BPS EXPERT come in

Dear colleague :
I met a requirment in bps, I have a hier (info object : 0material ) in layout. The 0material has a attribute "0compcode" ,different user could see different material according to 0compcode. But in Planning level , I only have one choice to restric 0maerial, either A hier or a user exit variable.how could I use them both in planning level.
the hier like this:
material group 1
material A        belong to  comp code 1000
material B         belong to  comp code 2000
material group 2
material C        belong to  comp code 1000
material D        belong to  comp code 2000
when the user input value of variable 0comp_code  to 1000, he only can see the hier include material A and C.
David

Hi,
as I understand the problem is that one wants to have a hierarchy display filterd by some attribute values. In BPS one can use either a hierarchy selection or an attribute selection in the planning level or package.
But there is a work around:
- use the attribute selection in the planning level/package
- use the concept of display hierarchy as explained in note 595843

is thereranyway of separating the clocks of the memory 2d 3dlowpower and 3d?
i want if it possible to o/c the 3d, and that hte 2d and 3d low power stay stock clocks. so far ive been able to do it for the processor, but the memory frequency would o/c 3 of them.

that it o/c only in 3d, thats why. anyways i found out that memory o/c doenst give much, the main thing is the gpu o/c. i was able to push my 7900gt to bring out 1000 more 3d mrks. 800 of them were coming from the gpu, 200 marks from memory, both memory and gpu o/ced to similar level
"that it o/c only in 3d, thats why."
well you already do that.. memory is not a problem to be clocked in any mode if its stable. memory chips are powered constant with same vcore in all performace modes so if its stable, will be stable in all modes.

  • Function types for Balance Sheet Planning missing in SEM-BPS 6.0

    Hi BPS experts,
After upgrading our BI-system from SEM 4.0 to SEM 6.0 (level 10) as part of the upgrade from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 (level 15), the BPS function types for balance sheet planning are not available in the planning environment (Transaction code BPS0).
According to the SAP Library the balance sheet planning functions in SEM-BPS comprises of 6 standard function types - one of them is "Depreciation":
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sem60/helpdata/en/0a/242537cedf2056e10000009b38f936/frameset.htm">help.sap.com -> Business Planning and Simulation (BW-BPS)</a>
Menu path: Business Planning Functions -> Functions for Balance Sheet Planning
In our existing SEM 4.0 we are using "Depreciation" and the functions based on this function type are of course short dumping when executed in our upgraded system (SEM 6.0) as the function type does not exist here.
Odd though - we do have the function type "Allocation" available in SEM 6.0, which should be delivered with SEM together with the Balance Sheet Planning function types (It is listed directly under "Business Planning Functions" in the SAP Library) .
I have tried to figure out whether we missed out on activating something during or after the system installation, but our basis consultant has not found anything in the installation guides related to this issue. Also I was wondering whether it could be a simple matter of activating some Business Content but without any luck.
Does anybody know why the Balance Sheet Function Types are not available in SEM-BPS 6.0?
    Kind regards,
    Lars

  • BPS extraction to BI

    Hello BW-BPS experts,
I have worked on R/3 to BI extractions but totally new in BPS part of BI 7.0
    1. I want to know how to implement BPS in BW 7.0. Is it better practise to make different reports to view BPS data??
    2. Is extraction process from BPS to BW different from extraction from R/3 modules(MM, SD etc) to BW ?? if yes then whats the difference.
    3. Are there any standard datasources for extracting BPS data that we have to activate and use like what we do for LO extractions??
    4. From some threads in forum i get to know that BPS dont need different server then BW as what we do for R/3, then how do we extract data from BPS to BW.
    Please suggest. Points assured.
    Thanks,

    Hi sdn,
Planning functions change the transaction data in a planning package. Each planning function is assigned to just one planning level. There are various types of planning function (for example, copy, distribute, delete, formula). Parameter groups are created for a planning function. Those fields that are to be changed are determined when a planning function is defined The values of those fields are determined when a parameter group is defined.
You want to copy data from the actual version to the plan version. When you define the planning function you can determine which fields are to be changed during the copy operation. Select the Version field. When determining the parameter group you determine that version 001 is to be copied to version 002.

  • BPS- Scoping Documents or Blueprint.

    Hello BPS Experts,
Here is our situation- We are using so many other 3rd party tools for budgeting, planning, forecasting and so on. We recently upgraded our boxes to NW2004s and thinking of eliminating all the 3rd party tools by using the integrated BW-BPS. Before we convince the clients, we need to prepare an estimated time and a Blueprint documents.
Can anyone please help us in sending any blueprint documents related to BPS? to [email protected]
Also can anyone tell a rough estimate of how long will it take to do budgeting for just one costcenter?
We need to proceed with the scooping document or blueprint first before looking into planing areas, planning folders etc. So, please don't send any  links from help.sap.com or servicemarket place as we know where they are and this does not solve our purpose without the estimates and scop's or Blueprint.

  • Use BPS in SAP BI

    HI Gurus,
We are in New implementation, Our Client is looking to implement SAP BI, SEM BPS & BCS, SAP CRM & ECC
From a technical perspective we are a little confused. If any body can clarify some the question, it would be great
    1) Is SAP BI supports SEM BPS? if supports can i use built BPS with BI or SEM BPS.
    2) Is these two products ( SEM-BPS ) and BI-BPS essentially same or different... which is preferred?
    Thanks
    RAvi

SEM-BPS only comes when you install the SEM addon which you would be with SEM-BCS.
BW-BPS comes with BW 3.5 and BI 7.0 but the difference between SEM-BPS and BW-BPS is about 10 or so planning functions such as allocation, time lag, IRR, account based currency translation, etc.  and some sample planning applicaitons which you can import from client 000 in SEM-BPS but not in BW-BPS.
Which versions does the client have for the different systems since that can have a slight impact.  Oterwise bo
If you are using CRM, are you planning to use some of the CRM based planning stuff such as CRM markeing or TPM?   If so, you need SEM-BPS from this as well.
IP is a newer planing product than BPS and has some additional strengths but it does not have the embedded planning services that SEM-BPS has.
BPC is the acquired OutlookSoft as a different product and there is a new version 7.0 coming out on BI 7.0 but please note that it uses different master data than BW so if you want integrated stuff with R/3, and CRM, you can have some challeges there.

  • Com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher slow in Portal

    Hi experts,
com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher is consistently showing as one of the slowest-running in our NW2004s SP16 Portal (non-Federated).  Even the report variable screen is slow to load especially on first-time access. E.g., 31.8 seconds first time, 5.9 seconds second access in same session.
But what is curious is that it sometimes the variable screen load time goes as low as 350ms if you keep trying within the same session.
We've done the obvious - patching the BI Web App components, tuning the portal & Java runtime, checking the JCOs, load-balancing, tweaked the BI backend... but without being able to impact the performance of this application substantially.
So I would value any suggestions for improvement!  Any tables we can cache?  Any SAP Notes to shed some light on this area?  Any Portal settings to tweak?
    Thanks, Marc

    Hi Marc,
Slow point are to com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.integration.launcher and
JCO connection. Would you please check CPIC_MAX_CONV in SAP Note 314530?
-Regarding of BI java on Web performance, would you please check the
    SAP Note 1022930?
SAP Note 1025307 is a summary notes for performance on Web.
Do you use antivirus software with a javascript  scanner, but still would you please also check the SAP Note 983066 because sometime this also may responsible for slow performance.
SAP Note 948158:  Performance problems/measuring BI Java Web runtime
One more thing would like to highlight:
In first acess it's slow because OLAP cache was not in use, but after the first execution it's loading the variable from the cache so it's comperatively fast then the previous acess.
Let me know, incase any confusion..
    Thank you,
    Tilak

  • How to Clear Buffer after Executed Planning Function in BPS

    Hi BW-BPS Experts,
I am BPS novice. We are executing Work Packages through planning folders. In Planning Folder we have 3 planning functions.Among those 3 , 2 Planning fns executed successfully, while executing 3rd one , it given error msg. So how can I clear the values in Buffer which r executed by first 2 planning fns. I haven' t saved any values to Cube. But I need to process these planning fns again.
I will appreciate if any body can let me know how can I process these planning functions again without disturbing.
I did From Menu Edit -> Undo Planning function. It give the msg: Last planning function was undone. How can I undo all Planning functions?
Its Production systyem. So pls advise me.
    Points will be awarded.
    Thanks,
    Abhi.

    Hi Abhi,
There are 2 transactions which might help you.
    1. /$obj - resets object buffers
    2. /$sync - resets all buffers
I would sugest that you study the impact on the data in buffer as many users might be in the system using BPS. If there is no risk to your business process you can use the above transactions.

  • BPS - No alpha conversion exit or similar provision?

    Dear BPS Experts,
In the Flat File that we are loading to BPS Cube (using the HOW-TO Paper in SDN), if User is having a value 100000006 for Customer and value 10200058 for Material then the flat file upload exit fails. It works only when user changes the value for Customer to 000000000100000006 and value for Material to 0010200058.
I believe, you must have understood my point.
    PROBLEM 1
In BW, we have Conversion Exits like ALPHA that take care of internal to external format conversion and vice-versa. Unfortunately, in BPS, it seems system expects users to enter values as they exist in the master data tables like P Tables for Characteristics.
QUE 1: Is my above understanding correct?
We have many characteristics (25-30) in our file and I do not want to write a separate Exit to do any conversion like ALPHA, that would really slow down the performance.
    PROBLEM 2
We have a field in the file called 'Manager Name'. Now this field can really have any value. It is not possible for us to load master data in BW for this field. If BPS is suffering from this basic limitation then I am afraid, we can not use it for loading flat file. We have to use only BW
QUE 2: Is there any way, by which I can make BPS accept and load transaction data in BPS Cube even if some master data in that file does not exist. If so, then what is the way to go about it?
I am aware of BW means to load Flat File data to BW/BPS Cubes. But we have many compelling reasons to use Planning Folder to load Flat File. Hence, if some expert can advice about overcoming these limitations with BPS then it would be highly appreciated.
PS: I understand, functionally it does not make sense to plan for something which does not exist in master data. Having said so, there can be some exceptional situations and BPS being the sibling of BW, I expected it to have that capacity.
    Regards,
    Adi

    Hi Deepti,
I appreciate your link. That document is very good although it does not solve my problem.
Please note that I am talking about loading a flat file to BPS Cube here and there may be hundreds of values which still do not exist in master data. Your suggested HOW-TO document will be helpful when someone tries to enter data in a planning layout as we do not expect users to enter so many records in planning layout.
I am also aware that we can simply create a Z-Transaction Code (similar to RSD1) to update master data values for a particular InfoObject and Users can be given access to this code. But that is not what I intend to do.
I am looking for a broader and generic solution.
When we load a flat file to BW, we have an option in InfoPackage "Load Transaction Data even if no Master Data exists".. that kind of option or setting really along with something similar to ALPHA Conversion Exits.
    Hope my requirement is clearer.

    Adi

  • MSI P965 Neo-F (MS-7235) problem booting from USB flash drive

    Hi, all!
I was wondering if someone can help me. I am trying to install Windows 7 x64 on my 320GB HDD that is connected to my MSI P965 Neo-F (MS-7235) mobo (The CPU is a Core2Duo 6600 with 6GB of RAM). I created a bootable USB 8GB flash drive using Microsoft's "Windows 7 DVD USB Download Tool" and bootsect.exe (Needed to create a boot sector on the USB drive) from the MS store. I successfully tested the resulting bootable USB drive using freeware MobaLiveCD (Sorry, you'll have to Google "mobalivecd" since this forum doesn't seem to allow external links) running under Windows XP SP3 x86 (32bit). Under MobaLive's QEMU, Windows 7 setup loaded its files and produced an error message basically saying that it could not install Windows 7 x64 under an x86 OS (No surprise there since QEMU is emulating a 32bit processor - The point is that the bootable USB drive I created works).
I then went into my mobo's CMOS and under Advanced BIOS Features -> Boot Sequence -> 1st Boot Device, set the value to "USB-HDD" and rebooted my machine. The USB drive probably was not detected by the mobo under that setting because it proceeded to boot from my HDD which is the 2nd Boot Device. I repeated the same process using each one of the  four USB ports in the rear of the mobo (I don't have the optional USB panel that the MSI users manual mentions) to no avail. I also tried setting the 1st Boot Device to "USB-FDD" and repeated the process for each USB port but the mobo still will not boot from the USB drive (It does not recognize it). When I set the 1st Boot Device to "USB-ZIP" and rebooted, the mobo hangs after "Verifying DMI Pool Data ..." which is no surprise since I am not using a USB ZIP drive but a USB flash drive. It appears that under that setting, it recognizes that there is a USB device attached but it is expecting a response (From a USB ZIP drive). I had no idea it would be this frustrating to boot from a USB flash drive! If anyone knows how to make this mobo boot from a USB flash drive, please let me know. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Quote from: RemusM on 12-June-14, 17:51:30
The P965 Neo motherboard is 8 years old, so don't expect miracles. .... You need to format the USB stick in the proper way. You may use this utility to do it: hxxp://www.prime-expert.com/flashboot/ Also, it's a good idea to use the first (USB0) connector (controlled by Intel ICH8) for the USB flash drive. Good luck.
Thank You for your fast response, RemusM!
I'm not looking for a miracle. I'm just looking for a mobo that does what it is supposed to do: Allow me to boot from a USB flash drive (I don't think that is too much to ask for even from a board that was made in 2006)!
Thanks for recommending FlashBoot. I see under their "Why FlashBoot" section that it "... does not shift to user the burden of choice between "USB-ZIP" and "USB-HDD" at format time and proper BIOS setup at boot time. ... and every USB disk is formatted in such way that it will work in every environment properly, regardless of current BIOS setting.", so I will give it a try and let you know about the results afterwards.

  • Manual Layout data not saving to trx cube

    Hello BPS Experts,
I am trying to load some data using manual planning. I open the layout and enter the values and press save. I do not find any requests / data in the cube.
case 1) No error / warning
I do not get any error during the save function in the layout. What could be the possible step I am missing. What could be the root cause..
case 2) message - No data to be saved
sometimes i get a message 'No data to be saved'. And that data is not getting saved. What could be the reason of this message.
    Regards,
    BWer
    Message was edited by: BWer

    Hello BWer,
One of the main reasons for data not saving from a layout into a Trx cube, is if there is no key figure being updated. The value of the key figure being posted should <> 0.
If you choose the option to display transaction data in your layout, then, only data with key figure values <> 0 will be displayed.

  • Getting the message from a Cancel event Message Box

    Hi there,
I would like to know if a user select from menu in SAP 8.8 Data-> Cancel.  We get a message box for confirmation Yes/No user wants to cancel the document so that it is status is changed to cancel.  I would like to know how can you get the message and the caption from that message box in order to know the appropriate action to take with respect to the form type.  In purchare order, when you select cancel, the message box has a caption "Purchase Order" and the text of the message box is "Cancelling a document is irreversible. Document status will be changed to "Canceled" and the document will not appear in the Sales/Purchase analysis reports. Do you want to continue?"
I want to know how may I  get these two piece of information.  Actually I know there is a button caption property but I must know the message in order to distinguish in code which is 'YES' is clicked.
Any help or lead will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

This seems to be an SDK question so it would be better to post it in the SDK forum as you will get way more answers; alot less of the experts come in to the B1i forum.
Anyways, I will suggest an answer but I'd ask you close this thread and continue it in the SDK forum if you still have issues.
The form in question has form type = 0 so my method of achieving this would be:
    1. Catch the Item Pressed event on form with typeEx == 0 and BeforeAction == true.
    2. Check if Form.Title == "Purchase Order".
    3. Now to check the text - first of all, before coding, go to View->System Information. Now go to a PO and select Cancel; hover the mouse over the text on the form, you will see that the three lines of text are actually labels with UIDs 7, 1000001 and 1000002. In your code you can check if the Label with ItemUID == 7 has the text "Cancelling a document is....etc etc"
    4. If it does have that text you now know the user has clicked a button on that form.
    6. If not, they have some other type of message box open
    7. Check which button they clicked: pVal.ItemUID == 1 means it was Yes, pVal.ItemUID == 2 means it was No
    Hope it helps

  • Remote networking mac desktop to mac laptops

    Hi
We are a small business trying to setup a network between our office Mac desktop and our two mac laptops. All are using OSX 10.8.2. We thought that there should be a way to remotely log into the mac desktop in the office, when we are working away through our laptops so all of our files are stored in the one place? We live in a small area and have had three "IT experts" come in and as soon as they see Mac they run the other way. Their only suggestion is the Airport which only works when we are in the office next to the desktop. Is there any way at all to do this. Obviously our files are confidential so we would need a secure network. We are happy to purchase additional software we just want to get it done and have no idea where to start. If anyone has any ideas they would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Thanks!

As Alberto suggested Back to my Mac is one way, I use (and prefer) TeamViewer for internal and external connections. Try it here

  • Help - Finding images that I've edited

    Hi again,
This is a contination of a prior post, but has narrowed in scope.  I have a case open with Adobe realted to my catalog going haywire at some point in the past (longer ago than my oldest catalog BU). In my dealings with Adobe on this now almost 2 month old case several things have been tried. Some have helped for some of the symptoms but we're left with one remaining problem.
At this time the catalog has lost track of the CR2 half of CR2+JPG combos. The physical CR2 files are still on my HD, just the catalog now only knows about the JPG where in the past the catalog had showed CR2+RAW for those images.  I'm not going to go into all the gory details, but it looks like for situaitons where I had applied edits to my CR2+JPG combos before the catalog lost track of the CR2's, those edits are now showing on the remaining JPG (as the CR2 is no longer known to the catalog) and I need to get those edits over to the corresponding CR2 which I can re-import. So far Adobe has not been able to suggest anyting other than importing the CR2 (after setting the catalog preference to treat RAW next to JPG as seperate images) then copying the history from the JPG to the CRW one by one which is not a very exciting thought.
I have over 22,000 images in the catalog, of which, maybe 15,000 were victims of the catalog problem that lost the CR2's. What I don't know is how many, and which, photos in the catalog are lone JPG's (ie are not part of a CR2+JPG combo) and have had one or more edits applied to the image. If that number is manageable I can copy the edits one by one. If that number is too large, then I need to keep encouraging Adobe to give me a way to do this.
So, can one of you experts come up with a filter or smart collection method of isolating the lone JPG images (not CR2+JPG combos) where there are edits showing in the history. The filter or smart collection should only consider real updates and ignore history entries such as those that start with "Update to current process", "export to....", "Import...", "Publish...", Etc.
    Thanks -- Dan

    Hi Beat,
The plugin you suggested was looking real good till I got to a FAQ on their web page stating that "History Steps" are not copied.  Oops, that's what I'm really after.   I guess just the final edited image pixels are copied rather than the edit stps.
    Thanks for the thought.
