy Control Functions), you can populate the Billing document No. in the Customer line item while posting billing document in SD. It depends on which field you want to use to populate the billing Document No.
