Bitmap move jitter

Hi Guys,
I made small test with iPad2 and android Sony Xperia Arc. I have a transparent png 200x50px imported to flash. Fps is set to 30. I move this small png 1px to the left every frame. Quite simple, but the result is not that smooth as I would expect. Everything looks fine and smooth, but once in a second I can see some jittering. Looks like it jumps 1px back and forth. On both devices.
My queston is, is this normal? Does anyone have the same issue? Any help will be appreciated.
Many thanks...
Note:
stage.quality = "high" - didn't help
mc.cacheAsBitmap = true - didn't help

Ou, GPU rendering didn't help as well...

  • Images that zoom and move jitter after render.

    I have a bunch of pictures that I put to music. Some move across the screen or zoom slowly. The images move smoothly until I render them, then it's like the images are on some bumpy path or something. They jitter or bump as they move.
    I have de-interlaced the images, have changed the image formats, added max flicker filter, ensured that my render settings were at 100%, have redone the motion, have doubled the resolution of the image file (just in case the pixels were conflicting or having trouble at that resolution), and have adjusted settings in the individual item's properties.
    My project was supposed to be delivered to the customer yesterday, but there's no way I'm going to deliver a jittery video. The problem is also equally noticeable on the DVD I produced . I have never had this problem in the past. Like I say, when the render bar is green, everything is smooth. After render, bumpy motion. All the motion (for the most part) is perfectly horizontal or vertical.
    Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    I had the exact same problem and was able to overcome it using a hack... this seems to be a bug in FCE.
    I fixed it by rotating all my original images 90 degrees, replacing them in the timeline, rotating them back, then applying the zoom effects. They look perfect now. (Strange but true.)
    Anyone with a better solution to this issue?

  • Exporting a jpg is 3 times larger than CS3

    Clearly I'm missing some setting - I'm opening jpgs that had been created with FW CS3 and immediately saving it (for troubleshooting purposes). Optimize Quality is set to 75 | Smoothing 2. The file is fully 3 times larger than it was prior to save. I've exported instead of the straight Save and have the same result. I've lowered the Quality to 60 to make sure I was invoking the compressor ... the file lost 2k.
    So a 260x83 bitmap moves from an acceptable 5k to 17k (or 15 with unacceptable compression level)?
    Can't be right. Not even Adobe could have mucked up FW this badly.

    Not too certain about this, but the increase in file size might be due to additional meta data in the file - that easily adds ~10kb to the file, so it might explain what you are seeing. But as far as I am aware, the save for web functionality in FW should remove meta data.
    Use RIOT (radical image optimization tool) (win) or ImagOptim (mac) to check if this is the case or not, and remove the meta data.

  • Flash CS5.5 - Out of memory

    Hi,
    I have a project here that, all of the sudden, I can't export the SWF. The first couple of times it gave me and "out of memory" error in the Java subsystem or something and to change the value of memory in the jvm.ini. I did but nothing changed.
    When I do ctrl+enter to test the movie, I see the "exporting SWF movie" process dialog and after like 3 minutes Flash crashes. It doesn't give an error now. It just closes.
    I notice that when I open the project, Flash is using  408Mb of RAM. When I export, it jump to 1.5Gb, stays there for a bit and then crashes.
    A log is also generated. These are the first lines:
    # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
    # java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: requested 655360 bytes for GrET in C:\BUILD_AREA\jdk6_18\hotspot\src\share\vm\utilities\growableArray.cpp. Out of swap space?

    What can I do to fix this issue?
    If anyone from Adobe want, I can send the full log file.
    Using Windows 7 Pro 64 Bits, 4 Gb of RAM.

    Believe me; I’ve already lost all my work, when it was about finished, but due to another issue. I’m currently creating that same project from scratch but I’m having this new issue now.
    The reason why the FLA is so big it’s because there’s a 90Mb wave file in it and I need to see it in the timeline for easy mouth synchronization.
    I've already deleted all unused bitmaps, movie clips, etc.
    I don’t really think the problem is there because, like I said at the beginning of this post, this is the second attempt at a project that has almost finished. It had more bitmaps, more movie clips, a bigger timeline and the same wave file back then and there was no memory errors and it exported just fine. (expect the last time when it crashed and somehow corrupted the fla file and I lost everything)
    I’ll try later to compress the wave to mp3 and import that to the project to see if the changes anything but I doubt it. Plus it might create an offset in the timeline. Flash doesn’t like sound files in the timeline

  • About full motion

    I have tow questions:
    the full motion I recorded is very large,I use fmr_editor to
    edit, but still large,if I view it through web,it is slowly
    I only want to a bitmap move, the full motion is so large,I
    make a swf import to the captivate, but it's position can not align
    to the next slide
    can anyone slove this problem?

    Select all and Hide all the slides in the filmstrip (rightclick when in the filmstrip) then UNHIDE the one you are pubishing, this will result in only publishing the one you have deselected. You will have to pubish 70 times, but it will save you from cutting and pasting them into new projects.

  • How Do I Make Bitmap, Graphic, or Movie Clip into a clickable link??

    I am designing a website entirely in flash (macromedia flash) but I cannot get the bitmap, graphics, or movie clips clickable links, although when hovered over turns into a hand.  Any suggestions? I have also tried the following script;
    on (release){
    getURL("http://www.google.com/", "_blank")
    Obviously I didnt use google, but still no go.
    I'm hot linking the raw fla file below.  I bought this template online and have modified it alot (all cosmetic) but I cant get the tabs to be links!?  I used action script (the one posted above) in every layer and the text inside the tabs.  But still doesnt work Does anybody know whats wrong?
    Sorry, but I dont know much in action script, I'm a c++ and web designer, this is my first time working in only flash.
    http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/2449178_iizru/_menu2_fv8.fla
    Here is my modded template in my website:  http://9karim.com/adminI only need to modify the menu bar

    I wouldn't say you're screwed, you just have some work ahead of you to find out what are actually the buttons in that thing.  If you look at the file on stage you'll see a large turquoise shape (an invisible button) that when you select it shows it has an instance name of "menu"... I still couldn't figure out what it has to do with those animated tabs, but it may lead to further discoveries.
    There's a lot of stuff woven into that file, and with the frame by frame animation, it's hard to isolate just about anything.  Based on what I see in the library as far as object naming goes, and your not knowing what's where, I'd conclude that this is an "acquired" design that has been decompiled into the fla you are trying to figure out.  While I haven't any experience with decompiled files, it wouldn't surprise me if there is an increased level of complexity as a result of how the decompiler rebuilt the file.

  • Exporting movie made with bitmaps - problem

    Hey mates,
    Its REALLY important ill get it done in the next 8 hours, i need to present this somewhere.
    so ill really appreciate a quick solution if possible...
    i made a scene in a 3d software, and rendered the whole scene to bitmaps frame by frame,
    i then imported all these frames to premiere
    and when i export it and try to make it a movie,
    it plays but when there is motion the frames get stuck and the video keeps playing, as if half the frame of one of the bitmaps got stuck, and the rest is playing or something...
    i dont use much premiere and my knowledge in it is really limited.
    the movie is made up of 9022 frames, including sound,
    the bitmaps are in a resolution of 1024 on 764
    so my export res is the same...
    is it a problem with the compressor i choose? there are so many, and tbh i have NO idea what each one means, except for divx, and AVI etc
    but there are settings for frame rate, and pixel aspect ratio and even bit depth and fields, and i dont know what are the settings best used in my situation of exporting bitmaps... or maybe its not even the settings? no idea...
    if anyone can help, PLEASE help me solve this issue, i'm criticaly short on time, i HAVE to present this work today...
    p.s
    When i exported to uncompressed AVI it was a file of 24GB and it refused to play, the player(s) said its an unknown or unsupported filetype,
    and i have zillion of codecs already, i doubt its the problem.
    thanks in advance

  • Strange jitter of objects in rendered MOV.

    After many, many, many crashes in Motion, I finally got my project to render out using Compressor. The standard "Export" from Motion worked while my project was under 30 seconds, but now that I'm almost pushing 60 seconds it is crashing left and right. Extremely frustrating.
    Anyway, I'd you guys to take a look at like the last 10 seconds of this clip. When the "postcards" come on and the globe is spinning in the back, everything just starts jittering. Nothing else in the video has the symptom, and it doesn't look like this in the Motion canvas. Any thoughts, cures, explanations?
    http://www.jmvdigital.com/motion_vid.mov
    Note: That is a 15mb file (564x720 @ 59fps). Sorry for the size and length, but I got one render in a day, I've run out of patience to try a smaller one. The sad thing is that the final project is due in 1280x720 uncompressed... I hope it will even make it out Motion.
    Thanks,
    -Justin

    Ok, update....
    Turns out that jitter on the globe is indeed happening in Motion (I just didn't notice it before). The clip is only affected when the postcard images come on screen. It shifts on the X-axis (appears to the same pixel shift amount also) only, and will do so in an in/out/in/out patter with each frame. The jitter occurs every other frame even when the postcards are stationary on the canvas. The jitter is also not apparent when I hide the postcards layer. So it is clearly caused by those images, and probably something to do with the 2k limit.
    Any other words of help? I have the globe clip and postcards both in seperate containing layer. These two layers have the "fixed resolution" box checked. Though there are the 8 layers contained WITHIN the top postcard layer... those sublayers do not have "fixed res" on. Doing so completely screws them up. Can I not do the zoom/fade treatment?
    I don't know much about field ordering, or why the globe clip would only jitter when the postcards are on screen.

  • How to break a bitmap into several movie clips

    Hello,
    I have a bitmap imported into library and need to break it
    with ActionScript2.0 into several bitmaps, using a rectangular
    grid. The smaller bitmaps have to become movie clips so they can be
    animated further.
    The resulting animation should be: bitmapped picture breaks
    into tiles which fly away...
    Possible? Thanks for help

    Yes, I want to have an image and break it into tiles at
    runtime using AS2.0. Each tile should become a MovieClip so that I
    can add some simple code for random movement for each tile. That
    way they'll fly away. (later I want to make modifications to make
    an opposite effect - tiles fly randomly until they make up a
    picture again, or there's room for a bunch of other effects...)

  • Using movie format to load bitmaps?

    I am making a game which has a serious amount of animated
    bitmaps. So far I have loaded all frames as individual images, but
    its clear this approach will result in a monster download as
    individual PNG files do not compress well for animations at all.
    So, I am considering loading FLV files compressed using H264,
    with an alpha channel (8-bit alpha channels are crucial in my
    game). This will take care of the size problem.
    However, I cannot play FLV files directly, as the game
    features hundreds of animated sprites at the same time, and
    decoding the animation from H264 for each one in real time is just
    too slow.
    My idea is to load the movie, then extract individual frames
    from it as BitmapData objects, with the alpha channel intact.
    But, so far, I have not found a way to extract all frames
    from a FLV movie into BitmapData objects.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi NED! thank you for all your help so far!!!
    I was wondering about the flexability of loading movies into a movie clip.
    Currently, thanks to your help i am well able to load one movie into a movie "loader" clip, but thought maybe there is a way to load additional movie clips into that same "loader" clip, as i am starting to accumulate several different graphics that i need to have be inside movie clips so that i can make them change colors on the same frame when needed.
    i shot from the hip and tried this code, but didnt have any luck:
    mc_LCD_loader.attachMovie("hilight", "g", 1), ("header", "X", 1);
    mc_LCD_loader.g._x = 0;
    mc_LCD_loader.g._y = 1000;
    mc_LCD_loader."X"._x = 0;
    mc_LCD_loader."X"._y = 1000;
    - - - where "hilight" is the identifier name of a given movie clip and "header" is the identifier of a given movie clip in the same library...
    "hilight" loads fine
    i dont fully understand what "g" means to the identifier...
    i am just unsure of how or if it is even possible to load another MC into the same MC Loader...
    is it possible? if so could you give me a hint?
    thank you!

  • HDV captured create movie for iDVD, lot of jitter and jagged interlace play

    Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I wanted to downconvert from HDV capture / edit, and then just create a standard video dvd for normal tv playback. Picture looks like it will be outstanding, but any movement results in horrible jitter and jagged edges. What am I doing wrong?

    Wow thanks for quick reply. Apologies I didn't give full info.
    I am viewing DVD on TV - well a plasma being played via DVD on PS3.
    BUT, DVPRO50 is the only output that shows a "smooth" movie, if I playback on the canvas at 50% the interlace line are gone due to the scaling BUT the movie plays jumpy, so the DVPRo50 method is the only way I can get a smooth pan for example, every other method just gives a jumpy playback on DVD.
    iDVD is set to Production quality, when I do a QT movie direct to iDVD without the DVPRO50, the quality is better but the movie is jumpy.
    The movie is also 47 minutes long - it's quite big, file produced is about 19GB.
    Also I understand about getting HD quality and BlueRay disk etc, but I would expect to get DVD quality from iDVD, doing the DVPRO50 conversion makes it pretty bad. but smooth!
    As I said the anooying things is when I exported to MP4 on quicktime at 1080 HD and 18000kbps and 29.97 it also plays smooth for a short bursts of a few seconds (albeit jumping every second to 25 -> 29.97 issues), in 25 fps it's just blurry and jumpy. (playback on PS3)
    Thanks

  • Bitmap Font gets blurry when its swf is loaded into a movie clip

    I have a gallery i'm working on, located here:
    http://www.stationarynotes.com/portfolio/Gallery.html
    If you click the first button (the one that looks like a
    splattered "S" in black ink) you'll see that my bitmap text gets
    rendered all blurry. That swf which is being loaded renders fine
    when I test it by itself. The text is positioned with whole numbers
    and aligns to the grid within its own swf, and the movie clip which
    receives it is also positioned with whole numbers. Do you think
    perhaps when it is loaded into another MC it is being pushed off of
    the grid somehow...? I'm really confused.
    I can post my .flas if that'll help.

    bitmap fonts look best when positioned on a whole pixel
    number (100.0 instead of 100.4 for example).
    If you are loading into an empty clip - try placing that clip
    on the nearest whole number. or you
    could load the external swf to a level with will position it
    at 0,0 (upper left corner of stage).

  • Can I render a Flash frame as a bitmap and send it over TCP/IP?

    I want to draw some combination of bitmaps, flash shapes, vectors, text etc and draw them programmatically into my movie using ActionScript, and then get every "rendered" pixel of my movie (at 100% view) into an array that I send to another program over TCP/IP. Can anyone help me here?
    The first part of the question is if its possible to render a frame that is a collection of Flash elements as a bitmap? I know that I can iterate through a bitmap and get every pixel using the getPixel method but I'm trying to access the final rendered frame displayed on my screen, including, as I said Flash shapes and text.
    The second question is what would be the best way to send this "video frame" over TCP/IP? Would I use an XML socket connection? That is the only way I know how to send data out of Flash over TCP/IP but I don't know if it is the only way - the help page says the data needs to be formatted as XML, which seems unwieldly for this application.
    I'm doing this now by using Max/MSP/Jitter to do a screen capture the size and location of my Flash movie and then send out the resulting matrix using a "jit.net.send" object (which lets you send frames of video over TCP/IP), but this is too clumsy for the installation I am building.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    -bob

    Thanks! That was exactly what I was looking for in the first half of the question. And I guess the draw() method works in AS2 as well as AS3. I will test it but from what I understand, I can use a Bitmap as kind of my bottom-level container, then create (in ActionScript) a movie clip that can contain other movie clips or drawing API commands or whatever, animate these various elements then finally draw() them into the bitmap. I see that in AS3 I can even use getPixels or getVector to capture the full "video frame" in one line of code.
    Thanks rothrock, for the helpful links. My application is kind of unusual, in that I'm sending "video" data to a proprietary LED controller box for display on a low resolution LED display. I connect to the box over TCP/IP and send it "frames of video" 20 times a second. I got this to work with this other content and software (Max/MSP/Jitter) and I want to see how I could capture all the rendered pixel data in successive frames of Flash animation, format it properly, then send it over TCP/IP to this controller box. Don't really now enough about the various flavors of TCP/IP connections to figure out how to do this in Flash, and I know there are security limitations built in to Flash that have to be worked around. But my movies are small (say 96 pixels by 72 pixels) and I need to send uncompressed data directly to my controller box, so these interesting links showing how to use server-side scripts to create jpgs or pngs are probably not going to help me. I will hopefully find a higher-level programmer than myself to work this out, and I think some of the techniques here will hopefull prove to be helpful.
    Thanks again for your help!

  • Dual monitor use audio output for movie and other for MBP

    I know on mackbooks I've seen firewire used as an input for a Weiss Dac if you're into two channel audio.  Do any reiceivers take firewire as an input for hometheater?  Has anyone tested Firewire outputs on their W series?  I'm told that firewire is sometimes preferable to USB, I'm not sure why this would be, can USB support passthrough of DTS encoded signals?
    In the case that firewire works and you Do not have a firewire source, maybe something like this would be of value  It converts firewire to digital coaxial s/pdif and allows passthrough of DTS and AC3.
    http://www.m-audio.com/images/global/manuals/FireWire-Audiophile_Manual.pdf
    As I'm into audio the critical thing here (and what you're paying for when you purchase blue-ray, is maintaining the digital information from the disk in an unconverted form.  You want a direct bit pass through, and you want as little jitter introduced to the signal as possible.  You most certainly don't want the sound card getting in the way, Digtital to Analog converting and then reverse packaging it up and putting it out over the soundcard digital out.  My problem is I'm not familiar enough with computer audio to know how exactly the sounds is transmitted from your blue ray drive to the digital interface you've chosen.
    Anyone know why USB digital out would not be a prefered method?
