BSOD: Help reading .dmp from crash? Symbols won't load despite read docs

I'm having a hard time analyzing the dump.  Can someone help?  Here's a link to the .dmp file:
http://sdrv.ms/NlC4W8

I've run symchk.exe to download the .pdb files to my machine, but I continue to get this error when using WinDbg:

  • HELP! Pictures from my iPhoto won't load up on my homepage

Hey, I've had a .mac website - http://homepage.mac.com/cliffcarson for the last 4 years. I am constantly loading and reloading pictures from my iphoto on my Apple G4 computer onto my homepage for my .mac website. Once I have the pictures I want in my iphoto, I click "homepage". This transfers the pictures to my .mac website. ALL OF A SUDDEN NOW when I try clicking "homepage" on the bottom of my iphoto there is a message that pops up that says, " IMPORTANT NOTICE: We apologize for the inconvenience, but the ability to order books and prints is no longer supported in iPhoto 2. Please upgrade to a newer version of iPhoto to order these products."
When I click on "learn more" I get a page about upgrading iLife. I already pay over a hundred dollars a year to have this .mac homepage account. Why shouldn't I be able to load up pictures from my iphoto the way I use to? What has changed and can it be fixed?
    PLEASE HELP!
    Thank you,
    Cliff

Hi, Clifford. What has changed is the software underlying .Mac: it no longer supports the antiquated iPhoto 2, just as the recently released Leopard operating system no longer supports iPhoto 2.
You've paid nothing to use iPhoto 2 for several years; it was given to you for free. After enjoying that long free trial period, you're now expected to buy a newer version of iPhoto as part of the iLife suite if you want to keep using the .Mac functions that support the direct uploading of pictures from iPhoto. If you can upload pictures to your .Mac site another way, you can keep using iPhoto 2 without upgrading it for a while longer. I don't use .Mac, so I don't know whether there are other ways to get pictures to a .Mac site.

  • I just installed LV2011 and one dll from my vi won't load with the error "application configuration is incorrect"

I just installed LV2011 and one dll from my vi won't load with the error "application configuration is incorrect", which is Windows lingo for "missing package dependencies".  All the computers at my company with 2010 loaded seem to do OK.  When I do a Dependencies Walk I get missing Visual C debug dll's missing plus IEshims and wer which both have a whole tree of dependencies missing on my machine.  The Windows install is the same "Windows XP version 2002 Service Pack 3" on my PC and the working PC's. So I'm thinking I have to uninstall 2011 and go back to 2010.  Is this correct?  Those VC debug dll's were installed on the machines with 2010 in them but were not installed in mine.
I've heard the advice to recompile the dll with debug turned off but I don't have access to the source code.
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply.  This at least tells me that going back to LV2010 is not likely to solve the problem.  The missing dll's are:
    MFC90D.dll
    MSVCR90D.dll
    IESHMS.dll
    WER.dll
And, once again, IESHMS and WER have other dependencies.  So perhaps i need to install the Visual C++ development environment.
IESHIMS.dll is an Internet Explorer DLL that gets usually delay loaded by shdocvw.dll. As delay load it can not cause DLL load errors but only runtime errors. Maybe your DLL has it as direct dependency but that is unlikely since it does not have a documented interface.
WER.dll is Windows error reporting for Vista/Win7.
MFC90D.dll is the Microsoft Foundation classes and MSVCR90D.dll is the MS C runtime library, both as debug variant.
So all the DLLs you mention are actually MS DLLs! You haven't identified the DLL that you try to access in LabVIEW that causes these error messages. IESHIMS and WER are usually delay loaded by any component that needs it and should not likely be used by non MS code.
What is the DLL you try to load into LabVIEW and by whom? Get the provider of that DLL to provide you a non Debug build of the DLL. Installing Visual C on all the machines just to make the DLL load is not a solution, besides that it is likely not legal since I doubt you have that many licenses.

  • Please help - app from app store won't load

I downloaded an app from the apple app store but it won't start. I clicked on the icon but it won't load. I've tried everything from restarting the computer to opening it in finder to logging in to the app store again. What else should I do?
    Thank you in advance!!

You are not there yet. You detoured into Program Files instead of going to Users.
    1. This is the path that you should be following
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    12.0
and in the 12.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then you delete the whole 12.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists.
You are not going to see most of that unless you have Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active. So, make sure
    2. To Make Sure About Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drive....in Windows 8 or 8.1....
    a. On your computer keyboard you have a Windows Key...hold down the Windows Key and click on the X key of the computer keyboard. That will bring up a pop up menu.
In the pop up menu, click on File Explorer.
    b. In the page that opens, click on the View Tab.
    c. Under the View Tab, to the far right, look for Options. And, click on Options.
    d. Clicking on Options will bring up the Folder Options dialog.
    e. In the Folder Options dialog, click on the View Tab.
    f. Under this View Tab, scroll down to find the option "Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives" and make sure there is a dot next to that
    option to select it.
    g. Close out of there.
    3. Now to follow and see the whole path necessary to get to the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file and the 12.0 Folder in which it is exists.
Follow the path as shown in the header (red rectangle around it.
You can do it. Go one step at a time progressing through the path cited.
If you run into any problems, stop and let me know. And, we will target where you are.
I am sorry to have to put you through all these paths, but you do need them to get to deleting what may be
the cause of your Premiere Elements issues, namely the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file or the whole
    12.0 Folder contents.
We will be watching for your progress.
    Thanks for the follow ups.

  • After I boot up from standby, Firefox won't load any web pages

If I let the computer go into standby on it's own, once I start it up again and open Firefox, it won't load any webpages...the wireless icon in the taskbar is showing connection, but nothing happens other than the address bar on Firefox says "loading"

I had this problem too. Running 32 bit Vista on a Toshiba Satellite U305 laptop. When you fold the lid it doesn't matter if Firefox is running or not, when you open it and the system wakes up, then Firefox 7.0.1 doesn't work any longer. Firefox either will not load if it wasn't running when the system went to sleep or it will soon hang if it was running. I started having this problem 2 weeks ago and have since then been uninstalling and reinstalling software that recently updated, checking configurations etc of ZoneAlarm, AVG, Acronis, etc. but nothing I did seemed to resolve the problem. Then this morning I was about to rebuild my system and remembered something I did a couple of weeks ago, install iTunes to support a used iPhone I was given.
I decided to try removing iTunes before undertaking a rebuild and this fixed the problem. Now that I think about it, I installed iTunes on this laptop when it was new and had to remove it because it slowed it down so much. It looks like they resolved a lot of iTunes performance degradation over the years but iTunes still appears to slow your system down and obviously, now also stops Firefox from working. Whose fault is it, Microsoft, Firefox or iTunes? Good luck having them work it out :-). Removing iTunes resolved my own problem. I can live without iTunes but not without Firefox :-)
Note: When the problem occurs, firefox.exe is running in the task manager but you can't kill it. Another problem for the research team. My own research found that MS Vista turns out to be one of the few OS's in the world that doesn't always provide for killing a process. (Lucky me for buying a laptop that has no XP drivers and doesn't warrant the expense of upgrading to 7). Reason for the kill problem? From what I understand, a kill instruction requested of Vista has it asking an application for permission before doing so. Problem is, hung applications rarely reply "sure go ahead".
    ///// UPDATE:////////
After 12 hours and 4 iterations of putting the laptop to sleep and waking it up, the problem has now recurred. So uninstalling iTunes is not the solution (although it seemed to help at first). Sorry if this confused anyone. My plan now it to regress to an older version of Firefox and see if that fixes the problem. However, I probably need a fresh install anyway after 3 years of overcrowding.

  • Help my logic keeps crashing every time I load it..

hey I just downloaded 10.4.9 and at first my computer kept crashing then it work for a bit but now logic crashes every time I load it. I have tried to restart many times and it still crashes. Should i go back 10.4.8? And if so how do I get 10.4.8 back? Please help...
G4 Dual 1 GHz 2 GB   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Logic Pro 7.2, Three Lacie d2 HD extreme triple interface 250

    Hi Phillip,
first one questions - How did you update ? Was it the Software update app? If so - you need to undo it by reinstalling this:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1049comboupdateintel.html
    for intel
    or this for PPC
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosx1049comboupdateppc.html
If you wanna be safe dont ever use software update for system updates. Always go and get the combo updater...
Now - though you have installed 10.4.9 already you can still install the combo updater over it... Please do so...
When you reboot go to the following locations and delete all contents of those folders:
    Home/library/Caches
    MacHD/Library/Caches
    MacHD/System/Library/Caches
    also delete these two files
    Extensions.kextcache
    Extensions.mkext
    in MacHD/System/Library
go to your preferences folder in your home and search for Logic - delete all Logic's preferences.
Now repair your disk permissions again. and reboot holding atlapple+pr until you hear the chime 3 times (Intel) at least 5 times (PPC)
Once rebooted make sure you have taken your autoload out of the folder where it resides. Now boot logic and see if it works.
I guess that since your 10.4.8 system ran, you are dealing with a typical error of having installed the wrong updater...
The great thing about digidesign's support forum is that they post such compatibility alerts so that their users dont get caught with their pants down:-)))
    Anyway - good luck.

    Hi
that particular crash looks to be caused by a corrupted cache file...
Trash this folder with safari quit (hard not to, I know) : Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/ & hopefully that'll help.

  • Urgent help please - iDVD from iLife 09 - Won't start normal, can't quit ..

    All,
I was in the middle of a job and things were going fine. Incorporating some changes to template supplied. I really don't know what I did, but now I cannot exit iDVD. Each attempt to quit ends with a "unexpected end", and any start of iDVD starts with the last one there. I can drag and drop existing projects but can't start a new one. I've tried deleting prefs file - didn't help. I did the "boot the OS X install and fix permissions" ... still nothing. It just seems stuck with this inability to exit cleanly. Do I need to reinstall, if so, what's the best way? Should I delete the one I have and install from iLife '09 disk?
I'm right in the middle of trying to finish up a job.. Thanks in advance!!

Sounds like you have adequate boot volume space. What I would try first is to copy all video assets for iDvd to the boot volume since iDvd likes things where it can easily find them. Then I'd eject the 3rd party ext. HHD. Pro apps give you a bit more latitude in this regard but iDvd tends to be picky about what it will or will not use (at least when compared to apple's pro apps / DVDSP).
Btw, you did properly format the ext. firewire HDD with apple's disc utility, did you not?

Location of the assets has never been a problem and isn't here (nor should it be, else Apple wouldn't give us the ability to put projects elsewhere) .
It can work with every bit of the asset if I drop the project file onto the dock icon. I also have and use Final Cut Studio Pro so I'm well aware of its capabilities. All drives, eSATA, FW800, and USB are formatted correctly for Intel based Mac.
I hooked up the backup system drive, copied the plist from there, and renames all the DVDPROJ files so iDVD could not find them. A bit Draconian, but so far it is letting me back in normally, and exit normally. I'll have to retrace the steps, but as long as it holds hopefully I won't hit it again.
Interestingly, after my first attempt at deleting the prefs file, iDVD did not generate a new one, which was odd. So hopefully I'm back to a solid starting point.
On a side note, is there ANYWAY at all to add additional font sizes to the drop down list for text? I know in earlier versions there were sliders that allowed for font sizes to be changed. There are a few places on this project (4:3) where I'd like to keep things in bounds for SD NTSC output, but have text a bit larger.
    Thanks again...
    Jay S.

  • I need Help! Power Mac g5 computer won't load past grey screen.

Tonight my old power mac g5 computer (that I had for 8 years) has finally decided not to boot anymore.  What happend was I was on my computer, and looking up something on spotlight until it froze over, (i am assuming its a kernal panic) It then crashed. I turned it off and tried to reboot it. At first, only the apple symbol appeared and no loading bar and then I turned it off again, but now I have a continuious loading bar. I've turned it off several times and rebooted but to no success (my cd drive is also broken) I fear I may have to get rid of it but I cant afford another tower right now..they're too expensive....What can I do?
Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you.

OK, a number of things, sort of in order:
    1.  Does it boot from an install disc?  You may need to hold the left button of a wired mouse down at boot to get the optical tray to open, or you can use open firmware to open and close the tray.  (see below)  Can you run Disk Utility from the install disk to check and/or repair your boot volume?
    2.  How about the PRAM battery?  How new is it?  If it is the original, you need to replace it for sure.  If it if more than a couple of years old, it should be replaced preemptively as it is likely weak enough by now to have caused some mischief (more so if the machine has been off power and unplugged for any significant amount of time).
    3.  Have you tried a PRAM reset? (Hold down cmd-option-P-R key combination at boot until you hear the boot tone a second time).
    4.  Have you tried a PMU reset?
So what is happening is that something is getting hosed early on in the boot process.  You might be able to see what is going on by doing a verbose boot (hold down cmd-V at startup until you get to the gray screen with Apple embossment) and hopefully getting the Unix terminal screen with its output detailing the boot process.  Were I a betting man, I would have to guess a problem with the boot volume's directory structure.  That's why I listed the booting from the install disc first.  If it boots from the install disc, then most of the system is probably in good shape but there may be problems with the boot volume's directory.
Opening the disc tray using open firmware:
You boot into open firmware by holding down the cmd-option-O-F keys until you get the white open firmware terminal screen.  You are not really using the hard disc or any really advanced capabilities of the system.  Now, type the following command to open the optical drive tray:
    eject cd  <enter>
Repeat the command after inserting the install disc and the tray should close.  Then enter the following command:
    reset-all  <enter>
and the machine should restart.  You can either hold down the option key at boot to bring up startup manager to select the optical, or more simply, hold down the C key as the machine restarts and keep it held down until you see the system loading.

  • Adobe flash drive update causes download to crash and won't load

i can't update to the latest adobe flash player on my 10.10.  once download starts (w/all browsers closed), it either freezes or crashes.

Install Flash Player in Safe Mode.
    Shut down the computer.
Press the power button. Immediately after you hear the startup sound, press and hold the Shift key.
The Shift key should be pressed as soon as possible after startup, but not before the startup sound.
Release the Shift key when you see the Apple logo on the screen. Startup will take longer than usual.
Login to your account. Launch Safari.
Enter this  address in the Safari address bar manually. Click Enter.

Follow the prompts. Install Flash Player.
Once done, quit Safari and restart the computer from  in the menu bar.

  • 3 out of 8 songs from iTunes album won't load to nano?

Purchased an album from itunes. 3 of 8 songs wont load to ipod nano. Message is "cannot be played because audio format is not supported". Questions: how come itunes sells different formats for different songs on the SAME album? How come itunes sells songs that won't play on the nano? How come itunes does not warn customer *before paying* that the songs will not work on the ipod???

Yup, my Mac here at work is authorized. Not sure if my computer at home is since I've never bought iTunes from there-- I presume not.
Thanks for the article. It says right at the top that using an iPod set up for Windows on a Mac won't work-- I'll bet that's my problem. Well, I feel sort of stupid. Don't want to lose the iTunes I bought, though. Would I be able to store those iTunes on a flashdrive and bring them home that way, to load onto my home Windows computer and then onto my iPod? I don't have my flashdrive here today to try it, and I know iTunes are protected for copyright issues and stuff....

  • "Error opening file" - H.264 .MOV from Canon DSLR won't load.

    Hello!
I've had success with Speedgrade, before a recent reformat of my system. I shot some test video on my Canon T3i, which records H.264 .MOV at 1920x1080 23.976 frames per second. I have Quicktime 7 installed. Somehow I get this error. Please help, and thanks!

UPDATE: Somehow, hours later, it miraculously works. I'm sorry to those who still have this issue, but I have done literally nothing with my computer, but instead went out for beer and returned to find it working.

  • Videos from my computer won't load on Itunes

Recently, I have tried loading a few videos from my computer onto my library. Everytime I Click File-->add file to library--->and click on the file, nothing happens. The file is in MP4 format. Help please =D

firstly try just dragging the file on to the itunes window?
also check that it hasn't been added but just moved in to the video tab or tv shows?
then maybe try opening the file in quicktime (if it doesn't play then itunes can't play it). if it does play, then go to export> for iPod and export it, then drag that files (an m4a file) back on to itunes. if the sound is missing them the mp4 files was a combined one and you have to do some faffing to get it working, but search another post if that happens, as i've already written about it twice.
    good luck

  • CDC, journal data from Data Store won't load

Hi, I was having problems yesterday with CDC and setting up a package to loop and load journal data, so today I decided to patch ODI with the 11g log miner and start again. I dropped the source schema and set up anew following the Rittman guide ... http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/rittman-odi.html
I have run through starting the journal and it all executes without errors, I can add a record to my source table and "Extend Window" and then right click on my data store -> Changed Data Capture -> Journal Data and I can see my new record in the Designer.
I have an interface with this data store as the source and I have the checkbox with "Journalized Data Only" checked ... but it just doesn't pick up on the new records in that data store's journal.
Is there something I am missing? I'm sure once I can figure this out it will probably solve my problem building the package to loop through and do this repeatedly as well.
    Cheers
    Damian

Hi, a bit more investigation and a bit more info, Arif, I wonder if you have any idea why it's doing this...
My source table is called S1SPK_DET
When I extend window in the designer and right click on the data source , it presents my new record, and the sql that it is running is looking at a view called JV$DS1SPK_DET (with a D following the $ ) with this query: select * from ODI_WORK.JV$DS1SPK_DET
But when I run my interface that is supposed to be getting the Journalized data from this table, in step four ( 4 - Loading - SS_0 - Load data ) the Loading query is looking at another view JV$S1SPK_DET (Without the D following the $) ... and this view is empty. I will paste the loading query below.
Does anyone know why I have these different views and why the load step looks at the empty one?
    select
         S1SPK_DET.SPK_NO     C1_COURSE_ID,
         S1SPK_DET.SPK_VER_NO     C2_COURSE_VERSION,
         JRN_SUBSCRIBER     JRN_SUBSCRIBER,
         JRN_FLAG     JRN_FLAG,
         JRN_DATE     JRN_DATE
    from     ODI_WORK.JV$S1SPK_DET S1SPK_DET
    where     (1=1)
    AND JRN_SUBSCRIBER = 'SUNOPSIS' /* AND JRN_DATE < sysdate */

  • I have CD's from 2002 that won't load on my pc. How can I get them on itunes without re-buying them?

Pleas help, I recently purchased all of the CD's form Nickleback and some are too old to load onto my computer. They work on cd players fine and the newer ones work on computer so i assume thats the problem. Anyway I wanted them on my itunes but dont want to have to buy them again. Any suggestions on how to do this? thanks

Yeah, if they didn't work on anything I wouldn't be so confused. I assumed it was age simply because they are older CD's, but I bought them brand new even though they date back to 2002. And since my laptop is a few years old, I figured it doesn't have the same software as my new PC, but must still be too new for the CD's. To be honest I thought DVD drives jst played all CD's, didn't think they could pick and choose.
Is there anyway to use the barcodes etc on iTunes to get the songs on to it? Or will I have to buy the albums off of iTunes...
