Bind variable setting for standalone stackLayout VO region

How do I define the bind variable for this scenario? Eventually, I plan on adding this as a personalization to the requisition notification, so I figured I need the bind variable so I can link the region to the header (or is this not even the correct approach???).
I have a query with a bind variable defined (:1, which is the requisition_header_id) on a standaalone stackLayout region, and I tried defining the variable as an optional URL parameter (&1=14247), but when I run my test I continue to get the following:

Srini -
I did the following:
public void initQuery(String reqHeaderId)
if ((reqHeaderId!= null) && (!("".equals(reqHeaderId.trim()))))
addWhereClause("prl.requisition_header_id = :1");
setWhereClauseParams(null);
setWhereClauseParam(0,reqHeaderId);
executeQuery();
else
executeQuery();
I made it an addWhereClause because there's already a where clause in the VO query, wo I assumed this would just append to the rest of the where clause already there. My URL has $reqHeaderId=14247; however, now it looks like all distribution lines are being returned rather than just the one I expect in this example. So, is there something else I need to be doing?

  • Do not use bind variable notations for p_session_id argument...

    Hi there,
    ... in apex_custom_auth.login the Apex doc says. Does anyone know why not?
    LOGIN Procedure
    Also referred to as the "Login API," this procedure performs authentication and session registration.
    p_session_id Current Oracle Application Express session ID.
    Note: Do not use bind variable notations for p_session_id argument.Thanks

    I tend to avoid assigning values to bind variables like that - but it may be due to the nature of much of my code residing in PL/SQL packages.
    And due to the strange encounters I have had with this, like your linked discussions, I've tended towards using apex_util instead.

  • How to use bind variable value for table name in select statement.

    Hi everyone,
    I am having tough time to use value of bind variable for table name in select statement. I tried &p37_table_name. ,
    :p37_table_name or v('p37_table_name) but none worked.
    Following is the sql for interactive report:
    select * from v('p37_table_name') where key_loc = :P37_KEY_LOC and
    to_char(inspection_dte,'mm/dd/yyyy') = :P37_INSP_DT AND :p37_column_name is not null ;
    I am setting value of p37_table_name in previous page which is atm_state_day_insp.
    Following is error msg:
    "Query cannot be parsed, please check the syntax of your query. (ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended) "
    Any help would be higly appreciated.

    Interestingly enough I always had the same impression that you had to use a function to do this but found out from someone else that all you need to do is change the radio button from Use Query-Specific Column Names and Validate Query to Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only). Apex will substitute your bind variable for you at run-time (something you can't normally do in pl/sql without using dynamic sql)

  • Bind variable set error

    I get the exception when using bind variables in the VO (sql-based).
    VO is based on the SQL query from the pipelined table function, for instance: select * from table(some_function(:bind1, :bind2)). This query returns a table, which I want to display on the separate page.
    So, from fragmented bounded task flow make a call for the new taskflow (non-fragmented, bounded) in the dialog window. Specify the input parameters for the called taskflow. These parameters I get in called taskflow, it is ok. The very first activity in the called taskflow is the ExecuteWithParams method. I bind input parameters from the pageFlowScope to the ExecuteWithParams parameters, but IN PL/SQL FUNCTION (and ADF log) I SEE, THAT THESE PARAMETERS IS NULL, BUT ONLY FOR THE FIRST TIME THE EXECUTEWITHPARAMS IS CALLED.

  • Deployment Issues with Custom TS variables set for client

    Good Day folks!
    I have come across an interesting issue that I have not been able to find a quick fix as such I am looking for some ideas where to trouble shoot my issue moving forwards.
    So the Issue:
    I have a TS that deploys a Windows 8.1 SOE image, this is done first by using a PXE boot PE image for an “unknown” systems to load a Custom HTA. This HTA allows me manually add the system to SCCM and add it to a required deployments collection that has the
    8.1 SOE deployed to it.
    The HTA also sets a few custom variables for the system resource things like system location, Machine Domain etc.
    Once the HTA has run the system then has a delay to allow for the resource to show up tin the 8.1 deployment collection and then closes.
    Now all this appears to work fine, the system is added to the collection, reboots and the deployment runs from start to finish without error.
     I can also check the system resource and the variables are present.
    The problem I have found is that the custom variables for this resource are not being used by the TS after reboot.. upon further investigation I found that these variables are not even being retrieved ( ran a VB script to save all the variables from the
    TS to a txt file to check this )  Because of this the TS is bypassing some needed TS Tasks.
    A few interesting things to note:
    System appears to be added again when AD discovery is run…. So it causes a Duplicate.
    Client Dose connect to SCCM server after deployment but is not receiving deployments ( is getting some policy )
    Worked with SCCM 2012 but not 2012 R2
    So it appears that when the system reboots from the HTA PE step it has identified itself as an unknown system again…. Even though it has been manually added…
     I am interested to know if first of all if others would agree with this and second how SCCM while running a TS matches itself up to a system to retrieve the custom set variables before client install etc... Or a good place to start looking
    to dig up more information!  Or anything else!
    Thanks
    Stuart.

    Have you taken a look at this hotfix?

  • Oracle environment variable setting for mulit instances

    Dear experts,
    I am doing CRM_ABAP, CRM_JAVA,ERP installation based on Oracle in a laptop for SAP Best Practise.
    The CRM_ABAP installation have done, and start to install CRM_JAVA named CRJ.
    In CRM_ABAP installation, I set Oracle environment variable as below:(/etc/profile.d/oracle.sh)

    kindly help me to reslove the issue.

    Setting a Linux environment variable like ORACLE_SID to multiple values will not work.
    Use another oracle.sh, and maybe also another Linux user.
    I am not familiar with the details, but what does your installation guide say?
    Or you may have to use the same values for Java. The installation guide will tell you.

  • How to use bind variable value of one VO as initial value for other VO row?

    JDeveloper 10.1.3.3, ADF Faces, ADF BC
    Hi,
    I have two View Objects: one read only with several bound variables and another editable entity based. Correspondingly there are two ADF Faces pages: first contains search form based on the read-only VO and second create form based on the editable VO. The search form has several hidden fields for some of bound variables because they aren't edited directly by user. These fields are updated with PPR when user selects other search criteria from LOV.
    There is a command button in the first page that navigates to the second form. Is there any way to transfer values of bound variables from the first VO to the second VO as initial values of the new row?
    I tried to set custom controller for the second page and retrieve search criteria values from request parameter map but values from hidden fields are missing. I think because that these fields are updated by PPR. Of course I can add custom action method to the navigation button and in the method put these values to request parameter map but I hope there is better solution.
    Thanks,
    Marius

    To summarize, given a bind variable value for one VO, on creating a row in a second VO, for 1 of the attributes of the second VO, you want to use the first VO's bind variable value. Correct?
    A potential solution ADF BC driven:
    1) Ensure you have an AppModuleImpl for your AM
    2) Ensure you have a ViewImpl for your 1st VO (where the bind variable will exist) - lets refer to that VO as "Alpha"
    3) Ensure you have a ViewRowImpl for your 2nd VO (the one you want to default the value in) - lets refer to that VO as "Beta"
    4) For your first VO "Alpha" create the bind variable (say pValue)
    5) In your second VO "Beta" ViewRomImpl add following code:
    @Override
    protected void create(AttributeList attributeList) {
      super.create(attributeList);
      AppModuleImpl am = (AppModuleImpl)this.getApplicationModule();
      String someValue = am.getAlphaView1().getpValue();
      setSecondVOAttr(someValue); // change this code to whatever your setter is for the field you want to initialize.
    }Hope this helps. Let us know how you go.

  • A problem with bind variables in a shuttle

    Hi
    After days of research I cannot come up with a solution to this problem which I hope will be easy to describe.
    I'm working on an apex.oracle.com workspace (4.02).
    I have a page with
    a) a region with tree which works well populated by a list of roles and users
    b) a region with a shuttle with the following sql
    List of values
    select SOB_DISPNAME, SOB_ID
    from VIEW_SYSTEMOBJECT
    order by SOB_DISPNAME
    Source
    SELECT SOB_ID FROM VIEW_OBJECTSECURITY_GRANTED WHERE U_ID = :P19_SELECTED_ID
    :P19_SELECTED_ID is a hidden textbox with the currently selected users id.
    The above works very well - I select a user from the tree and the shuttle lhs populates with unselected object names and the rhs with objects selected for the user. A submit button drives a page process which clears out and then inserts the selection into a the table (objectsecurity)
    So far so good.
    I added a list box to the shuttle region (:P19_SOB_TYPE_LIST) so that the data being worked on could be filtered by type, its driven by a LOV that produces a value or 'PAGE', 'REPORT' ... etc.
    I updated the above SQL to be
    List of Values
    select SOB_DISPNAME, SOB_ID
    from VIEW_SYSTEMOBJECT WHERE SOB_TYPE = :P19_SOB_TYPE_LIST
    order by SOB_DISPNAME
    and the source
    SELECT SOB_ID FROM VIEW_OBJECTSECURITY_GRANTED WHERE U_ID = :P19_SELECTED_ID AND SOB_TYPE = :P19_SOB_TYPE_LIST
    So now I would expect that if 'PAGE' is selected in the list box then only objects that are pages will be seen.
    However nothing at all appears.
    If I substitute the bind variable :P19_SOB_TYPE_LIST for 'PAGE' ... WHERE SOB_TYPE = 'PAGE' it works perfectly. So why does :P19_SELECTED_ID do it's job but not P19_SOB_TYPE_LIST ?
    I am probably making some ridiculously simple mistake but I just cannot spot it; is my syntax wrong?.
    The session state is persisting so that I can see the value of :P19_SOB_TYPE_LIST being set to PAGE
    Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

    Hi Dirk
    Thanks for that which looked promising!
    I added P19_SOB_TYPE_LIST as the Cascading LOV Parent Item and removed it from the where clauses of both SQL's and the result was that all types are shown; corresponding to my original position.
    I then added the where clause back to the LOV SQL and both shuttle boxes are blank again
    I added back to the source SQL and again both boxes empty
    Finally I removed the where clause from the LOV SQL (the only other combination) and again lhs box populated with all rows (not filtered) and rhs box blank.
    So unfortunately that doesn't seem to have fixed it.
    Many thanks for the help and any more will be greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    Charles

  • Update before a report shows with bind variable

    I need to update a table before a report shows. This report have bind variable and I need bind variable value for clause where in update, how can I do that?
    I would thank so much any idea

    Mery,
    If I understand correctly your application should display a report when it is called.
    But first, before the report is displayed, you want to update a table, using a bind variable passed into the report when it is called. Do I understand correctly so far?
    So while editing the report, in the last tab option you have (Additional PL/SQL Code), you need to put some pl/sql code into section titled '...before displaying the page.'
    declare
    begin
    update table_x
    set column_x = somevalue
    where column_y = bind_variable;
    end;
    I haven't yet passed bind variables into reports so I'm not quite sure how to retrieve them, but I'm sure there are other postings here about that.
    I'm mostly just trying to clarify if this is what your asking, and maybe somebody else can answer the rest of your questions.
    Good luck.

  • LOV(af:selectOneChoice) with bind variable in af:table

    Hi All,
    I have a table where a column is defined as dropdown(af:selectOneChoice). The query for selectOneChoice has a bind variable which needs to be set as a value from the base view Object corresponding row.
    Suppose a table Employee
    EmpId EmpName EmpType Authorization
    101 John Temp No
    The above table is created as af:table and 'Authorization' is implemented as dropdown(af:selectOneChoice) . The selectOneChoice has a query(AuthorizationLovVVO) with bind variable . For each row of af:table(EmployeeVO) , af:selectOneChoice query(AuthorizationLovVVO) requires
    the corresponding row(EmployeeVO) 'EmpType' to be set as value of bind variable.
    Can you please suggest how can we achieve this functionality.

    I have checked the following post where it has been suggested to access the the current row value as groovy expression.
    groovy for bind variable
    Suppose my AM name is 'TestAM' , i have tried the below expressions for value of bind variable but it does not work :
    1) adf.object.TestAM.findViewObject('EmployeeVO1').currentRow.EmpType
    2) adf.object.TestAMDataControl.findViewObject('EmployeeVO1').currentRow.EmpType
    None of the above expressions work and i get the error while running the page as 'Variable NotesAM is not recognized.' / 'Variable NotesAMDataControl is not recognized.' .
    Can you please suggest if we can achieve the functionality using this approach . Also let me know if i am missing something in the above expression.

  • Bind Variable : required - no message, not required - error

    hi
    Please consider the example application created using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0
    at http://www.consideringred.com/files/oracle/2012/RequiredOrNotBVarApp-v0.01.zip
    It has these View Objects defined
    - EmployeesReqNoValueBVarVO which has a required Bind Variable, and where clause "last_name like '%' || :LastNameBVar || '%'"
    - EmployeesNotReqNoValueBVarVO which has a NOT required Bind Variable, and where clause "(:LastNameBVar is null or last_name like '%' || :LastNameBVar || '%')"
    The Bind Variable in both View Objects does NOT have a value (no default value, not programmatically set, not entered by the user, ...).
    This "no value set" aspect could be the result of a "development error", but the resulting observed behaviour is at least "peculiar".
    - scenario (sc1) : run "try tryEmployeesReqNoValueBVarVO", see a table filled with rows and NO message about the required Bind Variable
    - scenario (sc2) : run "try tryEmployeesNotReqNoValueBVarVO", see "No data to display." in the table and the "Missing IN or OUT parameter at index:: 1" error for the NOT required Bind Variable for a where clause that can deal with null values
    - question (q1) How can be explained that scenario (sc1) does not result in an error message about the required Bind Variable (and scenario (sc2) does result in an error message about the NOT required Bind Variable)?
    - question (q2) What does the "Required" checkbox for a Bind Variable really mean for Bind Variables used in a where clause of a View Object?
    If the described behaviour can be reproduced (using RequiredOrNotBVarApp-v0.01.zip), confirmations are welcome.
    (Aspects of these scenario's could be related to forum thread "Bind variable required/not required: strange behaviour".)
    many thanks
    Jan Vervecken

    Thanks for your reply Frank.
    Frank Nimphius wrote:
    ... your query actually is dependent on the existence of the bind variable because the bind variable is used in the where clause part. ...Sure, and the Bind Variable does exist (in both (sc1) and (sc2)).
    ... This has nothing to do with whether the bind variable value is checked for NULL and if the value it contains is NULL performs an "all you can eat" type of query. Because the existing, NOT required Bind Variable has not been given a value in scenario (sc2), the check for NULL only makes more explicit that NULL is a valid value for the SQL statement.
    ... Non required bind variables are used in the context of view criteria to avoid missing IN or OUT parameters. ...The "Required" checkbox for a Bind Variable is also available/enabled when the Bind Variable is not used in a View Criteria (in both (sc1) and (sc2)).
    ... In the case of a view criteria, the VO query may be executed without the view criteria applied and for this reason should not fail only because the defined bind variable is not provided. ...No View Criteria in the scenario's (sc1) and (sc2) I descirbe.
    ... If you run the query in the tester, you get
    (java.sql.SQLException) Missing IN or OUT parameter at index:: 1
    and no query is executed at all for EmployeesNotReqNoValueBVarVOSure, that matches scenario (sc2), but the Bind Variable can be configured as NOT required, how can it be missing?
    The JDeveloper help page "Create or Edit Bind Variables Dialog - Variable Page" says:
    "... Alternatively, you can use the SQL Statement page of the Edit View Objects dialog to enter a parameterized WHERE clause. Note that the bind variables you enter in a parameterized SQL WHERE clause will require a valid value at runtime or a runtime exception error will be thrown. ..."
    So, null as a valid value, seems to explain the behaviour in scenario (sc1).
    "... In contrast, when you create a view criteria filter condition that references a named bind variable, you can specify whether the value is required or optional. ..."
    But, the "Required" checkbox is also available (to uncheck) for Bind Variables that are not used in a View Criteria.
    Specifically for the "Required" checkbox the help page says : "... Select if you want to make the value of a name bind variable required for any usage the references the named bind variable. For example, when the value is required (default), all view criteria items that reference the named bind variable will fail to execute unless a valid value is supplied at runtime. Alternatively, you can leave the value not required and use the Create View Criteria dialog to specify whether or not individual view criteria items require the value. ..."
    Again, the focus is on View Criteria, although it can also be unchecked (configuring as NOT Required) for Bind Variables that are not used in a View Criteria (which does not seem to be something you should do).
    But, still, there is a perspective here that makes this possibly very confusing:
    - a View Object where clause with a required Bind Variable, no value set --> results in rows, and NO message about a missing value
    - a View Object where clause with a NOT required Bind Variable, no value set --> results in no rows, and a message about a missing value

  • BUG ? :  ADF creating extra VO instance using bind variables in a LOV query

    ADF 11.1.1.1.0
    After "playing around" with bind variables Setting bind variables in view objects for LOV I've come across something strange that I've reproduce using the HR schema and tables Employees and Departments. Its a bit long but here goes :
    Using the HR schema tables departments and employeesI'm trying to create a LOV (selectOneChoice) for the
    employee department, the LOV having a bind variable that limits the values returned in this case returning only DepartmentId = 50
    I've create a VO lovDepartment (not based on an EO) with the following query :
    SELECT Departments.DEPARTMENT_ID,
           Departments.DEPARTMENT_NAME,
           Departments.MANAGER_ID,
           Departments.LOCATION_ID
    FROM DEPARTMENTS Departments
    where DEPARTMENT_ID  = :pDeptIdA LOV has been defined on the DepartmentId attribute of the EmployeesView.
    The lovDepartmentImpl overrides the executeQueryForCollection to set the bind variable value.
        @Override
        protected void executeQueryForCollection(Object object, Object[] object2,

            super.executeQueryForCollection(object, object2, i);
        }When using an ADF form to create a new employee the DepartmentId lov is empty.

    when you rinvoke executeQueryForCollection the bind variables are allready set and they exist in Object[] object2 method parameters.
    in order to change them you need something like:
    private void changeGenericBindVariable(Object[] params, String paramName, Object paramValue) {
    for (int i = 0; i < params.length; i++) {
    if (paramName.equals(((Object[])params)[0].toString()))
    ((Object[])params[i])[1] = paramValue;
    * executeQueryForCollection - overridden for custom java data source support.
    protected void executeQueryForCollection(Object qc, Object[] params,
    int noUserParams) {
    changeGenericBindVariable(params, "pDeptId", "50")
    super.executeQueryForCollection(object, object2, i);
    But its better to set bind variables before you executeQueryForCollection. like when you invoke LOV.
    For cascading LOVs and the problems i have check:

    In the class AccountEventsAction that extends PagingDataForwardAction I have following initializeModelForPage method.
      protected void initializeModelForPage(DataActionContext ctx)
        System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".initializeModelForPage BEGIN "+System.currentTimeMillis());
        WebAccountAM webAccountAM = (WebAccountAM) this.getApplicationModule(WebConstants.AM_WEBACCOUNT,ctx);
        if (webAccountAM == null)
         // return error
         System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".initializeModelForPage webAccountAM not found.");
        else
          UserContainer userContainer = this.getUserContainer(ctx);
          Row row = webAccountAM.prepareModelForEventAccountOwnerList(userContainer.getAccountId());
          if (row != null)
          System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".initializeModelForPage userContainer.getAccountId(): "+userContainer.getAccountId()+", EventId: "+row.getAttribute("EventId")+", current row key: "+row.getKey());
          else
          System.out.println(getClass().getName()+".initializeModelForPage userContainer.getAccountId(): "+userContainer.getAccountId()+", First row is null? "+(row == null));
          super.initializeModelForPage(ctx);
        }To my knowledge because this page is accessible only after login and the VO passivation state (+bind vars ..) is yes it shouldn't be necessary?
    FIRST PROBLEM:(non blocking)
    =============
    I noticed in my trace that the VO current row is null when the service method gets called in the initializeModelForPage binding method?
    So the query gets re-exceuted, is this normal??
    SECOND PROBLEM (blocking)
    ================
    At some point the Web app. the frameworks calls the executeQueryForCollection and an exception is thrown as if the bind variable was lost???

    Your help is required and will be appreciated
    Fred

    More info:
    I added a trace in the executeQueryForCollection method of the VO.
    As I said before the binding var is set on login and in initializeModelForPage
    but when the executeQueryForCollection is called by framework later on in the action cycle, it is called without any parameters => bind variables = numUserParams: 0 ??
    trace extract
    com.photoswing.model.site.EventAccountOwnerListExtVOImpl.executeQueryForCollection this.accountId: null, numUserParams: 0, DEFAULT_VALUES[0]: 0
    I suppose that some code must be added so that my bind variables will be part of the passivation process.
    Can you help me with that?
    Thanks for your time.

    PS It's my second day on this problem.

  • Bind variables not available when overriding criteria item clause

    Hello -
    Using jdev 11.1.1.3.0. Using ADFBC.
    In a view object I am overriding getCriteriaItemClause in order to produce a clause for a view criteria of the form
    my_column in ( select a_column from a_table where a_field = :MyBindVariable )I have created the bind variable ("MyBindVariable") for my view object and checked the "Include bind variable accessors" box in the Java options panel for the view object. When I use the view object I call the setMyBindVariable method with a value before I call the execute method. However, when
    I call the execute method it gives a JBO-27122 error.
    oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException) JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation.  Statement: << query here, with the appropriate where clause that refers to the bind variable >>
    ----- Level 1: Detail 0 -----
    (java.sql.SQLException) Missing IN or OUT parameter at index:: 1I have tested this code by running the application module tester. With it I am:
    1. Right-clicking on my view object and selecting "Operations"
    2. Choosing the setMyBindVariable operation, providing a parameter value, and hitting the "Execute" button.
    3. Choosing the getMyBindVariable operation, hitting the "Execute" button and verifying that I get the right value back.
    4. Right-clicking on my view object and selecting "Re-execute query". I get the JBO-27122 error as described above.
    2nd approach (this also didn't work): I have additionally tried creating the clause above using the bind variable value instead of the reference. In getCriteriaItemClause, I would call getMyBindVariable to get the bind variable value and construct the above clause this way:
    my_column in ( select a_column from a_table where a_field = literal_value_stored_in_view_object_bind_variable )However, when I tried this approach, getMyBindVariable always returned null.
    Is there some reason why the bind variable isn't "available" when executing the query even though I specifically set it?
    Thank you for reading my question.

    Have you seen this blog http://jobinesh.blogspot.com/2010/12/using-oraclejbodomainarray-with.html ?
