Boycott Verizon - Stop NSA Spying

Well, as most of you have seen in the news the NSA has been conducting covert surveillance on American citizens with the help of just about every major telecom company in existence in the US today. They have all been slapped with one form of National Security letter or another demanding them to give up varying levels of user data. So what makes Verizon different? What makes them worthy of a boycott over others you might ask? The fact that they have done nothing to challenge it, coupled with the fact that they are providing more access than just about everyone else according to more documents leaked recently.
VZ is giving the NSA and who knows how many others direct access into their servers to collect the metadata of EVERY USER ON THE NETWORK on a DAILY BASIS! No individual warrants required. No Oversite in place. They have allowed so much access that they dont even know what the NSA is taking on a daily basis, nor do they have to be notified by anyone that the info was accessed.
Now before everyone starts replying to this about how VZ is not the bad guy and they have to comply with every court order they are given, some of which contain gag orders making it illegal to even talk about it, let me remind all of you that just about every other major tech company issues an annual transparency report outlining how much info was released, and to whom. Companies like Microsoft, T-Mobile, Google, Twitter, and others. Many tech companies like Twitter, Foursquare, AT&T, Intel, Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, T-Mobile, IBM, HP and countless others have joined the Digital Due Process Coalition to stand up for users privacy rights in congress. Verizon has not. Many of the same companies release an annual statement of Law enforcement guidelines that its company will use when dealing in these matters. Verizon does not. Just about every other company in the cell business has a record of challenging, in a court of law, at least some of the National Security directives they have been handed, Verizon does not. Some will even notify the user that their info has been released unless directly hit with a gag order. Verizon does not. There is a very direct way to challenge any FISA 702 directive (National Security Directive) received by the telecom companies. There are also very strict rules governing its use which are outlined here: http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/50/1881a None of which include randomly snooping on American citizens.
According the the 2013 Annual report of companies that standup for users rights and privacy, issued by EFF.org, Verizon ranks among the lowest 3 years running. And the final nail in Verizon's coffin for me is the fact that the Government has to "reasonably compensate" the companies for the time their employees spent complying to these orders. So essentially VZ is charging money for handing over your info.
My $750 early term fee is a small price to pay to get rid of a company that doesn't care about your rights or privacy one bit. Personally I love my VZ phone. The service is great, the 4G is fast, but I cant get past the fact that they don't value my privacy at all. I'm willing to deal with some dropped calls to stand up for my rights as a citizen of the United Sates of America, and you should too.
Sincerely,
Soon to be Ex-Verizon customer of 3 years

I to am leaving Verizon, not just because of the NSA debacle.
A few months ago, I stayed with same bank but switched states. I, did not realize my auto pay was no longer valid. I get a call from Verizon saying I was behind a month. No big deal. They wanted me to pay $150 / month for six months to pay off a $100 dollar bill I forgot to pay. I told them that was stupid and outrageous. I paid sixty bucks last month extra, and just paid it off today. No big deal, because it was originally my fault for not checking my banking auto-pay.
Verizon called me over twenty times in less than six days. All on tape. I just paid through my bank today the amount due and once again Verizon called me, again.
I am tired of the almost sixty phone calls in a month and the arrogance, stupidity, and condescending attitude of the CSR's. I gave them my notice that when the new cycle starts, I am gone.
Back to NSA: What could the Government do to Verizon or any company that big, if they said no. If they fought it in court? If they said, OK but we are going to announce it? Do you think the Government would shut down Verizon?
So, this is my way to say to hell with Verizon. It will cost me $275 bucks, which I plan on paying off $50 / month. To heck with Verizon.
So goodbye Verizon, thanks for the nightmares and consent harassment over $100 bucks. Thanks for trying to get me to agree to pay $900 bucks to pay off a $100 dollar bill.
Thanks for allowing the Government to violate our Constitution, our civil liberties, and our trust.
Never again will I ever have anything to do with Verizon.

Will Verizon stop encrypting iPhone sim cards so users can surf and talk simultaneously?

I can prove that this is not the case. I travel abroad monthly and have sim cards for these 2 countries i frequent and i can surf and talk at the same time. The claim that it needs another antenna does not support my findings. Can we be more transparent please. As a costumer i find it highly inconvenient to have to hang up a call with someone just to access an email.

  • 8830 Verizon stopped receiving emails

My Verizon 8830 stopped receiving emails about 5 days ago. I can send emails and access the internet. I was 20 days into a 30 day trial of Antair Spam Blocker. It seemd to be working well in its limited form. So, yesterday after not receiving any mail for 5 days, I removed Aintair from the unit. & still no new emails arrived. This moring I resnt the service books to my phone which indicated that my Blackberry has been activated to receive emails. I sent two test emails that got to my desktop computer but didn't get to my Blackberry and not a single email since 10:30 AM this morning. It must be a software issue right? Anyone please help.

what kind off email address you have set up on BIS and how do you check mail on your computer?

  • Why can't Verizon stop charging me for Navigator when it has not been used?

I have been going to your store in Bend, OR every month due to your failure to correct a charge for over a year. It is $9.99 for VZNavigator on xxx-xxx-xxxx. I would like written proof of these charges & usage because when I take action, I would like to show the total overcharge. I have the Share Everything Plan & have been with Verizon when it was AirTouch and now I am wondering how many other charges have been slipped into my bill. I would like a rapid response as I have been waiting patiently for many months without resolve.

  • Why has Verizon stopped selling the Kin Twom?

    Several possibilities:
Is it because they don't want people to be able to access the Web without using data? They would prefer pushing people to smartphones?
Is it because the manufacture has stopped making it? Are there REALLY no new ones available?
Is it because it isn't selling well?
My son liked mine so much that he wanted one. He had to resort to buying one through a Craigslist ad.

Thanks to the community members for your input. Indestructo, were you needing assistance with the messaging issue? Were you able to send your messages? It is a good practice to refresh your phone by power cycling it off and on once every few days. This only takes a few moments and will refresh your signal connections. The longer the device is kept on without power cycling, it can affect how the device operates. Here's a link for assistance in troubleshooting issues for text messaging.  If your needing online assistance with your Kin Twom, here is a link. • I live in WA. Since I joined in on a TPP conf call last week, the IP is coming out of NJ & my FB account is behaving odd, works fine @ work, is NSA spying on me

Always worked fine, clicked the link from the FB TPP page, got in (was thru google free conf), was able to see the power point for a couple of minute the got booted out, could not get back in. Ever since, my FB page (only rest of internet browsing looks fine) looks as if it were running in safe mode & IP is out of NJ. My computer began to act odd and required to be reset to earlier point.

  • Verizon - please stop blocking Google Wallet

VZ - I want to use Google Wallet tap and pay on my new Samsung Galaxy Note 3.  When will Verizon stop blocking this feature?  I do not want to use ISIS and as a consumer I should have that choice.

Um well I've got a brand new Moto X ( unrooted, regular edition, straight from VZW ) and I just installed the latest version of the Wallet app ( from a Nexus 5 that I found online ) and boom Google Wallet in all it's glory. This is due to the security system that kitkat uses and makes Wallet available to everyone. So I guess get a device on 4.4 and get Wallet

  • Problem with 'Authorized Reseller' how do I complain to Verizon?

I have had a horrible experience with my local "Verizon Authorized Reseller".  We have been with Verizon for a CRAZY amount of time - well over a decade at least, and have generally used the corporate stores wherever possible.  Affiliate retailers however have so branded themselves as "Verizon" it is almost impossible to tell they are not!
So here is my horror story.  We were grandfathered in to the old "Unlimited Data" plan from years gone by - and when Verizon stopped offering that plan a couple of years ago we wanted to be *absolutely certain* that we protected that unlimited data plan with our current contract.  Issue #1 - Last December, my wife and I upgraded from the Casio Commando to the latest Galaxy S3 (mainly for the better camera since we had a baby on the way).  We noticed a Verizon store around the corner so went there for the phones.
The first clue should have been that the upgrade credits we had didn't apply, so it would be cheaper for us to purchase new Galaxy S3 phones and add them to our plan (a 3rd and 4th line) and then transfer the numbers over to the new devices.  The OLD data device numbers should be transferred to old dumb flip phones that we had to avoid "unnecessary data plan charges".  Ok, kinda convoluted and some mental gymnastics but I *think* I understand.  I was *VERY* clear however - "Do not screw up my Unlimited data plan"  I was told flat out that it was "NOT AT ALL POSSIBLE IN ANY WAY" to upgrade my devices and maintain my existing unlimited data plan.  I was more than a little upset - frustrated - but it was clear from the associate that the new Verizon policy was to eliminate any existing Unlimited Data plans so they were simply being phased out as devices were replaced.  I *seriously* considered moving my business to Sprint at this point because of their unlimited data plan - the associate told me though that Sprint was doing the same thing, it just wasn't advertised.
Ok, so we went ahead with the phones - got the "best possible" plan for our usage and sucked the bitter pill of losing my unlimited data.  Fast forward 5 months, My eldest daughter turned 11 and for her birthday we activated one of our 'old' Casio Commando phones for her use.  Back to the same affiliate provider (Bullfrog Wireless in Phoenix BTW - NEVER EVER do business with them) - This should be simple right - take one of those EXTRA lines that we had to pay for to buy our Galaxy S3 - and assign it to one of our OLD devices - pay the extra Data package for that phone and it's on our "Share Everything" plan....ok until I got the first bill...
That ISN'T what they did - and I had an EXTRA $100 in TEXTING charges!!!  He never added that phone to the texting plan or somehow else screwed it up.  I had to call Verizon support (*611) to sort it out.  Now Verizon was very gracious, and retroactively fixed the contract, (taking the additional money that WOULD have been paid if we were on the proper plan) and refunded some of the overage.  Then informed me that we were on "The most expensive plan for our actual usage"...  So then I got pretty fed up with Bullfrog Wireless in Phoenix (never use them BTW) and vowed to find my closest "CORPORATE" store which is in Chandler, a scant 6 miles from my house.
Enter the latest ****-off (I'm sure you can see it coming)  With the announced release of the new Casio Commando 4G LTE (C881) I wanted to look at it and see what my upgrade options were, so I went to the Corp store in Chandler and spoke with a very nice man - who explained the process and alluded: "...if you have Unlimited Data for example we want to preserve that"  -- ***??!?!?  I thought 'Unlimited Data' was phased out and "there was no possible way" to keep it!!
He must have seen my face and said something like "Ohh...you had unlimited data and dealt with an affiliated provider huh?"  I nodded ... "...and they switched you over to a share everything plan huh?"   ...again a dumbfounded nod.
Moral of the story - NEVER EVER Deal with an "Authorized Reseller" for Verizon - ESPECIALLY BULLFROG WIRELESS IN PHOENIX/TEMPE/MESA...
I don't know for a fact, but I believe it is because they are incented on "New Activations" and device sales.  If you have something simple to accomplish, they will find the most expensive way to do it because that is where they get their money.
Right NOW - I'm pretty ticked about it - I lost my unlimited Data Plan FOREVER - (It was the main thing keeping me with Verizon).  I want to know the process to complain to Verizon Corporate about this specific Authorized Reseller so they can review their agreement with that vendor.  They FLAT OUT LIED to me about my plan options and it seems obvious that this behavior is almost expected by Verizon from their authorized resellers.  It would be *REALLY* nice if Verizon reinstated my Unlimited Data Plan again out of an abundance of customer service - but I won't hold my breath.....
What's the number to Sprint again....1-866-866-7509

You know I never use a reseller just the corporate stores. However if you upgraded at verizon stores and took any sort of subsidy for those new devices, you lose the unlimited. If you paid full price for the new devices you would have needed a data plan is as much you did not know this or maybe not read that verizon was doing away with unlimited if you did not pay full price. it was all over the net and the news.
You say you had unlimited, however unless it was totally explained to you about the ways to lose it I would say that reseller was either devious, or simply uninformed. What ever reason you believe is totally up to you.
You could write a stinging letter via US Postal Service with return receipt requested to verizon corporate the address should be at their web site http://www.verizonwireless.com under "Contact Us"
    Good Luck

  • The verizon company is the worst ever!!!!!!

I am totally at my wits end with this whole verizon sham.  I was previously with another cell company that I never, ever had any problems with.  However, due to family circumstances I needed to add a phone on my account for one of my children and, low and behold, verizon was the only one that approved me for a family plan without an outrageous per-phone deposit.  So, happy for that, I signed my daughter and I with a verizon family shared everything plan. I got two new phones for basically free,  I got the basic service on each phone, and then the shared data plan, and insurance, and we were on our way -- or so I thought!
Well, from the very first month -- actually about two-and-a-half weeks -- there has been nothing but problems and expensive problems with the so-called business.  To start - one adult and one child sharing a family plan -- Verizon sends two bills looking to me to dupicates -- I pay one of them and discard the other -- so service gets interrupted.  I call customer service -- oops, looks like somebody (on their end) set up the account wrong and has my phones being billed separately. Next - somehow I am being charged $5.99 (per month) for some "extra" verizon navigation service that I did not ask for, did not need, and certainly did not want for an extra fee. I call to check on this and have this fixed -- another verizon oops.  After just the first month, verizon had $114 in account adjustments they had to make because of their stupid (or greedy) so-called mistakes.
However, with just our second month coming up there is already problems -- somehow two weeks into the cycle, the data plan I chose of 4GB of this supposed 4G LTE was already being exceeded -- I call up yet again to see what the hell is up and once again review all the billing problems -- oh, somehow our data plan was only set a 2GB and we were over by way less than a GB (hence my 4GB choice would have been plenty). So for a nominal fee of $10 they will bump my data plan to 4GB instead of charging me the $15 per GB overage fee.  Oh, joy! It was their mistake in the first place. So the bill comes due -- I pay it, all is good. NOT!  One week later this money sucking company call verizon somehow and for some reason decides to reverse and reject my payment -- blammo, phones shut off again -- I call up to ask what's up -- oops, my payment was some $50 short -- I pay that -- they turn the phones back on -- we review everything again, and customer service and I agree all things are good -- and bam, the very next day phones are off again.
My point with this is that every time they interrupt service, their fault or mine, there is an additional $15 per phone charge -- I had this charge three times in only our second month of "service" -- that is an additional $90 in fees right there.  When I signed up, I was told that my monthly bill would be in the area of $190 TOTAL (for both phones), excluding the first month, of course, because we all have learned that the first month includes all kinds of bogus charges, fees, and tips!  So, then, why have my bills been no less that $340 every **** month.  I had spent more time on my lovely new phone with verizon customer service reps than any other person at all.  Every month for three months there was discussions about the plan, the usage, the fees -- blah, blah, blah --
Well, what other fitting thing could then happen but low and behold some low-life scum steals my phone and immediately runs my data plan over 8GB somehow (i can't even fathom how). So I call verizon to tell them and file a claim on the insurance that I was paying for (the total replacement premium)  only to find out that -- oops, I didn't  have insurance on the phone since the first month's adjustments. So I interrupted my service (and haven't been able to get into "myVerizon" online since that day. I told my daughter she wouldn't be having her phone anymore -- when they shut it off, I am done. I have not had a phone since that point since I definitely cannot afford the $599 cost of another phone.  I am on a fixed income and have been concerned about an out-of-control bill since day one. So, verizon this is my words to you:
SINCE I NO LONGER HAVE A PHONE TO TELL YOU AGAIN FORGET IT, CANCEL IT, I DO NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOUR CROOKED, RIP-OFF COMPANY, AND I CANNOT GET ON LINE TO TELL YOU IT THROUGH "MYVERIZON" (that title being a total joke to begin with!), IT APPEARS THAT PERHAPS THIS IS THE ONLY FORUM I MIGHT REACH SOMEBODY BY ---------- CANCEL MY ACCOUNT. QUIT CONTINUING TO BILL ME FOR THE SERVICE ON A PHONE THAT I NO LONGER HAVE AND THE OTHER SHUT OFF BY YOU. QUIT E-MAILING ME THAT MY BILL IS READY FOR VIEWING AND PAYING ON-LINE AT "MYVERIZON blah, blah, ********" BECAUSE YOU WON'T LET ME ON TO LOOK AT MY ACCOUNT BECAUSE I NO LONGER HAVE AN "active" VERIZON PHONE NUMBER (praise the Lord for that!). AND FURTHERMORE, TAKE YOUR $1,463 OR SOME RIDICULOUS CURRENT BILL AND SHOVE IT STRAIGHT UP THE TAILPIPE OF EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN CHARGE OF RUNNING YOUR LOUSY, GOOD-FOR-NOTHING, RIP OFF, SO-CALLED BUSINESS.
You should all be sued out the *** for the way you are robbing people.  It is straight criminal and if the average Joe Q. Citizen pulled the same **** they would be jailed and have their freedom stripped from them.  However, because you hide under some *********** fine print and claim to be a business, you steal, lie, cheat, and swindle from people every single hour of every single day and you rob people of their freedoms (from money, services, peace of mind, choices, etc.) and somehow get away with it without losing anything -- but customers, and you don't deserve them anyway.  So you feel free to just keep on charging me for whatever you are going to charge me for.  I will not give verizon another dime my money from my fixed income. I will not.  You have lied, cheated, defrauded and just plain been a horrible business and I will tell anyone and everyone I come in contact that to stay away from verizon -- don't go to them and if you are with them, get out -- they will take everything from you and somehow make it your fault!
BOYCOTT VERIZON -- START A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THEM.  LET'S STAND UP FOR THE CITIZENS AND BLOW THIS BOGUS MONEY-HUNGRY POOR EXCUSE OF A COMPANY OUT OF THE SKY AND FORCE THEM OUT OF BUSINESS -- or start doing business in a neighborly fashion.

Just from this paragraph, it puts your whole story in question. You make it sound as if Verizon is charging you something EXTRA to fix one of their mistakes. The 4GB plan IS $10 more expensive than the 2GB plan. The $10 "nominal fee" is just the price difference between the 2 plans. This is not just some charge to fix a Verizon mistake. If you want the larger plan, you must pay the larger fee.
You are either not explaining your situation correctly, you are leaving out some "other" information which would fully explain the situation OR you are purposely trying to make Verizon look bad for something they are not actually doing. You say Verizon "decides to reverse and reject" your payment, but then go on to say you shorted your payment. You then go on to say you then paid the part your shorted. So did you just pay the part you shorted, or did you then pay the ENTIRE amount? If you then only paid the part you shorted, I guess Verizon DID NOT "decide to reverse and reject" your payment. They accepted your previous payment and shut off your phones because you did not make the full payment. This is YOUR mistake, NOT VERIZON'S mistake. Even if you did pay the full amount again at that point including the part you had originally shorted from the 1st payment, it is still YOUR mistake.
I find it hard to believe you did not have these kinds of problems with your other provider since they were forcing a CURRENT customer to pay an "outrageous per-phone deposit" in order to add 1 line to your account. It appears as if Verizon should have done the same.
Of course, you do have the option of paying or not paying your current bill. However, it is YOUR responsibility to do so and it will only get larger if you do not contact Verizon CS by calling them(or going into a Verizon store) and cancelling your service EVEN if you do not have an active phone on one of your lines and your service is cut off for failure to pay. When you cancel your service, you will ALSO have 2 ETF's added to your already large bill.
Good luck with your situation, it appears as if you will need it.

  • I hate to say - DISATISFIED WITH with CUSTOMER CARE RESPONSE and VERIZON in all for first time.

I am currently on National 900 plan on Motorola Droid. I switched from AT&T primarily because I love to use data on mobile. Verizon provided me the unlimited plan. I was a very happy customer with Verizon untill now.
    Scenario -
Today, I called up Verizon customer care executive to see why bill for the month was not readjusted. Can anyone believe it its staggering $1137.73 [Roaming charges 1019.19].
Since this January, I am visiting to Canada. On first visit in January, I called up customer care to see what options I do have to use my phone in Canada as I use it in US. Verizon had a wonderful plan - just the monthly data plan is escalated appear. 30-40$ extra than the normal appear. 29.99$ plan. I happily added that plan before visiting Canada. While there is Canada, I did get notification couple of time that I am exceeding data limit but again checked with customer care later - they readjusted the bill as that was 'FALSE ALERT' as I was on unlimited data plan while roaming as well in Canada since I paid the additional prorated of (30-40$) for period of my stay there.
This equation worked for first and second visit - Unlimited Data while I used to get FALSE ALERT.
On my  third visit , things changed - Verizon stopped providing the unlimited data services. I called up as usual before this visit. Customer care executive said - you are set to go to Canada now. I was not very specifically told on call that the rules have changed now and there is limit to data usage while roaming. During this visit also, I got the alerts - I assumed this was also a FALSE ALERT like prior one.
But this time, it was not FALSE ALERT, now I charged with this fee. I raised my concern and called up customer care appear. 10 day before [today is March 6th], they assured me that it is going to be re-adjusted ONLY for this time. And, they also asked to check account after 48 hours and if not readjusted please call. But, I checked my account today and it was not readjusted. So, I called up customer care executive for half an hour -- not willing to listen to any logic of mine and he said politely 'SIR, WE CANNOT READJUST YOUR BILL' . I am still trying to figure out where is my fault when I was not told DATA PLAN HAS CHANGED FROM THIS VISIT.
I hope senior management will look into this matter and re-adjust current bill. It's due this March 10th. I would appreciate any positive response prior to this so that I can pay the bill and BE A HAPPY VERIZON CUSTOMER.
    Sincerely,
    Manoj K. [removed personal information]

I called them back yesterday night, not willing to listen my story. Sir we sent you SMS notifications. But these notifications, I also got when I had unlimited plans on first and second visit. Then customer care told SIR you don't need to worry - but this time I should have been very specifically told rules are changed before changing my plans which I wasn't. I was under impression that I am on same unlimited plans.
A job not well done in COMMUNICATING TO CUSTOMERS and using that an opportunity to OVERCHARGE $1100 - INSANE for one month bill. None of my fault. SMS notification is no communication as earlier SMS noitification were false positive and bills were adjusted as I was on unlimited data plan.
Now you change the rules and send SMS Notification; RULE CHANGE, one is not aware of.. ANY NORMAL person will treat SMS notification as FALSE ALERT.. isn't it??

Well it could be wherever you are, but it is working just fine for me (if you would add your location to your profile then we would have some idea where you are ).
Some of us are pushing Verizon as hard as we can to get them to re-establish the System Status web pages and keep them updated so we can have some idea what, when, and where problems are. I encourage you to to go to the Verizon Idea Exchange area of the Forums and add your vote to the System Status Web Page Updates Needed topic.

  • Trying to shop for Verizon Home Control...can't find the link

I was looking to add another camera and the remote control that shows up on the screen when I first set up my recording mode for my current camera.  The thing is, I can't seem to find the link.  I looked under SHOP, which is at the top of the page and there is no link to the equipment.  I tried a Google Search and again...there is nothing.  Did Verizon stop selling the equipment?  If so, how do I get a hold of another camera and that remote control?  Thanks.

Do you currently have a working VHM&C system? If so then you can get remote from z-wave dot com, look under their "Remotes" section. The one Verizon sold is the Aeon Labs Minimote remote. Cameras will be harder to find. I don't know if non-Verizon cameras will work on the Verizon controler. Most Z-Wave products will work on any Z-Wave system. But Verizon LOCKED their cameras so they can't be used on other systems because Verizon won't release the username & password for the cameras.
If you only have the basic VHM&C system (starter kit), GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN. The controler box and cameras can not be used on other systems but the rest can. Don't buy any more Verizon camers!
If, like me, you have a lot invested in the Verizon cameras (I have 11), and you need more, look on eBay and Craig's List. That is where I got most of mine.
There is one on Philadelphia Craig's List right now with 5 cameras and a bunch of other stuff for $300.

  • How Verizon is Saving More than 30,000 Trees

Since forming the sustainability team here at Verizon, we’ve focused on helping the environment in many different ways. Today we’re celebrating perhaps our proudest accomplishment – the Verizon Green Team is turning 5,000. By that, we of course mean it now has 5,000 members. These members, all Verizon employees, are located in 20 countries and in 48 U.S. states – and it took less than two years to reach that number.

Mr. Gowen,I am a Verizon Wireless customer but due to past customer service issues will never be a land line or Fios customer.2-3 times a month I receive paper mail from Fios addressed to Verizon Neighbor. I have requested it be stopped and have been told it is not possible. I have initiated a prohibitory order using Form 1500 with the USPS and Verizon continues to send mail in violation of this order. In short, you are wasting paper, energy, other resources and my time by sending me mail and I seem to have no power to stop you. If a consumer goes through the trouble of requesting that Verizon stop sending unsolicited mail, isn't it in everyone's best interest that the mail be stopped? I don't expect you to make it easy for a consumer to stop the mail but I do expect you to make it possible. It can't be sustainable if you don't. I look forward to hearing your suggestions on how this problem can be solved. Thank you.

  • Verizon to put some limits on unlimited data (Windows Phones)

I started my plan in July 2012.  It was 450 minutes with unlimited data.  In June 2013, the company I was working for asked if I would agree to put my phone on their business account so they wouldn't have to continue paying my bill separately.  Before agreeing to do so, I spoke with a Verizon rep and asked what would happen if I left the company.  They said I would revert back to my original contract, including the data plan.  I was sure to ask specifically about data, knowing how they're trying to get everybody off of unlimited.
Fast forward to last Friday.  I left my job, so I called Verizon to transfer control back to me.  When I checked my account online, I found that everything was as it originally was, except for, you guess it, my data.  They had dropped me down to a 2GB plan.  I've spoken to three different reps, a supervisor, and did on online chat, and still can't get anybody to make things right.  I did get one rep who said he'd put in a request to the "offline team" and that I should get a response within 48 hours.  It's been three days and nothing yet.  I even agreed to accept the 6GB plan I know they were giving out to unlimited plan holders, and the rep said he'd include that in the request.
It's absolute ** that they honored the original terms of my contract as far as minutes, texts, and expiration, but then cherry picked my data and stole it away after ensuring me they wouldn't.
    A) Verizon stopped offering unlimited data in July 2011 so it would have been impossible for you to have started plan in July 2012 with unlimited data.
    B) Once you transfers control to the company you worked for the account stopped being yours. Thus when you went back to controlling your account you are a new customer. You're lucky they didn't make you switch the More Everything.
Unlimited data is going away soon enough anyway. Data is not part of the contract anyway.

  • Where are the NEEDED options?

seems mozilla has been taken over by same forces that took over Microcrap by hiding or disabling options in firefox, in turn incrementally forcing users to dumb down to smart phone and tablet idiots. maybe firefox is now a subsidiary of Microcrap?
    1. who's the IDIOT who disabled moving tabs below menus? by doing so pissed off Millions of users! ad-on to restore classic desktop has been downloaded million plus of times and Mozilla still doesn't get the hint?
    2. why do users have to put up with IE [internet explorer] type interface? WE NEED OPTIONS AND INFO TO BE SEEN .. NOT HIDDEN! you want to create a firefox for dummies then do so, but don't insult our intelligence by hiding menus, tools, options, configurations and other parts needed!
    3. why is there no difference in color and shade for tabs, not even an outline for each?
    4. who's the idiot who keeps incorporating java script and java into browser, in turn creating privacy and security holes? maybe he/she doesn't know that originally java is a bunch of viruses in boxes / containers, not very secure ones at that as they all leak sooner or later?
    5. with recent spy agencies spying on ppl why hasn't mozilla encrypted it's browser and settings? if it's not TRIPLE encrypted it's open to spying directly and indirectly!

<i>the real prob is that FF has been taken over as soon as it became part of stock market .. this gives gov., spy agencies and big biz part to major control over FF via statutory / British maritime law</i>
I don't know where you heard that but that's ridiculous.
    *Mozilla is a non-profit
*Mozilla isn't on the stock market (no IPO)
*Mozilla is against the NSA spying
*Mozilla is committed to user security and privacy.
<i> / we don't piss around and someone [mods or admin] should get off their asses and forward this to Mozilla CEO .. or else ...</i>
Threatening us won't help at all. We're all volunteers and have no affiliation with Mozilla Corporation/Foundation, therefore the comments you provide here won't go anywhere. You should provide feedback to Firefox devs at input.mozilla.org/feedback.
<i>seems dev team & coders don't read these or don't care. anyone have email addies, phone #s, etc. of management to put some fire under their feet?</i>
    # Developers don't visit this forum
    # If you find some contact info, I will be impressed.
If you are still having issues with Firefox 29, you should try the suggestions given by me in the thread that <b>ikeepbees</b> linked to to restore the functionality of Firefox 28 on Firefox 29. If you don't like the way that works out, I would rather you switch to an alternative browser rather than stay on v28 that will soon become outdated and insecure.
    <b>ikeepbees</b>
<i>I cant help people find more suitable solutions to the ones being proposed by the mods that dont work. Only real option is to stop using FF and use alternatives that may or may not be based on the FF core engine</i>
Not to sound mean here, but I don't think there's any other options other than what everyone else (including me) has provided
*Stay on v29 and customize it using Classic Theme Restorer and other add-ons
*Go back to v28 or lower (this will open you up to security holes if you stay on a version after it's outdated and insecure.
*Switch to an alternative browser like Pale Moon.
I use Pale Moon as my secondary (am actually using it now) and it's really nice. Slick and clean!
<i>Maybe we need to start up a proper petition to help the developers understand whats realy happening here as they dont seem to give a hoot at this point. Problem is who or how to deliver all the signatures if its successfull</i>
Developers don't roam this forum as it's been said many times. IMO (as a user, not a Moderator) I think a petition could be a good idea. I read something about someone sending a petition to HP for some reason. I don't exactly remember the company/reason but I saw it.
