Blackscreen?

Lately my screen will, randomly, go black and the CPU will keep running for like 2 seconds and then restart. After this happens and my pc restarts a window says I had a problem and it was a bluescreen, 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1; Local Id: 9226; BCCode 116
It will happen randomly and I would at least like to know why is this happening, any help will be good, thanks.

  • How to fix blackscreen Bootcamp after SSD install

    Hello
I have an iMac mid 2011 21,5". I decided to boost it a little and that's when my issues started. Got no big problem to remove the optical drive, replace it with an SSD & add few gigs of RAM, but when I started to install windows 8.1 pro with bootcamp on the SSD, and keep the old HDD with MAC OSX I faced big issues.... (basically black screen with underscore blinking top left)
I read here, especially from Loner T, that it was expected, as Bootcamp was installing something in the NVram to tell the iMac to read the CD in SATA rather than in USB. I tried an EFI installation, but that was a bad idea, some devices were missing (sound card, classical) and there was some BSOD that made no sense
So I read that one option would be to modify the plist file, and add the USB boot, and try to install Windows that way, but rather than doing that option that I found a bit unreasonable (I guess that if USB boot is disabled for bootcamp for mid2011, there's a reason...?) ; I launched Bootcamp from Mac OSx, downloaded the utils/drivers on the USB key, selected the SSD as target harddrive and when the iMac rebooted I shut it down, replaced back the optidrive instead of the SSD, and put the SSD instead of the old HDD. Fans were running loud/full speed as expected as the old HDD was not here with its thermal sensor, but at least, when I restarted, Windows 8.1 pro installation started, and went till completion without an issue.
I stopped everything, removed again the optidrive, and then but back the old hdd (for Fan issue + space matter) and put back the SSD at Optidrive space.
and then rebooted... and faced something unexpected.
At boot, I have again the blackscreen with underscore blinking...
If I press ALT at boot, I can choose Mac OSX that boots well and properly. But if I select my SSD with Windows detected, I have the black screen.
I wonder if everything is lost, or if it's just something to repair in the boot sequence...
I have to admit that this is way above my skills
if someone can help me, I made some sudo commands in yosemite, to share here and eventually find a solution...

  • How do you overcome a blackscreen upon beginning installation of windows 7 64-Bit on a MacBook Pro5,1?

    Hello All,
    I have a MacBookPro5,1, upgraded to 8gb RAM running Mac OS X Version 10.6.8.
Apple states that this model is capable of installing Windows 7 64-Bit.
But when I try to install Windows 7 via Boot Camp Assistant, everything goes to plan until Boot Camp restarts the machine where a Blackscreen appears and does not show the windows installation screen. The machine is doing something in the background but then appears to power off. I have to press the power button twice, one long press to stop whatever it was doing then one more to power back on. I can get back into the Mac side with no problem.
I am certain bootcamp does not have the relevent video drivers for the windows installation to use...
I am using a Microsoft certified Windows 7 Professional SP1 image file burnt to a DVD-R, the image was downloaded from Microsoft as part of their student deals.
How do I get the blackscreen to go away?
    Kind Regards,
    tmanz

    Okay,
So I still have the problem.
I was able to upgrade my Mac OS X to Lion using a Retail DVD and this gave me Boot Camp v4.0.
Followed the steps, burn't the downloaded drivers to a DVD. Then selected install on the Boot Camp and the MacBook Pro still goes into a blackscreen where I should see the Windows 7 installation screen.
This problem seems to be similar to the apple problem with their iMac's TS3173, but I am dumbfounded as to why I have this problem. I don't think anyone else out there with a MacBookPro5,1 has this problem.
I think If I had a solution as in TS3173 for the MacBookPro5,1 it would solve my case. Really I need the nVidia drivers for the GeForce 9400M, I tried getting these from the Boot Camp drivers but these are in exe form which would not be detected by the Windows 7 installer.
Is there anyone out there that understands my problem and can advise me?
Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    tmanz

  • Windows 7 Install - Blackscreen/USB drive

    Hello,
I'm trying to install Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit) on my iMac (late 2009) and unable to get past the dread blackscreen that is posted on the Apple Support help pages (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3173).
I've reformated the USB drive, added the drivers as described, but unable to get past a certain point in the install. I can get to the Windows 7 install screen, reformated the partition and then it will reboot successfully a couple of times,. However when its at the "completing install" phase and it reboots once again, then it gets stuck at the blackscreen. I imagine its at this point that the drivers should be recognized on the USB, but aren't. Which is odd, as I'm able to use the screen, mouse and keyboard throughout most of the install without issue.
I assume it's because it is unable to find the drivers on the USB key and unsure what else to do. Does it make a difference which USB port I use? Also, the USB drive is "old" (5 yrs +). Perhaps that's an issue?
I'm stumped and looking for help. Feel free to ask more questions if you think I've left out some important details.
    Thanks.

Well, seems the issue was actually the old USB key (256MB). Installed the drivers onto a new 8G USB and no issues. Worked like a charm.

  • My macbook pro 2011 (late) have blackscreen on startup?

First, try Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
If that doesn't help, try Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller

  • My iPad got blackscreen, no response after reset, iTunes still recognizes iPad when plugged in. Any possible reason?

I have a 1st Gen iPad. Recently, it got fully drained (my daughter usually watches her movies on it). Now, I recharged it but it i don't see the RED battery icon when recharging. It did, however, make the sound whenever you plug it in to recharge, so I let it plugged in hoping that it's only because it was fully drained that's why it has a blackscreen. After having it plugged in to the wall charger with enough time to fully recharge, I tried to press the wake/home button but it did not respond. Tried doing a reset by holding down both power and home buttons, and it made a shutter-like sound but still no response on the screen. So, I tried plugging it in to my mac and hoping iTunes will turn it up. After plugging in, iTunes recognized the iPad and started synching.
I'm leaning towards hardware failure (screen) but is there some diagnostics that I could use to confirm this? Is there any other way to try to bring the screen back up?
    Please response. Thanks!

  • ATI and blackscreen death...

    community,
    I have a HD4250 IGP (R620) w/ athlon 2 x4.
Yesterday, before turning off the pc I've pacmaned Syu, thus making my system inoperable today. I'm using proprietary catalyst drivers, the latest I could find.
Symptoms are : black screen, no keyboard. When I've added acpi=off while doing a manual boot from grub, I've got a screen with dmesg's and a keyboard-unresponsive box.
I'm not able to edit any of the configuration files as of right now, I don't have an optical drive to run a livecd. I've also tried to create an arch-usb to run live, but to no success. I've tried to access the partition w/ windows 7, but the darn thing doesnt recognize ext2/ext3 even though I have the proper tools installed... (when it comes to writing things. reading was easy w/ diskinternals or whatnot....)
Thus, I'm stuck with win7. Help?

I have the exact same problem, new Arch system working for 8 days, now X wont start.
I've booted to init 3, and if I manually type startx all I get is a black screen with a single underscore, keyboard does
not respond, neither does ctrl-alt_F1.   I cant kill X server with ctrl-alt-backspace so have to reboot.
In my case Xorg.log is empty but posting from another linux system I have found this in /var/log/messages

Not sure what this means, but last line states graphics system exited.
I am using ATI HD5770 with proprietary catalyst driver which I have tried reinstalling and
    running
    aticonfig --initial
This has not fixed the problem.
In addition I boot with grub legacy and watch kernel messages scroll. I used to get
four "Arch" symbols, now I see four "penguins representing each core.
    Other hardware
    Intel i5 750
    ATI HD5770
    Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3
    4G  DDR3
Prior to this blackscreen Arch was running smoothly and although I have started at
console and tried pacman -Syu  I cannot resolve this problem.
I will try open source ATI drivers next,  see if this helps.
( To mods I hope I have not hijacked piotroxp' s  post if so please move this post).

  • [SOLVED] startx and blackscreen

    hi guys,
I'm still trying to set up Arch.
So, I followed everything line per line the beginner's guide but I've a problem with STARTX.
When I run it, I get a Blackscreen and nothing happen, also if I press CTRL+ALT+DELETE nothing happens, if I press CTRL+ALT+F1 the screen "flash" one time but it's still black, if I press CTRL+ALT+DELETE the system reboot.
I installed VESA driver, then xorg -configure.
I also tried the INTEL driver or DUMMY but no luck.
I've a Intel 4500 MHD as video card.
If this can help, I was able to start the X server on Slackware 13 (x64), OpenSuse, Backtrack 3 & 4 and Debian.
    Can you help me please?

As far as I know, once you use open source drivers,it's useless to create a xorg.conf file,'cause xorg now could be started with the help of hal(or else?),and creating xorg.conf may cause some nerve-wrecking issues.Just remove that. You've done a great job.:)
Yeah after well-reading the X man page I understood
    Now everything works fine.

my iphone 3gs is stuck at DFU mode after i restore to 4.3.3 and it cant wake up and is on blackscreen too!! I tried holding the home and the wake button for 10 sec and release the wake button and continue pressing the home button until the apple logo come out!! But none of this works!! Before i was stuck in the DFU blackscreen mode i just restore the 4.3.3 flimware but after restore the itunes say the iphone has been restored to factory settings but dint... it is still on DFU mode blackscreen after restore!! i tried iReb...RecBoot...TinyUmbrella...But none of them works!!! I also dont know if my phone is jailbroken!!!! So please help me so i can wake my phone up from DFU mode!!

It sounds to me like you either got defective parts or otherwise did not make the repair correctly. We cannot help  with self-repairs here, the iPhone officially not user servicable, but you can ask for advice in the forums on ifixit.com, a site which is dedicated to those attempting their own repairs.
    Regards.

  • My iphone keeps blocking in a "boot" mode... blackscreen with apple logo... the restarting (home and power button for 10 sec) doesn't work.

my iphone keeps blocking in a "boot" mode... blackscreen with apple logo... the restarting (home and power button for 10 sec) doesn't work. when i get it in DFU mode and try restoring with itunes it remains the same... provider already "fixed" this problem twice with a "software update" only to get the same problem again... it just "reboots" this time it happened @ night while charging... previous time in my jacket pocket... this is the 3th time it happens, and my provider (Mobistar belgium) doesn't wish to exchange or refund my iphone witch clearly has something wrong 3 times same problem in 3 months...

My advice is to try not to treat this like it is a paid service provided by compensated professionals.  Ask nicely and one of the nice folks here might take some time out of their weekend to offer advice.

  • Built-in iSight showing blackscreen.

    Hey all,
The problem just surfaced last month, when i would open photobooth,ichat,skype.etc. The green LED light will turn on, but it would just display a blackscreen on the programs.
I tried everything, resetting SMC, and the applealt+pr on the chime...EVEN did a clean install..and it started working on the welcome screen when it asks you to take a picture, and after the welcome box, i opened photobooth and boom
    what should i do???
last resort is to send in for repair, but i have tonssss of work to do, can;t afford to

    Welcome to Apple Discussions, wkim8732
Assuming your problem is with a built-in iSight, with all you have tried, your Mac may have hardware problems that require professional service.
Disconnect all peripherals other than your keyboard, mouse, and internet connection. Then restart your Mac and try the suggestions in Apple's How to Troubleshoot iSight. If the reset suggested there still does not correct the problem, use the other suggestions to find out if your problem is application specific or, perhaps, is a problem with your user account.
If you iSight works doesn't work in any app in any user account, check whether it shows in your System Profiler as a USB Device. Your iSight's info should look similar, but no necessarily identical, to this picture:
If iSight doesn't show in System Profiler and doesn't work in any app, contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service. The service technician may be able to tell you how long you should expect the repair to take from talking with you or from a quick initial inspection of your Mac.
If I understand your post correctly, you iSight actually worked while you were initializing your reinstalled software but then quit again. If so, and if you used Archive & Install, you might be able to get your Mac going again by reinstalling again using a differnet method.
    Backup your important files first!
For this reinstall, start by zeroing your disk to remove any possible problem info. Depending on the size of your hard disk, zeroing can take several hours, so plan accordingly. Then perform a clean install onto your newly erased hard disk, but do not migrate your information and settings from the same backup you used before or a backup you just made. Doing so might copy the problem back to your newly installed system along with your good information.
Instead, use a known good backup or initialize manually so you are certain you do not move bad info to your clean install disk.
You will also have to reinstall your applications from their original sources rather than migrating your applications and settings from a backup or another Mac.
As you can see, this process will be time consuming compared to Archive and Install, but it is the only way I know to be certain you have not kept or restored bad info that may be causing your problems. If a clean install onto a zeroed disk does not cure your problem, you will need professional help unless you are willing to use your Mac without a working iSight.
If you choose to continue to use this Mac with iSight or other functions not working, I suggest that you backup more frequently and also to more than one other hard drive in case more problems develop.

  • GX740 (ms-1727) Blackscreen

    Hi everyone
I hope someone here can really help me with my msi GX740, which won't boot up anymore and only shows a blackscreen when you hit the startbutton.
The powerLED (the blue moon) turns on, but nothing more. No POST screen, no harddisk activity, no beeps, just the fan spinning around.
As a little information, I've probably done some bullsh*t before the issue occurred
I flashed a unlocked BIOS to check if there are additional settings to get some RAM working, which I got from a friend.
The BIOS-flash was SUCCESSFUL and the system worked well with the new BIOS (even tough i forgot the EC-reset).
Then I tried to change some settings (I think it was someting with autoconfigure hardware) in the BIOS and BAM! It didn't start again.
So I thought, lets reset the settings with a CMOS-and EC-reset, nothing.
Replacing the RAM and using just one slot changed nothing.
I tried the emergency BIOS recovery, like here -> forum-en.msi.com/?topic=119375.0 but no success. (Sry I'm not allowed to post an external? link)
Something I noticed before: on the RAM it's written 1333mhz, but Memtest+86 or CPU-Z told me it's running on 1066mhz. So I organised some RAM with 1066mhz and tested it, but again nothing.
In another forum I found a guy with similar issues and he fixed it when he inserted "wrong" RAM, booted into BIOS and restored the default settings. But I have no further information. Is it worth givin it a try and buy some 1600mhz RAM to test?
Is it possible that the mainboard is broken and if, what exactly and how?
I would really appreciate it when someone could help me and sorry if there are language mistakes.
Some additional infromation , which could be useful:

Well, it was not me, who sold my mainboard on ebay
My solution was: A friend of mine had the exact same laptop with a broken screen but a working motherboard. So we took his motherboard and put it in my "case".
But I never understood what's wrong with my motherboard. We even tried to switch all of the components (RAM, CPU, GPU) but nothing...
The difference to you is, my mobo did not turn off by itself. The fan was spinning chilly, the powerLED was on but the screen stayed blank and nothing else happened. No difference between battery/plugged in.
My device never started at all with the graphics (and RAM) removed, and showed similar symptoms to yours. So maybe you just have to install your graphics card.
Additionally, I would try to check all of your components to see if they are fitted correctly (especially the RAM). You can try to switch the RAM to see if it's faulty, or even when possible the GPU and/or CPU.
An EC-Reset also may help you. To perform this follow these steps: (from https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=112416.0 )
    Quote
    1. Turn notebook OFF with button, hold 4 seconds.
    2. Remove recharge plug
    3. Remove battery
    4. Leave it like this for about 5 minutes.
    5. Put everything back and power the laptop again.
If nothing helps, you can try to unplug the CMOS-Battery too while doing an EC-Reset, but I have no idea, if this will change anything.
    Good luck

  • Intel HD graphics family deactivated blackscreen

    Hello,
I deactivated my onboard Intel HD graphic card. and since that i have a blackscreen. and cant do anything.
Now my question, is it possible to activate my Intel HD card to get my laptop back to work?

    Hi
Im wondering how you were able to do that
How did you disable the graphic card?
Did you test the key combination FN + F5 which switches between the displays (internal and external) ?
You could also try to boot the Advanced boot menu by pressing F8 at the beginning the booting procedure.
Now you can choose use the last good working configuration.
PS: What notebook model do you have and what system do you use?

Lithium batteries are vulnerable to a complete discharge. The phone will shut down and refuse to start with a few percent actual capacity still remaining. The battery will discharge further if the phone is left in this condition for weeks or months. When the voltage of the battery drops below ~2.5 volts, the charger (and the protection circuits in the phone) may not be able to initiate a charge.
My money is on a defective battery, especially since from your description this has happened multiple times.
(The battery should be charged to 50% and removed from the phone for long-time storage).
More (nerdy!) reading is found on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium-ion_battery and the links from the page.
I hope you get it sorted out.

  • Msi Nx 6800 Td-128 Le Blackscreen Fix

Finaly someone has solved the prob. these two guys were Bilabong and Zadah... the fix allows u to get u an high memclock without blackscreen. there is even those that has made 1010mhz memclock without blackscreen prob.
This is what u need to do!
first get an electrolyt capasitor 3300uF 16v, or higger uF. im gonna try an 4700uF 16v today.. after u got one of these u must check polarity on the cap so that + connects to TP1 and - to gnd.

To fitnessbonk: It is simple: buy one electrolytic 3300microFarads/10V (or 16V) capacitor in any electrostore. On the capacitor there are two endings - shorter is "-" and longer is "+".
You must solder "-" to some GND (ground):
    a) molex cable from your PSU (power suply) - 4 wires - two wires are black - both of them are grounds
    b) ground pins on 6800LE - it is visible in "guide" - pins are next to capacitor ("under" molex conector on other side of card)
And the "+" you must put to TP1 - located on pictures. So to the "+" of capacitor you should solder a short wire and second end of this wire you should tin-plate. You needn´t to solder it to TP1, only put wire to TP1 and sure yourself that it is based well and had a touch with TP1 (otherwise it might fall away). I recommend you to use some tape to secure it. And that is all...
To firearmada: There should be at least 2200mF, I used 3300mF on 10V (but you can use 16V). The number of microfarads says, how much is voltage stabilised (I suppose that more is used the more overclock you might reach - but not sure). And number of V says on how voltage is capacitor built, so more you use, more safer it is (but more than 16V is useless). Better numbers capacitor has, bigger is. You said that it didn´´t take effect for you -> my ideas:
    - capacitor "+" hasn´t contact (touch) with TP1
    - capacitor "-" hasn´t contact (touch) with ground
    - i red on other forums that this correction won´t work for cards built in 30.-35. week of production in MSI (but it is a guess)
    - be sure that you have set correctly the polarity of capacitor
My guide is very short brief maked very quickly (I haven´t got enough time), so somebody might do big step by step guide...

  • Does anyone face BlackScreen on Whatsapp if using front camera on your Iphone 6 plus Ios 8.0.2?

Does anyone face BlackScreen on Whatsapp if using front camera on your Iphone 6 plus Ios 8.0.2?

    Hi,
I'm having also having game sound issues the game music and sounds just go completely quiet in iOS 8.1. Sometimes it'll just be completely quiet and others I'll have game music and sounds and partway through the game I'll lose audio. It's not the side lock/mute button either which I checked.
It's happening in two different games: Shadowgun:Deadzone and Modern Combat 5.
I have that side button above the volume set to toggle mute and I tried changing it to lock rotation instead to see if that made a difference which it did not. I have to kill the game and relaunch it to get the game audio working again.
