Bluetooth headphone with MIC

I'm considering to purchase a Bluetooth headphone with MIC for my iPad mini. If I connect, will the headphone MIC take over the iPad's builtin microphone?

However, it sounds like you're saying that the headphones will work but the microphone won't, right? Thanks
mainly true and most likely yeah! The sound will come through the headsets but the microphone will not be able to function at all.... The bluetooth on the iPod touch is very limited to what function it can perform, like Meg St. Clair mentioned is for stereo Headphone; wireless speakers and games. Things like headsets or anything(like microphones)that might be used as with Bluetooth is not supported. The only way you can get a microphone to work is if it's plugged in on the headphone Jack at the bottom of the iPod touch. Sorry that you had to hear that, you were probably hoping that you could use the Bluetooth with that microphone.....

  • Why do apple headphones with mic loose sound???

i've had numerous apple headphones with mic and they seem to loose sound from one earplug!
Anyone know why? At £26 pound each time, they're not cheap!

headsets have been shortlived since I had walkmen in the early 1980's sure expensive ones last a bit longer but they all die pretty early
best way imho is to buy a stereo bluetooth headset which support the bluetooth profiles called a2dp

  • I lost one of the earbuds for my Apple In-ear Headphones with Mic. Now what do It do?

I lost one of the earbuds for my Apple In-ear Headphones with Mic.
In case you don't see why this could be a big deal, let me remind you that these little earphones will run you $79 new. Naturally, I'm sure there's got to be a reasonable solution that another owner of these headphones may know of or can share with me.
Should I bring it to the Apple store or will they just laugh at me?
Basically, all I'm missing is the jelly-like in-ear bud on one side (which is easily replaceable; I just need to know where I can order GENUINE extras from).
Click here to see the Apple In-ear Headphones I'm referring to.

I've tried several and the best by far is the Sennheiser MM50 iP ($99 at the apple store). The sound is incredible, particularly the low frequecy response (bass). These are even better than the Bose Triports I used for my iPod, plus they have the mic and button for recieving calls and ipod playback. I also have the airdrives, which don't even compare for sound quality and range because they aren't in-ear (they sit directly in front of the ear canal). I still use the airdrives in situations where I want music distraction but still want to hear what's happening around me, but for in-ear sound quality and iPhone functionality I don't think you're going to find better for the Sennheisers for under $100. In fact I don't think their is anything under $250 right now that would match it for performance, comfort and functionality.
Note: these are asymmetrical which means the cord for the right earbud goes behind your neck to the right ear. I found this strange at first but now I actually like it because it allows you to pull the earlplugs out and just let them rest over your neck/shoulders.

  • Can I use Bluetooth headphones with a 1st generation iPhone?

Can I use Bluetooth headphones with a 1st generation iPhone? The headphones pair but the sound comes out of the phone and not the headphones. The phone has iOS 3.1 which is the last software the phone will support. Thanks.

    This will help you:
    Original iPhone
The original iPhone features Bluetooth capabilities only for making calls. Connecting to a PC or streaming audio other than phones calls through Bluetooth is not supported.
    IPhone 3G
With the iPhone 3G operating system, its Bluetooth capabilities are expanded to support wireless stereo headsets, file sharing with other Bluetooth devices, and use of the iPhone as a 3G modem. Also supported are new capabilities for combining the iPhone with Bluetooth accessories.
    IPhone 4.0
The 4.0 version of the iPhone's operating systems keeps the expanded Bluetooth functions introduced in version 3 and adds one new benefit: Bluetooth keyboard support, so iPhone owners can use wireless keyboards wherever they go.

  • Does anyone know how much apple charge to replace apple headphone with mic?

If they are under warranty - nothing.
If not, then you would have to buy a new set.

  • Is there a way to use Bluetooth headphones with apple tv

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to use my Bluetooth headphones with my Apple TV3. I know it has Bluetooth as I can use the keyboard.

It's a pretty good idea - why not send a suggestion here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html
....especially as AppleTV has no analogue audio out, and most non-Bluetooth wireless headphones would expect an analogue input (there are some expensive ones that handle optical, or the user coudl maybe use TV headphone/audio out, but Bluetooth audio might be handy for many.

  • Best alernative headphones with mic rem for iphone 4s

Which are the best alernative headphones with mic and remote compatible with SIRI for iphone 4s?

Im using the a-Jays Four. They seem great, mic is supposedly same as the one on Apple's own headset. The position is the same (lower jaw) and all button commands for volume, skip, fwd, siri etc are the same as with the official Apple headet.
Sound is good enough for my ears and it seems to get the best reviews for any headet under £90.
Yes there may be some that sound better and you will hear many say that especially from bass heads but none that have the quality of sound and a mic and controls that work as simply as Apple's headset.

  • Videos/Games use internal speaker and not Bluetooth headphones with 4.2

Until yesterday, the bluetooth headphones would output all sounds.. music, videos, games..
With 4.2, it now only outputs sound on MUSIC. For videos, you need to click the sound icon and select the headphones. If you're listening to the ipod music on shuffle (and have music videos in there), it will play the music part in the headphones but switch the ipad speaker when a video comes on.
As annoying as that is, this part can be changed. In games, theres no way to change the output to the headphones (it's all the ipad speaker).
Is this intentional? something I need to change in settings somewhere?

You've done well with troubleshooting so far. Next step would be to back up and then restore from iTunes. Good luck!

No, the iPod and the Mac have different operating systems; iOS and OS X respectively. The apps must be developed for the Specific OS. When the same app is for both platforms, they are actually two different apps and if you want both, then you have to buy both separately from their respective app stores.

  • Headphone with mic not working properly on Bootcamp Windows 7

Hey, guys. I have a Macbook Air mid-2012, installed Windows 7 (Bootcamp) and I wish a I could use my Sony Stereo Headset DR-EX12iP with mic for chatting while playing some games. But the microphone isn't working in Windows 7 and I don't know why. I already searched over the internet about an answer but found none. The build-in microphone of MBA is too much sensitive and bother my friends. Just for information, I use the same headset in Mac OS X and it works perfectly with facetime and skype.
I hope somebody can help me out. Thanks!

Apparently there is no good answer for the problem...

  • Bluetooth Headphones with FM Radio?

Can I use Bluetooth Headphones to listen to the FM Radio on a 7th Generation Ipod nano?

The irritating part is that if you connect the wired earphones and play music it WILL connect to BT headphones and speakes and send the audio to those BT devices. So it is absolutely possible to have wired headphones attached and redirect the audio to BT. They just didn't implement this for the FM Radio, or forgot, or didn't think it was important. The requirement for the headphones for the antenna, shouldn't preclude using BT as an output for the FM Radio. The switch output device shown in the nano manual (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/ipod_nano_user_guide.pdf) pg 55 only appears next to the volume control if you are playing music.
Needs to be fixed, if for no other reason than it is inconsistent. A blight on the interface.

  • Bluetooth headphones with itunes

i have some bluetooth headphones, LG HBS-200 and a bluetooth usb dongle for my laptop. I can connect my headphones to my computer, but i don't know how to make itunes work through them. (or any other media like power dvd for that matter) any help would be greatly appreciated.

i finally figured out how to make itunes play on your bluetooth headset...kind of a pain.
    this is on vista...
click on the start bar, click on search, type sound.
click on sound, when sound loads you should see a list of sound devices for your computer. you have to disable your primary audio output.
FYI, right click and click display disabled items, so you dont have to go manually turn your internal speaker or speaker outputs back on
