BI Report - Currency Text

Hi All,
We have BI Reports which has amount values and its corresponding currency displayed.
say,, PO Number 8500000543 with Amount values as $65
When you run the BI Report, the PO Number is correctly displaying with amount values as $65, but when a user tries to convert this amount to different currencies, say Australian Dollars, it displays as 65 AUD and if Indian Rupee,  it shows as 65 INR for example (Actually, it calculates with exhcange rates and shows different amount)
But, in the same way, if a user tries to convert the same amount in to British Pounds, (GBP) it doesn't show as 65 GBP, instead, it shows 65 with pound symbol (sign) with which the users getting confused,
Can anyone please tell me a way to make the report display the british pounds as GBP instead of pound symbol.
This is really urgent
i will assign points for sure,
Thanks in advance
Regards
Pooja

Hi Pooja,
Yes, sorry, You need to maintain GBP in the alternative text in SPRO and you can also specifiy whether you want 'GBP' to be displayed before the value or after the value by selecting 'After value/Before value' in this setting.
Please refer to the below link:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/08/81b98895e911d4b2ca0050da4c74dc/content.htm
As the default text is '£' and you want to change it to GBP, you need to give GBP as the alternate text and specify whether you want it to appear before or after the value.

  • Hi currency text display in seperate column

    Hi All,
    1)   I want to display currency text in seperate column in report output.
ex: 1000$, (present value )............1000     USD    ( Need to display currency text USD in seperate column ).
    2) i have AP ageing report where i will display amount values based on the due dates in different buckets as shown below using offsets.
    Vendor      From 1 to 31                From 31 to 61                                         From 61 to 91
    500000006                1000$
    500000015                                            1000$
    500000016
Now  User wants to give bucket in selection screen .I need to display vendors who fall into that bucket. How can i do this? please suggest this,,,soon.
        eg:due ranges  1- 31.
      Vendor      From 1 to 31
         500000006             1000$
    Thanks in advance,
    Joseph

    Hi Joseph,
    Your First query.
Create a calculated key figure using the key figure you are using with NODIM. This will remove any unit after the Key Figure.
In the second column, drag and drop 0CURRENCY from Unit dimension of the InfoCube.
    Second Query.
You can create a structure on Vendor on the reporting level and assign a range of vendor for each bucket in the structure. The user will be able to filter out any bucket which he wants.
    Hope that helps

  • Crystal Report with text(csv) data file, can we set it as input parameter?

    Hi,
I am a new user of Crystal Reports 2008.
I have created a report with charts in it. The input data comes from a csv text file.
Can I set the name of this text file as an input parameter?
as I need to generate 44 similar reports with different text filenames(and data)?
    Thank you.
    Regards

    Brian,
    Thanks much.
I did exactly what you said.
Just to see any change, I first gave a bad report file name just to see if I am accidentally pointing to a different file,
but I got an error saying report not found.
Then I renamed my original datafile name and generated a report and it still generated one without giving an error.
Then I also gave a junk name to the logoninfo and printed that name, the new name was assigned to logoninfo, but the code did not error out.
It ended up generating the report.
Now here is what I think is happening,
    1) The save data in report option seems to be still on even though I have turned it off in 2 locations
    a) file -> Report Options
    b) file -> Options -> Reporting tab.
    2) For some reason the logoninfo is getting ignored as well.
Since I did not see any answers yesterday I posted a link to this thread on the .Net forum
Crystal Report with text(csv) data file, can we set it as input param? C#
and Ludek Uher says that I am connecting to the text file via a DAO database engine and so need to use the same code for changing the text file as for changing an Access database.
But the link he gave me tells me to try the same thing that we have been trying..
    Here is my plan,
    1) I will first try and find out why my save data with report option is still on ( but it shows off in Crystal ).
    2) why is LogonInfo getting ignored.
Meanwhile any suggestions from anyone are welcome.

  • Crystal Report with text(csv) data file, can we set it as input param? C#

    Hi,
I am new to the forums and posted a question which belonged to the .net - SAP Crystal reports group.
Can someone help me with my problem? following is the thread that I have started.
Crystal Report with text(csv) data file, can we set it as input parameter?
    Thank you in advance.

Looking at the original thread, you are connecting to the text file via the DAO database engine:
"I added the text file as follow, new connection -> Access/Excell (DAO) -> select the file and the database type as text"
Thus I would use the same code for changing the text file as for changing an Access database. See Kbase [1218178 - Error: "Logon failed" when connecting to Access database in .NET application|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_bi/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d36393736354636443646363436353344333933393338323636393736354637333631373036453646373436353733354636453735364436323635373233443330333033303331333233313338333133373338%7D.do] for more information. If that does not work, you may want to consider connecting via ODBC or feeding the data from the text file to and ADO .NET dataset and pointing the report at the dataset.

    Hi friends,
We do not do any with holding, so we have configured witholding tax functionality with 0%
now when I ran the 1099-misc report , it shows that certain invoices has portion of amount going into with holding exempt in reporting currency and did not show year to date payments on 1099 report.
Amount for with holding base does not tie up with payments made to them and so year to date payments does not tie on 1099 report.

  • How do I generate a report in text format

How do I generate a report in text format and send it to both a file and to a printer?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I run a series of tests on multiple stations and I need to generate a report, both electronic and one to be printed for a DHR (device history record), for each station. If I use file i/o as you suggested is the preferred approach to generate an electronic file and make the report from that, or generate both the electronic and hard copy report from arrays as the measurement data is acquired. Note that the electronic data is more detailed than the data in the hardcopy report.

  • How to include balance level reporting currency in a ledger set.

    Hi,
I was trying to use ledger set for consolidation purposes in GL to generate FSG report. I read on the following meta link that i can do so:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18727_01/doc.121/e13425/T348488T348495.htm#T385474
But when i am trying to define ledger set, balance level reporting currencies are not available. Can anybody help?

To resume with a little progress made:
    I have a Section
    * with Access Level == Edit for Credential == Instructor@...${IDENTIFIER} with no Group Access Label, and also
    * with Access Level == Download for Credential == Student@...${IDENTIFIER} with Group Access Label == Student.
I'm doing ws calls to add a Course including an identifier. This is successful, and I can then go into the iTunes client as Instructor@...${IDENTIFIER} (substitution made) and manually add Groups and change Access to each individually. (I'm adding Groups "Download", "Shared Uploads", and "Drop Box", changing the Access Level accordingly for Group Access Label "Student".
But naturally I want to do the manual part programmatically, to save n instructors from having to learn how to do this same thing and then to do it.
So I'm trying to change my ws call to add the Groups, including Permissions. Schema http://deimos.apple.com/rsrc/xsd/iTunesURequest-1.1.xsd doesn't include Group Access Label for Permission. What does this mean?
I've tried the actual Credential == Student@...${IDENTIFIER} (with IDENTIFIER substitution made before the call) and also Credential == Student (to see if I'm supposed to match the Group Access Label, instead).
For either of these trials, the ws call successfully adds the Groups and a ShowTree includes the Permissions for the Groups. But in the iTunes client user interface, it's as if I gave no Permissions in adding the Groups.
Am I approaching this wrong or is there a bug here?
(I haven't tried yet a separate call to add the Group Permissions, not wanting to suffer the processing wait of getting handles for the three Groups.)
Anyone else doing this? (successfully or not ) Thanks.

  • New Reporting Currency won't Convert

    Hey Experts!
We're running BPC v 5.1.502 for Microsoft SQL.
I've recently setup the Currency Conversion features with BPC.  I was able to successfully convert LC Values to both USD and EUR.  These 2 Currencies were already setup as Reporting currencies by somebody else, probably years ago.
Now, I then tried to add the CAD currency to the conversion process, but for some reason when the "FX Restatement" Task is run, the system only converts the USD and EUR values.  It seems to ignore the CAD currency.
    I've validated the following:
I have rates existing for the CAD currency in the tblFactRate table.
For the CAD record in my InputCurrency Dimension, I have "Y" in the reporting field and have defined the same Group that is used by USD and EUR.
In my Groups Dimension, I've ensured that CAD  is available, has a "Y" in the Reporting Column an dhas a Currency_Type = 'R'
Everything is set correctly on the Rate, RateEntity, RateSrc, and RptCurrency Dimensions as well.
What else am I missing?  Why will the first two rates calculate, but not the 3rd?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Sean

I'm running Script Logic and even though I have Processed all Dimensions, processed the application and optimized trying to get this thing to work; I figured I'd try your advice on saving and validating the script.  Well, this fixed it!    I'm now able to get my new Reporting curency to convert LC values.
Thank you so very much for this information.  It would be nice if it were documented somewhere that the Script Logic has to be re-validated and saved after adding a new Reporting Currency.
Now, to follow up, if I add more reporting currencies, do I need to optimize and process the entire application after each new currency?  Or is that overkill?  Thanks again for your advice!

  • Report - Formatting text IN text items

I'm trying to create a report with (at the end of the report) a text field extracted from the (Oracle) database.
A user creates the value of the field, with a sort of HTML formatting on the text (to make text in BOLD is used <B> and </B>, for ITALIC <I> and </I> and to UNDERLINE...).
If I generate the report in HTML format everything is OK, but in PDF format I've got the tags written with the text.
This mean that instead of having:
    "Hello World"
    I've got
    "Hello <B>World</B>"
Is there a way to let Oracle Report display a text item with some words in BOLD (ITALIC, etc) and some others not?
I've tryed the "Contains HTML Tag" without any result, I'm currently using 6i, but I can switch to 9i.
Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

OK I used the ' " ' to put your message into a box at the start of mine, but I don't seem to be able to use the ">" to "indent" my text... For example-- the following is not indented: >So now I am putting this text here in quotes, let's see via PREVIEW.
No, that doesn't seem to do anything...
    Steve
You have to put the > character at the beginning of a line.
Alternatively, you can use this HTML to set off text as a blockquote without the background:
    <blockquote style="margin-left: 50px;">Quoted text goes here</blockquote>
Which will render your text like this:
    Quoted text goes here
You can add your own background color like this:
    <blockquote style="background:lightblue; border:1px solid black; padding:3px; margin-left: 50px;">Quoted text goes here</blockquote>
Where 'lightblue' can be replaced with any CSS or HTML color name.
This will render your text like this:
    Quoted text goes here

  • Printing Report Header Text

I have a link in a report that calls another report. The link information being passed to the report is :ename, :emp_id. I would like to print these values on the report header text.
Emp Name: bob Emp ID: 10000
    field1 field2 field3
    1
    2
    3

    Hi,
You can do it in the additional plsql code section.
Say department is being passed to the report. Here is a sample code to print the deparment being passed.
    for i in 1..p_arg_names.count
    loop
    if p_arg_names(i) = 'department' then
    htp.p('Department :'||p_arg_values(i));
    end if;
    end loop;

  • Oracle 9i Reports and Text PDS

We are using Oracle 9i Reports for printing reports with text PDS on Windows NT.
We have developed our own textpds.conf and replaced with the file which is present at the following location.
    ORACLE9iReportsHOME\reports\conf\
    My problem is:
    1. We are using comma separted text file. But what I gathered from the documentation is that I need to hardcode the name of data input text file in the text query while building the report rdf. Can this name not be supplied to rwclient as the paramter.
This hardcoding of the text file is imposing the problem of replacing the text input file everytime the new report is generated.
If somebody can help me in this regard then it will be great.

    Hi Ashish,
Currently this is not possible using TextPDS. You can create a script which copies/moves the intended data file to the file name you specified at design time.

  • Change CO report currency to USD (grr2)

I have a CO report done with GRR2 transaction with EUR as currency.Iwould like to change it in USD currency.
    what i can do.

    Hi,
Check if below fields are active in your library:
SWZG - Costs in Target Currency
SWKG - Costs in reporting currency
Target currency will be used by the system as the translation basis.
Make sure, you have USD/EUR exchange rates are maintained in your system.
So, change your report to include these key fields. As a result of using SWZG, the translation section will appear at the bottom of your selection screen.
    Hope this helps.

  • Move "Report Total" text in Classic Report

I am using APEX 4.0.2 and I would like to move the position of the report total text (Display This Text When Printing Report Sums) in the Break Formatting section of the Report Attributes tab.  By default, it appears in the first column.  It there a way to move the text display to column 2 or 3?
Thanks you for your time and attention.

    Okay,
Well this is actually an CSS thing, but in this case, since the break formatting section is just another table row, you might as well use some jQuery to prepend an extra table cell to the break row.
You can use the following code in a "page load" dynamic action:
      $('.apex_report_break').parent().prepend('<td></td>')
This will add one empty table cell to the break formatting section row. If you want more than one table cell indent, you can use the colspan attribute to make the prepended column wider:
         $('.apex_report_break').parent().prepend('<td colspan="2"></td>')
The advantage of using jQuery in this case is that your text will always be indented the correct distance, regardless of the content and width of the underlying table columns.
