BPM 11.1.1.3.0 Database issue

Hello,
I am doing a BPM project which is still new to me right now. I have a question about the DBAdapter in BPM process.
I want to read several tables from database and then fetch the data into each attribute in the process data object and then make them to show on the adf page input box. How should I make this function. should I use the database adapter and then use service task to call the service? Which options I should choose on Operation Type when define the database adapter? Or is there another way to show the data from database on the adf page after user input the parameter?
Maybe I should explain a little more about the process. A user login the BPM Workspace.
task1. user will choose the type of filing--initial filing or annual filing. If user choose annual filing, then he/she has to input the ID number to pull his/her old input from the database.
task2. After he/she Click the "SUBMIT" button with the input of ID number on the task1,
task3. There will be a new task pop out in the workspace. He/she will have to review the input (which comes from the database).
so task3 is the part I have no clue how to do it. Can anyone give me some ideas please?
Thank you very much for your help.
Sincerely,
Viola

Hello Dan, I made the application with your method. But while I was deploying the bpm project it has some problems.
1. it pops out an authorization request box ask me input the username and password.
2. no matter what I input, it will fail the deployment. and give me bunch of red letters say "Problem in sending HTTP request to the server. Check standard HTTP response code for 401"
3. when I check the weblogic server log messages, it has so many errors like
"BPEL Component "default/PLS_OR1_BPM_ADF_V1!1.0*soa_8ee1b2bc-64a7-4d3b-9fc8-db23ef49e7bf/PLSOR1BPMV1" load FAILED!!"
"Message     <.> queryViewTasks(): Failed to get OptionalInformation for task number: 200435"
"Message     Illegal call to setup the context of an include that is already in context"
"java.lang.RuntimeException: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01403: no data found
ORA-06512: at "SOAWL_MDS.MDS_INTERNAL_SHREDDED", line 407
ORA-06512: at "SOAWL_MDS.MDS_INTERNAL_SHREDDED", line 603
ORA-06512: at line 1"
My question is
1. are those error is because of the server? or because I set up something wrong in my application?
2. when you say deploy the two ADF UI projects, are you talking about deploy the one has model and the one is viewcontroller?
3. so I will deploy 1 jar file and 3 ear files(one for the bpm project UI, two for the adf UI) total?
Sorry to give you so much questions before thanksgiving, I hope you will have a super sweet thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Viola

  • Database issue in TM

    Hi,
Can someone throw light how we access or find out if there is any  database issue or where fine tuning is required for improving ABAP performance using tcode sdf/mon.
Currently when I enter into transaction and select SQL trace etc we only get info about the job and program is running status but don't have any idea about the performance of the jobs etc

    Hi,
    Go to se30 .
there you provide your program name & in swich on/off button you can check your session is active for trace.
    now you execute your program.
as soon as you will come back you will find this screen.
here you can find your all trace and you can check your DB table trace in DB Table Tab.

  • Cloud Database issue:-Timeoutexpired. The Timeout perion elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding

I am facing following issue in cloud database
Issue:  Altering any stored procedure in cloud database, Application throwing time out issue.
If same stored procedure running in backend(SQL),it’s executing without delay i.e. executing in 3 sec, not sure what is happening.
This is not happening on regular basis, After altering procedure if I wait for 15 to 20 minutes(not running any queries) then it will automatically get resolved.
Please let me know if any fix is available for the above issue.

    Hello,
Try to enable TCP/IP and Named Pipes using the following article. Restart SQL Server service when done.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191294.aspx
Enable and start SQL Server Browser service.
    Hope this helps.

  • Database issue? Client issue?

very similar sql statements. if it returns less than 100 rows, it takes 1 second, which is acceptable. But when it returns 1000+ rows, it takes 10+ seconds, which is not acceptable.
My question is, is it the database issue? or because of the network/ client memory that taking too long to show the data on the sql plus?
Since the execution of the sql is fast, I think the bottleneck is on showing the results....how to improve it?
    Thanks for your help!

As this means that you cannot simply isolate one aspect (number of rows returned), and use that as a comparative benchmark. You have not provided any evidence that the number of rows returned, is the reason for the difference in performance.
Assuming your sql1 and sql2 are on the same data - another contributing factor to the performance difference could be that sql1 hit the disk (and cached data), and that sql2 conveniently hit the cache and not the disk.
A word from he-who-waves-lead-pipe-and-foams-at-the-mouth - the type of comparison you are attempting is almost always fundamentally flawed. Even an identical SQL executed within seconds of one another, will have different elapsed execution times.
Performance tuning is not about comparing process 1 with process 2 and trying to figure out why one is slow and the other fast. Performance tuning is about examining, in detail, the workload of a process. Because if you have no idea WHAT the process is doing, how can determine which parts are slow and which parts can be optimised?

  • Strange Database issues while trying to create new user through EM...

I'm attempting to configure my local Oracle 11g database in order to create a Content Server user in order to setup a Fatwire installation. I'm getting some strange issues with my database that I was hoping maybe someone could help me out with.
The guide I'm following starts with this:
+1. Determine the Console Server port:+
    a. Open the emoms.properties file in a text editor. The file is located in:
    +<ora_home>/<servername>_<SID>/sysman/config/+
    b. Find the line,
    oracle.sysman.emSDK.svlt.ConsoleServerPort
and make a record of the port number value at the end of the line.
When I open the emoms.properties file in Notepad++, I'm unable to read the contents - it's all symbols/jibberish.
    The next step says this:
+2. Log in to the Oracle Enterprise Manager console:+
    a. Execute the following command: emctl status dbconsole
When I execute that command I get the following error:
Environment variable ORACLE_UNQNAME not defined. Please set ORACLE_UNQNAME to database unique name.
    The third step says this:
Open a browser and go to the URL highlighted in bold in step a above. If you see
a “Security Mismatch” error, ignore it (the error appears if you are using a selfsigned
    certificate).
I skipped to this step because I'm assuming the link it wants me to go to is my EM console (https://localhost:1158/em/console/aboutApplication), however when I browse to that URL I get the following error:
    503 Service Unavailable
Service is not initialized correctly. Verify that the repository connection information provided is correct.
Clearly, something isn't right here. What's going on? Any help would be appreciated.

Did you try what I suggested?Yes, thanks for the advice. Now I'm having some additional issues. When I run emctl status dbconsole I get the following error:

    J_DBConsole_ORCL-SMITH.company.com_localhost_orcl not found.
This is appearing after I made the appropriate changes to the emoms.properties file and set ORCL_UNQNAME to "localhost_orcl" <-- is that correct? the path to my emoms.properties is:
    C:\app\john.smith\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\localhost_orcl\sysman\config
Here is my emoms.properties file, does this look right?

    Hi,
Permissions Issue on STANDBY machine?First problem I see is the sysdba password must be the same on both sides (target and auxiliary dbs).
    From the documentation.
The source database and auxiliary instances must use the same SYSDBA password, which means that both instances must have password files. You can
create the password file with a single password so you can start the auxiliary instance and enable the source database to connect to it.Check all prereqs for the standby db duplicate here.

  • BPM Studio 11.1.1.5 Install Issues

    Greetings,
I am trying to work with BPM Studio 11g but have been unsuccessful at getting the extensions installed correctly with JDeveloper 11g. I have a fresh installation of JDeveloper 11.1.1.5 and installed the BPM Studio extensions for JDeveloper via Help>Check for updates in JDeveloper. The download and installation process appeared to work fine however when I try to utilize the BPM functionality in most circumstances nothing happens or the options are not available. The BPM Analyst role is available via Tools>Preferences>Roles and the option to create a BPM Application/Project also seems to work, but not much else. I noticed a list of warnings in the JDeveloper 'extensions' log window that suggests the extensions weren't installed correctly. I've uninstalled JDev and installed 11.1.1.3 with BPM Studio extensions and I get the same issues. I'm not sure what to do at this point.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
If you can't connect to the internet from your JDeveloper, you can directly download JDeveloper extensions from the below link, and point the Check for Updates wizard to the local file you have downloaded.

  • Access database issue in SQL Plus

    Hi Friends,
I download a oracle 10g to install sql Plus without create database. (I download client and does not find SQL Plus)
I can ping database server from client PC and also set up a TNS.
However I got a error ORA 12504 --TNS:listener was not start.
I can access database by sql plua from server side. I do not think we need to put a listener file in client PC under admin path.
my database set as RAC module and system as window 2003
    how to fix this issue?
    Thanks,
    JIm

OK, just to be clear, you have a single client machine where you have installed something with the 10g label. Are you saying that you installed the Oracle database bits, but did not create a database? Rather than doing a client-only install? Is there a single Oracle home on the client machine?
And then you have a RAC database running on multiple Windows 2003 servers, right? Is there a listener running for this RAC database? Can you connect to it from other client machines?
Are you certain that the service name you specified in the client machine's tnsnames.ora file matches the service the listener is listening for?

  • BPM getting data from multiple JDBC databases

Hi - a 'high level' question...
I have a scenario where the first step in my bpm is a receive step which will be a JDBC send adapter/comm channel to a particular database.  The rows returned will have a key field called "ID".  For each of these rows, I need to go to a completely different JDBC database to gather more data based on this key "ID".
Not sure how to go about this, but this is my best guess
    1) receive step, asynchronous which will be used by the jdbc send adapter
    2) create a block, mode ForEach referring to the messages returned in the initial receive step.  In this block there will be:
3)THIS IS THE PART I'M CONFUSED ON - do i need a synchronous send step, with the request message being the message from the initial receive and a response message being the message from the JDBC recieve adapter?  How does the "ID" get passed in to select the proper record? How is a SQL created to get the proper record from the second database?
4 etc) After that, it would be a straight forward transform and send to the target system...which i'm ok with.
Again, my confusion is how the key field is somehow passed to the second JDBC call.
any assistance or clarification would be greatly appreciated!  thanks /dave

    HI,
<i>For each of these rows, I need to go to a completely different JDBC database to gather more data based on this key "ID"</i>
    >>>To gather more data, means you are going to select the data for each key ID. Then this data you need to send to target system right ? If so, you need to have Synchronous Send from BPM.
Your BPM steps will be like this
    1) Receive the message from Database(JDBC sender)
    2) Block with Foreach
    3) Send the data Synchrnously to the other database with the help of Reciever JDBC adapter
    4) Receive the Response, and Send this Asynchrnoulsy to the Target System.
DO you need Foreach loop here , i am just thinking ? You can pass multplr Key Values to the JDBC Receiver structure and get the Response at a time.

I have run the 2 commands ./psconfig.sh and ./setup.sh in root but get the same error message.
My question is: Does PeopleTools8.53 Linux Version have a problem ? How to solve the issue ?
    Thanks.

    Folks,
Hello. Thanks a lot for replying.

Second, how to view Oracle database instances in Oracle Database Server so that make sure Database instance PT853 is created ?
    Thanks.

  • Oracle SQL Developer 3.1 Migration Third Party Databases Issues

    Hi,
i had following issues with migrating from db2 v8 to oracle 11.2.
    Online:
Due to missing privileges and roles for user db user migrations some steps have failed (CREATE USER -> ORA-01031 ...).
After correcting this like described in "Creating a Database User for the Migration Repository" in sqldev online help this has worked.
    The problems are:
    a) on the overview page at the end of the migration assistent all steps (CAPTURE, CONVERT, GENERATE, DATAMOVE) are shown as complete, even if nothing has done
    b) on page 6/9 into migration assistant all changes for datatype convertion are ignored, for example CHAR to VARCHAR2
    c) generated files are not visible, even if you mark refresh on file view
    d) after restarting sqldev, generarted files are visible in file view, but when you add generated files to svn error message "svn: File: xxx has inconsitent newlines" is shown
    e) after sucessful migration on opened migration project pane "data quality" sourcenumrows are NULL, even if they always NOT NULL and count(*) on any table on both sites are equal
    Offline:
    Generated skripts contains errors:
./startDump.sh: line 157: syntax error near unexpected token `done'
    '/startDump.sh: line 157: `done < "schemas.dat"
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks in advance
    André

    Hi kgronau,
    thanks for your fast answer.
Today i have found 2 new issue.
When you have opened a migration project from repository, on pane "data quality" sourcenumrows are always null
    and
sourcename and targetname shows always databse object names from the database on the first migration project in repository independently of extra section in drop down box model and source.
    kgronau wrote:
    André,
I used SQL Dev 3.1 and I captured a DB2 database. Then I've changed the rule to map char to varchar2 and started the migration.
When I now check out my custom tables all all of them that had in the source model a char column are now using varchar2.I have tried to changed dataype for target database in place over the drop down box, not the edit rule button. It's a little bit confusing to have this option, when it doesn't works.
After using the edit rule button, all works fine. Just the summary page 9/9 doesn't report changed datatype assignment.
    >
Could you please explain what you mean with your option c and d?c)
Yes i'm meaning View -> Files. Sorry but on german windows i have just german menu items. That is sometimes tricky to retranslate for support questions and also not helpful when using the online help where all menu items referenced in english :-(
(Do you have an ideo how can i configure sqldev with english menu aon german windows?)
I think, this problemn is special for output folders under subversion control.
    d)
Generated Files after the end of the migration are just visible in output folders under subversion control after restarting sqldev

Are you talking about Opening a File viewer window (View -> Files)? In my case I have chosen d:\temp\DB2 as output and monitored it during the migration. It isn't refreshed until I manually click on the refresh button - but once the migration has finished and written the output and when I then click on the refresh button I'll see all the directories and the files included.
Edited by: kgronau on Mar 7, 2012 12:39 PM
When a migration has finished then SQL Developer 3.1 now creates in the top directory an unload_script.sh file which calls the other unload scripts. That's right, all scripts are generated.
Also the data unload scripts were created - I need to find a DB2 on Unix to check the script - a quick check of the windows scripts worked correctly.
Edited by: kgronau on Mar 7, 2012 1:22 PM
These unload shell scripts to unload the data out of a DB2 database are also working.
Unfortunately I'm not able to test the shell script used for a source model unload as my UDB is running on Windows.
Didn't the online source model collection work? For me it looks like it did as you mentioned you changed the char data types to varchar2 and this requires already a connection to the source database - except you used the scripts that were generated using the startDump.sh which has failed. Yes, online source model collection did work. Just the unix shell script produces an error on the source unix system with db2. Please see below th generated script.
So please provide here some more details../startDump.sh was startet for testing purposes without any arguments
./startDump.sh: line 157: syntax error near unexpected token `done'
    '/startDump.sh: line 157: `done < "

    - When creating a SQL connection the wizard will not connect
to a SQL 2005 named instance. Tried 'localhost\instance' and
'hostname\instance' and get the following error.
    java.sql.SQLException: Unknown server host name
    'DMC\DEV2005'.

  • Auto increment field in database issue

Ok, I have read all about the issues with the auto increment field when trying to hook my form up to a ms access database.
My problem is that the auto increment field is the one field I want in my form.
Any suggestions how to create a new record with my form? its a simple database, date field, and PO number (the auto incremented field)
Just trying to get a fresh PO number on my PO form each time its filled out....

I have a vital form that clients fill out, which is passed to many people in the company along the workflow. The form is a Planner and we have in the following PDF, Word Doc..
Well before, the Planner.pdf was originally created in Word, since most people have access to Word.. but evolved to a PDF form created from the Word Doc via Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0 w/ User Rights enabled so that the form could be filled out and saved using Adobe Reader.. which was a step better than Word.. being that it is free. But this needed to be easier and more to the point b/c some clients don't particularly like installing the latest version of Reader, even if you provide them the link. Nor do they like saving the form, filling the form, and attaching the form to send back.
My goal is to have the client fill an HTML version of the form, submit and be done with it, but everyone in the workflow be able to easily receive the filled Planner as a PDF form.
So some months ago I ran into this post Chris Trip, "Populate Livecycle PDF from mySQL database using PHP" #8, 22 Sep 2007 4:37 pm
which uses the command line Win32 pdftk.exe to merge an FDF file into an existing PDF on the remote server, and serve this to whoever.
My problem was with shared hosting and having the ability to use the Win32 pdftk.exe along with PHP which is predominantly used on Linux boxes. And we used a Linux box.
so i created the following unorthodox method, which a client fills the HTML version of the Planner, all field values are INSERTED into a table in MySQL DB, I and all filled planners that have been filled by clients to date can be viewed from a repository page where an XML file is served up of the corresponding client, but someone would have to have Acrobat Professional, to import the form data from the XML file into a blank form.. altoughh this is simple for me.. I have the PHP file already created so that when a Planner is filled and client submits. >> the an email is sent to me with a table row from the repository of the client name, #, email, and a link to d-load the XML file,
But I also have the PHP files created so that the Planner can be sent to by email to various people in the workflow with certain fileds ommitted they they do not need to see, but instead of the XML file beiong served up i need the filled PDF Planner to be served.
I can do this locally with ease on a testing server, but I am currently trying to use another host that uses cross-platform compatibility so i can use PHP and the pdftk.exe to achieve this, as that is why I am having to serve up an XML file b/c we use a Linux server for our website, and cant execute the exe.
Now that I am testing the other server (cross-platform host), just to use them to do the PDF handling (and it's only $5 per month) I am having problems with getting READ, WRITE, EXECUTE permissions..
Si guess a good question to ask is can PHP do the same procedure as the pdftk.exe, and i can eleminate it.
or how in the heck can i get this data from the DB into a blank PDF form, like i have described??

  • ACS external database issue

    Hi
I have the following issue, user exists on both the ACS and token server authenication is set to external database with no unknown user policy as the user is known to the ACS! this fails authenication error message is CS user unknown... Now if the unknown user policy is set to the external database the authenication works fine this is on 3.3. I have checked for bugs to no avail.
    Any assistance would be good...
    Thanks MJ

    Hi JG
Many thanks for your response, it is configured this way due the documentation below:
Known Users -Users explicitly added, either manually or automatically, into the CiscoSecureACS database.
These are users added through User Setup in the HTML interface, by the RDBMS Synchronization feature, by the Database Replication feature, or by the CSUtil.exe utility. For more information about CSUtil.exe, see "CSUtil Database Utility".
CiscoSecureACS attempts to authenticate a known user with the single database that the user is associated with. If the user database is the CiscoSecure user database and the user does not represent a Voice-over-IP (VoIP) user account, a password is required for the user. If the user database is an external user database or if the user represents a VoIP user account, CiscoSecureACS does not have to store a user password in the CiscoSecure user database.
