Blocking a batch with a delivery

Hello All,
I have a scenario, where I have a batch assigned to a material on a delivery and it shows "Sched. for Delivery" in the MMBE against the correct batch. However, I want to be able to reserve this qty, or remove it from the unrestricted qty use so that it can not be used for any other operation until the delivery is PGI'd.
Here is what happens; A delivery is created, and picked for 1 smaller batch on say Monday, but the container truck sits in the lot until Thursday. The batch/qty that is picked shown in MMBE as "sched.for delivery" stock type, but the original QTY still shows as the full amount in unrestricted until the delivery is PGI'd.
On Tuesday, all the smaller batches are mixed into a bigger tank and a new batch is created. Physically the material is not mixed, because it is in the truck already, but from the SAP system standpoint all the qty in the batch assigned to the delivery is mixed into the new batch, and disappears, this consumes the entire qty using MB1B Mvt 311.
On Thursday, when the users go to PGI the old batch, it is gone, and they have to back out the batch in the delivery, undo the QA usage decisions, etc...
EX: If there is 100kg in restricted stock, an 20kgs in the "schedule. for delivery "stock type, I want the restricted availability to only be 80kgs, or to reduce the restricted qty batch by using the delivery note.
What I want is either a hard block on the stock when it is picked, so it can not be used for anything else, or a hard system message stating to the user that only XX qty is available for particular batch when they are mixing the larger batch.
I have thought about a user exit, and I am not sure how that would work. But there has to be a setting in config that makes the "shed. for delivery stock" blocked like it does for say QA hold, or resticted.
Any help would be great.
Jeff

Hello
could u please check the above details available for MSC2N tcode. You can check this and accordingly you can set the 'Restricted & Unrestricted' buttons for transaction.

  • Quality Certificate Issue with multiple batchs with same delivery note

    Hi,
    Hi,
    My Company Business Process:
Quality certificates are generated prior to the good receipt through IDOC process.
When we  receive the goods, GR should look for existing quality certificates and trasnfer the inspection results to inspection lot.
When we are trying to receive for single batch & delivery note, It is looking for existing quality certificates. There is no problem in this senario.
But when we receive the multiple batchs with the same delivery note, system is generating new quality certificates. It is not looking for existing QC which got generated through IDOC process. This is the actual proble.
Note: I am not sure is standard SAP does not supprot  to receive the multiple batchs with the same delivery note or not at the time of GR. Please advise me.
    Thanks,
    Suman

In data origin in certificate profile SAP supports " mix the origins within a characteristic. For example, the results data can originate from an inspection and the specification data can originate from batch determination."
Now here question arises Is batch determination of one batch or multiple bacthes took place against a single delivery note.
As per my understnading it should be one batch with is supported in std SAP.

  • Batch with classification at the time of inbound delivery

    Dear all,
How do I create batch with classification at the of
    inbound delivery.
    Thanks in advance
    Mrinmoy Chakraborty

    Hi,
Go to SPRO > Logistics Execution > Shipping > Deliveries > Define Batch Creation Controls in Inbound Deliveries > Here select option 3 for the Item category of Inbound delivery (for e.g. ELN)
And during creation of Inbound Delivery (VL31N), under "Stock placement" Tab, select the line item and click on "Batch creation" on the down of the screen.
Define Batch Creation Controls in Inbound Deliveries: - You can use this activity to set controls for batch creation in the inbound delivery.
Define for each desired delivery item category how batch creation, batch classification or expiration date checks should be carried out in inbound deliveries. You can make the following settings:
    - There is no batch creation, no valuation of the class characteristics of the batch and no expiration date check.
    - Batch creation is possible in the inbound delivery, but there is no valuation of the class characteristics of the batch and no expiration date check.
    - Batch creation in the inbound delivery and valuation of class characteristics is possible, but there is no expiration date check.
    - Batch creation in the inbound delivery, valuation of class characteristics of the batch and the expiration date check are all possible.

  • Problem with batch in outbound delivery

Hi gurues...I´m newby in SD and I have the followin problem.
I confirm an outbound delivery that need a batch, without the batch.
Obviously I can´t post goods receipt, but when i do the shipment,
it creates the bill but it don´t post goods receipt because it says that i need a batch in the position. How can i do to avoid that the shipment creates the billing without the batch??????.....

    Jorge,
Here I am giving you more idea batch determination so that it will be more easy for you to correct the isue as you are new.
On batch determination, the whole process, how it is determined automatically in the order.
    1)     Normally we use batch determination at delivery level, because at the time of order material may or may not be created. For this material should be configured with batch and batch determination should be checked in sales views of material.
    2)     A2) Batch Determination during order Creation.
For this you need to maintain Classes d for you Material. Depending on the Manufacturing process you can define the characteristics for your material.
Ex: Purity for Medicines, Resistance for Electric Items.
You need to create a class (You might have to create a new class type) which incorporates the characteristic.
First Create the Characteristic Using Ct04 and then using Cl02 create the Class including this characteristic.
Then in your material master Classification View Enter this class.
Then Create a Batch for the particular plant and Stor Loc using MSC1N.Give the value of the characteristics in this batch.
Then go to SPRO ->Logistics General ->Batch Management and maintain the Condition Technique (Procedure, Strategy Types and assignment to sales docs etc).
Then Create the Batch Determination Record using VCH1.

  • Batch needs to be created 1st then post goods receipt with inbound delivery

    Hi,
We are having split valuated materials with batch managed, we need to post goods receipt with inbound delivery.
When we create inbound delivery with PO batch is blank which is correct.
Now when we try to post GR with IBD in VL32N we need to put batch, but we are getting error message as batch is not available in receiving plant.
In this case we have to create batch 1st with MSC1N and then we can put batch number in Vl32N and can post GR.
If material is not split valuated we can put batch manualy(Without creation in MSC1N) in VL32N and it is allowing to post GR with batch.
Can you please let me know this behaviour, is there any SAP note available about this behaviour.
    Thanks
    Sudhir

    Hi Uwe,
Can an inbound WHSCON IDoc used for doing both the goods receipt in the PO and the update of the message flow in the delivery?
The binary answer would be no. You should use WMMBXY or MBGMCR instead.
But if we are doing goods receipt against Inbound delivery then answer is YES with additionally E1EDL18-QUALF = 'PIC' populated. But please remember no partial receipt is possible against Inbound Delivery.
We should populate E1EDL20-VBELN with our Inbound delivery number and line item info should go to E1EDL24.
I have done a similar interface recently where we are doing receipt against Inbound delivery. But our case was a bit complex because we had to support against Inbound delivery. So we had to go for a custom solution on top of IDOC_INPUT_DELVRY.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.

  • Issue with batch determination in delivery

    Hi All,
I have an STO and when creating delivery via VL10I I get an error "doc is incomplete, you cannot save delivery". I have all the sufficient data in STo for delivery creation. Infact there should be batch strategy not taking place i guess.
When I enter batch number in STO then a delivery is created, why? batch shd be determined automatically when creating deliveries.
But there is no issue is quality system with same materials and plants I can create deliveries..

    Hi,
Are you sure that the incompletion is because of Batch determination?
    In that case goto
Spro> Log. general> Batch management> Batch determination and batch check> Activate automatic batch determination for delivery item
and flag Auto Batch det check box for Item category "NLN"
    Hope this helps.

  • Empty batch determined in delivery

    Hi friends,
I have a problem in batch determination and I dont have much knowledge on this. We are using automatic batch determination in Deliveries. For some of the line items the batch determined is empty (no stock). Deliveries are created using VL10A tcode. However I could trace some reasons for that.
    1. In Sales Order the line item is not confirmed for that date. Schedule lines are confirmed for future date.
    2. Deliveries are able to be created using VL10a transaction (even the future delvieries without stock confirmation)
    3. Automatic batch determination is run and empty batches are assigned. That means batch with no stock.
    4. For assigned batch, stock is zero (available quantity) and expiry date is in the past.
    5. For this item in delivery, the staging date is in the future and Planned GI is present.
    I want to fix:
    1. Why the delivery creation is not blocked for unconfirmed line items in Sales Order using VL10a tcode whereas it is blocked using VL01 tcode.
    2. How come empty batch is determined.
Appreciate your response and thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    AK

    Hi,
    1. Why the delivery creation is not blocked for unconfirmed line items in Sales Order using VL10a tcode whereas it is blocked using VL01 tcode.
    - You may need to check OSS notes 113411 and in particular 355666
    2. How come empty batch is determined.
      - You may need to check the batch search strategy using transaction code VCH2 for the particular material.

  • Block cash sales with credit limit blocking from creation of outbound

    Hello everyone,
Can you please teach me how to block cash sales with credit limit blocking from creation of outbound delivery?  Currently, outbound delivery can not be created only for charge sales with credit limit block.  Problem is, we can not confirm the cash sales.  We have to delete first the outbound then unblock the S.O. before creating a new Outbound.
    Thanks in advance.
    Ridgy

Cash sale transaction will not have credit limit block, as the transaction is based on receipt of immediate payment. But if you still want to try the same, configure a 'Z' transaction Type for cash sale (Copy of Cash Sale - Sales Order Type) and maintain Credit check field as 'D' and try the scenario.
Ideally there should not be a Credir Check foe a Cash Sale Scenario.

  • FIFO batch determination while delivery in SD

    Hi Experts
I did tried to search FIFO batch determination while delivery in SD, but could not find any solution. Please suggest.
    1. Strategy type -SD01
    2. Batch search Procedure - SD0001
    3. Allocated SD Search procedure to the sales area + Sales doc. Type
    4. Activated automatic batch determination in SD.
    5. Class - CLASS_FIFO is created with Char- LOBM_LWEDT
    6. Sort rule - SORT_FIFO and assigned Char - LOBM_LWEDT
    7. Create material and assiged Class - CLASS_FIFO and Batch management is activated
    8. Maintained condition record VCH1 in keycombination - Material.
After all above configuration, I am able to do the automatic batch determiation. The suggest where I am wrong.
The same configuration I have done for FEFO and its working.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Credit block the customer with no transactions

I have a requirement i.e Credit Block the customer with no transaction for past 6 months
    how can this be achieved

    Hi
You need to decide first which transaction to consider i.e past six month sale order, delivery, billing etc.
If you want to consider the billing document for the sales history check -  then take the help of ABAPer & write a logic in below user exit , while creating a sale order system should check if any bililng doc exist within last six month, if yes, there should not be a block if no, then set a block.
    LVKMPFZ1: USER_CREDIT_CHECK1
To activate this block, go to OVA8, tick user1.
    thanks

  • Report for batch numbers and delivery

    Dear gurus,
    Is there a report that
I can see batch numbers and delivery at the same time?

Use t.code VL06 and click on List outbound deliveries button.
In the selection screen, enter details like sales org, distribution channel, division, shipping point and actual or planned goods movement date (per your requirement) and execute.
In the next result display click on item view button. To get the batch data, click on change layout button. From the list of fields available (hidden field list) on the right hand side, select on batch and click on left arrow button.
Then click on copy button. You can see the batch details with delivery line items.
This report is useful, where in you can select addtional fields from layout button.

  • High volume of batches with Split valuation - impact on system performance

    Hi!
I have a client that is intending to load a new material type from their legacy system which will be automatically batch managed with split valuation.  So, Valuation category will be 'x' and the valuation type will also be the batch number as automatically created on GR.
The concern of the client is the impact on system performance.  Having up to 80,000 batches per material master record (so, 80,000 valuation types will be mainatined with a unique price in the Accounting 1 tab of the MMR) and overall around 1 million batches a year.  I'm not aware of any system performance issues around this myself but there seems to be anecdotal evidence that SAP has advised against using this functionality with high volumes of batches.
Could you please let me know of any potential problems I might encounter, having 1 million batches with split valuation may cause?  Logically, this would increase to tens of millions of batches over time until archived off via SARA.
    Many thanks!
    Anthony

I currently have about 1.5 million batches with split valuation in my system (but it is not the X split), and we archive yearly.
having many batches for one material ( lets say 1000) causes dramatic performace issues during automatic batch determination.
it took about 5 minutes until a batch was returned into a delivery. if the user then wants a different batch and has to carry out batch determination again, then he just works for 10 to 15 minutes on one delivery.
This is mainly caused by the storage location segment of the batches. if one batch gets movedd within a plant thru 3 different locations, then the batch has 3 records in table MCHB. But SAP has a report to reorganize the MCHB table that have zero stock.
The X split has more effect, it is not only the batch table that makes issues in this case. With the x-split SAP adds an MBEW record (material master valuation view) for each new batch.
However, if the design is made to get a certain functionality (here valution at batch level),   then you have to get a proper hardware in place that can give you the performance that is needed.

  • What is the Different between the vendor batch in inbound delivery and MIGO

    Dear Guru,
My vendor batch number did not copied to goods receipt when i use migo to post GR reference with Inbound delivery.
Can anyone advice if there is any different to the vendor batch in GR and IB?
    Thank you very much,
    Regards,
    Chee Wee

    Dear Amey,
    Thanks.
Actually we have an interface with our supplier system, where they post the Goods issue in their system, then we will receive an inbound delivery idoc "DESADV" from the supplier.
and my vendor can provide their batch number to us only when their goods issue is posted.
In this case, we would like the inbound delivery idoc to include this vendor batch number, so when we perform the goods receipt reference with Inbound delivery will have the vendor batch number automatically.
    Regards
