Strange jitter of objects in rendered MOV.

After many, many, many crashes in Motion, I finally got my project to render out using Compressor. The standard "Export" from Motion worked while my project was under 30 seconds, but now that I'm almost pushing 60 seconds it is crashing left and right. Extremely frustrating.
Anyway, I'd you guys to take a look at like the last 10 seconds of this clip. When the "postcards" come on and the globe is spinning in the back, everything just starts jittering. Nothing else in the video has the symptom, and it doesn't look like this in the Motion canvas. Any thoughts, cures, explanations?
http://www.jmvdigital.com/motion_vid.mov
Note: That is a 15mb file (564x720 @ 59fps). Sorry for the size and length, but I got one render in a day, I've run out of patience to try a smaller one. The sad thing is that the final project is due in 1280x720 uncompressed... I hope it will even make it out Motion.
Thanks,
-Justin

Ok, update....
Turns out that jitter on the globe is indeed happening in Motion (I just didn't notice it before). The clip is only affected when the postcard images come on screen. It shifts on the X-axis (appears to the same pixel shift amount also) only, and will do so in an in/out/in/out patter with each frame. The jitter occurs every other frame even when the postcards are stationary on the canvas. The jitter is also not apparent when I hide the postcards layer. So it is clearly caused by those images, and probably something to do with the 2k limit.
Any other words of help? I have the globe clip and postcards both in seperate containing layer. These two layers have the "fixed resolution" box checked. Though there are the 8 layers contained WITHIN the top postcard layer... those sublayers do not have "fixed res" on. Doing so completely screws them up. Can I not do the zoom/fade treatment?
I don't know much about field ordering, or why the globe clip would only jitter when the postcards are on screen.

  • Authorization Object Related To Movement Type

    Hi,
I meet one problem, one user want to check which user can use MB1A t-code with movement type 201 and 202, but I know there are some authorization object related to movement type and I want to use suim with mb1a t-code and authorization object to check the user, but I don't know the authorization object about movement type in MB1A t-code, does anyone can help?

Go to SU24, enter the transaction code and press execute.
Here you can see the all authorization object whose are used for the transaction code MB1C.

  • Rendered movie is wrong

I have created a title sequence in LT 2.1.4. I created a .m4v slideshow video from iPhoto and placed this movie in the LT timeline around 5 seconds (it's the "display" iPhoto slideshow export size -- it's very large). The entire movie is a little under 4 minutes long.
When I place start/end points at about 0 and 30 seconds and File->Render Preview, the output is fine -- all the title sequences are there and the background movie renders properly. Woo hoo!
But when I File->Render Movie and watch the resulting .mov, the output is just plain wrong. The motion just stops periodically (i.e., there are many repeated frames -- for 2-10 seconds at a time), there are many missing effects, etc.
I have LT 2.1.4 -- is that the latest? I can't seem to find anywhere to download updates. I'm running SL 10.6.2.
Is this a known issue? Are there any workaround?
Let me know if I can provide any further details. Many thanks for any advice that anyone can offer.

    Hmm.
    1. I checked the LT docs, and it says that MPEG-4 is supported. I don't seem to be able to attach anything to this post, so I'll just have to cite that I went to Help->LiveType User Manual, and looked at page 43 -- it says:
"LiveType can import background elements in a variety of formats:
    * MPEG-2 and MPEG-4
    2. I used a slightly different export option in iPhoto to export the slideshow: selecting "custom export" selected saving to a "Quicktime Movie". This produced a .mov file. So I used that as my background movie in LT. But the same behavior occurs -- the preview rendering is fine (although there is no sound -- forgot to mention that in my original post), but the actual rendering (where it produces a .mov) is just wrong.
FWIW, running the "file" command on both of the exported iPhoto files (the .m4v and the .mov) results in "ISO Media, MPEG v4 system, version 2", whereas running file on the rendered .mov from LT results in "ISO Media, Apple QuickTime movie". It makes me wonder if iPhoto really made a Quicktime movie or if it just used the same mp4 encoding and just named the file .mov instead of .m4v...
    I'll keep trying.
I suspect that you are right that the Best way to do this is to slurp in the movie into FCE and import the LT titles into it in a separate track. I might end up doing that, but I'd like to give my current approach a few more tries before I give up and learn more about FCE... it should work, according to the docs, anyway...

  • Start moving object during a movie

Ok I'm making objects "float away" using motion 5.
So far I have all the objects and using the record feature and moving the playhead to where I want and then moving the object so it moves over the path over that amount of time.
Things are all moving from the start of the clip.
Basically what is happening is a balloon is floating in, and "grabing" and object already visible and floating away with the object.
I have all the objects moving right etc etc but I cant get the chair to stay still for "x" frames and then start moving. The record feature only moves an object from the begining.
I even tried having one chair in the timeline while the balloon was moving into position, then a new chair on the timeline in the exact same position on the canvas then move this second chair which only "appears" half way through the video, but motion starts moving this second chair even before it appears so when it does appear it is half to its destination!!
    I've two ideas
    1. start moving this second chair from the begining but on a huge path so when it gets to that point on the timeline it is in the position of the first chair and it just continues moving from there.
    2. create two seperate movies, one of the balloon moving into position and the other of the chair floating away and stich them in FCP
How can i do this properly in motion 5?
    Regards

    hi,
as you state, when you add keyframes to an object somewhere on the timeline, Motion will automatically add a keyframe to the start of that object. Sometimes this isnt what you want. So my advice is go to the start of the timeline add a keyframe for your chair. Now go forward to where you want it to start moving and add another keyframe. The chair hasnt moved but you've just locked it in place with another keyframe. Now go forwards again to where you want it to move to and add another keyframe for it in its new postion.
There's a little gotcha here that can sometimes throw things off. The default animaiton type for keyframes is often a bezier curve. This means that although point A and Point B are equal, the object seems to move out and into place. To fix this you need to open the Keyframes editor, control click on the keyframes in question and select Linear as the animation type. Now it wont move til its meant to.

  • What happened to the "Object .. Move to . . . Master Foreground" option?

The Muse "Working With Master Pages" tutorial and other documentation suggest that "Object .. Move to . . . Master Foreground" is how you place images in single pages behind Master Page elements.  I don't have that option in my version of Muse CC.  Please advise.

Thanks again for your prompt response.  I'm still not clear on the role of Master Pages under this new functionality.  For example, if I place a logo and Main Menu on the main layer of the Master (which I want to be constant throughout the site), it seems to stay in the background when I create other objects on pages, even when I create new layers.  Do I simply create the "logo/menu" on the single page and replicate the layer to all the other pages.
That's fine, but is there any use or value to the master, if at some point something will overlay one of its elements?  If that's the case, please confirm and it will all make sense.

  • Script Object when rendering to HTML

    Hi,
I am developing a form that requires the same script to be reused many times. This form is going to be rendered out to HTML through Workflow, and I'm not sure how to access a script object when rendering to HTML. The root of my form is MISForm so I tried this:
    MISForm.variables.getXML.getXMLDoc("http://lcwftest:8080/services/getEmployeeInfo?method=s ynchronousInvoke&empnum="+this.rawValue);
getXML being the script object and getXMLDoc being the function. But this returns MisForm is not defined.
I also tried a reference straight to the object
    getXML.getXMLDoc("http://lcwftest:8080/services/getEmployeeInfo?method=synchronousInvoke&e mpnum="+this.rawValue);
but that also returned "is not defined"
How do I reference the script object.

I believe it gets something like
    xfa.resolveNode("MISForm").getXML.getXMLDoc...
It also depends on if your script object is located in the root or if it is located within your page if you understand what I am trying to say. With pdf you can have a global script and reference it on each page but with html I would be more than happy if you find a solution on it... you have to have the script object on each page.

  • Rendered movie into HD settings and it shrunk

I imported a livetype video file into HD 1080i60 in order to fit the standard format for my final cut express project. It only took up a fraction of the screen space in the live type file and in the rendered movie. How do I fit to screen using these settings? Thank you

bjb1186, did you ever find the solution? This sounds similar to a problem I am having.
I made my LT properties match my FCE sequence properties, but to no avail.
    Thanks

  • Rendering Movie Fails--Mysteriously Stops

I have a list of scrolling names over an animated background (Rockin font with a Matte object background). It is approx. 20 to 30 seconds in length (1-2k worth of frames to render). I want to render this as a movie unto itself. When I Render Movie, at some point near half it stops rendering. Just stops and the file is not created.
Any idea why it does this and what the solution is? Any help is appreciated!
iMac, MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Min. 1 GB RAM on oall machines

Do you get the same error while playing back the timeline ? If so and if it is at roughly the same timecode then probably the source video file (or the rendered video) is corrupt. If not, you might be using a disk drive for export that is almost full.

  • How do you filter out moving objects in a movie?

    Hello!
I'v searched the internet for solutions to this but I cann't find any.
Im prittie new and I need to make a house on fire while two guys (one is me)
will be walking away from it, towards the camera.
I want to filter out these two guys and only apply fire and flames to the house itself!
To do this I used Time Diffrence and tried to isolate the guy using Fast Blur and Luma Key
but Im prittie lost.. Nothing works and I really need guidence
Do you know a trick to use?
I cant do greenscreening as the green background would cost a fortune..
But isn't there anyway to filter out moving objects?

I'm not sure that you totally get the process. This kind of shot requires at least 3 elements or plates. These three plates become three layers in After Effects. The bottom layer would be the Background Plate which is a shot of the house without any actors in the shot. The next plate would be the Effect Plate or Fire Plate which could be any shot you can get or generate through plug-ins of flames. The top layer would be your Foreground Plate or your two actors.
Now that you know what you need you can plan your shoot. The background plate is easy. Just set the camera on a tripod and lock it off. NO zooming. No panning, No change of focus. The foreground plate is also easy. You don't have to green screen the entire set, all you need to do is to put a green screen behind your actors. I do this kind of thing all the time using a 6' X 6' (sometimes smaller) green screen (or blue or red or purple) made of fabric and stretched over a frame that I made from 1/2" EMT electrical conduit and 4 90º elbow connectors for less than $20 at Home Depot or Lowes. You get a couple of assistants to walk behind your actors holding the green screen behind them. If you need to include their feet they can be easily rotoscoped out later and you can garbage matte everything else. If it's impossible to green screen the shot then you are stuck with roto, but that's much easier in CS5 using the roto brush. If you use your show with the actors as the background plate roto is even easier because you can hide a multitude of sins by simply feathering the roto and letting the fire light wrap around the actors a bit.
The fire plate can be purchased footage, or you could shoot a real fire against a black background, or you could create the flames using AE or even a 3D app like Blender (free) or a bunch of other apps.
Making the shot look real requires a few tricks once you have your clean plates. Fire creates light so you've got to add lighting effects to the background plate to sell the fire. You've also got to wrap light around your actors. Look for tutorials on light wrap for this. You can really help sell the effect if you place some flickering light sources behind and to the side of your actors when you shoot the foreground (actors) plate.
Once you get a handle on these techniques it's fairly easy to make the transition to pulling of this kind of a shot with a hand held camera (now you have to learn motion tracking). On a project I recently completed we had to put a fire in a prop fireplace while actors moved around bringing milk and cookies for Santa. It was all roto and the fire was shot at night with nothing more than a black cloth (Duvetyne) behind the fireplace grate. The final composite was 10 layers and was so totally believable that no one questions the shot.
The layers were from top to bottom, reflection in grandmas glasses, light wrap, actors (roto of original background plate), fire flicker layer, color mask layer (more orange around fire, fire glow layer, fire layer in Add mode, second fire layer in screen mode, third fire layer Luma keyed, and finally the original plate which contained all the actors, carefully lit with flickering firelight simulated by dangling a stick with fabric cut into 1/2 inch wide strips about one foot long in front of a orange gelled light behind and to the right of  the actors.
    If I get a chance I'll post a screenshot.

  • Object and Mouse Movements on Limited Inverse

I am attempting to make a more interesting background for a
page that involves several objects moving slightly,
depending on the 'x' coordinate of the mouse. I am trying to
limit the movement to 100 pixels at the inverse of the mouse's 'x'
coordinate. For clarity, I'll stick to just one object (object_mc)
At the moment, I've been tossing around this basic code,
which is hardly representative of what I'm trying to do, however
I've never done anything regarding this movement.
    mouseInterval = setInterval (x_inverse, 10);
    function x_inverse () {
    object_mc._x = Math.round(
/// I've been plugging away and am starting to believe I need to
use some sort of limiting function regarding _root._xmouse ///
The idea is that when the mouse is at x=0, object_mc is at
x=100 and vice versa. These coordinates would also need to be
flexible in that when the mouse is from x=1-500, 'object_mc' is
from x=500-400. So, while the range for the '_root._xmouse' is the
entire canvas, the range for the 'object_mc' would be limited to a
    defined area (such as 400-500).
Any help would be appreciated, and I'd be more than willing
to follow a tutorial on my own if pointed in the right direction.
    Thanks !

the function below will return your movieclip's _x property

  • Authorization object for 351 movement type

    Dear expert
    Please guide me
How to restrict 351 movement type for created STO for self plant in self plant?
    for eg : there are 2 plant 1001, 2001.
    STO CREATED IN 1001 PLANT
    IN THIS  suppling plant : 2001 & Recieving plant : 1001
Now, suppling plant has to do 351 movement type & Recieving plant has to do 101 movement type.
Now my doubt is receving plant should not do 351 movement type.
but it shows that my 1001 plant (receving plant) doing 351 MOVEMENT TYP.
Logically it should not do this.
So , How to restrict 351 movement type for created STO for self plant in self plant?

if your 1001 plant never needs a 351 movement, then dont assign the 351 together with 1001 in these objects for roles that are used in 1001 plant.
But if 1001 needs to perform as well a 351 to any other plant, then you cannot use authorization to restirct it.

  • Color to FCP with a 3d rendered movie wacky output

I have a movie I rendered in Cinema 4d that I was color correcting in Color. I had it imported into FCP, then sent to Color, did my corrections/stylization, rendered and sent back to FCP. Problem is, once it's back in FCP, the movie shows the corrections I made to it, but the movie is divided horizontally in half, with the bottom half divided vertically -with the left and right sides swapped.
This doesn't happen with regular shot video, only with some renders. I have no clue why they work just fine in FCP, but once they're run through Color, this happens. Am I missing a setting in Color or are they rendered the wrong way for Color?

    I have a movie I rendered in Cinema 4d
    In what??????
Sounds like a fairly obvious format incompatibility.

  • Slide in object as page moves up

Sorry Y'all... my first Muse site, I've done a lot of reading but can't figure this out.
I built a long one-page site with pictures text etc. When I click a menu button, the page moves up to the anchor point. Besides "Home" I have four menu buttons: Confidence, Character, Community & Contact. Everything works great.
Now I would like to slide in from Left or Right a circle object with text so that as the page is parking on "Confidence" the circle slides in over the picture.
Someone give me a heads up?
    Thanks!

    Duuuuh! Scroll effects... sheesh.

  • Rendering .mov file takes 2 hours?!

Hello. I am new to using Final Cut Express. I tried adding a .mov video file I have to my timeline, did so easily. Then, in order to preview it, I had to render it. When I began the rendering process, it said it would take 2 hours to render my roughly 3 minute long clip. Does anyone know why this might be? I asked around and was told it takes roughly 2 minutes to render individual clips. I experimented by placing a significant larger video file in the project and it rendered quickly, as well as various file formats. All worked fine. I'm wondering if maybe it has to do with the framerate or proportion of the .mov video file? If so, how do I change/check these properties? Please help me! Thanks.

The codec is there. Compressor. Why don't you just give everything it says. The low frame rate means there's a lot of interpolation going on to get it up to 29.97 or 25 fps.
The material is really not suitable for production, especially with FCE. It's too small for HD, and too big for SD, which anyway compresses the media a lot to conform to DV. The HD codec Apple Intermediate is better, but the video is too small for even the smallest standard sized video.
FCP is resolution independent and also works with more codec that would be useful for this media. Though this depends on where you're trying to get to and what you want to do with the video once you've finished editing it. How do you need to deliver it?

  • Strange problem undoing a shape layer move in Photoshop CS5

Hi. I have a strange recurring problem in Photoshop CS5. Basically, it manifests like this:
I have a shape layer, or several shape layers. I will move the shape with the move tool (usually via holding Ctrl, depending upon which tool is selected). If I then use undo or step backward, the image does not revert properly. It's like there is a discrepancy between the position of the layer mask and what is displayed on screen. Clicking on the vector mask of the shape layer to reveal its outline shows that the shape is where it should be (i.e. in the position it was originally), but the element of the image it represents is somewhere else. Sometimes, if I move a group of such shape layers, the problem seems to affect some of them but not all. Once so far, I have managed to rectify the problem by simply turning off an unrelated layer and turning it on again! Very strange.
It's a difficult problem to deal with, because it doesn't happen every time. And when it does, it's a case of reverting to a previous save. Luckily I save reasonably often, but it's still an annoying thing to deal with.
Hope I've described it well enough to understand. Any ideas?
    I'm using CS5 12.0.4. Windows 7 64-bit. Intel i5 2300. Integrated HD2000 graphics with latest drivers.

I realise I seem to be talking to myself here (perhaps no-one's still using CS5 here, plus it's a fairly specific problem), but I have discovered a factor that makes for repeatable demonstration of this behaviour.
It appears that the problem I'm having is related to using feathering on vector masks. Create a shape with the pen tool, add an amount of 'feather' in the mask options panel, use the move tool to move the shape and then undo. This displays the problem I'm seeing where the image is not refreshed. I have at least found a way to workaround the issue for now. Simply changing the feathering amount updates the image to how it should be.
I'm glad that I can at least continue to use CS5, because I'm totally content with its functionality for my uses, and an upgrade seemed overkill (not to mention having to adjust to the changes made in CS6+ versions).
Perhaps there is still a cure for this bug somewhere. I will keep looking, and update this thread if I find it, in the hope that it may help someone else out there with the same problem.
