BPC 7.0 BPC Administration Installation - Authorisation Issue

I have installed BPC 7.0 on our Windows 2003 server, I have installed the BPC Administration and BPC Client on a Windows XP machine all are working well.
My problem is when I try the same on Windows Vista Business, I have Domain Administrator rights and Local User Admin rights in Vista, however when I press the BPC Administration Installation button and try to install BPC Admin I get the following message 'You do not have authority to install the BPC for Office'.
I have followed the exact same procedure as I used for Windows XP and now feel I am banging my head against a wall. Does anyone have any ideas on this issue?

I have found the problem Vista Business does not have .net 1.1 (see http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en ) and Service PAck 1 (see http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/thankyou.aspx?familyId=a8f5654f-088e-40b2-bbdb-a83353618b38&displayLang=en)
Once installed the installer works fine.

In Page number 23 in SBOP_PC_75_NW_SP03_Install.pdf under step 10
It says.
Define the .NET service user that is needed to log on to ApShell and run Server Manager by doing the following:
Stop the IIS and SAP Planning and Consolidation instances using the stoposoft.bat file. For more information, see Tips [page 41].

When we execute se38 and run program UJA3_WRITE_SYS_USERS it asks to add system admin user we are giving BPC SysAdminUser as BPC_Admin which is created in step 2 as ABAP Service User,we have also created similar service user on our AD domain is this correct way or we are doing some thing wrong?
Do other users BPC Adminuser and BPC Users has to be created as Service users in AD Domain?
Could some one confirm regarding below step,I.e Is this a seperate step or we have to enter user details for program UJA3_WRITE_SYS_USERS step in the below specified format?
Assign a single domain user to each user type:
Planning and Consolidation System Administrator User     Enter <Domain>\<user name> in AD mode, or <CMS enterprise name> in CMS mode

BPC 7.5 & Windows 7 Installation

New Forum User here with a question.
We upgraded our enviroment from 7.0 to 7.5 this past weekend, And a few of our users have new computers with Windows 7. What is the installation process for BPC so that the Windows 7 has the correct software to work with BPC 7.5? As of now we get errors when trying to install the client software and when we attempt to run the software diagnostic we get errors that don't allow for that to run properly. The end user has Admin rights on his machine and we have installed the latest Netframe 1.1 software.
Can anyone give me a clue as to next steps?

For BPC 7.5,
you 've to meet the minimum software requirements.
.Net Framework should be v2.0 SP1.
BPC 7.5 runs on this version of .Net Framework only.
.Net Framework v1.1 will be supported by BPC 7 only.
Also, if the client machine has Windows 7 OS, ensure that Internet Explorer is not of version 9.
IE9 is not supported by both BPC 7 and BPC 7.5.
BPC 7.5 supports only IE7 and IE8.
It is better to ensure that you meet all the minimum requirements from the installation guide.

Best Practice for Updating Administrative Installation Point for Reader 9.4.1 Security Update?

I deployed adobe reader 9.4 using an administrative installation point with group policy when it was released. This deployment included a transform file. It's now time to update reader with the 9.4.1 security msp.
My question is, can I simply patch the existing AIP in place with the 9.4.1 security update and redeploy it, or do I need to create a brand new AIP and GPO?
Any help in answering this would be appreciated.

I wouldn't update your AIP in place. I end up keeping multiple AIPs on hand. Each time a security update comes out I make a copy and apply the updates to that. One reason is this: when creating the AIPs, you need to apply the MSPs in the correct order; you cannot simply apply a new MSP to the previous AIP.
Adobe's support patch order is documented here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/498/cpsid_49880.html.
That link covers Adode Acrobat and Reader, versions 7.x through 9.x. A quarterly update MSP can only be applied to the previous quarterly. Should Adobe Reader 9.4.2 come out tomorrow as a quarterly update, you will not be able to apply it to the 9.4.1 AIP; you must apply it to the previous quarterly AIP - 9.4.0. At a minimum I keep the previous 2 or 3 quarterly AIPs around, as well as the MSPs to update them. The only time I delete my old AIPs is when I am 1000% certain they are not longer needed.
Also, when Adobe's developers author the MSPs they don't include the correct metadata entries for in place upgrades of AIPs - any AIP based on the original 9.4.0 MSI will not in-place upgrade any installtion that is based on the 9.4.0 MSI and AIP - you must uninstall Adobe Reader, then re-install. This deficiency affects all versions of Adobe Reader 7.x through 9.x. Oddly, Adobe Acrobat AIPs will correctly in-place upgrade.
Ultimately, the in-place upgrade issue and the patch order requirements are why I say to make a copy, then update and deploy the copy.
As for creating the AIPs:

Script logic from BPC 5 in BPC 7.5

Hi,
I am trying to use some script logic from an appset in BPC 5 in BPC 7.5. When I validate the logic in 5 it works fine but in 7.5 I get validation errors.
They relate to properties of dimension elements that are not currently used (neither in 5 nor in 7.5) but could well be used in the future. As an example, this bit generates an error
*WHEN ACCOUNTL.RATETYPE
*IS END,ENDFLOW
I currently do not have an account defined with ratetype END but it is quite possible that there will be one in the future. And END is defined as an element in the RATE dimension.
So, why did BPC 5 accept this and BPC 7.5 does not? And, is there a way around other than defining a dummy element in ACCOUNTL that used ratetype END?

What I havenoticed is that with the new7.5 Script logic, there are more checks and balances performed during the validation. So, if you have only AVG, ENDRATE on RATETYPE property and no END for any member, yet your logic is calling a set of members with this parameter, the logic fails to validate. I assume the process is checking for a set of END members based on the request. Since they don't exist, the error occurs. But I would request that BPC Support verify the behavior as well.
If you remove END, does the logic validate?

XI System Authorisation Issue

Dear XI Experts ,
I am not able to test my scenarios in the Dev box.They are failing when I check them at the adapter engine.
The error which I am getting is as follows :
File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Received HTTP response code 401 : Unauthorized.
This looks to me as it has some authorisation issue. Can you people provide some details on this .

If your old version of iTunes is still working - then I sugest you stick with that.
iTunes 11 is a lousy update - It will not retain your playlists, you can't find and delete duplicates... and a whole arry of oyher issues. (have a look around this forum to see how many issues IT11 gives people)

Again, it is known that the version 8 Without the update 8.3, constantly has errors. I used to simply confirmed the update button. Today there is no longer this site. Ksb2 transaction ( Display commitment item for CC )authorisation issue

In my project some of the user are facing problem to display for the T code KSb2 ( Commitment Item report for cost center ).
Mesage : No authorisation to display valuation view 1 for controlling Area .
User has in her authorisation profile to display valuation view 0 ie legal valuation .
In KSB1 transaction one option comes in Extras -> Actual valuation where the user can select 0 or 1 .
But in Ksb2 this option is greyed out .
So system is reading valuation view 1 & I am not able to understand from which settings ?
Need help on this .Do we mention any where in the variant relating to Valuation View ?

Authorisation issue - the report is running and

Hello friends,
Need some help .
There is one salary report , which user is not able to see the data . It is running and running for 1/2 hours
and finally the message coming that action is cancelled.
I have checked the data flow and everything seems correct .
It seems the problem with user authorisation .
How could i check the User id authorisation for this specific salary report. ?
I am not aware about the more thing in authorisation.

Yes , i have excuted the report by using RSSMQ and with the user id . I found the below messge .
Full Authorisation is requiered for this selection option .
A displayed hierachy requires option .
Could you please let me know , how i can solve this issue now .?

Authorisation issue regarding BEX Broadcaster

Hi all
Does anyone know why I maybe getting an authorisation issue attempting to broadcast a pdf report via the Bex broadcast tool?
The recipient user has all the relevant authorisations and roles attached, and when this report is previewed in Bex Report Designer, the report runs fine showing all the data for the report, However when the report is scheduled via the Bex broadcaster, the broadcast fails. RSRD_LOG shows the following message
Java communication error: RFC destination NOT_CONFIGURED does not exist.
Message no. RSBOLAP017
And in T-code sm21, I get the following error
X MESSAGE BRAIN 299: SAPLRSEC_CHECKS
RSEC_GET_AUTH_HIER_FOR_USER:NOHIE
This indicates that there is an authorisation error with my user, however as mentioned earlier all the authorisation objects and roles seem correct as the report runs fine as I can preview in bex report designer with no authorisation problems at all.
I have also executed the report in T-code RSECADMIN this also shows no errors in the error log and the report runs fine here too.
Please can anyone advise?

I'm not sure if the error is related to the communication between the Java and the BW or if it's a problem with the authorization.
Are you using a customer exit or an authorization variable in your query/bookmark?
Check if by chance your query have an hirarchy assigned to a characteristic, then, check the user's authorization and check whether you have enough authorization for the hierarchy.
I'm unsure, but maybe note 916090 can help you.

Acrobat 8 administrative installation & patch: language?

Hello everyone. I'm trying to prepare an Administrative installation of Acrobat 8 with all patches.
I own a Acobat 8 CD spanish, italian, dutch version.
I create an administrative installation via the command
msiexec /a "C:\Acro8\Package\acrostan.msi" transforms="C:\Acro8\Package\mytransform.mst"
then apply all the patches via the command
msiexec /a "C:\Acro8\ServerImage\acrostan.msi" /p "C:\Acro8\Package\updatefilename.msp"
and use that admin install for one-run installation
The problem is that it use only spanish language, even I prepare from and italian-coded transform.mst
Does anyone knows hints or tricks or whatever for convincing it to use italian?

MM02 Authorisations Issue

Hi guys,
Hoping you can assist me with an authorisations issue I am facing.
End-users are using a Z bespoke material upload program. In order to run the program they need full authorisations to all views in MM02 as the upload program uses this transaction in a BDC Call. However they currently have restrictions on certain views in MM02.
I need to find a way that allows them to run the program but prevents them from getting full access to all the views in MM02.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Alex - yes you are right submitting it to a background job via a batch user wouldn't be suitable. As there are restrictions against the Users ID on which materials they copy to certain plants.
The views are there to prevent them from changing data. However they can view the data in display mode.
Do you know where I could get more detail on setting up approriate change control measures as you suggested?

How did you purchase? AA8 has not been available for almost 8 yrs or so. The only current version available from Adobe is 11 and you can not upgrade from 7 to 11, but have to buy the full product.
Updates also require the use of the S/N of the qualifying product (AA7 in your case) to be able to use the newer product. So at this point, it is unclear what you actually have.
