Billed for SMS to +44 778 620-****

I have been billed for 36 SMS's to 44778620****. According to some internet references, it is the number iMessage uses to activate itself. Indeed not a number I have sent any SMS's to. So it appears the bug (feature?) I had getting my ported (Vodacom) number on a new iPhone 5 (Cell-C) to resolve the "Awaiting Activation" status cost me 36 international SMS's charged fees.
Why are we paying for iMessage / FaceTime activation? (While being connected to the internet anyway)
35 more times for an Apple glitch?

The Service Provider say it is not their problem (even though it is their billing and invoice), "it is a 3rd party  product, so talk to Apple ..."
Core Group, the local Apple distributor, and iStore, tried to help getting iMessage/FaceTime working properly, hence the 35 extra attempts, the final one of which worked.
We wont even mention the final Core techincal support advice of doing a SIM swap (again).
The first advice I was given by techincal support was "reinstall your OS". I've reguarly heard this somewhere else in the IT world, (nudge nudge grin grin). And yes I did eventualy try reflashing with the same iOS as suggested, to no avail.
Apple do not provide email support for me to query this.
Core say it is not their problem. (LOCAL Apple support)
Any suggestions anyone?
a) this should not be as a huge problem as I experienced and wasted many hours - ie. I'd have expected more from the premium Apple brand = try not let this happen again .... :-)
[Whats the point of having an iMessage that cannot recieve SMS's ???? (as your mobile number is not registered/activated on Apple). Or, automatically reverting to 'green' when 'blue' does not work]
b) How many $ are Apple (or some other 3rd party?) making out of these SMS charges - I'd like a refund for the the 35 that did not work please!!!
c) As I did not send any international SMS's, the reverse billing (MT Billing I think is the correct term), would fall foul of most SMS rules (laws) surely?

Found this on the web.  After reading it you might want to talk to your carrier.
The many Google results on this subject suggest that iPhone users based in many other countries have similarly been billed for an international text message to this UK mobile number (belonging apparently to Vodafone). It seems that all iPhones globally use this same UK number for FaceTime activation. Because UK iPhone tariffs typically provide inclusive text messages within the UK, very few UK iPhone users have noticed this problem; however, it is always apparent when roaming. Other networks around the world have apparently configured their billing systems not to charge for text messages to +447786205094 to avoid their customers being charged unexpectedly for international text messages.
When I spoke to Orange about this, they immediately refunded the charges and told me they will configure their billing systems not to charge in future for text messages to 07786 205094.

    I am trying to find an answer to this and I'm hoping you might be able to help.
    I have an iPhone 5 on a contract with a UK carrier ( O2 ). I often travel to the Middle East so to avoid horrendous call and data charges, I turn off cellular services and just to make sure I turn off the 'Send as SMS' option too. I would assume that this restricts me to Wi-Fi use only, which is what I want.
    However my latest bill shows over $50 work of SMS charges for 'non-EU roaming' and I'm stumped as to why that might be.
    Can anyone shed any light, please ?

    Send as SMS only applies to iMessages (sent over wifi or cell data). You can see this option disppears if you trun off iMessage.
    Regular SMS (sent to non-iMessage users) can still be sent. If you send a message in the Messages app and it is green, it is SMS and you will be charge for SMS text message.
    I turn off cellular services
    Settings > General > Cellular  - Cellular data does not turn off all cell use. It turns off the cell data path.
    SMS does not use cell data. It uses SMS/text data.
    iMessages use cell data, as does web & email.

    My other half has a Lumia 800 and I notice that there is this "auto word type" facility where when you type the first few letters, the word automatically forms and/or you get a choice of several that are similar.
    I see that this is for sms-ing - not sure for emails.
    Is this availible for the new range of Lumias (620, etc)? And if so, how do you set it up?

    Yes it is and it should be there by default, so no setting up is necessary, well at least not in my case anyway.

    I have been charged for 2 SMS. I do not use SMS. The number listed for SMS in my detailed usage is a landline which is not capable of sending SMS.     4.Define new sales document type and billing type for the Free Goods process.T.codes VOV8 & VOFA
    5.Assign document pricing procedure as C-Free goods for those sales document tyep and billing type.

    6.Define account key seperately for Free Goods and assign that account key to the pricing condition tyep and R100 condition type.

    Hi Venkata,
    This is very usual in Brazil because we have a Legal Requirement that all goods must have a Eletronic Nota Fiscal issued and following along with the goods. And the Eletronic Nota Fiscal is generated along with a Billing. Also, usually companies want to account this billing for a give Cash account, so they can cost someone for the free goods later.
    Here is what usually changes. On sales order we require a Cost Center. This also may help modifying your OBYC for the free of goods material document (they will be set as consumption since there is a cost center associated with the transaction). We created a billing document type pointing to a z account document type (ie ZG) - to avoid mixing them along with the RV documents. Also, we inform a account key for cash allocation (the billing will not be accounted for a customer, but actually for a cash account). To do this you have to fool SAP informing an account determination cash settlement, which will allow you to inform the Acc.Key-cash alloc. field - after remember to blank the acc.det.cash settl.
    It is not that easy, but works fine.

    I ordered BT phone and broadband in December and paid a year ahead on my credit card. The date for the engineer to call was 2nd January - I waited in all day, but he didn't arrive. I called BT on the day and cancelled the order, the person I spoke to apologised and refunded my credit card.
    A few days later, a payment of £178 was taken from my bank account. I tried to dispute this with BT, but could only get through to the call centre in India, who could see no record of the transaction. Fortunately, my bank could and recalled the money. Since then I have been bombarded with calls and letters from BT, demanding payment for a service which has never been provided. I have spoken to India on numerous occasions and have been told that this has been sorted out, but now I've received a bill for £212, including a "late payment fee". Despite contacting BT by email through the site, I have not had a response. My last contact assured me that I would get a final bill totalling zero but clearly this has still not been resolved.
    The poor communication from this telecommunications company has been atrocious. Attempting to transfer calls between departments has always failed and I've ended up with the call centre in India once again, who refuse to escalate the complaint and are clearly powerless to make decisions on this account. The constant demands for payment are tantamount to harrassment. I'm posting on here to see if this can be resolved by a member of customer service, who are inaccessible by phone.

What can I do to get the phone, that I paid for, work  for more than just a phone, and a paper weigh?

    Wow... you seriously over paid for an iPhone.
    That probably explains why you have/had no clue you were purchasing a locked device and think it's an Apple problem to get it unlocked.

  • Creating an ISP Bill for Customer Problem, What did i do wrong?

    Ok so the point of this program is to create a bill for customers selecting different packages for this ISP. Now i have done all the code, made the methods and what now, but there is a problem, in my main method which tests the methods in my class, the object does not get passed through the method and my toString method does not return the output. i will post the code below, did i do anything wrong?

In any case, neither your totalCharges() method nor your toString() method is defined to accept any parameters--much less an object as a parameter.
    and my toString method does not return the outputHow do you know that? Your toString() method is defined to return a String. Where in your program do you attempt to display the String that is returned?
    did i do anything wrong?If you call a method on an object, and the method returns something, you need to assign the returned value to a variable--otherwise the returned value will disappear into the ether. Subsequently, if you want to display the returned value, you have to take steps to do that as well.
    It sounds like you need to revisit a simple "Hello World" program and play around with it a little bit.

    I have been receiving bills for a while which seem higher than I should. I have free evening and weekend calls on my account, and last month paid for calls on sundays and a monday evening. I also have a list of calls on my bill that do not correspond to any numbers I know, and a couple of calls seem to have been made when there was nobody in the house.
    Is it possible that somebody else is using my phoneline? Is there a number I can call to sort this out?

  • Batch Split in OBD & billed for the entire Quantity .RG1  register does not update the excise values

    Hi All,
    I am new here . We have batch split in Delivery and 601 happens for the individual batches and billing we bill for the entire quantity . Hence the RG1 does not update the excise values for the batches and it is showing as zero (upon extraction in J2I6). Upon research through the program the latest note which i presume is patched
    The latest note is N158234 which does not show in the program but seems have been patched considering we are using the Latest version of SAP .
    As you see above in the billing we have billed for the whole quantity but RG1 does not update for the since the batches are zero .
    My programmer says because of some note related to cancellation where it says about values H & J in vbfa table and due to which program does not go through the Note for the batch split .
    Now i have checked few other projects in my company and they all seems to be following the program . So i am wondering whether my process or some customization is missing .
    Sales order (no batch determination)  , in delivery the batches are picked through wm to and batch split happens in the delivery . Then billling for the whole quantity . We have automatic excise invoice creation enabled so no J1IIN .
    Can somebody help me .

    How about the other projects' values in VBFA where your techinical team is guessing some issue.  Have you compared this?
    Since you have already the note 158234 implemented in your system, ideally, you should not face any issue.

    The current bill says the same.
    Actually, now I'm realizing that last month's bill stated I was making the first payment toward the phone. Now this month also says it's the first payment toward the phone when it's really the second.
