Blocking Storage Bin

Hi experts,
I have question about following situation.
I storage goods in more than one storage bin. My storage strategy find storage bin automaticly. If the first storage bin full, strategy find second storage bin. I want that, system block the first storage bin automaticly till the first storage bin will be empty. System doesnt allow add new goods that quant.
how can i do that?

I explain what i need with example;
I have 2 storage bin for my material. All this bin's capacity is 5 pcs. Now first good issue with PO about 5 pcs. this material putaway first bin. then other good issue 3 pcs. This material putaway 2nd bin. Then i remove material 3 pcs in 1st bin. As a result, i have 2 pcs material 1st bin and 3 pcs material seceond bin. My capacity is 3 pcs 1st bin and 2pcs 2nd bin.
Now, if there is good issue same material, system doesn't allow putaway this materials to 1st bin. System block this 1st bin automaticlly. This block is automatically deleted after the last storage unit has been removed from stock (picked from the row).
By the way, am i need batch management to implement this strategy for this material?

How to block storage bin transfer

Dear experts,
I have an issue. Fo example, a material is already been flagged for deletion. All transfer from plant level up to storage location is already blocked. But I can still do bin transfer using LT01. Can we block LT01 as well?

In that case if the storage bin is getting blocked then it will affect the postings of other materials , so better to go with material level
Do one cycle in your development/quality server and ensure that it is working fine as per the clients requirement, take care of other exceptional scenarios also if any.

This error appears from the warehouse associated with the plant.
storage type 916 is for outbound dispatch and the bin 085192173 is the associated delivery number. There seems to be some problem in the storage type (negative stock, perhaps)
I assume you are creating the shipment for a delivery that has not been PGI'ed yet.
Please check that there are no open transfer orders linked to the storage bin (use LT04 to identify open TOs). If there are, then confirm them using LT12.
Normally the storage bin should not exist after PGI is done. If it exists, please check the stock position of the storage bin (use LS03N for this).

Putaway Block in Storage Bin for any specific Material Code

Hi Experts,
We have a problem, we have allowed mix storage, addition to stock in the storage type, our requirement is this, that we want to block one bin aa-01-01 for some specific material code xxxxx, but we want to allow putaway other material codes to that bin.
How can we achieve this. Can we use LS07 or some other solution. Please suggest at the earliest.

Hi,
In standard system, you can block one specific bin for the specific material with Putaway strategy "Fixed bin" by maintaining this bin in material master. It is unclear that you set "allowed mix storage" and again required material specific putaway in bin.
You can change "Mixed storage" indicator to blank. Which explains "___" Mixed storage is not allowed
All storage units in a storage bin must contain the same material and batch (one quant).
If you don't want to change any of current setting you'll need to use the user exit and maintain custom table where you can maintain specific bin for the material for the warehouse. After determination of the bin to putaway in the standard code you can check if it is conflicting to the entry in your custom table.

Inventory block is active in storage bin altough there is no open inventory

We're using continuous inventory method in our warehouse. Sometimes, we see that inventory block is active in a storage bin, altough the all inventory documents regarding this bin are cleared and there is no open inventory document for the related bin. Do you have an idea how could this happen ?

Hi,
This kind of issues occurs due to some inconsistencies during the processing of inventory processes.
I request you to check all the tables regarding the inventory statuses for LINK, LINV, LINP etc.
Also please check whether the quant also is cleared correctly in the table LQUA.
If only the LAGP-SKZSI is active. Then you have to remove this flag manually in debugging via SE16 for this field.

WM -Storage bin 3000711133 ( nothing but TO no) blocked for stock removal

Dear Friends,
1.User has created TO for 2 qty.
2.While confirming it , he has put 1 qty in qty diff - could be by mistake,
3.Now this one qty is went to stock differnece - Storage type 999 and the storage bin as "TO" number.
4.I suggested them to clear the differnces through LI21 , but they dont want to do it , as it will heat financial accounts too.
5.They want to transfer this one qty from 999 storage type to the required storage type
6.I tried with LT01 - user mvt type 999 , & also 201 , and used souce storage type as 999 and storage bin as TO no, but i am getting message -Storage bin 3000711133 ( this is nothing but TO no) blocked for stock removals
7.even i tried with LT09 - but it dosent work...
It should allow to move the material from 999 through lt01 , in our case it is not allowing, could you please help me to resolve this issue, if i need to do some customisation changes then where i have to do?

I request few corrections for my last post.
As understood now, you picked quantity was 2 pcs , while confirming user has mistakenly put 1 pc in qty difference field.
Here when user has entered 1 (reduced quantity that the delivery quantity in outbound delivery) then he has to enter difference indicator for reduced quantity which must have been configured in the system.
Now say that you have deliver the 1 pc which was confimred in TO to customer, at the same time your delivery must ahve been updated with pick and pack quantity as 1.
But still 1 qty lies in interim storage type (XXX) with stoareg bin as trsnfer order number.
Now to put this stock back in original stoarge type and bin.
You please try LT01 with movement type as 999 which is warehouse supervision.
Now in next screen you enter the stoare type (XXX) and stoareg bin i.e. your transfer order number in source data
and destination storage type and bin will be automatically picked.
Now Press Enter . 'You will get warning message as check you entries' ignore that message and save

Storage Bin Blocked

Hi ,
I am trying to do a transfer posting with 311 from Storage location to Storage location. One sloc is warehouse managed and the other one is not warehouse managed. When i am doing that it is giving me an Hardstop error message " Storage Bin 000 Example is currently blocked".
Please advice what needs to be done on this issue.

Go to LS03N transaction check in static tab transfer order.If it is open then confirm the transfer order.It seems open TO stopping you transfer the material .

WMS: Config to block an occupied storage bin

Dear All,
I have got a user requirement where by upon stock placement, system should always propose the next empty bin available.
Besides that, a block should be applied on that bin immediately once stock placement is done. The block is to ensure, no further stock placement can be done into the storage bin, even though there is space available. It should not prevent picking.
The block should be removed, when the storage bin is empty.
From the above requirement, the stock placement strategy should be - Next Empty bin (L).
What about the blocking mechanism ? Is there any config that will acheive the requirement above.
Yes - at the storage type definition, there is a config called "block upon stock placement". However the block is only activated during stock placement. Once the TO is confirmed, the blocking is removed.
Appreciate if anyone out there could share their experience.

You can use the Capacity check method on the storage type.
2 Check based on palletization accord. to SUT 1
Maintain the Storage Unit type 1 in the material master and upon received, it will block.
Or
You can use the remaining capacity based on your process.

Inspection lot creation on storage bin

Hello all,
I am wanting to learn how to create an inpection lot of stock within a storage bin.
I ask because we have many storage bins in our warehouse location storing the same material.
If I do a MIGO 322 transaction in inspection lot there is no where to specify bin location, it looks at the warehouse as 1 storage location.
In the lower half of the migo screen there is a 'storage bin' section but it is blocked out and I cannot identify which storage bin I am wanting to inspect within that storage location.
I know I can create a transfer through LT01 however this still doesn't appear in QA32 inspection lots.
I want the bin location to stay in the same storage location but be flagged for quality inspection.

Hi,
It seems you have both MM and WM activated. You have to assign storage locations to warehouse numbers in customizing, definition of organization step. Then when you do a 322, transfer requirements will be created by the system and you can transfer the material to a storage bin by turning the requirement into a transfer order. Assignment of new storage locations to warehouses may be tricky, you better ask for consulting on this matter.

Storage bin not getting cleared

I need your help on an issue regarding inventory block of a particular storage bin due to a material which is no longer existing in that particular bin and has already been consumed.
The user is able to create a new physical inventory document for all the storage bins but one.The only one which she is unable to clear is storage bin no. xxxxx.This particular bin is blocked and showing as inventory active against the old phy. inv. doc.
Looking into the Inventory tab of the bin display transaction, we would see 3 materials, out of which there is a material x which is no stock in that bin. While the other 2 materials y and z are not in Inventory active status. Hence, the only reason why the bin is still showing as blocked is due to material x
I tried using LS06 to unblock the particular bin xxxxx, but was unsuccessful in doing so.

I am looking for a similar approach for making our own JSF component.
I don't want to put jsf-impl API into lib directory. Is it possible to make a simple component using jstl standard libraries ?

in material master i have assigned Storage bin ( WH2 view ) but at the time of creating Transfer Order if user put different storage bin then system accept that at post the material to other storage bin .... ( not puting material in storage bin mentioned in material master)
i want to block the TO if user mention any different storage bin at the time of creating TO

How to Unblock a Storage Bin With an Inventory Active Flag

Hi,
I have a storage bin that shows as being blocked by an Inventory active flag, but the inventory document has been canceled. I can't even view this document since it was canceled. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi,
You should be able to click on the bin master data (click on bin # and go to inventory tab) and take the recent inventory doc # then go to li02 and delete the inv. doc. That will solve your problem.
You could also try LX22: Edit > Deactivate.

Storage bin available when posting change is not confirmed completely

Dear Gurus, I have a question for you:
My costumer wants to do a posting change when the material is released from QM with a decision usage from Q to unrestricted use. The process is done in two steps: with LU04 the TO is generated and with LT12 is confirmed. When the TO is generated the position is half confirmed. With LT21 we can see the row for the ST (lets say ST 504 Open Storage type) and a second row 922 TR-ZONE. The first row appears green (as confirmed) and the second row appears red (Not confirmed).
My costumer says that " beacause of the strategy given for the storage entry, the storage bin released in the TO (not confirmed completely yet) is available at this moment.
If the storage bin is still physically full, the carrier will found not space for leaving the goods even SAP is telling him there is space available at this storage bin."
I have read that once yo start a TO the storage bin is blocked until the transaction is fully confirmed.
If this is correct I need to demostrate it and I don not find the way to do it.
I hope you understand my explanation and give me any clue.

From the above it isn't entirly clear that the first part of the T.O. is actualy confirmed, my settings are to autoconfirm this so I have no example to look at in my system. Perhaps the display shows the first line green before any actual confirmation..
I assume the stock status has not changed when you first view the T.O.? If the t.o. is partly confirmed I would expect to see the stock status changed and a neg in 922 until the second part is confirmed. Perhaps there is no confirmation at all yet, in LT21 what is the confirmation status? If you view the transfer order header there would be a partial confirmation showing with a yellow triangle, do you see this or no confirmation indicated at all?

Move stock between storage bin

We have some materials created in the past and are created in dummy storage bin.
Now we need to move this materials to the correct storage bin. How can I do move X units from a storage bin to other storage bin. Create a TR between storages bin??
Other question, how can I create manually with GR, a material in a storage bin, I mean how can associate a material to a storage bin.

As per your statement I understand you are facing problem while TO creation through LT10. It seems you are getting destination bins which are blocked.
Storage bins get blocked if there is an open inventory document.If you are looking for a specific bin which is blocked then clear the relevant inventory document. Also it is possible that due to some reason supervisor blocks specific bin ,you can see it in LS06 & unblock it.

Missing definitions for block storage control

Hey guys,
I am trying to transfer my material from a temporary storage bin in storage type 001 to a bin i created in storage type 004. When I go into transaction lt04 and try to do the transfer i get the following message.

Diagnosis
Certain information on block storage control is missing in your system definition.
There is no definition for the sectioning of the storage bins in block storage according to storage bin type, storage unit type and block code.
Procedure
Contact your system administrator about this error. Note down the parameters in the error message and the situation that caused the error.</i>
I have setup the storage bin types and storage unit types. I do not know what the block code is however and I do not really understand what is being asked of me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I had the same problem, everything was correct but the system showed the same error. I changed the material data in transaction MM03, View warehouse Management 1, i inserted values the field "Bulk storage indicator" and the field "Allow addition to existing stock". Other change was in the Storage Bin in transaction LS02N, the storage Bin type should be the same as Storage Unit Type defined in SPRO (Define Strategy for Bulk Storage)
