BOM and PDS in integration model

Hi, All!!
Could you help me colleagues?
I try to create integration model in ECC (transacion CFM1), but at choice PDS or BOM the system gives out the message: "Integration model contains object types not valid for this APO release"
How to transfer in APO this data?

Thanks, I have understood

  • Issue with CIF Integration model for Transaction data

    Hi Gurus,
I have activated the Integration model for PO & PReqs by location wise and i assumed that transaction data is online and we need not to re activate for any new Product / location combination got created in system.
But the issue is that every time a new material got created, we need to deactivate and activate the integration model for Transaction data to get the transaction data into APO.
Is there any way to avoid the following exercise as it is taking very long time for activation.
Please guide me as it is very urgent.
    Thanks for help in advance...
    Thanks & Regards,
    Jagadeesh

I assume 1,60,000 location products are spread around different locations.
Rather than one Integration Model it is better to have multiple Integration Models.
For example: one for each region like North America, one for Europe, one for Asia (assuming you have countries spread across the world). Or create Intgeration Model by Country.
This way you reduce the number of Products in an Integration Model.
It is very important to have manageable set of Integration Models. Let me give an example - you have some problem hence the single Material Master Integration Model is down (inactive). At that time any PP or PDS transfer will not have the Header or COmponent products transferred to APO (in effect PDS/PPM cannot be transferred). If you are creating or converting Planned Orders they will not transfer to R/3 (as Header product is not part of active intgeration model).
But if you have country spefic or region specific Integration Model - only that country is affected not all.
In fact you should have other integration model (like PDS/PPM, Procurement Relationships, Planned / Production Orders, Sales Orders, Stocks) in same manner i.e. either Country(s) specific or group of countries by region. The risk of models getting inactive or taking too much time to activate after regeneration easily outweighs management of more number of Integration Models (compared to one Global integration model per object).
Hope this gives you some direction.

  • Deleting an Integration Model.

    hi Guys
if any kind of changes happens in master data in ECC then we transfer that data in SCM,then what happens with that planning data with which we work earlier.
And Deleting an integration model does not mean that the previously selected data in APO is also deleted.what happens of that data.

    Hi Karan,
    1) if any kind of changes happens in master data in ECC then we transfer that data in SCM,then what happens with that planning data with which we work earlier.
As and when you activate an integration model, a new integration model gets
generated and the earlier one will get deactivated.  (provided the model name,
model selection criteria are same).  That means the newly changed master data
will get activated to SCM system in which the old change is obsolete.
    2) And Deleting an integration model does not mean that the previously selected data in APO is also deleted.what happens of that data
Whenever a new model gets generated, the old model will be there in the system
only and that inactive models needs to be deleted at frequent intervals orelse
it will add inconsistency to the system.  This will be done using CFM7 transaction
by selecting inactive models indicator.  Whether the old model is deleted or not, but
system always will read and plan as per the newly activated model.

  • CIF user exit works for Integration Model only when we De-Activate

    Hi Friends,
I have enhanced the CIF User Exit [EXIT_SAPLMEAP_001] and populated the code in Include ZXCIFU14 for calculating the value of Open Order Quantities[OOQ] with respect to Material, Plant and Contracts, PO's then It transfer the OOQ from R/3 to APO.
Here it is Triggering the User Exit and working fine only when we De-Actrivate and Activate the Integration Model thru CFM3.
But In case of PO changes it is automatically calling the User Exit and Trasfer the OOQ from R/3 to APO.
When we change the Master Data it is not triggering the User Exit Automatically.
Could you someone suggest why we required to De-Activate the User Exit when we run the Integration Model every time.
Please suggest if we need to follow any pre required steps and why this behaviour for User Exit [EXIT_SAPLMEAP_001].
Waiting for your answer......Thanks in advance.......

    Hello,
Could you please provide details about the master data you mentioned in your query. This exit is called for PO, PR ,confirmation, shipping notificatoin objects.

  • Integration model activation issue - After Prod to Quality refresh of R/3

    Hi Guys,
Our R/3 quality system refreshed from production. Hence all the integration models Logical system pointing APO production system. Mistakenly I deactivated all the integration model in R/3 Q system which having APO Production logical system.
All the IM in R/3 quality system are inactive. When try send material getting error message "relavent location doesn't exist".
For that try to move the Location getting error message "Location already exist in APO Quality" system.
Now I want to active the all the Plant, material.etc integration models. Please let me know if any more information and help to overcome the issue.
    Thanks,
    Saravanan V

    Saravanan
Make a table level change and set the integration model flag as active in the table CIF_IMOD. This will help you solve the issue .
Go to transaction SE16 . Give table name as CIF_IMOD. Give the name of you integration model and execute . Now all versions of that integration model will be displayed ( this will happen if you have many inactive versions and do not have the RIMODDEL program to delete inactive IM's) . Choose the latest version and go to change mode  and set the value of "Entry is active"  (technical name ACTIVE) field to  I.
You can take help from development team if you do not have authorization to SE16

  • Integration model activation

    Hi All
Goal : To activate the Integration model
Right now, we are working on quality systems (both ECC and APO). There is a Int.Model for masterdata from ECC to APO. The Integration model is not getting activated.
Reason: In APO under /sapapo/cq we have these line items "Base unit of measure for product X cannot be changed' (several hundreds of materials).
Looks like there is a mismatch of Units of measurement for the same product in ECC and APO. For now I am matching the Units of Measurements in both the systems, but its kind of cumbersome because there are several hundreds of materials in the queues.
Also, suprisingly there are some products whose Units of measurements *match* and are still in the line items (queues)
Is there any better way to address this and activate the Integration model?
    Thanks
    Pooja
Edited by: Pooja Challa on Sep 29, 2009 9:03 PM

    Hi Pooja,
It is not advisable to change the base unit of measure in R/3 for the materials which have been transferred to APO. But it may be necessary to change it in R/3. During that time SAP is kind enough to give the warning.
I am not sure how many materials are there in R/3 whose unit of measure has changed. If it is possible to find out using some kind of change document report then it will be good input to next step.
Next step would be to maintain new base unit of measure of the material in the R/3 system is created as an alternative unit of measure of the product in APO (transaction /SAPAPO/MAT1, 'Units of Measure' tab) so that the units can be converted in APO if necessary.
Since you only change the base unit of measure in an R/3 system in exceptional cases, it is assumed that you will subsequently change the change material manually in APO.
    Thanks and Best Regards, Manoj
PS: I would encourage you to have look at following notes:
Note 832595 - Product: Base unit of measure cannot be changed using CIF
Note 809596 - Product: Base unit of measure must not be changed

  • BOP selects products without an active ATP CIF integration model ?

    Hello experts,
while setting up a GATP BOP Process I'm realizing that BOP is not automatically restricting the products from the loaction to which have an active ATP CIF model.
    Example:
    Location: 1000
    Products: A, B, C
Product A is in APO for DP and SNP reasons and there is no ATP CIF model for A-1000 combination. Products B and C have been setup only for GATP reasons (but not for DP and SNP). If I run the BOP for entire location 1000 (product fiter = empty) it is picking all 3 products including product A and is rescheduling Sales orders for product A in location 1000 - although there is no GATP CIF model active.
Is this standard behaviour or do I miss anything here ? (I assumed that APO would never take a product into a BOP Filter which does not have an active and standing GATP integration model towards the ECC system.)
    Regards
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
SAP documentation as in below URL
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm70/helpdata/en/9c/066f3928025a6ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm
states for filtering criteria in its pre-requisite . It appears that it only looks for materials filtered in BOP (i.e it does not look for materials meant for ATP check in its CIF).
However, let us wait for comments from experts.

  • Reactivating integration models

    Hello All,
I deactivated a big sales order integration model in my production system. While trying to reactivate the RIMODAC2 program is taking huge time(30 mins) to complete for 5 part-plant combination. I have around 100K part-plant combinations.
Is there a short cut to reactivate? If there is some alternate program to somehow reactivate the models.Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Anyone ever had such a situation? Any ideas.
    Thanks and regards
    Sanjeev

    Hi Sanjeev,
There is no short cut but I can explain you a way.
First please confirm that only one transaction data integration model was inadvertantly deactivated.
Second - the steps I mention below should be carried out with "care" and after notifying business users suitably as you have to do this when there is mimimal activity in the system.
    Broad steps:
    1. Stop the CIF Queue by going into /SAPAPO/OM17
    2. Activate the sales order integration model
    3. There should be queues created inbound to your SCM/APO system (check in SMQ2)
    4. Wait till all queues are created for the Sales Order Integration Model and make sure you see the CIF_GEN_EVENT queue (last queue which after going to SCM system returns to R/3 ERP system and marks the Integration Model as active)
    5. Delete all the CIF queues for the Sales Order Integration Model except the CIF_GEN_EVENT queue.
    6. Start the CIF Queue - the CIF-GEN_EVENT queue should process
    7. Confirm that the Integration Model is activated in R/3
    8. Run Delta Report (/SAPAPO/CCR) and resolve any differences
Disclaimer: This is not a SAP documented solution.
Hope this helps and works out for you.
    Thanks,

  • ECC upgrade and integration models

    Experts,
We are upgrading our R3 system from 4.7 to ECC 6.0.  We currently use SCM 5.1.  During the upgrade from SCM 4.0 to 5.1, we had to do a re-initial transfer of our PDS integration models and a full curto_create, because the PDS tables had changed so much.
Is there a similar concern with an upgrade of R3 4.7 to ECC 6.0?  Should I be doing a re-initial transfer of my integration models after the new ECC 6.0 system is built and released?
    Thanks,
    Matthew Bruckner

    Hi Mathew,
Thanks for input. We are going for upgrade from SCM 4.1 to 7.0.
I never been upgrade of ECC. I think it is always better to do the initial transfer after upgrade.
Any way initial transfer will not create any issues.
Also check T.code SPAU to know the modification in the upgrade system from your old version.
    I hope this helps.

  • CIF - Integration model name and APO application

    Hi Experts,
In the CFM1 Transaction, there are 3 mandatory inputs are Model name, Logical system and APO application.
Logical systems are customized in CFC1 transaction. I couldn't trace the model name and application creation.
What is the transaction to customize/Create the new Model name and APO application.
Hope this is very simple question to you and expect your soon.
    Thanks,
    Saravanan V

    Hi Somnath,
    Thanks for ur reply.
First I saved the selection as variant. But it was not updated in the IM table.
Then I tried to generate the model and now I can see the details when I use the F4 help.
So, to create a integration model need to generate the variant once.
    Thanks for the confirmation.
    Thanks,

  • Integration Models and CCR simultaneously . .

    Dear All,
    i have 2 questions :
    1) Why cant we run two Integration model simultaneously ???
    and
    2) Why cant we run CCR jobs in parallel with planning run ???
Please let me know your observations and opnions.
    Regards,
    Prasad

    Hi Prasad,
Below are the answers for your queries.
    1) Why cant we run two Integration model simultaneously ???
Integration models are the building blocks of both master data and transactional data for APO.  It has to be contructed in APO in a sequence or in a order so that the updation of data can be performed sequentially.  Each data will look into the update of other data.  For example, we need to run integration model for location first and then location-product.  The first run of location will create integration model for location in APO and then when we run subsequently the location-product, the combination will be referred in APO.  If we run both location and location-product together, if location-product tries to update the APO system first(tables) before location data, then it will throw out error and cancel the model run.  Hence, it is advisable to run the models one by one in a sequence.
    2) Why can't we run CCR jobs in parallel with planning run?
CCR runs will compare the transactional data between both R/3 and APO and display the results.  Planning run will perform the planning based on the selection conditions and it takes data from both R/3 and APO.  The planning results will be transferred from APO to R/3 based on our customisation settings.  During the time, when transfer of results happening, if paralley, comparison of both system data happens via CCR job, it will not give correct data or end up with errors or tries to cancel the job.
    Hope this clarifies your question.
Please confirm whether you are clarified?

  • Diff between PPM and PDS

    Hello everyone,
Can anyone please let me know the differences between PPM and PDS as i'm not able to differentiate these two.
Thanks for your reply in advance.
    Regards,
    Jagadeesh.

    Hi Jagadish,
Please find the difference between PDS and PPM.
    PDS
1)Production Data Structure (PDS) in APO 3.1 & Run Time Object (RTO) in 4.0 and above versions
    2)Master Data Object
3)Useful for scenarios where the component has got different validity periods
4)Used as Master data Basis for Planning in SAP-APO
5)Contains active Master data from iPPE (Integrated Product and Process Engineering) generated from a production version
6)PPDS PDS & SNP PDS can be used as master data for planning
7)Change Management, variant configuration & Phantom assemplies are supported in PDS
8)Sub-contracting in SNP is fully integrated with R/3 is supported in PDS
9)Direct transfer of SNP PDS from R/3 is possible
10)Rapid Planning Matrix can be generated
11)Not possible to maintain PDS directly in APO and can be used only in combination with R/3
12)The transfer of data changes is simpler
13)Not possible to create alternate SNP-PDS in std system for different mode combinations
14)PDS can be automatically generated from two sources ie R/3 and iPPE
    PPM:-
    1)Production Process Model
    2)Master Data Object
3)Cannot be used for scenarios where the component has got different validity period
4)Used as Master data Basis for Planning in SAP-APO
5)Contains active Master data generated from the combination of routing (BoM & receipe) and production versions
6)PPDS PPM & SNP PPM's can be used as master data for planning
    7)Not supported by PPM
    8)Not supported by PPM
9)Not possible here. SNP PPMs will be generated via PPDS PPMs
    10)Not possible
11)PPMs can be directly created in APO and can be modified without R/3 also.
12)Little Complex when compared to PDS
13)Alternate SNP-PPMs can be easily created
14)PPM can be generated automatically generated only from R/3
PDS is used in industries wherein there are multiple components or assemblies having diffeent production versions whose validity periods are different. PPM is being used typically in process industries, chemical industries. PPM is very simple in its usage and very flexible in operations in terms of modifications at APO level and can be referred to client depending on the business requirement.

    Nagesh.

    8. Not supported by PPM
    9. Not possible here. SNP PPMs will be generated via PPDS PPMs
    10. Not possible
    11. PPMs can be directly created in APO and can be modified without R/3 also.
    12. Little Complex when compared to PDS
    13. Alternate SNP-PPMs can be easily created
    14. PPM can be generated automatically generated only from R/3

  • CTM and PDS Structures

    Hello everyone,
We are going to use the following BAdI's to create PDS
    /SAPAPO/CURTO_CREATE
    and for CTM
    CREATE_CTM_PDS
    Questions:-
If we create the PDS for CTM does this still create them for PP/DS? so would the table entries be double? (one for the PP/DS PDS and one for the CTM PDS).
And cane we make the naming of the CTM PDS different to the PP/DS PDS (so insert CTM in front of all the CTM PDS).
    Thanks in advance.
    Guy

    Guy:
When you generate integration model for PDS you choose Rough cut planning and PDS type SNP for CTM, where as PDS for PP/DS goes by its own type with Detailed planning option and when you CIF it over to APO you can see the PDS to check the difference between CTM PDS or PP/DS PDS by there type.
    I hope this help.

  • System copy:integration models altered

    Hi SCM experts,
We have APO 4.1 connected to ECC system.Recently the QAS data is refreshed with PRD data and after that all CIF integration model variants in QAS are pointing to PRD system. There are more than 100 integration model variants and changing the logical system mnaualy to QAS client is taking long time.
Is there any standrad report or t.code by means of which we can do a mass maintenance of these integration model variants ?

    Hi deeparai,
You can change the name of logical system in ECC table CIF_IMOD. However, the integration models will not become active unless you generate them again (CFM1/2/3).
Hope this helps in reducing manual work.
