Blue screen, adequate disk check... don't know why it's happening or what to do?

I bought this laptop recently (Feb/March) so I wasn't expecting to have any problems like this for a while (my old laptop didn't start having problems until I had had it for 4 years). But when I started my laptop today (from hibernation) the blue screen came up saying to check for adequate desk space and whatnot. What can I do to fix this? I can't have my hard drive failing on me again (which was what happened with the old laptop). I'd really appreciate some help, I don't know what to do!
My laptop is Satellite P755-5182, Windows 7.. I don't know what other information you might need but let me know!

If the 'Flash Cards' don't appear at the top of the screen when you hit the 'Fn' key, then click the 'Start' button and type the word flash in the search field. In the programs that appear at the top, you should see 'Restart Flash Cards' and 'Settings for Flash Cards'. First, click on 'Restart Flash Cards', then again click on 'Start' and type in the word flash in the search field. This time click on 'Settings for Flash Cards', and make sure there is NOT a check mark on 'Disable all function keys', click 'Apply' and 'OK'.  Then try the 'Fn+Fx' keys again.
If this doesn't work download these 2 files and double click to install them in this order, reboot after loading each file. Try your Flash Cards Fn key again. If necessary repeat the above paragraph.

  • I've an iMac with OS X 10.4.11. Sudden email problem: every received email has, after the header, 1 - 2 pages of technical data (e.g., Dkim-Signature, Domainkey-Signature, etc.) I don't know why this now happening, and I don't know how to get rid of it.

    I have an iMac using OS X 10.4.11. Beginning several days ago, all incoming emails have, after the usual email header and before the message appears, one to two pages of technical data (e.g., Dkim-Signature, Domainkey-Signature, Content-Transfer-Encoding, etc.). This is similar and more complex that the info one receives when an undeliverable email bounces back. I don't know where this stuff comes from, or how it came, and I don't know how to get rid of it. Any ideas? I'm something of a newbie to computers (um, what's a Tag?).

    That just sounds like the mail headers. Most people don't know (or care) about them so they're usually hidden.
    Check Mail -> Preferences -> Viewing -> Show header detail
    I'm guessing it's set to 'All'. Switch it to 'Default' or None as you prefer.

    I've had to change SIM cards with my provider to have working 3G/4G. It works but the odd thing is when I plug my iPhone and I'm on iTunes. I don't see my number showing up. I see n/a each time.     You have a hardware issue.  Try a different USB port.  If that doesn't work, try a different docking/charging cable.  If that fails, check the USB properties in Device manager.  The ports MUST be USB 2.0.
    Also, try using a different computer....

    I am playing a game through flash player projector. And one time i was playing and it closed and got deleted. I installed it many times and still the same thing happened. I cleared the data, checked for malware, and closed all programs. None of these worked. Can u help? Thanks

    It's extremely unlikely that we'll delete files off your filesystem.  Have you looked in the quarantine section of your virus scanner to see if it's getting flagged?

  • I deleted all of the symantec software  on my macbook, but I am getting an error message saying to run live update or reinstall. I don't know why this is happening, I heard I may still have a file but I have looked and cannot find one. How do I fix this?

    If there is a leftover file, where do I find it. And is my computer at risk?

    I tried doing both, I couldnt find either symantec or live update in applications or when I searched through finder. I went to the activity monitor and found symantec and quit the process but the next time i logged on to my computer, it came back. this is what the error message looks like

    If you still have the problem after restoring to factory defaults/new iPod you likely have a hardware and an appointment a the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I was syncing iPad 2 with my macbook and had no problems.  Now it will NOT sync my iCal on my mac with my iPad.  It only syncs with my gmail cal.  I don't know why the change happened.  Need to keep both calendars synced onto my iPad 2 .

    Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
    Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
    Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

    if the issue was from beginning (dead on arrival) you can call the apple hotline and they can create a replacment for you.
    but if the issue wasnt from beginning than it is a cosmetical issue, cosmetical issues are not covered by the apple warranty. than you should make an appointment in an apple retail store and hope that the workers there replace that device.

  • After shutting down my iMac last night, Firefox will not open this morning and I don't know why?

    My iMac is set to open to my home page My Yahoo with Firefox browser. This morning my Firefox browser is not opening and I don't know why? It does open on my new MacBook Air as per usual. I click on the icon but it does not respond even though I have opened it. this has never happened to me before and I don't know why it's happening now. I did a clean reinstall but that didn't work. Now what?????? With the add-on Troubleshooter should I have asked this question on my iMac using Safari? I am on my MacBook Air asking it.

  • Windows 8.1 Keeps crashing! Blue screens and I don't know why.

    My computer is crashing randomly. Happens once every few days or so. It started happening when I installed a new fan and heatsink. My cpu never goes over 50 C now so I don't know why it is crashing. Here is the dump file. Please help me :/

    Hi,
    In order to assist you, we will need the .DMP files to analyze what exactly occurred at the time of the crash, etc.
    If you don't know where .DMP files are located, here's how to get to them:
    1. Navigate to the %systemroot%\Minidump folder.
    -- %systemroot% is the environment variable for your Windows directory. For example, C:\Windows.
    2. Copy any and all .DMP files in the Minidump folder to your Desktop, create a new folder on the Desktop to put these .DMP files in, and then zip the folder. You can then either use a 3rd party tool such as 7-Zip/Winrar, or you can use Windows'
    default method of zipping folders.
    Compress and uncompress files (zip files).
    Please note that any "cleaner" programs such as TuneUpUtilities, CCleaner, etc, by default will delete .DMP files upon use. With this said, if you've run such software, and your Minidump folder is empty, you will need
    to allow the system to crash once again to generate a crash dump.
    3. Upload the .ZIP containing the .DMP files to Onedrive or a hosting site of your choice and paste in your reply.
    Preferred sites: Onedrive, Mediafire, Dropbox, etc. Nothing with wait-timers, download managers, etc.
    4 (optional): The type of .DMP files located in the Minidump folder are known as Small Memory Dumps. In %systemroot% there will be what is known as a Kernel Memory Dump (if your system is set to generate). It is labeled MEMORY.DMP. The difference
    between Small Memory Dumps and Kernel Memory Dumps in the simplest definition is a Kernel Memory Dump contains
    much more information at the time of the crash, therefore allowing further debugging of your issue. If your upload speed permits it, and you aren't going against any strict bandwidth and/or usage caps, etc, the Kernel Memory Dump is
    the best choice. Do note that Kernel Memory Dumps are much larger
    in size due to containing much more info, which is why I mentioned upload speed, etc.
    If you are going to use Onedrive but don't know how to upload to it, please visit the following:
    Upload photos and files to Onedrive.
    After doing that, to learn how to share the link to the file if you are unaware, please visit the following link -
    Share files and folders and change permissions and view 'Get a link'.
    If your computer is not generating .DMP files, please do the following:
    1. Start > type %systemroot% which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.
    2. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for
    all drives'.
    3. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the
    system log'.
    Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.
    4. Double check that the WERS is ENABLED:
    Start > Search > type services.msc > Under the name tab, find Windows Error Reporting Service > If the status of the service is not Started then right click it and select Start. Also ensure that under Startup Type it is set to Automatic rather than
    Manual. You can do this by right clicking it, selecting properties, and under General selecting startup type to 'Automatic', and then click Apply.
    If you cannot get into normal mode to do any of this, please do this via Safe Mode.

    When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is especially bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.  
    These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
    The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
              SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
    from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
    Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
    Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.
    Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
    The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
    Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
    Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
    Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
