if you try from test socket to eliminate any problems from your internal wiring and if still hear hiss/crackle then you need to report a phone fault NOT broadband to 151
have you tried hun in test socket?

  • Broadband constantly dropping out

My broadband constantly drops out. I am paying a fortune to BT to provided an unlimited broadband service and during watching one film this morning I've had to reboot my router 6 times so far and I'm still only half way through watching it. On top of randomly losing connection, when ever the phone rings connection is lost. Can anyone help. Really don't wish to call BT because I've spent hours getting no where with then before, on other issues.

welcome to the BT community forum where customers help customers and only BT employees are the forum mods
resetting your connection is the worst thing you can do and only makes matters worse.
in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router you may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or if HH4/5 then go to troubleshooting then logs and you are looking for 2 line together when hub last connected to internet and they will show your connection speed and noise margin or if netgear enter 192.168.0.1). Then run  btspeedtester  (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results ( do not reset the router).
are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home? If you conenct to test socket with a new filter and receiving a phone call drops your internet connection then you have a high resistence fault and need to report a phone fault to 151 not broadband fault.  get this fixed and connection will improve
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem

  • Network coverage drops in and out after upgrading iPhone 4s to ios5.1, Network coverage drops in and out after upgrading iPhone 4s to ios5.1, Network coverage drops in and out after upgrading iPhone 4s to ios5.1

Can anyone please tell me what I can do to fix the following problem....I updated the software to ios 5.1 two days ago and since then my network coverage drops in and out. Very difficult to make recieve calls with this happening every few seconds and near impossible to use the Internet. I have contacted support but got no support as 90 days had just ended. I have researched this problem all over the Internet and am now aware that I am not the only one with this problem after the upgrade. I have reset many times and read every post and still there are no answers...Can anyone please help? I'm trying to run a business and it's impossible with the phone doing this now.

I have been having the same issue for the last two weeks. No real indication as to why it ever began other than I had turned off my router and Airport Extreme Base Station off for a weekend while I was away from my place.
iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, all have no issues at all with my Airport Extreme Base Station. Can stay connected throughout my living room, bathroom, bedroom, no issues whatsoever.
My 5 month old MacBook Pro 2.66 GHz Core i7 Airport is sometimes perfect, able to connect, DHCP, and browse without issue. Then, for no reason, I won't be able to join my wireless network, or when I can join, I can't pick up an IP address. And then it will connect, pick up and IP, and then it won't browse. No real rhyme or reason to when this will happen, or when it works.
I thought that it was an issue with my MacBook Pro, but then my sister visited with her brand new MacBook Pro 2.26 Intel Core 2 Duo, and while a month ago she was able to connect, DHCP, and browse without issue, this weekend she had all of the same issues I was having.
My XBOX 360 and MacBook Pro have absolutely no issues with the wired connection. Only my WAN seems to have this issue.
Did you ever find anything more to this?

  • HT204409 wifi on 3gs drop in and out why?

why does my wifi drop in and out on my 3gs ?

    Power cycle the Wi-Fi router.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Does the issue still occur?
If so, try a restore as new.
If it still continues, you may have a hardware issue.  Take it to Apple for evaluation.

photographer's package - can i drop in and out of membership when required and if so is it only after an initial period has elapsed?

    Hi there
The Photography plan is only available as an annual plan (either pay up front or paid monthly) so you'd be signing up for a year.
A month to month plan is available for Creative Cloud complete and single apps which means you don't have to commit for a certain period of time and can stop and start.
    Subscription terms available here: https://www.adobe.com/misc/subscription_terms.html
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Audio dropping in and out on Express

    My setup:
    - Airpot Express running 6.3 software hardwired into my network gigabit switch. Stereo analog audio output plugged into my home theater system. Airport is setup to "Create a wireless network"
    - Airport Extreme 802.11g running 5.5.1 software hardwired into my network gigabit switch. Airport Extreme is setup to "Create a wireless network"
    - G4 Laptop with 1GB RAM running Leopard 10.5.8 hardwired into my network gigabit switch. Itunes 9.03 open with shared server mounted (see NAS drive below).
    - NAS drive hosting 20GB worth of music (mostly high quality AAC files) that iTunes plays back from hardwired into my network gigabit switch.
My Airport Express was streaming audio fine (using the Remote application on my iPhone) however within the last 4 or 5 months music has been playing back choppy dropping in and out every 5-10 seconds or so for about a half a second. Does not matter what music I am playing. Cannot get iTunes to output audio locally on my laptop (only via Express) so think there is something going on.
I know the Airport Extreme basestation probably has nothing to do with the problem but just wanted to point out the fact that I have configured both the Airport Extreme basestation and Airport express to "Create there own wireless networks". I could never successfully include the Airport Express into the Airport Extreme wireless network so kept them separate. However this should all be a null point as the Airport Extreme is hardwired and should not be using any wireless functionality for streaming the music.
    Any thoughts?

an update, switched the G4 laptop out with a G5 tower, keeping the rest of the setup the same, and the music played fine. Switched back to my laptop and the music played choppy. Noticed the CPU was bouncing around quite a bit on the laptop while playing music and that is when the music would cut out. So must be my laptop? Weird as the laptop worked fine for years and that is when it only had 512MB RAM. I did just update the laptop to 10.5 from 10.4 so perhaps 10.5 is the problem?
However I am running Twonhy Media Server on the laptop to stream video from the same server the music is on. I stream it to a PS3 and it streams perfect.
I would seem that iTunes does not efficiently stream music via mounted servers?

  • I use a Canon VIXIA HFM41 camera with bluetooth WM-V1 mic and receiver. Audio drops in and out.

Trying to figure out why my audio kept dropping in and out while recording a 90 minute presentation this past weekend.
I just recorded 90 mins today in my office of a TV monitor screen and audio - no audio problems. Batteries were fresh and camera was fully charged over the weekend before I had the audio problems. Bluetooth? Could there have been some sort of cellphone interference with the bluetooth audio signal that caused the problem? I was with a group of about 25 people when recording the event - and I was the only person recording video/audio. My camera was about 15-20 feet from the microphone, which was close to the house mic and sound system - but no interference at all with the audio I did capture.
The audio didn't just drop out - it faded out, and would fade back in after several minutes. Video was complete, no interruption or distortion. HELP!

Yes, you can use the 85 watt adaptor. You cannot use the new adaptors because your computer is not equipped with the proper MagSafe connector. But you can use the older MBP adaptors as well as a 60 watt replacement adaptor. All can be found at Apple's Online Store.

  • Trouble with audio dropping in and out?

I had this problem for ages.
Apple TV3 was connected to monitor via HDMI. Monitor audio out was connected to hifi system. The audio was dropping in and out. Fix was to go in the monitor settings and set the HDMI audio to 2.0
Hope this helps someone, as I couldn't find this info anywhere on the net.

  • Why does my Iphone 4S drop in and out of charging?

Every time I charge my phone it drops in and out of charge. Can someone help me.......

Yes, as paulcb says, it's most likely because coverage inside the building stinks. You're lucky you can get the EDGE signal inside. The last place I worked, AT&T had to come out and place an antenna inside the building. Largely because we threatened to cancel our contract of over 500 phones with them if they didn't fix it.

  • Broadband Constantly dropping since Broadband Talk...

Firstly - if anyone from BT reads this and cares about customer service and support, get a grip it is the worst support I have ever had the need to contact!
Two weeks ago I finally swap my fully working and stable Netgear router over to a Home Hub, with the intention of getting rid of my Vonage VOIP service (which works a treat, but costs!) and use the Broadband talk service. The hub and phone arrived on the 10th (I think) and plugg in and all worked well ... however it would seem that I did not have the required broadband talk number and password. It took nearly two weeks of long phone calls to various people getting no where, when finally last night they activated it and sent out the relevant information via email!
However now my broadband connection is constantly dropping, and broadband talk light sometimes goes back to blue, but often just stays at orange ... and as the broadband is dropping (as I type, but hopefully I'll get a window to post it in) my internet connection is now useless.
Performing the line check on the BT website said there was a fault and gave me a reference number and a number to call. That's when two and half hours of passing around started. They tell me I don't have a line fault, that it is a fault at my end.... they seem **bleep** bent on finding something they can blame it on. Are you connected via wireless or ethernet, well I have both. Which operating system, well I have Seven, Vista, XP Pro, 98, Me, an PS3 and an Iphone. Then we move down the it must be the cables to the socket in the house (well not changed since last night when BBT was activated!), and then I have to move the cupboard in the hall to get access to the master socket to tell them what it looks like! What is the point of that one!!
I am told that it is purely a coincidence that it dropped when the BBT was activated (one **bleep** of a coincidence!) and after much more discussion finally I was told that he was 'honestly sorry' that I had a problem, and would book an engineer to look at it tomorrow between 8am and 1pm, but they need 48 hours to resolve it! Basic maths that one!
Has anyone else experienced these problems? Why is BT customer support so scripted and if your problems don't follow the tick boxes they are lost, and just start again? If I pay my phone bill late, I get charged a fee for doing so ... what compensation do I get for loss of service?
The broadband lights finally came back on so I'll try the post option.

Further to my last, this is a section of the event log from the router, the VOIP certainly appears to be having a problem.....  (I've removed my phone number so the ***'s are normally a number.

  • When playing iTunes from 2006 MacBook via Airport Express remote stereo speakers, the music keeps dropping in and out

I've tried hours and a trip to the Apple Store to resolve this problem, and no luck so far.
We have two Airport Expresses -- one is an older "g" version (from 2006), one is a newer "n" version (a couple of years old).
We have one older MacBook (from June 2006) (so it can only use "g" wireless and also cannot be upgraded to OS X 10.7 "Lion").
We have one MacBook Air and an iMac (both less than a year old), an iPad (about 2 months old), and a recently acquired AppleTV (in the past few weeks).
We also have two iPhones that do use our local wireless network on occassion.
We have stereo speakers that are currently connected into one of the Airport Expresses.
For years (until the past few weeks) I played music from iTunes on my first generation MacBook to the speakers with no problems (using the older "g" Airport Express).  Recently, however, when playing music remotely over the speakers we have gotten fairly regular (though at random intervals) drops of the music in and out (drops are for a second or two each).  So far, here's what we've tried to do:
    (1)     Went to the Apple Store, where they thought the problem might be compatability between the g and n equipment in our house.  They suggested that we get an Airport Extreme and use that as the base so that 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz networks could each be set up, allowing the two systems to play nicely.  Spent a couple of hours setting everything up.  No dice.
    (2)     The skipping happens even when (a) I turn off the Apple TV; and/or (b) turn off the older Airport Express and just use the Extreme and the "n" Express (with the "n" Express as the connection to the stereo).
    (3)      When I have the wireless network drop-down menu selected on my MacBook, the skipping occurs immediately after the computer is "looking for networks" (as shown at the top of the menu).  The computer does this at random intervals on a regular basis.  The skipping, however, will occur even if the menu is not selected.
    (4)     Here's the weirdest part.  The skipping has even occured when playing iTunes from our newish iMac, with the older MacBook shut down, with the older Airport Express shut down.  In this case, the skipping only appears to occur when we have the wireless network drop-down menu selected and again, it occurs when the computer is "looking for networks" which occurs at random intervals.  In this situation, the skipping only seems to occur when the menu is selected.
At this point, if I can't find another solution, I'm going to return the Airport Extreme, and just give up playing music over our stereo speakers from the MacBook (and instead transfer music to the iMac and play from it).  But I thought I'd try a last-ditch effort to ask for help to see if anyone could figure out what might be causing the problem.  I would chalk it up to the problems of using my old "g" network MacBook on a newer "n" system (though I'm not about to spend $1K+ to upgrade my laptop just for this), but for (4) above, which seems to indicate something else is going on.
Any help would be most appreciated!

Unfortunately, your description of the problem and the placement of both your main and AirPort Express routers does lend itself to believe the problem is most likely Wi-Fi interference. If it isn't the microwave or portable phones, it could be obstacles like walls between the routers that may be preventing the stream from consistently reaching the Express.
In your configuration, the stream will first travel to the main router, and then, from the main router to the AirPort Express. If, for example, you started the stream in the same room as the Express, that stream would have to travel across several rooms at least twice.

  • Dealing with dropped frames and out of sync audio

    Hi!
I'm using Final Cut Studio 3 and I'm trying to record some video from a pretty old MiniDV-camera. The problem is that a have some dropped frames and when I record the whole thing it gets out of sync.
By default Final Cut aborts the capture (without saving) when it finds dropped frames. That won't work for me. I start recording, it records a couple of minutes and then it just aborts without saving anything.
I tried to record the entire tape when using the option of not aborting on dropped frames. I recorded the entire video but not it gets more and more out of sync later and later in the video.
So, do you have any suggestions on how to deal with this? Maybe I can use an external application for this cause I haven't found a way to deal with this in Final cut.
    Best
    Felix

    Hi(Bonjour)!
Did you shoot in DV or HDV ?
Did you try to capture HDV with Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60 (or 50 for europe)?
Does you downconvert HDV shooted to DV upon capturing from camcorder ?
DV-NTSC 48 kHz is the way to go with downconverted material.
Does your DV audio setting is 16 bit on FX1 ? (HDV is a fixed one).

  • X1 Carbon Gen3 (2015) Chassis constantly clicks in and out of position

It's been 1 week since I received my first Lenovo Laptop - X1 Carbon Gen3 and I'm very pleased with it so far. Since the beginning I noticed a 'clicking' sound produced when resting my palms on the keyboard to type, but couldn't figured out what it was. Today I took a closer look and discovered that the bottom chassis (front corners) is being pushed in and out its position, creating this 'clicking sound'.  It almost looks like the screws were not properly tightend so they do not allow any flex between the bottom chassis and the body of the ultrabook.  I tried tightening the screws, but it seems like they are fully tightened, so there isnt anything I can do about it. I performed a research and found one more user complaining about the same issue here:http://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/30a5rz/i_have_a_touch_and_a_nontouch_qhd_x1_carbon_3rd/ I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced this issue and how its best resolved. Many thanks, Chris

I have the same problem (hope to soon being able to say "I HAVE HAD that problem"...) I was very, very disappointed and very annoyed to see that this overly expensive business laptop which I paid +3K USD for not (even) had the same build quality as a simple Macbook consumer laptop, therefore a couple of days ago I sent my X1 gen3 for repair to fix the squeeking and flexinq bottom cover, and hopefully the Lenovo repair center has swapped either the bottom cover or the screws. I must say that it is really embarrasing for Lenovo to charge a premium for a Laptop with such a lousy bottom cover fit..I mean, honestly, where is the quality control...? Anyway, as soon as I get it back after the weekend I will post an update about the results of the repair.

  • Broadband constantly dropping out Hub 2.0

For the past 3 weeks I have been having lots of probs with no BB, the hub resetting - the 3 lower lights keep changing to orange/flashing whilst the top power light remains blue - I am now permanently connected to the test socket and have replaced filter and hub with brand new, still the same.  Probs appear to be during week days, on Monday I videod the problem so that I can show what is happening instead of constantly trying to explain to the so called Tech help line, as I am now working away from home until Friday I am having to wait till then to speak to a level 2 Technician, for the umpteenth time. Does anyone else have similar problems - I am ripping my hair out with the responses I get from BT.  The video is on http://youtu.be/wyDtK7BK9yo

  • HT204368 have a blueant Q2 that does not like to stay connected. Have phone in shirt pocket but ear piece drops in and out at will. Blueant says they do not have a proble, has to be Iphone. any ideas at $99.99 plus tax and can't use it, well you figure it

Received new iphone 5 for Christmas. Also Blueant Q2 blue tooth ear piece. Phone works great, blueant, not so. Have had numerous emails and phone calls to tech about dropping out. There is no active phone, you are connected and all I have to do is move my head to have either happen. I keep the phone in my shirt pocket and it can't be over 10-14 inches from one to the other. Any thoughts and suggestions???? At $99.99 plus tax just can;\'t afford to hit it with a hammer.

Didn't really read much at all of your post. Much, much too long, irrelevant details and & no paragraphs.
