BPC NW 7.0 install

hi Experts
I'm trying to install BPC 7.0 NW in the same machine (x64), I had installed Abap server NW 7.0 EHP1 SP 5 , sql 2005 , and BPC server sp4 , but when I was installing bpc server the wizard didn't ask me for SQL parameters, and i have the error with database connections

Hi Graciela,
I think there is some confusion between BPC for SAP Netweaver and BPC for the Microsoft platform.
In the case of a Netweaver-based solution, Netweaver will interact with whichever supported batabse engine you chose (SQL, MaxDB, Oracle, etc...), and then BPC will interact with Netweaver, not with the database engine.
So there is no SQL-related information needed in BPC installation, unlike in BPC for Microsoft platform. Instead you will have to enter information realting to the Netweaver server.
Can you give more details on the errors you are seeing?

Can BPC 7.5 be installed on a Mac running Windows?

We have recently upgraded from OutlookSoft 4.2 to BPC 7.5. We had been running OutlookSoft 4.2 in a terminal server configuration that our users use remote desktop connection to access. With the upgrade, BPC is installed on each client machine. I have one user (our CFO) with a Mac who is running windows and has no problem running Office or any other windows based programs. However, he has not been able to install the BPC client. It appears that he has the administrator interface but the excel interface will not install. He is not set up as an administrator. Any ideas on how to make this installation?

Yes, he is running windows on a virtual machine on the Mac. We've tried installing several times and always end up with the same result; the launch page shows interface for the web and admin but does not give him excel. I've asked him to uninstall BPC and then run the installation again.
Is there anything else we should be checking?

BPC NW 7.5 Install Issue

I have installed all the prerequisites and installed the BPC 7.5 NW. When I run server diagnostics everything checks out green except SAP Connection. "SAP Connection Error". MDXSVR RFC connection is working from TCODE:SM59. Any inputs?

SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation 7.5 Installation Guide has error.
Please follow me step by step
1.using transaction RSTPRFC create MDX_PARSER, don't using MDX PARSER
2.Using transaction SM59, create RFC destination MDX PARSER, type T,program is mdxsvr.
3.test RFC destination MDX PARSER.

BPC 75 SP06 After install steps

Hi,
I applied SP06 to my system BPC 75 Microsoft version. The note that corresponds to SP06 1612314 shows
"In case of restore Application Set after BPC 7.5M has been upgraded to this version, you must recreate the partition if an application has a custom OLAP partition. See SAP Note 1395795."
After reading Note 1395795
"Symptom :
OLAP partition scheme is rolled back to default setting after restoring the application set even though the backed up application has custom OLAP partitions."
"Solution: If an application set has custom OLAP partition, the user has to re-create the custom OLAP partition after restoring the application set."
Does this apply everytime I try to restore an app? I mean, the process where server mgr console is used, clicking on Restore App and providing the 3 folders related to the application...
How do i do this Partition stuff?¡

Install Server Components Considerations during BPC Installation

Hello experts,
I have something confusing about chapter 3.3 Installing the Server Components. (The screen shot is provided below)
Questions:
Q1: The server components for BPC is CPMBPC, is it right?
Q2: How to activate the BW and Planning Consolidation?
Q3: Before active BW and Planning Consolidation, we should copy a client for both BW and BPC?

Hi Tong,
CPMBPC is not the only component you need. You need also POA... component. If your DB is HANA then you need additionally HANABPC component.
To activate BW you have to go to t/a RSA1. To activate BPC you have to install EVIRONMENTSHELL.
You don't have to copy anything; you just have to install both in same client.

How to install BPC help file

Can somebody point me in the right direction for installing the SAP help files for BPC. I have installed BPC, it's configured and working, but a user says there's supposed to be help file and I can't find anything about them in the installations and master guide.

As indicated above, help files do exist in MS version within the application. Perhaps you're inquiring the NW version which does not have the help file within the application. In that case, you need to go to help.sap.com and find the BPC help file for NW.
The right navigation would be
help.sap.com->SAP Business Objects->Business Planning and Consolidation->SAP BPC 7.0 version for SAP NetWeaver.
You will also find the help file for other versions here as well.

How to install BPC client interface in Vista

I want to install the BPC client interface in MS Windows Vista. Can someone please let me know the steps.
I am also having difficultly installing the .NET interface in Vista.

the installation is standard but first you have to install the prerequisite software.
Check diagnostic will provide you the information if the PC is ready or not.
When check diagnostic doesn't provide any error you will be able to install the BPC client.
To install .NET 1.1 you need to use the follow link;

BPC 7.5 SP06 open IS SP05 Error Dimension

Hi, i am working in Client using SP06 the BPC 7.5 NW Client, and working too in Client using 7.5 SP05.
I have the Client for NW 7.5 SP06 BPC and I can not open InputShedules the SP05 version, get CurrentView problem in Dimensions.
Any idea ?

Hi ,
You can access Input schedule of SP05 only when you have BPC 7.5 SP05 installed on your system and not SP06 version .
Using clients out of sync from the server is never recommended
The best approach would be to use something like VMware to create virtual clients to test and use both the versions .

BPC 7.5 Installation

Hi,
We are trying to install the BPC 7.5 and integrate it with the BO Enterprise.
BPC 7.5 is installed and it is working fine. No problems with that.
BO Enterprise is installed and we can log into the CMC. No problems with this as well.
When we are trying to integrate BPC with BO, it is asking to change the web server to IIS.
When we installed BO we used Tomcat as the web server.
But BPC requires IIS.
Our doubt here is can we select IIS as the Web Server after we installed BO with Tomcat as the Web Server.
But when we tried the above option we are unable to find the IIS option during the Setup process. We are doing this just to install IIS only.
Is our perception wrong or any help is greatly appreciated.

Here is a bit more detail.
I installed BPC and BO on the same server.
But I have some doubts.
1. BO has Tomcat as its Web Application Server.
BPC uses IIS.
2. You said that "Did you changed into BPC to use CMS integration?"
I know there needs to be some changes that needs to be done in BPC side to use the CMS. But I'm unable to find that. Can you please guide me in that aspect?
3. To the best of my knowledge, the BO installation was good and all the role imports are working fine.
But what I'm not sure is "is there any thing that needs to be done from the BO side as well like changing the WAS from tomcat to IIS?"
Please advise.

BPC 5.1 and BPC 7 NW

Hi:
Has anyone installed both BPC 5.1 and 7.0 NW on the same machine?
We need to demo 5.1 and 7 NW to different clients and are wondering if we can use same machine to install both versions.
I do not see any specific technical requirement conflicts in the installation document.
Has anyone tried this with success? Any issue to look out for?

Hi Subramania,
I assume you're talking about the client only, not the server. I had a BPC 7 NW client installed on my machine back in October (an early release) and it didn't allow an install without first uninstalling the BPC 5.1 MS client. Likewise, to go back to 5.1 MS I had to uninstall the 7.0 NW.
This may have been improved in the most recent builds of 7.0, but I would be very surprised if they can sit side-by-side.
I'd recommend using a virtual machine setup for one or the other, even if it's just a VM running XP with the BPC client software (i.e., not the BPC server).

Communication problems BW-BPC

We'va a communication problems in our BW-BPC system, it seems more a basis issue than a BPC configuration problem, but itu2019s the only component affected.
Version details:
SAP BPC 7.5 NW installed in:
   - SAP Netweaver 7.01
   - Windows Server 2003
Since last week we've been getting an error when trying to open xml dynamic templates from the BPC clients. Seems that the communication between BPC .net server and bpc abap server is failing, but we don't realize what could be causing this.
Everything worked before last Friday. We're running some archiving test in the system, and SNC configuration for a different project (BO) so we assume one of this two processes could have affected the communications, but still didn't found who and how.

BPC Best Practices: Sales Planning (BP2)

Im trying to follow these instructions:
1. Log on to Interface for Excel.
To do so start the SAP BPC Launch Page from your desktop icon or via the Start menu of your desktop, then in the Programs folder choose SAP -> Business Planning and Consolidation.
2. On the SAP BPC Launch Page, choose Interface for Excel. In the dialog box, select the AppSet SAP_BP_Planning and the Application Sales_Planning.
My problem is that in my BPC Launch Page (at step 2) I don't have these options:
AppSet: SAP_BP_Planning
Application: Sales_Planning
These are the options that I have:
AppSet: ApShell (in the combo box)
Application: (nothing in the combo box)
Can anyone figure it out why i dont have those options (SAP_BP_Planning, Sales_Planning) ?

The version I have is BPC 7.5 SP4 with SQL Server 2005
Im new at this, I installed this software in a Windows Server 2003 Virtual Machine and now im trying to learn how to use this software. I have downloaded the configuration guide and those steps are there. This is the only one step that i couldn't follow:
3 Prerequisites
Before you start installing this BPC scenario, you must install prerequisite scenarios. For more information, see the BPC prerequisite matrix (Prerequisites_Matrix_[xx]_EN_JP.xls; the placeholder [xx] depends on the SAP Best Practices version you use, for example, BPC refers to the SAP Best Practices SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation 7.5: Prerequisites_Matrix_BPC_EN_JP.xls). This document can be found on the SAP Best Practices documentation DVD in the folder \BPC_JP\Documentation\.
I couldn't find that file in the Best Practices folder (50101040)

BPC error after the installation

Hi Experts,
I have completed BPC 7.0 SP2 installation and connected BI 7.0 instance (EHP1 installation completed sucessfully, added BPC add-on). i installed BPC Admin client and connected to APSHELL but when i am trying to create new app set by coping existing one or try to modify any task profiles, i am getting errors like GetTaskProfileData() with object refreence not assigned. log file showing below error.

Hi All,
thank you all for your valuable time for me.
i am able to trace out the issue, this was cuased with "Message Queue" format, i followed as per the installation document like queue name is Private$\bpcmessagequeue , it went fine last installation and worked fine.
but this time, i have given same format but system configuration file has taken into wrong format and unable to read task status from queue cuased the issue. i have correct using below format.
<HOSTNAME>\$Private\bpcmessagequeue, this format for remote queue, but even requesting same format for local queue also.

Creating a Business Scenario for CPM BPC 10

Hi Everyone,
I've been trying to create a Business Scenario within my Solution Manager (TCode: SOLAR01). But I've don't see any option related to our version of our Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC 10). The only option I see that is close enough is "SAP BusinessObjects Business Planning and Consolidation" but it shows an older product version "SAP BPC 7.0 FOR MICROSOFT, SAP BPC 7.0 FOR SAP NETWEAVER".
To be clear, the ff is what I'm trying to do.
Steps:
1. TCode SOLAR01
2. Project >> Business Scenarios
3. Source = Business Process Repository
4. Add Scenario Name (F4)
Our SAP BPC software has been installed within our "SAP Netweaver AS ABAP 7.31" as the following Software Component:
Software Component: CPMBPC
Release: 801
Level: 0001
Highest Support Package: SAPK-80101INCPMBPC
Description: CPM Business Planning and Consolidation
So my question is, how do I properly add the business scenario that matches my BPC 10 software component? Is there anything I must do/check first?
Apologies if this might sound very basic, but I'm new to Solman.

I have the same scenario in my environment consisting of Solution Manager 7.0, "SAP Business Objects Business Planning and Consolidation" but it shows an older product version "SAP BPC 7.0 FOR MICROSOFT, " Only
But in Solution Manager 7.1 System it is showing both ""SAP BPC 7.0 FOR MICROSOFT,SAP BPC 7.0 FOR SAP NET WEAVER".
Please Suggest is anything needs to be done in Solman 7.0 System ?

BPC Data Transformation

Hello BPC Experts,
I'm creating a BPC MS version demo environment for our prospect customer.
To import the data from the external system, I got the excel data file from them.
In the excel file, there're more than one Account's value in one line;
(Customer's Excel File)
ENTITY RowMaterialCost ProductCost SubcontractingCost ConstructionCost
A01     1000000          2000000      3000000             4000000
B01     5000000          6000000      7000000             8000000
C01     9000000          1000000      2000000             3000000
To import these 4 data via Data Manager, should I split one row into 4 per ENTITY
like below or is there any tool or transformation method so that
I don't have to convert the original file?

A01,2010.JUN,ACTUAL,ROWMATCOST,1000000

I seems that MVAL statement can be used for TIME dimension.
(When I try to use MVAL for ACCOUNT dimension, I got an error such as
"Required dimension:TIME=*MVAL(2:5)]")
So next, I want to try MKEY statement described in your link, but I assume that this can be used from BPC 7.0 or 7.5 version.
Example:
Account=MKEY(LC|NEWCOL(Cash_lc)||GC|COL(1)+STR(gc)||TC|*NEWCOL(Cash_tc))
Since my BPC is still 5.1 and we're planning to install the latest version this month, I'll try to use MKEY and investigate a little more as soon as BPC 7.5 is installed.
I'll update the status in this forum then.
