BI Publisher on IIS

Hi,
Our OBIEE platform is running on IIS Instance. let me know whether we can configure the BIpublisher using IIS or we need OC4J???

BI Publisher is a J2EE application and therefore it needs a J2EE server. So you need OC4J to deploy BIP onto it.
OC4J also comes with an HTTP module which will handle the http requests but if you want IIS to handle the
http requests then you can do so but would need the proxy plug in, it is explained in the documentation.

  • Can I publish captivate 7 to IIS 7 webserver?

    I currently use UPK (oracle based tool) to deliver the eLearning content to end users which is published onto IIS 7 web server.
    I want to switch to Captivate 7 to deliver this content but I am unsure if I will be able to publish to the IIS 7 web server.
    I know you can publish files to be placed on a platform (this is the same concept as my current set up) but as I am not from a technical back ground I am unsure if I can use the current set up for Captivate.  Or will I need a third party app?
    The ICT guys here are also unsure as they are not familiar with Captivate.
    Can anyone advise please?

    In theory yes.   But in practice, whether you use HTML5 or not depends more on what kind of device and browser the end user is using to access your content.  If you're intending to deliver content to people on iPads or phones then you'll definitely need HTML5 output.  But don't expect it to work anywhere near as well as the HTM/SWF output from the same project file.
    HTML5 MUST be served from a web server anyway. It's not going to work reliably (or at all) if delivered from a network or CD ROM, etc.

  • 2012 R2 Web Application Proxy returns 400 (Bad Request) for Kerberos IIS App

    I've gone through all of the step-by-step examples for publishing applications with the Web App Proxy and I'm getting HTTP 400 when I try to publish an IIS Kerberos application. I'm using ADFS pre-authentication.
    The application is SharePoint but I CAN NOT change the authentication method to claims based auth...it has to be windows integrated. I've double checked all of the SPN's and delegation. I get the 400 returned once the user has been authenticated and is forwarded
    to the app url with the AUTHTOKEN?=blahblahblah query string. I've installed the ADFS certificate on the proxy and set it to be the external SSL certificate for the application.
    PLEASE DONT JUST TELL ME TO POST THIS IN THE GENEVA FORUM FOR ADFS.
    The event log has an exception that looks like this:
    Web Application Proxy received a nonvalid edge token signature.
    Error: Edge Token signature mismatch. edgeTokenHelper.ValidateTokenSignature failed: Verifying token with signature public key failed

  • IIS ARR lyncdiscover points autodiscoverinternalurlUri

    Hello,
    I have a 1 Lync 2013 Front End standard and i'm trying to connect lync mobile clients, i have published lyncdiscover.contoso.com with iis arr but when i open xml Href is pointing to autodiscoverserviceinternalURI

    <link rel="xframe" href="https://pool.contoso.com/Autodiscover/XFrame/XFrame.html"/>
    </resource>
    The rule of lync discover is redirecting to http 8080 and https 4443 through lync front end, and certificate has a SAN with lyncdiscover.contoso.com
    Any idea?
    Thanks

    Thank you Thamara.Wijesinghe for your answer but i have exactly the same configuration as you mention in your article:
    - Server Farm Name: pool.contoso.com (lync external web services URL)

    -HTTPS por 4443
    -Disabled Disk cache
    -Time Out 200
    -Disabled SSL Offloading
    -{HTTP_HOST} added pattern pool.*
     also office, meet, dialin and lyncdiscover is correctly published with IIS ARR sharing PPTs from external connectivity but i cannot connect lync mobile clients or download address book externally.
    testconnectivity.microsoft.com remote web connectivity test results all points in green
    The URL of the web as expected it was found and confirmed that anonymous access is not allowed.

  • IIS Arr - time out

    Hi!
    We have configure our IIS ARR for lync following the technet article:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/nexthop/archive/2013/02/19/using-iis-arr-as-a-reverse-proxy-for-lync-server-2013.aspx
    Now we have some problem with mobile devices and time outs and I've seen some articles with instructions to raise the time out.  For with server farm in our Iss arr should I change, the one for lyncdiscover or the one for our external web services?
    -UC

    Hi,
    You need to increase the Proxy timeout on the IIS ARR Server farm.

  • You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.

    Hi,
    I update recently my OS to Yosemite and decided to use Safari again as my web browser (I was using Chrome). Some of the sites I need to access for professional reasons are not available with safari. I receive the message: "403 - Forbidden: Access is denied.You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.". I believe there is a pattern here, they are all sites publish with IIS with SSL and build with ASP.NET.
    I can access them with Chrome (on OS X) or with Internet Explorer (with my Windows VMs).
    I've already cleared all saved passwords, cookies, history, etc...the problem remains. I'm sure this is a known problem, but all the answers I've found on the internet were for things like DNS and unavailability of the site. The sites are working fine and I can access them with Chrome.
    Can anybody help me? An explanation would also be nice :-) Something to do with Microsoft Authentication methods ?
    Thanks,

    Some websites require a special client certficate for access. If you don't have that certficate, you'll have to contact the site operator to find out how to get one.
    Sometimes the problem is caused by a web server that is configured to request an optional client certificate. Safari treats the request as mandatory. In that case, other browsers such as Firefox and Chrome may be able to connect to the site, because they ignore the request.
    The first time you were prompted for a certificate, you may have clicked through a dialog that requested access to the Apple certificate in your keychain that is used to secure the iMessage service. In that case, you may be able to regain access to the site in Safari by doing as follows.
    Back up all data.
    Double-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    com.apple.idms.appleid.prd
    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
    Paste into the search field in the Keychain Access window by clicking in it and pressing the key combination command-V. An item may appear in the list of keychain items. The Name will begin with string you searched for, and the Kind will be "certificate."
    Delete the item by selecting it and pressing the delete key. It will be recreated automatically the next time you launch the Messages or FaceTime application.
    The next time you visit a site that prompts for an optional client certificate, cancel out of the prompt. You may have to do this several times before the server stops asking.

  • Server has not enough memory for operation (Some .rpt files not removing from Temp folder )

    We have web application developed in ASP.NET 4.0 ftramework and published on IIS. And we are using 13_0_8 version of CR.
    I am creating report files and exporting these as pdf. And I am disposing streams and report documents at the end. Initially, there wasn't any problem and temporary files which are created by CrystalReport were deleting all. But, now requests to the web application increeased to about 50.000 in a day and now some .rpt files are staying in Temp folder and I can't delete them. After recycling application pool all files are removed by IIS. Then, after 1 or 2 hours new .rpt files are creating in Temp folder. And after somewhile, application throws Server has not enough memory for operation. And, IMHO the reason is temp files. Here is the code I am using to export report as pdf.
    Questions:
    1. Is the reason of this exception is temp files in Temp folder?
    2. What is wrong in that code?
    ReportDocument report = DownloadPDF.GetReport(id);
       MemoryStream stream = (MemoryStream)report.ExportToStream(CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat);
       Response.ContentType = "application/pdf";
       Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=" + id+ ".pdf");
      report.Close();
      report.Dispose();
       try
       Response.BinaryWrite(stream.ToArray());
       Response.End();
       catch (Exception)
       finally
      stream.Flush();
      stream.Close();
      stream.Dispose();
    Here is the StackTrace

    Hi guys,
    I am struck with a problem while retrieving the Windows Credentials from WCF service.
    1. I have used WSHttpBinding.
    2. I have configured the Website and App pool to run under a specific user who is an Administrator for the server.
    3. I have created the windows Credential of Generic type using Credential manager with the same user.
    4. I configured the Website to allow only Anonymous and Windows Authentication in IIS (IIS Version: 8.5).
    5. I tried the same code in the same server by logging into server with same user and debug the service. The service is returning the windows Credential requested.
    6. But i am unable to retrieve the Windows Credentials from the same code when published in IIS in the same server.
    i configure the Security in Server and client as below:
       <bindings>
          <wsHttpBinding>
            <binding name="wsHttpEndpointBinding">
              <security mode="Transport" >

  • HTTP or LDAP for CRL

    Hello
    I am setting up a new PKI (in a LAB initially) an reading up on the subject.
    I see the default location for the CDP is in the Configuration partition in AD and therefore accessed via LDAP://......
    I also see other recommending using IIS/HTTP to publish the CRL, CPS
    I can see the advantage of publishing the CPS via HTTP (not sure how you would import a file e.g. text file containing the CPS into AD in any event)
    Question 1:
    But what are the main advantages/disadvantages of placing the CRL in an IIS site and therefore HTTP?
    Question 2:
    I can see how the AD integrated CA would publish updated CRL to AD as the CA is integrated (e.g. Sub issuing CA)
    If the CRL is published via IIS/HTTP will the CA be able to automatically update the CRL via HTTP PUT or something like that (and if so I assume the CA Server needs rights to the Site and underlying NTFS folder containing the sites files),
    or will I have to manually download the CRL from the CA and publish to the HTTP site manually (or via script)?
    Question 3:
    Can I have the CRL published to LDAP and HTTP at the same time, and therefore I assume I will have to update the CA in come where so when it issues certificates is states both location in the CDP information within the certificate?
    Any help most appreciated

    AAnotherUser__

    1) HTTP versus LDAP
    The advantages of HTTP over LDAP/AD:
    Easy anonymous access - you don't need an AD account or tweak your AD permissions, so you can serve validating apps on non-domain machines or on machines in other forests.
    No replication delays (if you can use a web server in the domain, see 2) and 3)).
    Can be used as 'external' and 'internal' URL, using split DNS or by publishing using a reverse proxy.
    If you use the same CA for 'external' and 'internal' certificates: You do not disclose information about the structure of your AD forest to external parties.
    One advantage of LDAP / AD might be the distributed structure that provides 'fail-over' - but you can use load-balanced web services with HTTP.
    2) Automation of publication to an HTTP URL
    You cannot use HTTP PUT unless you would write your own application for that - but you can simply share the directory the web server uses, give the CA machine account Write permissions, and add a UNC path to the list of CRL publication URLs (file:///\\webserver\share\%3%8%9.crl)
    Pre-requisite: The web server needs to be member of the same or a trusted Windows domain. Otherwise you would need a script that copies or FTPs the CRL.
    3) Point of time of CRL publication - LDAP vs. HTTP
    If you can use the UNC path as explained before both this path and the LDAP object would be populated with the new CRL at the same time. Otherwise (web server not in a trusted domain) you would need to run the publication script more often than the CRL is
    published so that there is not too much lag.

  • BI Publisher - SSO and IIS

    Does anyone happen to know if SSO with the web server as IIS be an issue when trying to use BI Publisher? We are getting an error when trying to log into Publisher with SSO enabled (works fine with RPD Security). I have looked at the documentation and it has a section for updating an Apache file but I can find nothing with using it with IIS.

    Ummm, I am not sure how you are using BIP under IIS since according to the [System Requirements and Supported Platforms|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/e10417.pdf] PDF BIP is suported under IIS via the Oracle Application Server Proxy Plug-in:
    Microsoft IIS is supported as an HTTP server for Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher and Oracle Business Intelligence Office Server via the Oracle Application Server Proxy Plug-in. Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher and Oracle Business Intelligence Office Server require a J2EE Application server*
    So you must have OAS installed in your system.

    Finally, I Could able to resolve the issue.  I have identified the below information for a successfull deployment
    1. Light switch 2012 application can be published only with Web Deploy 1.1 (which will create Web Deployment Agent Service) in Windows Services list.  I had an issue with multiple Web Deploy versions (Web Deploy 2.0, 3.0) which caused to fail the publishing
    from Light Switch Development environment. Un-installed all the versions and installed only Web Deploy 1.1 and then published successfully
    2. You should use Remote Publish from Light Switch 2012 Development PC as there is no option in IIS 6.0 to import the Package in IIS 6.0 with the packages files similar to the option available in IIS 7.0 and later.
    3. You should be able to publish from Light Switch 2012 environment with the option "IIS server has lightswitch deployment prerequisites installed" checked.  The application will publish with the option unchecked but it will not work.

  • Flash Help and Publishing / IIS

    My supervisor is responsible for publishing my projects to
    our intranet server. He published a project of mine and found that
    he ran into issues with IIS. I don't have all the details so this
    may not be enough to get a good answer, but he told me that he had
    to use an * (wildcard) in IIS to allow all the Flash Help
    functionality to show on a web page. He wants to know what can be
    done so the * does not have to be used, if anything, to have all
    the functionality present. Thanks for any help if this is enough to
    give a direction, and if not I will try and get more details from
    him for later.

    Hi jacobremprex
    Are you using Flashhelp Pro output and the RH Server
    software? If not, I don't think you need IIS to publish to the
    intranet. You just need to publish to the intranet URL.
    Can you tell us where the wildcard has been placed and also
    what pieces of Flashhelp functionality aren't working.

  • Publish Server Update status using IIS

    Hi, I had setup the WSUS on a 2012R2 for my server environment. My job is to approve the updates and work with server owners (eg. Application team). May I know how to publish the server update status/report using WSUS server with IIS.
    My other IT team can go to the site for checking their servers' update status and carry on the manual update job via remote desktop. Rather than remote to each of their server to check the updates been push.
    I saw this feature before when I was with my ex-company. The WSUS team will send us a link and I will use the site to sort out those server which belongs to me to verify any new updates been pushed.
    Appreciate your feedback soon.

    Hi,
    As far as I know, there is no web management UI for WSUS.
    If we want to manage the WSUS server remotely, we can install the WSUS Administration console.
    To download WSUS Administration console, please click the link below:

    Best Regards.

  • Getting Error on IIS after publishing orchestration as Service.

    Hi Experts.
    I have published my Orchestration As Service.And after that when I try to run from IIS it is giving the below error.
    Login failed for user 'IIS APPPOOL\DefaultAppPool'.
    System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login failed for user 'IIS APPPOOL\DefaultAppPool'.
    After some googling also I am not able to solve this.
    Can experts please tell me how to fix this.
    Thanks

    There are few things that need to be done.
    Create a Virtual Directory (which you;ve done)
    Create an Application Pool (which you;ve done)
    Associate a Pool Identity which is a menber of IIS_WPG, BizTalk Isolated Host users (which you;ve done)
    Ensure you have a BizTalk Isolated Host defined with the same credentials.
    Ensure you have an Host Instance of the above host.
    Ensure that the wcf-basicHTTP receive handler has a receive handler associated with this host.
    Publish your orchestration into the Virtual Directory/Application (if you;ve not created a receive location, ask for one to be created during the publishing).
    Bind your orchestration to the created receive location
    Regards.
