Big bug in NW-PI-731, JDBC-adapter losing data

Hi,
we recognized a big bug in NW-PI-731 SPS07, processing data with JDBC_xxxx_SENDER, sometimes it occurs, that for example, from 13974 documents should be processed, but only a part of 13137 documents are processed successfully, but 837 documents are missing in the target system,
In message-monitoring, PI displays all documents as processed successfully, but that is obviously wrong,
so PI is sometimes losing data - this behaviour we did not have had in NW-PI-700-SPS18
after upgrading to PI-731, we have big trouble with data processing.
did other SAP-customers noticed the same behaviour?

Hi
You can count the total number message processed in PI from message monitoring in RWB.
If you see that the number is 13137, then there is a problem while reading the data from database
using JDBC sender adapter.
Since the number of records are high, you can try to restrict the number of records using rownum in
database select query.

  • Using JDBC Adapter posting data from Oracle database to Falt file????

    Hi All,
      By using JDBC adapter, for now I have to connect to Oracle Database and then get the employee information from the Employee Table and post it to the flat file, can you please help me out the complete procedure...
    Thanks in advance
    Andy

    Hi Andy,
    have a look at the help for configuring a JDBC Sender adapter: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7e/5df96381ec72468a00815dd80f8b63/content.htm
    It mentions all the settings you'll need to make e.g. the connection URL as posted above.
    And it also lists how an XML file looks like that contains the query results according to the SQL Select statement in the adapter.
    <resultset>
    <row>
    <column-name1>column-value</ column-name1>
    <column-name2>column-value</ column-name2>
    <column-name3>column-value</ column-name3>
    </row>
    <row>
    <column-name1>column-value</ column-name1>
    <column-name2>column-value</ column-name2>
    <column-name3>column-value</ column-name3>
    </row>
    </resultset>
    So you have to create a datatype, message type and message interface to match this structure (of course you'll need to substitute column-name1 etc. with the column names in your select statement).
    Now if you want to create a flat file from that, you have to create an XML representation of that flat file and use the content conversion in the receiver file adapter as defined here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d2/bab440c97f3716e10000000a155106/content.htm

  • Sender JDBC adapter: duplicate data sent

    Hi experts,
    The scenerio is XI is polling the Data from source system using JDBC  sender adapter. But the duplicate data is being sent to target system. I have check the chaneel configuaration and it is as follows:
    Polling Intervals(secs) = 3600
    and schedulling for the channel in RWB is set as: Daily at ......AM for 2 hours
    as per my understanding the here the adpater is polling the data for one hour and again it starts polling for another one hour which is set in secheduling.
    If I set the Availability planing as Daily at ......AM for 1 hour then problem can be resolved.
    Please advise.
    thanks,
    Regards,
    Mohan

    This could be resolved if you can add a field in the DB table like 'ReadFlag'.And your sql statement should have a check on this field.
    You can ask someone(who can actually make changes in the Database) to add the field in the Table.
    Please refer this blog for more understanding

    Hello Experts
    We have a repeatative issues in JDBC sender adapter .While it is reading data from database sometimes we are facing the problem tat all the data is not read by adapter but PI read date is generated for all the records.
    Some times the issue happened like PI processed first three and last three data but missed 2-3 records from the middle portion.
    Please help me to know the reason for this error and how to resolve this types of error.
    Thanks in advance .

    Hello Stefan ,
    Thanks a lot for your reply .
    We have used the below  Select and update statement
    I am not expert in select query .Please suggest if the query is okay or it can be the error.
    SELECT * FROM [database].[dbo].[table]  WHERE [Delivery_Number] = (SELECT TOP 1 [Delivery_Number] FROM [database].[dbo].[table] where [PI_Read_Date] IS NULL ORDER BY [Delivery_Number] ASC) AND [PI_Read_Date] IS NULL ORDER BY [Transaction_ID] ASC
    UPDATE [database].[dbo].[table] SET [PI_Read_Date] = getdate() WHERE [Transaction_ID] in ( SELECT [Transaction_ID] FROM [database].[dbo].[table] WHERE [Delivery_Number] = (SELECT TOP 1 [Delivery_Number] FROM [database].[dbo].[table] where [PI_Read_Date] IS NULL) AND [PI_Read_Date] IS NULL)
    Please let me know what new features we can get if we set the the advanced parameter serializable.

  • Executing xml sql using jdbc adapter for date conversion

    Hi experts,
    I am following the fllowing blog for date format conversion for a jdbc receiver.
    /people/alessandro.berta/blog/2005/10/04/datetime-datatypes-and-oracle-database
    I constructed my graphical mapping to generate the following query
    DateField in receiver structure = TO_DATE('2008-03-24','DD-MON-YY')
    attribute hasQuot = No
    The result that i want is 24-MAR-08
    I am getting the error in communication channel monitoring as does not match string format.
    The database gets successfully updated without this date conversion. But when i try to use this, it give the above error.
    Is there any other configuration to be done to make the adapter execute this statement?
    Regards,
    Shamly

    The issue is solved.
    The SQL statement was wrong.
    The correct version is,( as was specified in the blog ) :-
    DateField in receiver structure = TO_DATE('2008-03-24','YYYY-MM-DD')
    Automatically in the database it is converted to 24-MAR-2008

    according to the release notes for your platform, oracle9iAS requires osagent (the corba agent) running somewhere on the network since it is not available for your platform.

  • Sender JDBC adapter...problem

    Hi,
    the real problem is Sender JDBC adapter sends data in following format.

      </Resultset>
    </ns5:DB2File_DB_MT>
    How does this tag ... <ns5:DB2File_DB_MT xmlns:ns5="urn:db2file">  get generated in runtime
    and apart from 1 to 1 mappings b/w the three fields above in the row tag...wt other mappings to be performed
    Pls help...
    Sunita

    Hi Sunita,
    what i understood from your query is namespace tag is coming while message mapping. This namespace can be avoided in the message type if you keep the XML namespace field empty while creating message type. But i afraid you have to do the message mapping again.

  • JDBC Adapter problem

    Hi,
    We have a scenario, data comes SAP via proxy to XI and then SQL DB using JDBC adapter.
    Data is not being updated in SQL DB table.
    SXMB_MONI, shows a chequered flag.
    Any ideas.
    -Naveen.

    HI Naveen,
    First go to RWB->Message Monitoring->Adapter Engine and check in the MEssage Display Tool (MDT) .
    Also check the Adapter monitring. for JDBC adapter.
    Check the Source Messages and Mapped Target Messages in SXMB_MONI...
    Check are you looking/given correct connection parameters/table name in JDBC adapter configration..
    Refresh the cache Also for the Adapter..
    Hope this helps,

  • JDBC adapter questions

    Hello all,
    I have been playing around with the JDBC adapter on my XI sandbox to figure it out.  I read through a few guides and I almost have a good handle on it, but there is still a big question lingering.  I have configured an example scenario in which I would like to pull data out of the USR01 table from the XI database and transform some user data and place it back in the same table.  I was able to get my connections correct and have the communication channel successfully execute SQL statements to alter the data.  For example, my <b>Query SQL Statement</b> in the sender communication channel is as follows:
    SELECT * FROM USR01 WHERE BNAME='ZTEST2'
    And the <b>Update SQL Statement</b> in the sender communication channel is:
    UPDATE USR01 SET BNAME='ZTEST'  WHERE BNAME='ZTEST2'
    This works fine and when I go to transaction se16 and pull up that table I see that the username gets modified when the interface is activated.  However, I haven't really figured out exactly how to configure the communication channel / data types so that I can run a SQL statement that will populate my data type that I created for mapping.  In other words, lets say I created a data type that looks as follows:
    mt_sender
        row
             MANDT
             BNAME
             STCOD
    And I want to populate that data type with data from the USR01 table (in the corresponding fields), what would my SQL statement look like in the sender communication channel?  I read a few weblogs on how to do scenarios like this, so I built my receiving Data Type to look like this:
    mt_receiver
         STATEMENT
              ROW
                   action
                   TABLE
                   access
                        MANDT
                        BNAME
                        STCOD
    But I still don't understand how exactly XI correlates the data types / mapping and transformations to the SQL statements....
    I'm having a hard time putting this into words, but basically I'm asking a rather high level question I think.  How does XI relate the data types to the data it pulls from the SQL statements?  How do I actually get the SQL statement to populate my data types so I can do mapping and then repopulate the database table again?  Does this make sense?

  • Strange behavior of JDBC Adapter

    Hello everybody!
    I found a pretty strange behaviour of JDBC Receiver Adapter during problems with network (big thanks to our Basis). According to the status in Adapter Engine, the message wasn't processed. In the database I can see these inserts. However, there are more lines in the XML than lines in the database. So, how it is possible that adapter commits only part of inserts. Logs and settings see below.
    My XML includes a SQL_DML statement and a few INSERT statements, each contains many inserts.
    It looks like that:
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>

    When i active the jdbc comunication channel , all cpu saturated and j2ee crash.
    I try to restart java stack but is not possible
    I think the problem is on jdbc adapter but i cannot stop it if java part is down.
    There are solution for stop or delete this comunication channell from abap stack?

    Are you using a JDBC-ODBC bridge type driver, I am not sure if this is supported by JDBC adapter.....
    If it is not try this,
    Driver: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    Connection: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://SQLHOSTNAME:PORT;DatabaseName=DBNAME;SelectMethod=cursor

  • JDBC Adapter, error behaviours

  • Pass system ack of JDBC adapter to ERP in IDoc - XI - JDBC scenario

    Dear all,
    i have an IDoc -> XI -> JDBC scenario (without using ccBPM). In the standard way the ERP system, sending the IDoc waits for an application acknowledgement. However the JDBC adapter is only capeable to send system acknowledgements.
    Is there a way to pass these acknowledgements to the IDoc status record?
    In help.sap.com (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/ab/bdb13b00ae793be10000000a11402f/frameset.htm) under "IDoc Processing with the IDoc Adapter " there is a table that maps XI system/applic acknowledgement to IDoc status. So in my opinion the status record of my IDoc should at least chenge to the corresponding status for the system ack.
    Can anyone tell, if this is really working? What if I deactivate the acknowledgement request in the NOALE programm?
    In any case, can I achieve to transfer the system ack to the IDoc status without using a ccBPM?
    Many thanks and best regards

    Without BPM, No.

    The ack referred here is related to idoc status whether it is properly reached till XI or not and not related to the JDBC ack.
    What if I deactivate the acknowledgement request in the NOALE programm?
    Then u won't have any ALEAUD message at sender R3.

    No
