BOM containing NLAG component

Hi All,
Our client wishes to add a material of type NLAG to a Bill of Material. However they want the NLAG to be set up for only the Basic Data views.
When I attempt to add the NLAG to the BOM, I am receiving the error message "Material x is not maintained in plant Y".
Can anybody tell me if it is possible to add a NLAG with only Basic Data views to a BOM?

Hi,
What Vachanala said is that you can insert a non stock item without material master into the BOM. In this case there's no point in speaking about the material type and views since it is only text.
So it won't solve the problem of your 'NLAG' component except you want to order your material w/o material master.
I'm afraid you cannot add a 'stock item' or 'non-stock item' to your plant-specific BOM if the component's material master record hasn't got any specific view for that plant.

Sub-Contracting where BOM contains NLAG's

Hi All,
We currently are using the Sub-contracting process but we have an issue with adding a material of type NLAG to the Bill of Materials.
We are getting the error message " Material type NLAG cannot be used with item category L"
If i remove the Inventory Mgmt checkbox in the Item categories table it will allow me to add the material to the BOM.
Is this the only way around this and could it have any possible detrimental side-effects?

Thanks for your response. I have done what you said and added the NLAG's using the item category N. However I have another query on this.
If I go through the sub-contracting process of creating a Sales Order which creates a Purchase Req which we convert into a PO, the NLAG components are not visible in the PO.
However if I create a PO direct, all the components of the BOM are visible.
Does anyone have any ideas why this may be so?

The master site control file does not contain a component item for SMS_STATUS_MANAGER.

New to the System Center world. We are using a fresh install of Server 2012 R2 and System Center R2 with everything working until Server 2012 R2 Update 1 was installed. Now we are getting the following:

Any thoughts on how to fix this? Seen a few references to a "site reset" for SCCM 2007 but wanted to make sure there wasn't anything else to try before heading down that road with 2012R2.

A site reset can also be done in CM12 so it's worth a try.

my bpm always has build log like this.
i have no idea why it( Deploy time dependency to DC (the ui project) containing UI component of task (task name) is not available ) happen.
maybe it happen because i chenged the web dynpro's context, but is that normal? or how can i fix it?

Hi Vic,
Looks that you have defined a Deploy time dependency on some DC and it is not present in your local machine while you are deploying your Process Composer DC. If you are working in a NWDI environment, then you can sync all the dependent DCs to resolve this issue. Else you can also remove the Deploy Time dependency for the DC, but ensure that all the DCs having runtime dependency are available at runtime else it will lead to issues at runtime.

You can maintain alternate material for BOM Component by specifying Alternate Item group as below;
Go to CS03/CS02--> Items-> Select Component and go to details->Basic Data Tab--> General Data
Pls. find more details about Alternate Item group maintainance as below:
Alternative item: group
Consolidation of alternative items within a BOM. Every material in the assembly can be included in the alternative item group.
Use
As soon as you enter an alternative item group, you see an additional dialog box with the following data: ranking order, strategy, usage probability.
You can maintain alternative items in the following situations:
Alternative positions with specific usage probability
These alternative items are incorporated with a specific usage probability. Enter the usage probability for each alternative item in the group, so that:
dependent requirements are determined in requirements planning
dependent requirements are changed to a reservation in the production order
Alternative positions as information
You can enter an alternative item for information purposes. This item would then, for example, only be taken into account in situations involving missing parts.
As there should be neither dependent requirements nor a reservation for this item, enter no usage probability.
Procedure
Enter the same character string to denote the alternative items of an alternative item group.
Enter the same strategy for all alternative items in the alternative item group.
Dependencies
Alternative items are valuated in the following way:
Dependent requirements determination
Requirements planning determines the dependent requirements according to the usage probabilities that have been entered.
If the usage probability is 0%, then no procurement is planned for the item. For information purposes, however, dependent requirements with 0 as quantity are created.

You can control the withdrawal posting for the resevation in the production order in the following way:
Withdrawal according to usage probability (manual change is possible)
Withdrawal if there is 100% availability
(Check ranking order and strategy)

Further you can also maintain alternate material if you want to stop using this material at certain time as below:
In material master of the material ,
Go to MRP-4 View----> Under Discongtinued parts specify
Discontinuation Indicator
Eff-out.
Follow-up matl
So system will automatically consider follow up material in BOM as per the settings you have maintained for the material to be replaced.

Third part PR & PO - for structured article (BOM containing LEER article)

We have an interesting case:
Our article masters are as follows:
VOLL (main article) has sales order and purchase order unit CAR, while base unit of measure is PC.
This VOLL article has a LEER component (BOM) article defined in it.
The BOM component is defined for 1 CAR of VOLL article there is 1 PC of LEER BOM component.
In out 3rd party process:
When we create a 3rd party sales order, a purchase requisition is automatically created.
So in the sales order for a VOLL article entered in CAR the BOM component LEER article is automatically determined in PC.
But the issue is that when the purchase requisition is created it has only the main article VOLL in it and the BOM component LEER article is not determined.
Note: In the Purchase requisition the main article (VOLL) has units as PC which is the base unit of measure. (Because PR always have quantities in base units).
How can we make the LEER article (BOM component) appear in the purchase requisition and subsequently in the PO?

BOM explosion for component in ECC which are relevant for planning in APO

Hi ,
as we assign materials the MRP type X0 with the MRP procedure X (without MRP, with BOM explosion) which are relevant to APO, so if i have BOM under this item then how this below level Items will be plan in ECC....?
as we are excluding the component from planning so how the below level will be plan .....?

Answer lies in your question only.
as the assembly is relevant to be planned in APO but it will be exploded in MRP and the lower level component will be planned in R/3 only if required.
Only teh assembly which have MRP type X0 will be planned in APO.
Revert back if you need further clarification.

BOM List in Component overview of maintenance order

Hi Friends
When we look at the structure list in the component overview screen to select the component in the maintenance order, the BOM list is shown only for the validity on the order creation date .
However subsequently the BOM had undergone changes ( new component has been added to the equipment BOM)
This new list is not available to enable us to select the component .
How can this be handled ?It would be better to have the structure list for the current day as validity !

SAP has replied to our issue as given below
When calling the structural list on the component screen the
start date of the order is taken into account. If you need the
structural list of another day (for example today) you will have to
reschedule the order.
On the header screen the display of the structural list is a general
functionality (shared with notification, functional location, etc.) and
the date of today is taken into account.
By opening the Structure (Folder Components ) the system checks the
earl.start time form your order and the valid from date of all
components in your BOM.In the structure display you can only find the
components where the valid from date have the same range as the
early .start time of your order.
This is SAP Standard Logic.
You can perhaps try user Exit IWO10029 which may be of some benefit in
your case.

Can sales bom contain sales bom?

Hi,
   Can any tell me in SAP standard can one sales bom's item is another sales bom's header? For example, material code " A" is the header of sales bom, it has 3 component materials: A1, A2,A3. If A3 is another sales bom's header, it has 2 components:B1, B2. Can this suppose support in SAP ?
   When i entry material code "A" in sales order, will it bring out A1,A2,A3, B1,B2 ?

MRP Plan - Alternate BOM vs Substitute Component

We have certain situations where ITEM B (length 5 in) can be used in place of ITEM A (length 3 in) in which just the amount cut off differs. To be recognized in MRP planning and work order creation, should an alternate BOM be used or a substitute component?
Is there a general rule of thumb that indicates when to use which feature?

1.While giving the PIR's in MD61,after entering the values click on the schdule line tab page and then in
the top menu click on settings--->prod.version,now against the PIR enter the prod.version whould be
considered.
So this will be considered during MRP run.
2.IF 2 prod.versions exists for the same lot size and validity dates then the system always picksup the
first prod.version during MRP run.
3.IF you want the system to consider the second prod.version,then lock the first prod.version before
taking MRP run.
4.If quota is maintained in MEQ1,then as per this you will get the output in MRP.
Points 2,3,4 is generally used if PIR's are assigned without any prod.version.

Error while executing SSIS package which contains Script component through SQL Server Agent Job

I have written one SSIS 2012 package which is fetching records from CSV and put it into staging DB and from staging DB , using SSIS script component task, I am inserting data into Dynamics CRM. So far it is working fine when

SQVI for BOM header and component -reg

Hi ,
Requirement is we need to download BOM header wise Components for the BOM headers across the plants
As it is of mass and for around 7000 BOM headers we need the details , i have created a SQVI query using MAST , STKO and STPO
but when i execute it in masss inputting the BOM headers results are not correct with errors like repetitions , not matching with CS03 etc...
is there any other effective way for this requirement ?
i need to input the BOM header material and where and all plants they have BOM i need to get the corresponding BOM components
pl suggest soon as it is relevant for year end

Tried with the combination of MAST--STKO-STAS----STPO , still having issues
SQVI results shows combination of soem BOM headers and components which are not yet all linked through BOM , wehn i cross check the result through CS03 , for the BOM header , plant there is no BOM still SQVI shows the records again with repititions
dont know which is missing as earlier i used to feel this SQVI is effective but i think if we use more number of tables we get issues ..
i can not ask for ABAP report development as this is one time activity required for year end things
if some one can share any doc on this please share, as i tried and tired with all combinations
can not use the function module as i need to input materials in mass

Avoiding angering customers when changing BOM containing deposit item

Hello,
Visible in transaction CS03 is an item for which we charge a deposit of 6.90. We need to change to another item for which deposit will only be 6.10.
The problem is that some clients have been charged the 6.90 deposit and, if I change the BOM now, via CS02 and put in the 6.10 item, our system is going to refund them only 6.10 when they return the empty.
So we were thinking of doing a credit memo to the customer for the number of empties they have on hand. But what if they never return them?
So perhaps that is some other idea of how to solve the problem.
I don't suppose I can attach 80 cents extra refund to a specific client account.
If we do go the credit memo route, I suppose there is no way to enter an item number and do a search of all that are out on loan to customers ? Or to do some kind of comparison of number of those items charged to customers and not refunded ?
Perhaps this is part of a bigger problem that we should be handling in a different way. We are in the beverage industry, so we handle a lot of deposits for different size kegs, bottles, cases, etc. And these problems crop up whenever a vendor changes his deposit amout on the item and then we try to pass the change on to our clients without cheating them or us.

After you change to 6.10 mark the new issues with special batch no. or any kind of mark so that old returns and new returns will not mix up. For the 6.90 charged customers... correspond them by mail about the change and appropriately the refund will be done once they return 6.90 applicable empties..
