Installed latest version of iTunes, now I cannot play music through my Airport Express. I'm seeing the message "An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device "living room". The network connection failed..."Living room" is what I named the is what I named The AirPlay function of the Aport Express. Thanks!

I have the same problem - did you solve it?

  • "An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device "Living Room Apple TV". An unknown error occurred (406)."

This error message keeps popping up overtime I try to play an iTunes bought tv show from my mac book pro to my apple tv "An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device “Living Room Apple TV”. An unknown error occurred (406)."
Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it. Both devices are registered on the same apple id and password. This problem just started happening within the last week or so but prior to that everything was working as it should have. In fact since the launch of icloud things have been glitchy for me with purchasing and playing off the apple tv as well.
    Can someone please help?'
    Thanks

Unfortunately Apple's error codes are very much a mystery (at least to me), try restarting the Apple TV, iPad and router. If that doesn't help look into whether you might be encountering interference on your network.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.

  • An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device "Apple TV". An unknown error occurred (-15000).

    Hi ,
I acquired an Apple TV (Gen3) a couple of days ago.
The Apple TV seems to be connected properly to WIFI (Good signal)
I watched streaming videos on Youtube and film trailers – the speed is ok.
I followed the protocol but, still, I cannot connect Itunes to the Apple tv.
    These are the error messages:
On the TV : apple tv could not connect to library
In Itunes: An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device “Apple TV”. An unknown error occurred (-15000).
Please note that Apple TV doesn’t appear in the list of devices in Itune’s preferences menu.
The Home Share is enabled on both devices and I connected with the Same Apple ID on each device.
    Airplay is on.
    Ref Apple TV :
    Apple tv: Model MD199HC/A
    Serial number DY******RHN
    apple tv software : 5.3(6105)
    Imac: OS X version 10.8.4
    I already tried to :
    Unplug/plug modem and router
    Test connectivity
    Disable the Firewall
Re-enable the firewall with Itunes in the list of ‘allowed’ devices
Re-set Apple TV (3 times) + Up to date
Re-start Apple TV and computer several time
    Itunes is up to date
    Could you please help?
    Many Thanks

    Hi all,
    Thanks for your comments.
In my knowledge, there isn't any security software active on my computer.
After re-setting my routeur several times, I finally swapped it against an Airport Time Capsule.
It solved the problem, however, I would be interested to know if a (less expensive) solution exists.

  • I had itunes played from my PC to my music system that is connected through a nework.  It use to work fine, but now I get an error message that say "An error occured while connecting to the Airplay Device "Stereo".  An unknown error occured (-15000)".

When trying to play itunes from my PC to my stereo connected to an Airport Express, I gen an error that says "An error occured while connecting to the Airplay device "Stereo" an unknown error occured (-15000)".  This has happened before and for reasons unknown to me, the problem corrects itself, then it starts again/  Makes me wish I did not have my music on itunes.

moehadi, Welcome to the discussion area!
This is typically caused by a firewall or Internet security software running on your PC. Please read the comments in "Error -3256 or -15000 when streaming to AirPort Express base stations using iTunes".
Also there is "iTunes 8: Unknown error -15000 when attempting to stream music to devices connected to AirPort Express with AirTunes".

  • An error occurred while connecting to the FTP server '127.0.0.1:14147'

    HI Experts,
I have been tried Content Conversion by using the FTP. Under Adapter Monitoring --> Communication Channel monitoring i found this error:
An error occurred while connecting to the FTP server '127.0.0.1:14147'. The FTP server returned the following error message: 'com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx:  4     '. For details, contact your FTP server vendor.
    Regards,

    Hi
Pl mention the error correctly, whats the FTP error code? (something like this: 426, 521)
Could be due to 2 reasons:
    1) insufficient privileges
    2) wrong port

  • Error occurred while connecting to the FTP server: java.lang.NullPointerExc

    Hello Experts,
I have a scenario wherein i have to send file from FTP to application server of ECC.
I don't want to do any mapping and transformation; Just need to transfer the file as it is.
I have achieved this using Integrated scenario.
But in the sender communication channel i get an error saying "Error occurred while connecting to the FTP server "*.*.*.*:*": java.lang.NullPointerException"
I have checked all my FTP parameters many times and everything is correct.
    Thanks,
    Lalit Mohan Gupta.

    Hi,
You can check the connect test of FTP in either of the below ways.
    1. Use FTP Dos command (i.e go the run and type ftp..) and from there try to login to the source FTP server by using FTP Commands. If you are able to connect to the same then ask your basis to check the connectivity test from PI server.
If you are not able to connect check the error you are getting and post the same if you are not able to resolve the same.
    2. There is Program from SAP which need to be deployed into Server and after that you can test the ftp connection by yourselves from PI server. Search in sap support for Connection Test SAP Note..

  • Since updating to Yosemite my airport express (used for airplay) connects for a short period then drops, the error message "An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device "Kitchen". The host cannot be reached."  Has anyone else had this?

Since updating to Yosemite my airport express (used for airplay) connects for a short period then drops, the error message "An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device “Kitchen”. The host cannot be reached."  Has anyone else had this problem

I'm having the same issue.  Haven't found a workaround.  I use a main TimeCapsule as my main router, also have another TimeCapsule that extends the network, three Airport Express and an AppleTV.  For whatever reason, the two AirportExpress that I have in a different rooms cut out.  I only have 600 square foot apartment so it's not that big, the signal should be strong enough.  Airport Utilitiy reports the signal strength to be strong on all devices.
I'm using all new equipment, a new MacPro for my music, new TimeCapsules, new Airport Express, new everything with the latest Yosemite software.  Very frustrating.  My Airplay used to work very nice and now I'm constantly having issues and restarting my network.  I did a fresh install of all my software on my MacPro when I got it in January so it's not as if it's an old machine with old software, everything is new within the last 6 months.
The only workaround I found so far is to unplug the devices and to plug them back in.  Since upgrading to Yosemite, I'm restarting my Airport Express at least twice a week.  Very annoying.

  • An error occurred while connecting to the remote speaker. The network connection failed.

I can't get my itunes to connect to the remote speakers via airport express anymore  - I did not change any settings - but did update iTunes to 10.2.2 and now things are not working and I get his message - "An error occurred while connecting to the remote speaker “Living Room”. The network connection failed."
Does anybody have a fix for this problem?
    thanks

Same problem for me. Ever since I upgraded to 10.6.3 and iTunes 9.1, about once per week I'll get the error message when trying to get iTunes/Airtunes to connect to my older Airport Express (running firmware 6.3) "An error occurred while connecting to the remote speaker <insert speaker name here>. The network connection failed." (No error codes are given.)
Airport Utility sees the offending Airport Express just fine (and there's a green light on said AE).
Curiously, a newer AE-n, elsewhere in the house (running firmware 7.4.2) does NOT exhibit this problem.
Simply restarting the offending AE does NOT clear the problem. Restarting the main router - a Time Capsule DOES clear the problem. Alternatively, toggling off the Airtunes functionality on the offending AE, restarting it, then toggling Airtunes back on, and finally restarting it DOES clear the problem (as an alternate to restarting the router). No matter how the problem is cleared, it returns within a week. It's frustrating that the problem cannot be recreated immediately.
Probably not relevant, but the computer on which I'm running iTunes (a Mac Mini) is connected to my TC via ethernet, not wirelessly.
I've tried the suggestion of disabling ipv6. No effect.
I fear the only solution will be to scrap my older Airport Express and replace it with a newer n-model. But before I resign myself to the $100 fix, any more ideas?

  • An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device "Stereo Airport Express G". The network connection failed.

When attempting to play iTunes 11.1.2 music wirelessly from my Mac Mini to stereo speakers connected to an AE "G" I get the following message: An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device “Stereo Airport Express G”.   However, when I attempt to play internet radio from an iPod Touch wirelessly to the same speakers connected to the same AE "G", it works fine.
Finally, when I swap out the "G" for an AE "N" connected to the same speakers Airplay works fine, both from the Mini and the iPod.
Why would the iPod connection work while the Mini connection not?

I have what sounds like a very similar issue.
I had my Denon 3312ci working perfectly with Airplay from my 2013 iMac running iTunes. Upgraded to iTunes 11.1.3, and now when I attempt to Airplay direct from iTunes to the 3312, it plays for about half a second and then stops. Displayed on the Amp then says "Assigning Network". The amp starts dropping ping packets at this point. About 15-20 seconds later the pings start coming back, but no Airplay.
I tried different network cables, resetting the microprocessor, a different switch, changing between DHCP and static IP. Was about to make a warranty call to Denon, when I thought maybe I should try Airplaying directly from iphone and ipad. Much to my surprise, it worked from those devices.
I prefer to use my iMac to Airplay rather than ipad/iphone as I found I got next to no audio drop outs using it that way (they are both using wired network), where as ipad/iphone occasionally would get a moment of silence in the middle of a song.
My network set up is fine. I can use internet radio and connect to DLNA services fine on the amp. It is just airplay between iTunes 11.1.3 and the amp where the issue lies.
No fixes as yet, but I have logged a support call with Denon Australia to see what they say.

  • Airplay Connection issues - An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device "x". The network connection failed.

I recently upgraded to a new MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion, and got my Airport Express (802.11g) out of the closet and set up an AirPlay network for my speakers.
All worked well for the first while, but recently I've been having an inconsistent problem with this: "An error occurred while connecting to the AirPlay device “my network name”. The network connection failed."
Since it came up, more often than not, I can't connect.
I can play without issue from my iPhone, and from my iPad.
I looked around these forums, and found a couple threads dealing with this from 2011, with no clear resolution to them.  No one with Mountain Lion seems to complain about it, though a few people mused about whether Mountain Lion might fix the problem.
I'm running iTunes 10.7(21), and don't recall doing any upgrades to it that might have brought this about, though I can't say for sure.
My Airport Express is updated to firmware version 6.3, which I believe is the last one issued for the 'g' Airport Express.
My wireless network runs off an Airport Extreme 802.11n (Second Generation) with verion 7.6.1 firmware.
My Mac has 10.8.2 on it right now.
Hopefully some of that info might help sort this out - any replies greatly appreciated!

One quick update.  A workaround that was mentioned in one post did seem to work - if music is started via the Remote app it seems to connect fine.
And I'm not sure if I dare upgrade to iTunes 11 given the firestorm of bad impressions I see, including some that relate to Airplay functions...
