BO 4.0: cannot create new WebI document as admin

Hi,
I am logged in on our BO 4.0 server as administrator and would like to create a sample WebI report. So I started WebI from the Launchpad but the "create new document" icon is inactive...
I do have full access and I am using the administrator login... what's missing?

Hi Steve,
Have you tried from another client/browser computer using the same account?
How about using the rich client? Can you create documents and save them to the repository?

  • Can't create new Web Intelligence documents

    Hello,
    Only user Administrator can create new Web Intelligence documents on Infoview at my Installation.  I 've created a new group called GROUP1. This group has  Full Control acces level on folders, universes and conections like group Administrators. A user from group GROUP1 can't create new document Web Intellingence. Also, when I have joined this user to Administrators group, then this user was allowed to create a new Web Intellingence document.
    Could anybody help me?

    please check the rights for GROUP at application level.
    I thinck you are not are not grated the rights for the Group 1 for teh Webintelligence applicaton,

  • New Webi Document - First Folder is Always Expanded

    Hello.
    When ever we create a new Webi document, the first folder (class) on the Query panel is always expaned, the other folders are collapsed. How can we have all folders (classes) open collapsed rather than the first being expanded?
    Our system is BOE XI 3.1 sp2, Java query editor, Tomcat for web.

    As far I know it is the default behaviour in WebI/Dashboards and even Deski(not sure). I think in order to collapseall the folders when opening a new/existing report it we need to do some customization.

  • What is the best process for creating a webi document?

    I inherited a BI 4.0 environment with published repositories, dashboards, and webi documents.
    For development purposes, I tried creating the webi document local to my machine (due to how slow it was to create the document using BILaunch pad and/or the webi rich client on the "console")
    I created it as 'standalone, pointing to a local universe'; however, I can't figure out a way to move it back into my enterprise world.
    I was able to convert and publish the local universe to my enterprise repository; however, because I created the document in standalone mode, it doesn't appear to want to let me change the data source to a universe.
    So right now .. I have a webi document that won't let me select a universe for a data source.
    Any help or proven methods for creating documents then moving them to an enterprise environment would be appreciated.

    I don't think Acrobat, or the Acrobat SDK can help you. Acrobat cannot be run on a server.

  • MI31: Cannot Create Physical Inventory Document for a Certain Material

    Dear SAP MM Friends,
    Greetings! I am a budding MM functional analyst in our company. I received a call earlier regarding with transaction code MI31 (Selected Data for Physical Inventory Documents w/o Special Stock). The user cannot generate a physical inventory document for a certain material.
    The thing is, we no longer have any stock for this material (MMBE). I tried generating physical document again by ticking "Only Materials with Zero Stock" but to no avail.
    May I ask what might be the reasons behind? Your prompt response is highly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Please check also the existing physical inventory document for material, probably you still have active physical document from previous period.
    1. Go to MI22 --> select your plant, storage location or you can also specify your material number --> execute.
    2. Check your Physical Document list, at field Status doc. --> if the status is Doc. active, but it is not in your current period, then it could be the problem.
    3. Delete the physical inventory doc that you found in step 2 (use tcode MI02 --> physical doc, year --> choose delete button)
    4. Try to create new physical document for the material.

  • Error in Creating New Web Application SharePoint 2013

    Everything was working fine but today when i try to create  a new web application i am getting the following error.It's happening whenever i am trying to create a new web application.
    The directory C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\26060 is already being used by another IIS Web Site.  Choose a different root directory for your new Web application. 
    But this port 26060 was not being used before and if i try to create new web application again then the error message occurs with the port number of the new web application.

    Are you using a host header when creating these web apps? If so have you tried creating without a host header? Also are you logged in with the Server with the Admin account? Check this out: (taken from Jeremy Taylor's

    " 1. Ensure you have a proper dns name / entry in the hosts file of your server for the new url you are wanting to create.
    2. Ensure you have typed in the ‘host header’ typed in when creating the new web application.
    3. If this doesnt work, open IIS Manager – Start>run> inetmgr> and verify the home directory – it could be located on a different drive."
    Also have you tried creating through Powershell and see if you run into the same issue or not?

    There could be many reason like IIS issue, Space issue, Permission issue, SQL issue which is not possible us to guess rather
    you need to jump in the SharePoint log(Program Files\Common files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS) and find out the specific error log its throwing after which trouble shoot can be start.

  • New Webi Document Default Color - BOE XI 3.1 SP2

    Hello.
    We would like to change the default color in a new webi document. I have changed defaultconfig.xml in the following paths.
    Tomcat55\webapps\AnalyticalReporting\
        webiApplet\AppletConfig
        webiApplet\AppletConfig\AppletConfig
        WEB-INF\classes
    This works as expected for Webi creation options Advanced and Interactive and the default color on my report is what I have set in the config xml file.
    But, Webi creation option Web Accessibility still shows the out of the box BO blue color. How do I change the default color for the Web Accessibility option?

    Windows server
    BOE XI 3.1 SP2

    Hi Nancy
    The accesible option was designed for people with disabilities who may use screen readers or other devices to interpet what is being shown on the report. As such, it probably won't pick up the default formatting properties from the XML file as the colour of the box wouldn't matter much if it's content was being read through a screen reader.

  • Create new PR document type

    Hi all,
    I have a requirement to create new PR document type and replace existing PR document type.
    What are the pre-requistes for replacing the existing document type?
    How will it impact on business process?

    Create new document type copying existing one but dont delete the existing doc type as it will affect the old PRs.
    To stop usage of existing doc type you can remove its number range assignment so that no new PR will be created using that doc type.
    For new doc type you have to assign number range.
    Assign field selection key.
    If you have used doc type as characteristics in release strategy then maintain new doc type in release startegy.
    Also check whether the new doc type is linked to purchasing doc types such as PO/RFQ/Contract.
    If you have activated version management for PR then maintain new doc type in version management.

  • Cannot create new folders in Outlook

    I just bought a new PC computer.  I installed MSFT Office Professional Plus 2010.  I opened Outlook and added in (i) the pst folder I had set up from my previous Vista
    computer (also with Outlook 2010), (ii) my hotmail account, (iii) my at&t/yahoo account and (iv) my gmail account.  I cannot create new folders in any of them.
    When I right click anywhere in the navigation pane and select "New Folder..." I get the following error message:
    "Outlook cannot read the registry information.
    -Close and restart Outlook.
    -Reinstall Outlook
    -Reinstall Microsoft Exchange or other e-mail system."
    I tried all three, including removing and reinstalling Office and removing all of the email accounts/pst files and re-adding and still have the problem.
    If I try to right-click properties on any of the accounts, I get the same error message, with the following additional language first:
    "Cannot display 'General' page. This page will remain visible, but is not available."
    Not sure what is left to try.

    I am not able to save a new Webi Document.
    The " SAVE" , "PRINT" are not highlighted...

    the save and pring will not be highlighted when you are in the edit query mode
    just run the report for the first time, or click "Edit Report",, you will get then highlighted and you can save the report.
    if this is not the case, then you dont have an access right to save Webi Reports, ask your administrator to give you this access

    and I found one of the server in container ADSIEdit were disabled inheritance. execute setup.exe /prepareAD, reboot the server (because it
    ask for it), then execute setup.exe /preparedomain

    For ODBC, Note   1272557 - Data Access Drivers missing while creating a new connection in Designer
