Broadband Issues and a Noisey Line.

OK first post so ill lay this out best i can.
Just moved home and now have BT for the the phone line, Broadband and BT Vision.
Now when they line was activated speeds were all over anything from 4meg - 8meg at any time, I know there is a settling in period however the line itself had plenty of static on the dial tone. So I checked the stats on the Bt Hub however i can only get the downstream/upstream info and connection time. Bit annoying that i cant find exact stats to view the line attenuation, anway.
Over a couple of days the connection time was constantly being reset and the Downstream value was decreasing so unsure of quality of installation in the property i had a look and removed numerous extended boxes and brought the Master Socket to the main cable in. Since then the noise on the line has gone and the Hub has maintained its connection for 4 days now. I also removed the powerline adapter for the BT vision since the BB being recieved is well unsuitable to stream anything it seemed pointless leaving it in if its possible to cause issues.
Now my query is this because of the first week of D/c and very noisey line will my BB have been banded by the equipment at the exchange? Is it possible to reset this so it can go thru the tests to see if i can recieve greater speeds?
Just seems odd that in the first few days i was getting higher speeds like 4-8meg and now my downstream is capped at 2meg. Yet at the worst point prior to removing unecesary boxes and extensions i was as low as 500kbps.
On a 2nd note how do i view further connection stats on a BTHub 4 ?
Apologies for the wall of text.

After about 2 weeks of using my GS60, I began to notice that the screen sometimes flickered, and on other occasions horizontal black lines would appear. I have updated my GTX driver to the latest version, and I haven't been able to find any help on the net. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Hi!!! I'm Manuel from Argentina. I bought a MSI GS60 in miami 5 months ago, and... I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!! sometimes mi screen is flashing and appeared horizontal lines  (blacks).
There's no solution for this problem? it's a very expensive laptop.

  • Possibility of reversing Goods issue and delivery of one line item

    Hi experts,
Is there a possibility of reversing Goods issue for only one line item and also the delviery for that line item so that i can make changes in the sales order for that line item only.
    Appreciate your response.
    Regards,
    krishna

    Hi Laxmipathi & Rithvika,
Basically the issue is in the sales order there are around 90 line items out of which most of them has been processed the delivery and GI and even invoices has been made for some.
While doing so, there are about 5-6 delivery docs has been created for the 90 line items.
Now, we need to change some data for few line items , for this we dont want to do reversal for all the line items and again do a delivery and PGI as these line items are in various delivery docs.
Let me know , if there is anyother way of doing it or we should follow the normal process of doing it all again.
    Regards,
    krishna

  • My iMac display occasionally flashes green and purple horizontal lines... is anyone else having this issue, or know of a fix?

The screen occasionally flashes purple and green horizontal lines across it. Then the buttons on the left side of my menu bar turn fuzzy, and when I click on them they become black rectangles with green and purple lines running thru them. The dock also has a hint of green and purple in it. And some of the shadows around application windows are just black outlines, instead of gradiating shadows. Is this happening to anyone else? Does anyone have a fix? I read about the other supposed graphics issues, but I think they're unrelated, or at least left unfixed by the firmware update.

All Macs come with a one year limited warranty.

According to the link I posted for the AHT..

  • BT Infinity issues and only been with them since 4...

I have been so looking forward to faster broadband, religously checking the availability of infinity for my area for months and eventually hey-ho here it is. After having a HH3 on BT BB for years and not a single issue I thought awesome same reliability and faster too.        How could I be so wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!    I have had BT Infinity for 13 days.
Day.1: The line started out at 79Mb (300 metres from street cabinet) really good performance.
Day.2 Line still fast but orange light on HH5 periodically. (still it is training isn't it?)
Day.3 The line keep dropping out more and more. Fast when it works though!
Day.4 Keep getting resolving host issues and line droppping out??? (still it is training isn't it?)
Day.5 My daughter is asking to put the old one back on as she is going into facebook withdrawal
Day.6 I am thinking of putting the old one back in. Line droppping in and out. Checked the speed still good 76Mb.
Day.7 I am beginning to get disillusioned by this infinty business. The desktop help keeps telling me to call support as it cannot fix my problem. (still it is training isn't it?)
Day.8 Beginning to think this was a BIG MISTAKE! Still fast when it works 75Mb
Day.9 Very frustrated called BT customer support. They performed some tests and tell me the HH5 is knacked.
Day.10 & 11 More of the same. (still it is training isn't it?)
Day.12 Replacement HH5 turned up re-connect. Speed is 63Mb and after 2 hours exactly the same as the previous.
Orange lights, rsolving host issues and dropped connections. Called customer support. They performed the same tests and told me no fault and 63Mb is what I should be getting?.After getting 75Mb with a broken HH5, I was expecting at least the same. They also told me they could not reset the BB profile to re-train the line even though the HH5 was faulty?
Day.13 I am awaiting a call from customer support manager who will tell me that nothing is wrong. WTF is going on BT?

A quick update. Got a call back from customer services and they have now found a fault on the network. Funny that!! Watch this space.

  • Broadband issues

I have spoken to BT multiple times regarding this issue and as of yet after 3 months of trying have not managed to get it resolved.
I took on a new business and the owner of the building already had 3 phone lines so I agreed to take one of these off him and at the same time i also arranged for a broadband account on the line, I was using a Bt business hub (I actually have 2 but they are both the same results wise)
Issue 1 - If I use any router other than a BT homehub 2, my line only syncs at 8mb despite me being on ADSL2+ and 400 yards from my exchange, however with the homehub 2 I get 24mb sync speed, but still only 448 upload sync speed.
    Issue 2 - 448K upload sync speed
I called BT who admitted that a fault was present and sent out an engineer who could not find any fault, he tried a brand new homehub 3 and a brand new business router neither of which would sync at the higher speed, he couldnt explain this neither he nor any of the "tech support" I speak to have apparently ever heard of this issue before.
What he did say though is that the line stats indicate that my line is capped and I should ring and ask for the cap to be removed, anyone I speak to is adamant that the upload speed has not been capped and the best offer I have had so far is to set the line back to the 10 day training period, which I accepted and it made no difference.
The homehub 2 is to be quite blunt rubbish, I don't like them, the menus are not user friendly, getting simple information out of it takes far to long and it is SLOW.
I ran a speed test last night on the BT speedchecker site and results are as below
Download speedachieved during the test was - 19248 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 4000-21000 Kbps.
    Additional Information:
    Your DSL Connection Rate :23896 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 443 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 21083 Kbps
    >Upload speed achieved during the test was - 366 Kbps
    Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 443 Kbps
I have also recorded the line stats from my router which indicate no faults or issues and I should be getting over a 1mb connection up, results as below
    ADSL line status
    Connection information
    Line state Connected
    Connection time 42 days, 1:27:50
    Downstream 23,896 Kbps

  • Ongoing Broadband Issue - Any help would be much a...

    Hi,
I have had an ongoing issue with broadband speed for the last few months. I have spent hours on the phone to BT but I am still not getting anywhere. Everytime I report a slow speed (as in IP Profile of 135 and download speed of ~ 80mbps) I am assured by the technical team that they will resolve it once and for all, but everytime I am told they have reset things, changed the channel etc and I have to wait anything from 48hrs to 15 days. The speed will then improve for a bit before going back down again. I have had an engineer out who has found no issues but did replace the front of the main socket with a new one with a built in filter.
I only have the one main socket in the house and I have the bt home hub plugged in and my main phone plugged in to it.
Other things I have noticed are that there is a constant fuzzy noise on the phone line (although this disappeared instantly when I had to switch off the hub for one of the tests BT did). Often when using the phone I can hear a dial up noise in the background. And finally I have also noticed that if I'm online and then use the phone, I will very often lose my internet connection. When I hang up the internet connection is restored.
All of this seems to suggest a filter problem maybe? But I have tried 3 different microfilters and the new built in filter and the problem has been ongoing throughout.
I have tried to explain all of this to the offshore technical team, but instead of listening, they just tell me that they can fix my speed issue and I should rest assured that it will not occur again. I have supposedly spoken to managers and supervisors who will personally deal with it, and have even been promised a line upgrade and a 34M connection which was supposed to be active yesterday with a call last night to check but still nothing and no call (again).
Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can progress this? I have had the connection 7 months so am still under contract so I am stuck with BT for the next 5 months at least. I am just not sure what to try next.
    Many thanks
    Lisa

ok no problems can you please do the following things they will help in sorting out your problems
If you post the full stats from your router
For homehub – type 192.168.1.254 into your browser
Navigate to ADSL Settings or use the A-Z at the top right of the home page and scroll down to ADSL Settings and click on it
Click on More Details and then post the full results.
And post the full results from http://speedtester.bt.com/
can you also do the bt quiet line test dial 17070 select option 2 you should hear no noise post back those results as well and will then be able to advise further

  • Still Getting Buffering Issues and Slow Web Page L...

Since I suspect this issue hasn't gone away - and I/we have been asked to post issues individually rather than clumping into a single tread.
I just got back from Spain and after quizzing family it seems we are still getting Stream Buffering Issues (again)  (requires a refresh restart << I suspect lost packets rather than speed decrease) and webpages sometimes don't load correctly and require a refresh to load all page elements.
Just before I left there was an Openreach engineer working on the CAB and my noise margin doubled (but given my distance from the CAB and no speed issues I think the higher margin is a bonus not a negative << so hard to get uncontradictary posts or guidance on the web about Noise Margins - speeds still ok atm according to BTW but havent been back long enough to monitor thru the day/night.
I can only assume there are still backhaul issues ongoing.
I notice other ISP forums eg Plusnet noting capacity contention issues but BT remains Silent.
It's such a shame BT aren't more forthcoming to their customers and I feel really cheated/mis-sold by the whole Infinity 2 product 'never have to buffer again' - advertising hype. This has been a problem here since mid December - so we're talking a month worth of connection issues.
Since someone will probably ask me for HH stats - here you go - apologies to all those more than 20m from the CAB who are struggling on much slower speeds (I feel for you honest) and in terms of the available speeds etc feel this HAS TO BE a BTW backhaul issue - be it from exchange or in the core.
    I'm all open to comment/solutions

Short answer Ray - nope I only use WiFi on the phone.
Well for the benefit of others as much as myself I am still having issues and gave up on an iPlayer (live stream) due several bursts of buffering again tonight which made me miss the bits I was really interested in.
    So...
Eliminating anything in the home the following tests are done directly into the HH5s Gb port. I normally use a switch in this port to seperate my PC's from iThings and anything else on WiFi  (the kids)(BTFon/X) - never had any issues with my switch tho and it will push pull files to/from my NAS or transfer files around my three PCs at full speed << so no concerns there, but NOT used in these tests.
All wired with industry Grade CAT6 << even ran a checker tool on it and no probs << yip I have such things available.
Following Stats are after a complete shut down :
PC Restarted without Firewall or any AntiVirus - no other network connections active and HH5 WiFi Dissabled. HH5 Power Off and Factory Reset (I've tried previously as suggested by other posters using the Openreach modem but since it didnt solve anything just went back to the HH5 to save a power socket and my HH5 can stay up for 13 or so days without issues so I don't suffer in disconnection issues dept). Ok i could buy another router but I doubt its the problem and im just **bleep** away cash for what would then be a replacement for 'not fit for purpose' supplied equipment.
Quiet Line test = clear << tested master socket with wired phone.
    My Cabinet :
    BTWholesale Speed Test :
Interestingly i'm getting way lower UPLOAD than the minimum even on an impaired line (I'm only about 20m from the cabinet as the cable runs - less if I want to kick it) << this does seem to fluctate a lot.
    TBB Speedtest :
I'm open to suggestions but have just about had enuff...
I still maintain this is a congeston issue but that BT are in total denial to customers about what traffic shaping occurs to maintain the QoS for their YouView and BTSports Customers at the expense of other data under 'abnormal conditions' like lack of capacity.
So unless a MOD wants to jump in and resolve this quickly, I have several letters ready to go to various parts of BT - Customer Complaints/Sales(for misleading claims)/and Legal Dept. Just need the stamps + a cc copy to Ofcom. This is the last phase of having done ALL I CAN BE REASONABLY EXPECTED TO DO through the BTs compaints proceedures. so that I can send a breach of contract notification to escape this madness.
Yours xx, a very dissatisfied customer.

  • Internet/ Broadband Issues

I have a BT router that allows me to use the internet anywhere in my home. Its gotten into the habit of losing broadband connection randomly, then turning on again. Also if the phone rings, it will turn off too. I need to use the internet frequently as i am a student and need to revise for exams and such, and when im not studying, i like to spend my time on my xbox. But due to bad connections i cant play online properly. My parents also have set up an office next door to my house (off the same phone wire) and they have BT broadband too, yet whenever the phone rings the internet is fine for them. In the office i can watch a 25 minute long clip on the internet without any buffering issues, whereas in my own home i have to wait 20 minutes for a 3 minute clip to buffer. This can't be right surely? Can anyone help? Please?

Indeed,  but I was thinking along the lines of...well if his bb is not good at streaming....and his phone drops the con....if it was 1 broadband loop, they wouldn;t be able to stream either...coz the IP and throughput would be on the floor.. unless of course they were just lucky, and there weren't enough drops to erode the IP profile.

  • Can you help me fix my screen? It randomly has a bluish tint, bad resolution and horizontal flashing lines

    Hi all,
    It's a 15" 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo MBP running on Leopard 10.5.8, bought spring 2008.
About a couple of weeks ago, my screen started randomly switching to a strange blue / purple tint along with a bad resolution (can't really read text on screen) and flashing horizontal lines in the background. It started worrying me given I'm working with it all the time and am hoping for this machine to hold on for a few more months until I can buy a new one.
It would happen randomly for a few minutes at a time and then revert back to normal screen.
I found a lot of references to a similar problem in a few threads such as this one:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1456983?tstart=0
My screen has gone strange again now and isn't reverting back to normal so far even after I tried  restarting it. It was normal for 2 min only ans then back to bluish. I tried all the display fixes indicated in the threads but none of them work and I'm not exactly sure my issue is the same given I can still see the tint and horizontal lines in particular if the screen saver goes on, and the resolution on screenshots I've seen of other people having blue tint screen issues seems to be normal (as in text is legible).
Any ideas on how to fix it? Do you think it might be more of a software or hardware problem..? Would it help if I try upgrading my Mac OS?
Thank you very much for your time

Thanks a lot for the reply, I was worried would say that outright. Screen just only reverted back to normal after a couple of hours. As you said probably best to bring it in for diagnosis, I'll try to do that asap though of course I'm nowhere neaar any AASP at the moment.

  • Issues with adding a line....

Can someone PLEASE give me some course of action to take here. I feel extremely frustrated and upset with Verizon, and none of the reps seem to want to be of any assistance at all……
Recently, my wife and I decided that it was time to consolidate our phones to one carrier. She previously had AT&T, and I have had Verizon for 11+ years. After calling and talking to SEVERAL Verizon reps, and insuring that my current features and promos would NOT change if I added my wife’s phone to my account, we went ahead and ported her line to Verizon. This is where all the issues begin.
To begin with, I called and talked to two different Verizon reps, who assured me that if I were to change my plan to a family share plan, I would CONTINUE receiving all discounts and promotions that I was already receiving on my primary line. They did note that some of these discounts would not be available to my “new” line, which was understandable, but again I was assured that I wouldn’t lose ANY promotions. The promotions that I am referring to are as follows:
    18% Access Discount
    Unlimited Email & Web
    5 Friends and Family
Talk & Text Plus Data $20 Disc
Within the first week of adding my wife’s phone to my account, I noticed that I had indeed lost the “Talk & Text Plus Data $20 Disc”. I immediately called Verizon and inquired about why this promotion was lost, and I got several different arguments and rebuttals from the Verizon reps. The responses spanned the gamut of “There was never a $20 Disc on your account” to “That discount was only valid for 1 year upon enrolling”. I referred all the reps to the notes on my account that were written by the previous reps who assured me that this specific promo would remain. I also went as far as reading them the information I have on the promo stating that as long as I remain in a qualified plan, the $20 promo would remain for life. I was then told there was nothing they could do, and was transferred to “Loyalty”.
Once transferred to “Loyalty” I talked to a very nice rep, who pulled up the information on the discount and assured me AGAIN that I was eligible for this promotion and she put in what is called an “Inactive Pricing Request” form to have the promotion reinstated on my account. She also assured me that in the event that the promotion was not immediately applied to my account, she would set my account up for review when the new bill came out, and she would personally issue me the $20 credit.
To make a long story short, my new bill came, and there was no new credit. I called Verizon back, and asked to speak to “Loyalty”, and the rep gave me some run around about not being able to send me directly to loyalty without him attempting to help me first. Finally after a 10 – 15 minute conversation he transferred me to Loyalty. This time, the Loyalty rep told me that I was NOT eligible for the promotion. I had her review all the notes on my account from the previous rep, and she verified that red assured me I was eligible, had put in the inactive pricing request, and assured me she would give me the $20 credit if the promotion wasn’t added. The rep then told me that the other rep had bold-faced lied to me and she would be filing a complaint with her supervisor. I requested to speak to her supervisor.
Her supervisor got on the line and stated that she was aware of the situation, there was nothing that they could do, and that the other reps that assured me I was still eligible for the promotion would get complaints filed through their supervisors for inaccuracy. I asked this rep to EMAIL the last Loyalty rep that assisted me and have her call me. She obliged, and within 15 minutes I was back on the phone with the ORIGINAL Loyalty rep.
The ORIGINAL Loyalty rep reviewed all the new comments on my account, and AGAIN assured me that I was STILL ELIGIBLE for the promotion, and she was going to “escalate” the inactive pricing request. She also told me that she had discussed my situation with her supervisor, and after reading the promotion details he too agreed that I was eligible for the promo. She assured me that I would hear back from them regarding the status of the promotion being added back to my account before my bill due date.
Upon reviewing my bill I noticed that it was extremely high. Upon calling Verizon AGAIN, it was disclosed to me that since my wife’s number was ported into Verizon from AT&T, and they gave her a temporary number to use until the number was ported over, I was being billed TWO $35 line activation fees. One for her actual ported line, and the other for the “temporary number” that was only in existence for 1 hour, and never even used. Needless to say upon review, that $35 was credited back to me.
My dilemma now is what do I do? Even though several Verizon reps assured me that my discounts would remain, at least one of them didn’t. Since I have spent so much time fighting with Verizon reps on the phone, and awaiting my new bill, we are past the time to be able to cancel my wife’s line and revert everything back to the way it was. The benefit of this promotion was that I received a $20/mo discount through the life of my contract, with no end date. I have yet to hear back from the ORIGINAL Verizon Loyalty rep even though I have had her emailed again to contact me, and all the other Reps claim there is nothing that can be done, and I should’ve taken measures prior to upgrading to ensure my promotions would remain.

If you want consistent answers, always ask for official written documentation.  For instance, you can read the Terms & Conditions of service on this website, and you should also recieve a copy when you sign a contract in store.  Verizon has too many employees to be able to train them all perfectly, and then you can add in the inconsistency from all the different distribution channels (premium retailers, third party retailers like Amazon and Best Buy, etc.).  Should they strive for it?  Absolutely.  Will that help you as a customer when you get a dumb or new rep? Nope.  So help yourself, get your information in writing or don't believe what you hear.
While in theory this is a great idea, the problem lies with Verizon once again. When talking to the Verizon reps who tell me my account doesn't qualify, and they are able to "quote" to me the reasons from the promotional documentation, when I request they send me written proof of why I don't qualify, I get the reply "We can't release internal Verizon documents to the public." I quote them what the documentation I have states, and they claim their documentation is different, yet they aren't allowed to release any documentation proving my account is in fact ineligible.
Also, when requesting documentation as to why the "inactive pricing request" was denied, the response I get is that my account is not eligible. I ask for documentation and get the reply that the "inactive pricing requests" are done by a third party that is not affiliated with Verizon, and they can't release those documents to me either.
It seems a little odd to me that they have all this documentation that conflicts with all the information I have, yet they can't provide me proof of anything that is being said. The problem is they want you to think you are wrong. They want you to second guess yourself and hope you give up. It is much easier to tell a customer "No", rather then take the time to fix the issues at hand.

  • Compilation of Lenovo X120e issues and solutions

Just thought a compilation of issues may be beneficial for folks who own an X120e.
Screen adjusts brightness automatically without user input depending on content on screen:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X100e-screen-brightness-increasing-by-itself/td...
This is caused by Vari-Bright being enabled in the Catalyst Control Center.  With this option enabled, the screen will automatically adjust its brightness depending on what is shown on the screen.  The display brightness is increased when the screen is predominantly white while the display brightness is decreased when the screen is predominantly dark.  An easiest way to see this effect happening is to have two tabs opened in a web browser window.  Set one tab to display a website that is mainly filled with white pixels (such as this Lenovo Forum) and another tab to display a website that is mainly filled with dark pixels (such as http://www.krijtenberg.nl/ ).  Switch between the two, pausing a few seconds in each tab.
    Solution:
Open the Catalyst Control Center and select the PowerPlay option in the Power section.  Uncheck the Vari-Bright option (or adjust the slider) and click Apply.  Verify that the automatic adjustment is no longer occuring by doing the two tab experiment described above.
Function keys for brightness control not working after waking from sleep / hibernation in some instances:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-Funtion-keys-for-brightness-not-working/t...
For my X120e, whenever I have it sleeping or hibernating and change the power source (such as initiating sleep when on power and then waking it up while on battery, or vice versa), the function keys for brightness controls do not work.
    Solution:
Restarting the machine will bring back functionality of the brightness control keys...
A way to prevent this from happening in the first place is to wake the X120e in the same power state that the X120e was put to sleep in (wake up from power adapter if slept while connected to power adapter, or wake up from battery if slept while on battery).
All we can do now is wait for Lenovo to come up with a fix on their side of things.
AMD SATA Controller and TRIM for SSD:
The AMD SATA Controller provided by Lenovo does not support passing of TRIM command according to http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/450343-post35.html for SSDs.  The Lenovo provided AMD SATA Controller is 1.2.1.197, before the official TRIM support in 1.2.1.263.  If you're using a HDD, this is of no concern.
    Solution:
In order to have support for passing of TRIM command, one has to update the AMD SATA Controller to any version above 1.2.1.263 ( http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/integrated_win7-64.aspx#3 for Windows 7 64-bit, for example) or uninstall the AMD SATA Controller to revert back to Microsoft's Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller.
Disclaimer:  Since the AMD SATA Controller driver linked is not from Lenovo themselves, I'm sure they won't provide any support if something is to occur so try at your own risk.
As HP79 mentions below, at least according to the update notes, TRIM implementation is implemented for Hudson chipsets as of 1.2.001.263.
Audio Stutter / Slurring occuring during playback of video/audio:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-Stuttering-Audio/td-p/389023
This issue can be reproduced (at least on my X120e) by waking the X120e after putting it to sleep.  The symptom is the audio repeating a sound over a span of a second or two during playback and is quite noticable.
    Solution:
uEFI Bios version 1.11 seems to deal with the audio stuttering issue.  So far, results lead to positive outcomes.
    Old Solution:
PWMTR64V.DLL that is loaded at Startup seems to be causing this issue.  Disabling it from launching when starting up seems to cure the Audio Stutter (even after waking up from sleep which was seen to be a pretty reliable way to get the issue to repro).  Start Menu > Launch MSCONFIG from the Search Bar > Select Startup Tab from the System Configuration window > Uncheck Thinkpad Power Manager > Restart.
This does not seem to turn off the power manager application itself so settings in Power Manager can be saved and it seems to still be in effect.  However, opening up Power Manager from the notification / taskbar can cause audio stuttering and mouse movement slowdown while it is launching and/or when applying settings.  This is only temporary and is gone when Power Manager is closed. (Thanks kns7977 for the find)
Pending to see if those who uninstalled Power Manager are able to turn off the offending startup .dll.
Mouse seems to stutter or stay in place for a moment when moving:
This seems to be caused by the same issue causing the Audio Stutter / Slurring.  At least at this time, the cause of the issue and solution seems to be the same.
Emulating Middle Mouse Button with Trackpoint:
One can set up the middle button between the left and right click button for the TrackPoint to act like pressing a middle mouse button on a standard mouse by changing the scrolling type to Smooth instead of the default Standard.
Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Mouse > UltraNav Tab > Setting for TrackPoint > Setting for Choose Scrolling or Magnifying Glass Function > Smooth.
Trackpad's two finger gesture being hit or miss:
The trackpad's two finger scrolling is very hit and miss.
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X120e-Touchpad-issues/td-p/393751
Solution: Turning off Gesture Filtering may alleviate the problem.  As mentioned in http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo-ibm/561751-x120e-owners-thread-24.html#post7323293, it seems that the Gesture Filtering is counteracting any sort of two finger input.
Get to Mouse Properties by Fn + F8, select Manage Settings.  At Mouse Properties, select the UltraNav tab > Settings for TouchPad.  Expand the Smart Check Settings, highlight Gesture Filtering, and uncheck the Enable Gesture Filtering box and Apply.
    Screen flickers lines:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-Flickering/td-p/389523
Had this issue occur on me once, but never seen it happen again.  Unsure what caused or cured it.
    Solution:
If the flickering is occuring, a restart is all that is needed to alleviate the problem.  Haven't tested if hibernation fixes it, but neither sleep nor turning off the screen with the Power Manager dealt with the flickering.
3-Cell Battery mentioned as a 40Wh in the Order Page of Lenovo X120e when it is actually rated as 32Wh according to Power Manager:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X120e-3-cell-40Wh-battery-reported-as-32Wh-by-P...
    Yeah...
    Solution:
Accept that it's a 32Wh you will get when selecting 3-Cell or go for the 6-Cell if you want more than 32Wh.
2x2 ABGN Driver from Lenovo triggering Error Code 10:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X120e-ABGN-Driver-issue-in-Windows-7-Pro-x64/td...
The Wireless driver from Lenovo's site seems to not work with the 2x2 ABGN wireless when installed on a fresh copy of Windows 7 x64.
    Solution:
Not really quite a solution, but one can bypass this by either installing the 32-bit Windows 7 and installing the 32-bit driver, or using the factory recovery disc to install 64 bit windows 7 to have it install drivers that work for x64 windows 7.
X120e bluescreens after installing LAN Realtek 7.26.902.2010 drivers from Lenovo's Driver download site.
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-bluescreen-when-installing-lan-drivers/td...
The drivers doesn't seem to work and it causes a bluescreen on fresh installed Windows 7 x64.
    Solution:
As Clicq suggests, Realtek's own drivers from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTy... seems to deal with the issue.
    Screen quality on the X120e:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-poor-LCD-quality-viewing-angles/td-p/3945...
The quality of the screen on an X120e is below expectations.
This is common with low-quality TN panels not helped by glossy displays.  My personal X120e screen likes to bleed certain colors of red.
    Solution (not really):
One can use the Windows 7 built-in color calibration tool to adjust the colors to make it more tolerable.  Adjusting your own viewing angle in relation to the screen might deal with some color issues (hard to figure out what's the correct viewing angle because of TN panel's small range of optimal viewing angles).  Also, changing the refresh rate to 60Hz may deal with some headaches due to the screen (as it did for me).
    HDMI Overscan to HDTV issue:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/HDMI-overscan-to-HDTV-issue-on-x120e/m-p/395335
There is a black border when outputting to HDTV through HDMI.
    Solution:
AMD's CCC by default sets a specific value for overscan / underscan.  One can http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/Output-to-TV-via-HDMI-port-black-border-on-the-... while the device is connected via HDMI (the option is hidden if the HDMI port is not used) and adjust the slider to an acceptable value.
Skype asserts after 10-20 seconds of video chat:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-Skype-quits-after-10-20-seconds-of-video/...
When doing a video chat, the video feed will freeze and then skype will crash to desktop.
    Solution:
Version 5.3 of Skype seems to be the culprit.  Until Skype itself is fixed, one can use Skype 5.2.60.113 from http://www.filehippo.com/download_skype/changelog/9465/ to bypass this issue.  Just reject any offer to update to 5.3 after installing 5.2, for now.
If there is anything I missed, please respond and I'll update this post with new information.  These are the ones that I have encountered so far with my Lenovo X120e.  Don't get me wrong, I like my X120e... it's just been a "learning" experience lol

    Remarks
    1.1
Pasting of regular text results in double-line spacing. Pasting of code with Syntax Highlighting does not produce double-line spacing, but includes line numbers when pasting in a rich text editor window, or results in indented lines when pasting to the command prompt or plain text window.
    1.2
Pasting of code with Syntax Highlighting includes line numbers when pasting into notepad or to the command prompt. Copying of normal text does not wrap and appears a single line when pasting into notepad.
    3.1
Selecting of code and copying works, but selected text looks like a tape and is not visible.
    5.1
Copy works find and does not include line numbers, but the text is indented.
When pasting text into a rich text enabled editor window, it includes line numbers.
    5.2
Code in syntax highlighting does not copy blank lines, but copies line numbers.
    6.1
Only parts of a code segment can be copied, but not the complete code segment. Copy and paste always copies an additional line that was actually not selected.
    6.3
Copy and paste only copies the code but not syntax highlighting, which can however be can be re-applied.
    8.1
Applying syntax highlighting now applies a font that is suitable for displaying code.
However, it is not possible to change the font, if necessary, or apply color or bold or highlighting. Color can be applied, which looks like double-vision, but anyway is removed when posting.
    10.1
Not working reliably. Sometimes the last line selected is not changed, or only the first line changes.
    11.1
Sometimes fonts are not displayed properly, for instance, the text insertion point may show Arial, but the text is Courier. There is no clear pattern when this happens or what triggers the problem.
    11.3
The text insertion point or selected text always reports the font name "font family", regardless of the font applied.
    15.1
Ctrl-z aborting editor functions under Firefox on Mac OS X. However, Cmd-z, which is standard, works properly. This problem does not affect Safari.
    Issue
    Steps to reproduce
    Workaround
    1
Copy a couple or more lines of text from a discussion window and paste it into any application or document on your host system. For instance:
The following may produce double line spacing:
If there are two or more ways to do something, and one of those
ways can result in a catastrophe, then someone will do it.
    The following should work correctly:
If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will
cause the most damage will be the first one to go wrong
Use Shift-Return instead of Return to terminate the end of lines when creating text.
Use a different browser to perform cut and paste operations, such as Apple Safari or Google Chrome.
    2
Paste some text code into the forum editor window. Select the code and choose Syntax Highlighting:Plain from the editor toolbar (>>). Close and re-edit the thread. It is not possible to place the insertion point below the block of code in order to add any additional lines of code or to add any normal text. For instance:
    mknod compress_pipe p
    mknod export_pipe p
    chmod +rw export_pipe compress_pipe
    nohup split -b 8192m < export_pipe &
    nohup gzip < compress_pipe > export_pipe &
    exp system/passwd full=y direct=y consistent=y compress=n \
    buffer=10485760 file=compress_pipe
It is possible to insert additional code or text below Syntax Highlighting, provided the frame it is not the end, as shown in issue 7.
Add any line of text at the end of your code before applying Syntax Highlighting to the lines above.
Adding code within the frame of Syntax Highlighting works in Safari and Google Chrome.
    3
Re-edit a post with Syntax Highlighting. It is not possible to properly select any lines of code. An additional empty code line is added and the focus is shifted. The selection mask does not match the actual text. It is pretty much impossible to re-edit Syntax Highlighting.
    Screenshot: http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/6121/viun.jpg
Use Safari or Google Chrome when to re-edit text or code under Syntax Highlighting.
    4
Every subsequent edit of a post with Syntax Highlighting adds an empty blank line to the code block with an incremented line number. The resulting empty lines (07, 08) shown in the screenshot cannot be selected or removed unless there is text below the code frame as shown in issue 7. Screenshot: http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/5514/cxkd.jpg
Removing of empty lines woks in Safari and Google Chrome.
    5
When browsing code with Syntax Highlighting, it is not possible to select the code without the line numbers. Screenshot: http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/6626/j7n7.jpg
Select and copy each line separately. Or use Firefox or Google Chrome, but note issue in Remark 5.
    6
When editing, it is possible to copy and paste lines under Syntax Highlighting when selecting the lines, but not when selecting the complete Syntax Highlighting frame.
Carefully select text without the Syntax Highlighting frame boundaries.
    7
Empty lines and white space (identation) in Syntax Highlighting are suppressed when browsing, although they exist in the actual post. For instance:
    mknod compress_pipe p
       mknod export_pipe p
Screenshot when editing the above code:
    http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/673/kmy4.jpg
    8
Syntax Highlighting changes the font to Arial and it is not possible to apply something more suitable for the displaying of code, such as fixed-width Courier New.
    mknod compress_pipe p
    Arial: 1l0OI
    Courier New: 1l0OI
    Arial: 1l0OI
    Courier New: 1l0OI
    9
It is not possible to paste any text into the editor window.
Use a different web browser or downgrade to IE 10.
Or enable F12 Developer Tools from the Tools menu. Press Ctrl-8
Change the default document mode from Edge to IE 10. Select Leave this page.
    10
Create a new thread and type several lines of text. Then select select several lines of text and choose a font, e.g. Courier New. Not all selected lines are changed and only a couple of lines remain highlighted. For instance:
It is difficult to prove the existence of aliens.
Photos exist with aliens, but they could be fake.
On the other hand, photos without aliens could be fake too.
    11
Select a line of text and change the font to Courier New. Then select the line again and it will show Arial. Change the font to Courier New and the text will change back to Arial.
    12
Copy a URL and paste it into the editor window. The URL will be shown as a hyperlink using blue text. It is not possible to continue with normal writing without changing the text of the link. The text insertion point is captured inside the text of the link when trying to click below the link.
After pasting the URL, use the arrow key or mouse to move the cursor to the end of the link, then press RETURN and start writing normally. You can than move the cursor to the beginning of the line and use BACKSPACE to move the text up, after the link.
    13
When replying to a thread and pressing the Quote Previous Message button and then clicking inside the quoted text, for instance, to remove some of the content, it is sometimes no longer possible to move the text insertion point outside of the quoted text back to the normal editing area.
When this happens it helps to switch to HTML and then switch back to the Full Editor.
    14
While writing normal text in the editor, it sometimes becomes impossible to edit a line of text. When clicking on any text to move the text insertion point, it selects the complete paragraph instead. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/585/d0v5.jpg. When pressing the "Post Message" button, a dialog appears to "Stay" or "Leave" the page.
Apparently the editor adds HTML label tags for no apparent reason, which can be seen when switching the editor to HTML mode. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/199/1r5a.jpg
    15
Copy some text into the editor window. Select the text and choose Syntax Highlighting form the >> insert toolbar. Undo using Ctrl-z. It is no longer possible to use any of the >> insert functions. After that it is also not possible to post the message, resulting in an unexpected error and the content is lost.
    16
Syntax Highlighting shows several <span> at the beginning and end of the Syntax Highlighting block after posting. This affects old and new posts.
    17
When changing the width of a table column, entering the 2nd number gets punched into the cell content instead.
After entering the first number, click in the entry field again to enter the 2nd number.
    18
    19
Automatic insertion of links to support.oracle.com contains more info, including responses from Oracle staff.
    20
Change the width of browser window until the editor toolbar appears. It will then stay on top when scrolling through pages.
    21
Select Syntax Highlighting, Plain from the >> insert menu, then copy and past several lines of text (code) into it. Or, copy and paste the text, then mark the text with the mouse and select SH from the insert menu. Many times, the insertion point is not reflecting it's actual position when you click inside the text. Very often it is also not possible to position the insertion point to the end or beginning of a line using the left and right arrow keys; the insertion point jumps to the next line, even though the end of the line has not been reached.
    For instance:
The text insertion point [|] is showing up between the words "point" and "is", but when pressing the delete key or entering text, it affects a different area.
    22
The following is a picture with text and Syntax Highlighting.
In tables, pressing the delete key will remove or rearrange the hover-up window.
    23
The original or initial post of a thread is shown with a grey background when browsing. Depending on the web browser application, this background is also copied when doing a copy and paste of the text, provided the target window supports rich text editing.
Change the target editor window to plain text.
    24
After resizing a pasted image to the same size than the original, the quality is much worse. The following shows a screenshot of the original and copied image:
When resizing a picture by moving the image end-points, the editor does no longer show the current picture dimensions (pixel x pixel) as it did in Jive 5. Also when copying a picture between documents, the picture is enlarged and requires resizing.
    25
Copy and paste content from /etc/oratab, for example:
The same also happens when pasting the text into a Syntax Highlighting field.
It is often necessary to use undo (ctrl-z, cmd-z) to get rid of the mess.

BluShadow I know you are in favor of reenabling code formatting and ditching the Syntax Highlighter altogether. I've also heard that users would prefer the advanced editor to open by default. Anything else on the wishlist?
correction, I would certainly be in favour (favor to you ) of reenabling code tags, mainly because I work quicker by copy/paste and by keyboard than by having to click through a load of buttons (that currently don't do what they should).  I've not said that syntax highlighting should be ditched altogether, and I'd certainly be in favour of it being there, just so long as it provided a decent formatting that was appropriate, so code actually looked like code, and the ability for people to copy/paste the code out of the forum to their own environment wasn't corrupted with double line spacing (as dude has already mentioned) and the addition of the line numbers it puts in (the line numbers are useful for reference on the forum, e.g. when we want to say "you're problem is on line X", but not good when you copy/paste code out to your environment and have to spend ages deleting them all to get the code to do anything).  If it's too difficult, then removing the line numbers from the code formatting would be preferable to having them there and not being able to copy the code out without them.
I agree with dude that it would be good to be able to highlight portions of code with bold or colours, which the old forum didn't allow, but this one does, so it's really a combination of old and new that's needed.  And as dude highlights, the supressing of blank lines is a pain as it can make the posting of multiple code commands become all compressed and difficult to read, and is not representative of what we have in our interfaces such as SQL*Plus etc.
    Basic example:
Copy paste from my SQL*Plus window into the forum (and me applying courier new and quoting it)...

Obviously that's a basic example; in reality we can be providing a solution to someone, explaining multiple steps and commands to demonstrate their issue and the solution, and having to go back through the code once we've pasted it adding back in all the line spacings, is a real pain and time consuming.
Certainly, having the advanced editor options available immediately for replying would be better than having to switch to it manually, especially as most people using these forums are going to want to paste code in (what with it being a technical forum and not really a social forum), and the basic editor just doesn't allow for any suitable code formatting (unless the person is mad enough to switch to HTML mode).

  • Internet/Router issues and new "secure email"

I'm supposed to have a 35MPS internet plan. When I switched to the higher speed plan, I paid for the Verizon router and installation.  I have both a Mac and Windows 7 Laptops as well as an older netbook.  To say that the wireless connectivity sucks would be complimentary.  I've used the automatic troubleshooter....I've looked through forums and followed advice on settings etc...with no joy.  Before I "upgraded" I had my own belkin n router.  Even though the router is downstairs in an office , with the belkin, I could connect on my back deck and all but the furthest upstairs rooms in the house.  Since I "upgraded"  the wireless won't stay connected with line of sight 8 feet from the router so we have cables trailing thru the living room.  For the brief moments when wireless is connected it is slower than dial-up.  The cabled connection seldom exceeds 10MBPS ( this is where they tell me the plan is "up to" 35MBPS")
We have a mountain home with DSL and a VERY basic wireless router.  Both the Mac and PC connect effortlessly and even my very untechsavvy wife mentioned how much faster the 3MPBS DSL service is than FIOS.  Her next question "Tell me again why are we paying so much for FIOS?"
The latest debacle (forget that companies choose to not learn from others mistakes, think Netflix here) is the new secure email settings. I updated my Mac and my android in strict compliance with the Verizon directions and for a few minutes all was well.  Today I can't connect through my android.  An "authentication error receiving" message show up with a note to check my settings only I HAVEN"T CHANGED MY FLIPPING SETTINGS!  Now I have to go in and re-enter my account password several times a day to get into my email account when the PW is stored in my phone!  I consantly have to rest the Mac as well. (Hmmm no yahoo, gmail  issues and they are free....)
To be fair I haven't called in the issue with the wireless connectivity because I have called before on other issues and frankly I don't have the time to wait on hold.  The last time I had a "technical problem" with my service I ended up telling the tier 2 tech how to fix the problem.
As a Quality Assurance /Customer Service professional,  the one thing I can tell Verizon is that there is no marketing campaign that will overcome word of mouth reports on poor service and response.  I installed FIOS years ago when it was first available in my neighborhood.   Service was reliable, customer service responsive and capable.  That all seems to have gone by the wayside to improve the bottom line.  Volume can go a long way to masking attrition for quite a while, but it isn't sustainable.  The cable companies in my area have an even worse reputation which is the only reason I've not yet left...and that's a really crappy reason to stay.
I understand that it's the processes and the system which are hosed up.  The poor CS reps are customer facing and they take it on the chin for every corporate decision viewed as stupid by customers. There may be a few really bad customer service reps, but the majority of  CS reps DON’T come to work to see how many customers they can **bleep** off.   CS Reps are only as good as the process under which they must work.  When working with organizations and speaking with CS reps one question I always ask is "How long would you put up with what you put out if you were dealing with another company?"  Then I suggest that the leaders/managers attempt to call in with a problem using only the same avenues available to paying customers.
Companies should also must realize that the "cancellation fee" they threaten people with is usually about a month and a half worth of service.  After that it's money back in the consumers pocket, or more likely into competitions pocket and not in Verizon’s pocket.  It’s the principle of the fee that keeps customers hanging on.
Now that I’ve vented if anyone can tell me a better router to use than the one Verizon gave me, I’m all ears.  I really don’t care about remote accessing my DVR.

Since you already have the Belkin and know that it works well, I would suggest hooking that up to the Verizon-supplied router and using that. Turn off the wireless from the Verizon router.

  • BAPI to read and change schedule lines in APO

    Hello experts,
We want to firm schedule lines inside the firm zone of the APO procurement scheduling agreements with a daily job. For this we are trying to use BAPI BAPI_POSRVAPS_GETLIST3 and BAPI_POSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI3. The getlist one does not return schedule lines, it returns purchase orders and purchase requisitions. Are these the right bapis to read and change schedule lines in APO? or is there anyother one we can use?
    Thanks and regards,
    Ergul

    Hi,
You can use the below code to read the schedule lines.
    Checking a session exists
        CALL FUNCTION '/SAPAPO/RRP_SIMSESSION_GET'
          IMPORTING
            ev_simsession = gv_sims

If not create a new session and read it

          CALL FUNCTION '/SAPAPO/RRP_SIMSESSION_CREATE'
