.bin file corrupt on RedHat 7.3

Hello,
I have a SSH-root-account on a dedicated virtual server and tried to install the JDK.
The file I downloaded is j2sdk-1_4_1_02-linux-i586-rpm.bin, the file size is correct: 40,769,931.
After "chmod +a j2*.bin" and "./j2*.bin" and confirming the license i get the following output:
Do you agree to the above license terms? [yes or no]

The download file appears to be corrupted.  Please refer
to the Troubleshooting section of the Installation
Instructions on the download page for more information.
Please do not attempt to install this archive file.I downloaded the file twice by copying the download link to the SSH shell (wget <PASTE>) and once by downloading it to my pc and uploading it by FTP in binary mode. Neither one worked, although i checked the file size each time.
Libc is version 2.2.5
Starting the generated install.sfx.* didn't work either:
[... root]# ./install.sfx.19007
UnZipSFX 5.40 of 28 November 1998, by Info-ZIP ([email protected]).
inflating: j2sdk-1_4_1_02-fcs-linux-i586.rpm   bad CRC e317d503  (should be 339ea02e)I would appreciate any help.
Best regards,

Well I think the problem is at Sun, not at us, but I couldn't figure out how to contact them for this particular problem. I hope they will someday notice this topic and fix the problem or, if we are doing something wrong, say what else requirements we have to meet :).
Best Regards,

  • Corrupted Bin File - Version CS3

I have a bin file that's corrupted. But a bunch of clips are made from that file. So, I can't just delete it and import the original again...The original file on the hard drive is not corrupt. It's just the file in the bin that is. I don't understand it!  But I can't just delete the file and re-import because then I'd have to create all of the clips again that are associated with it.  I tried moving the file on my hardrive to a different spot.  Then when I re-open premier pro, it asks me to find the file. (thinking that maybe doing that would fix the problem since the original isn't corrupt.)  BUT, that didn't fix it.
This is an urgent matter.  I was about done with this project...and then this happened...

    Anita,
Glad that you interpreted the test - and before I could get back to this thread too!
OK, there is something about that file, that PrPro is not liking. Simple playback is a totally different beast, than is editing. The MPEG file is GOP (Group of Pictures - see this ARTICLE for some background), and to do Frame-accurate editing, PrPro has to basically internally Render it to all I-frames.
While we are on the "Render" subject, let's try doing a Render, to see if that helps. First, do you have a red line above the Clips, on the Timeline? That indicates that for smoothest/best playback, Rendering is required. Do this in the "test Project," as it will take less time. Hit the Enter key, and let Rendering complete. You should then have a green line above the Clip. Test playback.
As for the Project/Sequence Preset, what Jeff is asking is for the choices that you made when you created the New Sequence - the one that you dragged this Clip to. The Sequence Preset must match the source files 100%, or errors will likely occur. PrPro tries to interpret the footage based on that Sequence Preset. Usually, one just gets things like the Frame Size wrong, and then end up with black bars, or they miss the FPS and get some odd motion. Other mis-matches, however, can cause different problems. Does your Sequence Preset match that footage 100%?
Good luck, and thank you for reporting the steps you have completed.

  • File corrupt-Multiband-Cannot open bin-file

This error is KILLING me...I have had to resort to an auto save file twice where alot of re-work was required...I am losing my confidence in Premiere for getting jobs done.  I close file...its working fine, then I open it and I get an error that says:
    Mulitband
    Cannot open bin-file
then program crashes...what is going on...I cannot find any documentation on this anywhere!
    Thnks

What version of Premiere Pro?Have you installed the Premiere Pro CS5 (5.0.3) update? That update fixes a lot of problems.
    What operating system?
What kind of footage are you using? Is it just happening with one specific asset?
Has this always happened, or did it just start happening?

  • Can't open .bin files downloaded from Belkin's site

I can't get firmware updates from Belkin's website to open. Supposedly they're in .bin archives including instructions and the firmware. I even updated my Stuffit Expander to version 10. No luck.
If I drag the bin file onto expander it pops up a dialog box (that goes by too fast to read in less than 7 or 8 tries ) but there's never anything expanded to the desktop (the folder where the .bin file is).
This is the file I need http://www.belkin.com/support/download/downloaddetails.asp?download=993 and I've tried also to open files from this page too http://www.belkin.com/support/article/?lid=en&aid=5027
Can anyone make a suggestion on how to get this file expanded or is the linked file just a corrupt file? Thanks.

Did you take the trouble to read the install.pdf file located on the same download page as the firmware file?
I actually read the instructions elsewhere on that site. I don't ask for help without trying to find the answers on my own. For example, before posting, I did both a Google search on "can't open .bin files" and also did a search on the discussion boards too. Or was that a rhetorical question?
It gives specific instructions on installation.
I wasn't asking about installation instructions.
You don't open the .bin file with Stuffit. It's not an archive. It's actually a binary file.
Stuffit Expander was listed as the default application when using CMD-I AND elsewhere on that site it said it was a Mac archive .bin file. The fact that it's NOT a .bin archive file is news to me. Thanks.
If you continue to have a problem contact Belkin's tech support. Apple Discussions does not provide support for third-party products.
I wasn't asking for support with a Belkin product. I was asking for help getting what I thought was a Mac formatted .bin archive open using my Mac. I provided a link to the file because I thought perhaps it was corrupt.
No need to get your knickers in a bunch.
Thanks for explaining that it's not a .bin archive because obviously I was not going to figure that out on my own based on what I read elsewhere.

  • How do you open .bin files?

I'm having trouble opening .bin files. It tries to open using StuffIt expander, but no dice. .dmg files are no problem. Anyone got any ideas?

Try opening StuffIt Expander first, then dragging the .bin file onto the application's window; if StuffIt Expander won't expand the file when it's dragged onto it, the file may be incomplete or corrupt.

  • Flash Crashing - CS6 - File Corrupt

    Hi All,
A couple of our users are having issues with Flash Pro CS6. They are having the issue intermittently and are unable to force the issue to occur. Please see below notes for further information.
Any help would be appreciated as we have run out of ideas!
I tried a chat session, however, it seems CS6 is not supported through chat...
    Flash Issue Notes
    Using Flash Pro v6
Saving files as Flash Pro v5.5
We have tried using four different computers, the latest one is Windows 7 Pro i7 processor 16GB RAM. On a gigabit network connection.
Has error when saving “Unable to save the document as “W:\x\x\test.fla”. Please try saving to a different filename or to a different location.
Upon saving the second time flash crashes and currupts the origional file – the new file is 0kb in size – when opening origional file we get Ünrecognised file format.
When saving again flash crashes and makes the original file corrupt – it is something to do with the DOMDocument.xml in the “Zipped” .fla file.
When repairing the zip file the DOMDocument.xml file is the only one that cannot be recovered.
Error also occurs when working on file from C:\ drive.
Cannot upgrade to Flash CC as we need active script 2

if that fails to fix the problem, start your computer in safe mode and see if the problem occurs.
    if it does, update windows.
if it does not, you have some non-windows program causing the problem.

You need to go to the HP driver site and use your P/N and then you will get to the page matching your System P/N and in that will be a listing for BIOS and you can download and use that to force update your BIOS to fix the problem if that still works..

  • Firmware File Corrupt when trying to update to 1.2

I just bought a game, and after that when i tried to update to 1.2 it says firmware file corrupt and it wont let me restore either. Can someone help me?

    Hi S. Han!
The article Ryan linked you to basically explains how to do this. Here's a step-by-step way:
Since you're on a Windows computer, here's what to do:
1 - Eject/disconnect your iPod, and close iTunes if it is running.
2 - Go to "Windows Explorer".
3 - Go to and follow this path:
    C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
(If you cannot see these files, then try this: In the "Tools" menu, click on "Folder Options", "View", then select "Show hidden files and folders".)
4 - When you are able to view these files, drag the "iPod Software Updates" folder to your Trash bin or Recycle Bin on your computer.
Now this is complete, connect your iPod and open iTunes. Proceed to install the software update again, and see if it works now.
    I hope this helps you,
    -Kylene

  • Is there a cure for persistent file corruptions across the suite?

i am having terrible and consistent problems with file corruptions across the suite. for example…
1: i collected for output (indesign) – corrupted over 100 small images that were linked.
2: opened an indesign job and all linked files failed to update and could not be imported (simply would not import those files and were all corrupted).
3: had a hang in photoshop followed by a 150:30 error (would not open any of my applications). this prompted a clean install of system and adobe cs4 see below
4: most recently, had a hang in photoshop (photoshop will also no "force quit") whilst indesign was open. two of my image files corrupted and, most surprisingly, all my illustrator files that i had placed also corrupted (will not even open in illustrator any more). illustrator was not even running at the time, so, get this – a hang in photoshop destroys illustrator files simply because they are placed in indesign.
this last event has made me more certain than ever that there is a fundamental problem at the cs4 core.
    can anyone help?
    please note the following:
i am running a macintosh imac, 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (latest imac), with 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 ram.
before this last disaster, i had reloaded the system software (archive and install), and updated it all the way to version 10.5.8
i then uninstalled the creative suite, ran the cleanscript from adobe, reloaded the creative suite, downloaded all the cs4 updates
(so, latest mac, latest system, latest cs4 – all clean installs).
is there something i can do? or is this just a very unstable and disappointing upgrade – i have had nothing but problems from day one!
many thanks if anyone has any advice.

Please try this KB article's solutions, and report back on how it went for you. If you can provide details about any recent OS updates, backups, or migrations, that would help is nail down the root cause of the new rash of this error for Mac users recently:

  • Can't open CS 5.0.4 Premiere Pro because of bin-file error.

    I'm on an:
    iMac
    OS X 10.6.8
    12 GB RAM
    3.06GHz
I've had trouble with CS5 so i upgraded to CS5.0.4 PP and I cant open my project. It's a large project, over an hour long movie. I've spent over 7 grand of my own cash on it and a year of my life. This means the world to me to fix.
whenever I open Premeire it says :
    Reverb
    Can not open bin-file.
i understand that is an audio plug in error and i've been searching for it 10 hours. I know if i find it, remove it from the folder, it will open with all my reverbed audio gone. I'm fine with that, I can not for the life of me figure it out.
    I'm begging for help.
    Thanks,
    Brett.

  • Sync File Corruption with 64-bit Vista/iTunes

I'm getting some file corruption problems when trying to sync my new 16GB iPhone with the latest 64-bit iTunes (7.6.0.29). "yes I have the 64-bit version".
The sync seems to go correctly, but I have yet to be able to play any videos all the way through. Videos purchased from iTunes as well as self encoded files. All said files were working on my 60GB iPod Video with previous versions of iTunes on the same 64-bit Vista machine.
The videos will start playing fine, but will eventually reach a point in the file that was corrupted during transfer, the audio will drop out and the video will distort, then it exits from the video as if it reached the end of the file. No error messages or anything. If I play the file again, it will do the same thing at the exact same spot, so its a problem in the file. Now, if I remove the file and add it back, the file still has the same problem, but in a different location, which means the source is fine, but the copy to the device during the sync is the issue.
To test, I synced the exact same content from my notebook which is 32-bit XP, and zero problems. So I'm currently just using my notebook for syncing at the moment.
Anyone else with 64-bit Vista have a similar issue?

    Hello
I have a couple troubleshooting steps I would like you to try. I myself do not have a 64 bit Vista so I can not test this to confirm if the same issue occurs or not.
    1. Attempt to Sync content using each of the USB Ports. See if all USB Ports pose the same issue with the video. Or if you found when where it does not occur.
    2. Test on a new user on the Vista Machine. If possible take at least one or 2 movies and copy them onto a flash drive or something. And bring them into iTunes on a new user account. You may need to Authorize that user and De-authorize when your done. Does the same issue occur?
    3. If you perform a reboot on the iPhone, Then Sync Data over. Does the same issue occur?
    4. If possible could you restore the iPhone. Then Re-sync and see if same issue occurs.
    5. Is this happening with all videos? or only certain ones? Does the corruption occur at the same time frame every time? If so is it the same time frame for all videos or slightly different?
    6. Perform an Uninstall and Reinstall of iTunes on your system, See if same issue occurs.
Let us know how it goes.
