Binding to selectOneMenu

Question

Hi I have having problems binding my selectOneMenu (myfaces), exception is argument type mismatch.

Which object shouuld i bind too...or am is the problem something different?

Thanks for your replies. I will look into the converter and the Tomahawk controls.
BalusC, why is it poor? I want to avoid doing object lookups based on a selected value in a selectOnMenu? If anything, I think this is a good reason. The selectOneMenu would have objects associated with the menu items. I would then be able to get the selected object and use it.
The utility method you are talking about forces me to constantly keep(and maintain) an array list that I will have to load, loop through, find an object by a specific key, and return it.
What is a good reason to avoid building a list of SelectItems?
