Brand new 80gb! very frustrated?!?!

i have a brand new ipod classic 80 gb. i had a 30 video and absolutely loved it, but it was stolen in a vehicle robbery and this is my replacement. when i hook it up, i am given a message that the ipod "ipod" requires itunes 7.4 or later and to download the newest version and try again or something like that. i have installed 7.5 numerous times and still get this same message every time!it will not do anything. any ideas????? please help, any advice is much appreciated!

i've got a laptop. don't have a mouse. i tried to format -> restore device deafults (brand new ipod, guess it was on default..) it took about an hour to do half so i cancelled it. switched the itunes back, it works, but doesn't show the still connected ipod.
my old ipod is a two years old ipod mini. i lost it's usb about a month ago and didn't bother buying one cos i knew i'll buy a new ipod soon.
so i use the same usb cable. and obviously not at the same time.
sorry for my tone, but it's late and i'm frustrated.

Brand new macbook very very slow -- etrecheck help!

Brand New 80GB Ipod connects on and off with my usb cable

hi, i just got a new 80gb ipod for xmas, and when i plug the usb cable to my ipod, it connects sometimes, and sometimes doesnt, and when it does, it disconnects sometimes too, i usually have to keep moving into different usb ports and one will work, then not work again, then work again later. i even tried my friends cable and its the same thing, i think somethings wrong with the port in the ipod, can anyone help ?

Turn it off. If it got wet somehow, you may try drying your ipod off. The slow method would be a sunny window sill. You could use a hair dryer on LOW, pointing it at the contacts. When it drys out, charge itand try a hard-reset. If it still doesn't function properly.... ?

Super-slow sync on brand new 80GB classic, randomly disconnects

Got a new 80GB classic today and it is REALLY slow at syncing, granted I have over 3000 songs to sync but my old 20GB U2 iPod did not take over 8 hours to upload all these songs and this new classic has already given the message 'Ok to disconnect' twice, as if the sync is complete, which is isnt. It doesnt get anywhere near halfway the 3000 tunes. I am not using a 2.0 USB but this was never an issue with my much older iPod. I cant even leave the comp on all night to take care of the sync because I know i will wake up to an 'ok to disconnect' message with about half the songs on the Pod. I think the iPod itself is slow, as the clock on it doesnt match my desktop while I watch it sync, its only just caught up the what the time was 5 minutes ago, and before this it was over half an hour behind. The yellow sync logo moves really slow, should it? maybe my comp is just too old to handle so many songs and such a new iPod, haha.

we purchased a new 160GB Classic 3 weeks ago and it was working fine up until this weekend. Now we're encountering the following problems:
- iTunes can't remember the library location and keeps changing to the default location
- iTunes and Windows don't recognize that iPod is connected
- iPod won't synch
- there are corrupted paths in the library file (weird characters at random places in path)
I've installed the latest Windows updates, uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, run regclean.exe, and fixed the library file paths.
Still, when we attached the iPod, we have problems. When I look at the Task Manager, the services.exe keeps running.
Any help? my husband is ready to throw the iPod out the window.

Brand new 80GB not recognised

Pulled it straight out of the box and connected it to my Mac.
iPod came up saying connected, message on computer saying 'Disk Insertion - The disk you inserted was not recognised' Initialise, Ignore, Eject
How can this happen with a brand new never before used iPod?
I followed the 5 R's. Reset didnt work, i tried using different ports, I then downloaded the latest iTunes from my computers Software Update menu, which downloaded successfully, then a message came up saying it can only be run in 10.4.7, which i run 10.4.6
It is ridiculous that software reccommended to download was not applicable. Is it just me or is there something wrong here?

If your profile is correct and you are running 10.4.6, that may be the issue.

Help.. brand new Ipod 80gb not being recognised by Computer or itunes

Replaced a ipod mini that was stolen from my house with a brand new 80gb ipod. Plugged it into the same computer that had been used successfully with the mini and the ipod will not be seen by either the computer or itunes. It will charge through the usb post no problem but when you plug it in it originally came up with the windows new hardware wizard, as apple have for some misguided reason stopped supplying CD's, the wizard can not find the correct driver, and fails to install. When Itunes is running nothing appears. I have been through the 5 R's, or should I say 4 r's as the fifth rely's on itunes recognizing the ipod before you can restore, countless time, so please unless you are sure don't ask me to click the hold button on and off yet again.
Plugged the ipod into an old laptop with USB 1.0 ports and the ipod was recognized which would suggest it is my main comp's usb ports that are at fault, but as two previous ipod mini's worked without fault I find this hard to believe. I think if only I had the correct driver to install I could solve this problem easily. Can anyone send me the correct driver for an 80gb ipod.
It hopefully goes without saying that I have downloaded the latest itunes software and gone through all the post's on the this site. I thought I'd cracked it with the UBSSORT file post but it was not to be....to tell you the truth if it's this complicated I'd rather send it back and buy a sony mp3 or even an ipod nano. At my wits end so please help Obi one, your my only hope

iPod is not recognized properly by computer when USB drivers are not installed properly or are out of date

New 80gb "Unknown Error -48" issue.

I recently got a brand new 80gb iPod.
Whenever I plug it in, it goes through the motions, appears in iTunes as normal & then the following error comes up (I've screen grabbed it & put it here):

If I okay that, the main iPod screen seems to show everything as normal. It says it's up to date & running software version 1.2.1 but the error message comes up if I try to add to the iPod.
If I delete stuff from the iPod, it deletes from the list on screen but as soon as I scroll, the error message comes up again. If I unplug the iPod & plug it back in the deleted stuff is still there.
The first time it happened I restored the iPod to its original settings & that seemed to cure it but the error has recurred. I don't want to restore it every time I plug it in!
Any ideas or should I just take it back?

Apple are working on a permanent solution for this so hopefully we'll see a firmware update to fix the bug soon. In the meantime their advice is to change the Time Zone settings on your Mac to Pacific Standard Time (PST), restore the iPod and then change the time setting back: iTunes for Mac reports a -48 error during iPod sync

Slow Wi-Fi on brand new iMac

Hey all,
Recently just purchased a brand new iMac, very excited as its literaly my first Mac computer ever.
However, when I switched it on and started playing with it, i realised the speed of Wi-Fi is atrocious, compared to my windows laptop sitting next to me.
Some trouble shooting that i've performed already:
Changed locations
Disabled ethernet and firewire
Changed DNS
Resetted modem
Any more suggestions and help would be great!

Try a different Channel on Airport.
Open Airport Utility /Applications/Utilities
Select the device on the left then click Manual Setup.
Then select AirPort from the menu then select the Wireless tab.
Try Automatic. If that doesn't help, click that pop up menu and try another channel.
Then click Update.

Shuffle Volume not decreasing BRAND NEW

My brand-new iPod touch (5th Gen) battery takes a very long time to fully charge, even while not in use. Why is this and what should I do?

Just recently bought a brand-new iPod touch, 5th generation. To be exact, got it two days ago, this past Saturday, on 12/13/2014. Initially, when I first turned it on, it had a fully charge and I didn't need to charge it. I also didn't see anything in the very small and limited start-up guide you receive with it to charge it for a certain amount of time before use, or to use it until the battery dies, then charge all the way, like a lot of electronic devices have you do when you first purchase them.
So I was assuming I didn't need to do anything like that. First question, should I have charged it for a period of time before use? Should I have used it until the battery died, then plugged it in and charged it fully before use? Or is none of this necessary initially and iPod batteries are good to go from the start?
Please excuse me if this is an obvious question, as this is my first ever iPod. Anyways,like I said, nothing in the "instructions" said anything about that, so I didn't do it, I just used it until it got below 20% battery left, then I plugged it in.
Now for the battery itself, it takes literally a day or so to fully charge, even while not in use. Even if I use it for a while, turn off the iPod to make sure it shuts off all background data and apps, and then plug it in to charge, it still charges extremely slowly. I've never seen a device take this long to charge. As for the battery life itself, I'd say at full charge it lasts about 4-5 hrs, maybe 6, and then I have to charge it again. Meanwhile it takes around 24 hours, without me using it, to fully charge. If I use it while its charging, the battery decreases faster than it charges, and eventually I'll get the typical "20% battery remaining" message pop up.
I know it is charging, as the lightning symbol is next to the battery symbol. Specifically, right now, I plugged it in about 1 hr 30 minutes ago, and it has barely gone up. Also, whenever I press the home button to check the battery, I can see it jump down from about 50% to somewhere around 25%-30%. What is that about?
This is really frustrating, and I'm seriously contemplating either taking it back and trying my luck with a different iPod, or just taking it back and getting my money back. Any help and clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated, and I'll answer any questions I can to shed more light on this.

In turning the Macbook and monitor on, the monitor displays very well, but within a few minutes it begins this incessant blinking (temporary black out of the screen that lasts anywhere from 1-5 seconds). This has been going on for a long time (it also happended with my older monitor which apparantly I threw out when I should have kept it thinking it was the problem). From reading various blogs in the Apple support community, this appears to be a widespread problem, but I don't find a solution, only a lot of speculation. I'm very surprised the Apple folks haven't figured this out. As a new Apple user, heretofor, I have been very impressed with the support and effort to get fixes out to users. This, however, has me frustrated to the point of junking my Mac and going back to a PC. I love the Macbook Air and most of the functionality, but I cannot function without an external monitor. Your dsplay is getting extended onto the external monitor. Chcnage the setting to duplicate it or only display on the external monitor and you should be fine,

Ifeel miserable after trying out all the options changed multiple sims, tried multiple carriers, restored the phone back and have set-up as new device but the problem does not get solved... its is so frustrating that after investing on a world's most expensive phone you cannot enjoy the calling features which the phone offers which is the main thing you own the phone for.. Rest of the things are working.. The funniest part I am not able to make calls or receive calls but can access the internet.. Does it mean one should never update software as I hear that after updating to IOS.5.1 the problem has started coming and same has been with there.... Apple says its a hardware failure which is very difficult to digest as sometimes I get 5 bars and able to make and receive calls but 95% of the time I am unable to.
