BT Net Plus

After receiiving the BT Net PLus update this pm it asked me to reboot which I did and since then can't do a system scan and it keeps switching off the scanner. Reported to BT via the 'chat' system who eventually advised me after two further reboots to reinstall BT NET Plus. If I do and there is something wrong with this latest update surely I'm only going to get the same problem? Anyone else had this happen today? I'm running XP and had no problem until received the update.

Hi parrotvotti,
Also just to let you know that Microsoft will be ending their support for Microsoft XP SP3 on 8th April 2014 Link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/endofsupport.aspx
Microsoft recommend upgrading your operating system to a new version such as Windows 7 or Windows 8.
Although XP is still a good and reliable operating system, Microsoft will stop supporting it with security and operating system updates and may become vulnerable  and incompatible with some software.
Cheers

  • BT Net Plus blocking download of Adobe Flash Playe...

I am trying to download Adobe Flash Player but BT Net Plus is blocking it. I have found out what the IP address is and the port. How do I change the Firewall settings to accept this site please? There does not seem to be an easy way to search for help with BT Net Plus, especially for new Infinity customers. It does not appear to be very user friendly.

    This may help.

  • Excise on Net and VAT on Net plus margin

    Hi.
We purchase some material from a vendor. This vendor in turn is an intermediary who purchases it  from a manufacturer.
The Manufacturer sells this material to vendor at say Rs. 100/- + ED of 8%. The vendor adds a margin of Rs. 40 to it, making the price 100 + 8 + 40 = 148/-.
    Now the vendor sells it to us at 148 + 12% VAT i.e. 148 + 17.76 = 165.76 /-
How do we map this scenario in SAP to claim CENVAT ? Because tax calculations are based on Net price. So even if I put a Net price of say Rs.100, the ED will be calculated correctly as Rs.8/-. But the VAT (which is deductible) will also get calculated on 108/-.
How do we make the system calculate VAT on 148/- ?

    Hi,
Assumptions : Material price (inclusive of ED )                 :  148.00
                               VAT  (Deductible) @ 12%                      :  17.76
Amount Payable to Vendor                       :  165.76
Actual Excise Invoice received for amount                   :  8
Amount to be loaded on Inventory                        :  140
1   While creation of PO for such cases maintain the u201CZerou201D tax code u2013 usually V0. Also do not forget to tick mark GR based IV.
    2.  While doing GR through MIGO, enter the actual Excise duty  in the respective cells of Excise Tab in Item details. Also ensure to change the Base value to [PO value u2013 (ED)].
3.In the Excise Header Tab maintain Excise Invoice No. and  Date & Check on MRP Indicator. This check ensures that the value going on inventory is after deducting the Excise Duty .
4.In MIRO Screen, change the Amount to the Base Amount.
5.Ensure that the Calculate tax Indicator is checked and the value populated in Tax Amount is = ED maintained in GR + Vat maintained in PO(thru Condition record).

  • HT204053 This issue needs to be addressed......BIG TIME......

    Dear Mr. Cook.
First off.....BRAVO on all your work and direction and stewardship with Apple since you have been at the Helm of Apple.......Especially with your attention and concern over the IOS 6 Maps issues currently......
BUT.......Here is "one more thing" that is SERIOUSLY starting to snowball upon itself and is fast becoming a HUGE problem for many if not most Apple Product users and or is iTunes and iCloud infrastructure users........
It is the Issue of Apple ID Accounts and the many that Apple Product users have and use within the iTunes and iCloud Infrastructure or systems that effect all users of any Mac Computer (Desktop or Laptop) and all of the IOS devices as well as the effects upon iTunes and the iCloud.
    FOR INSTANCE:
iTunes is Now nearly 12 years old..........back when it first started I was a PC user (I now use an iMac, iPhone, and iPad).........and when iTunes first started my first Apple ID for iTunes was the e-mail address of the ISP I was subscribed too at that time which was:
[email protected] / plus the password
Over the years I made a ton of Music and Movie and Books and App purchases using that account.
But, over the years I have moved several times and also stopped using PC equipment and now am exclusively Apple, thus my ISP provider has changed and of course that means that the [email protected] e-mail address is no longer my e-mail address (it is now [email protected]).......because I of course was using a different ISP as well and I was also a MobileMe subscriber....
But because there currently no way to Merge iTunes Apple ID's......I still now nearly 12 years later have to remember [email protected] (plus password) Apple ID login for my ITunes account.........
And Obviously I have a [email protected] (plus password account) for both iTunes and MobileMe.......and now of course [email protected] Apple ID has now been rolled into iCloud......and now I understand that all the @me.com addresses / ID's are going to be upgraded to @iCloud.com addresses / ID's......
And Honestly, That will now give me Three (3) Apple ID's I now have to remember and keep track of........and i know for certain that there are other people out there that probably have more than that......5 or even dare I say 10 of the Apple ID logins that they may have created as the went from one ISP to another creating iTunes accounts or MobileMe accounts, or iCloud Accounts or accounts for any of the Apple services every time they bought a new Mac or Mac's, or iPhone(s) or iPad(s), iPod(s), etc. etc.....I think you can see where I am going with this.......
WHY THIS IS BECOMING A HUGE PROBLEM FOR EVERYBODY:          ?????
As I stated above over the years I have made a ton of music and Book and Movies and app purchases with my [email protected] iTunes account......
But as i was also using Mobile Me and now iCloud, I have also made a bunch of purchases with those Apple ID accounts as well......
So now when I go into iTunes and lets say I have 17 App Updates and I am logged into iTunes with the [email protected] ID, only those apps that were purchased with that account will update......thus I have to log out and log back in with the other Apple iTunes IDs in order to update or download the additional updates to iTunes.....It is an ENORMOUS pain in the ***.......and I only have three (3) Apple ID's / accounts......Imagine if you will what a headache it must be to the people that have something crazy going on like 5 or 10 different Apple ID's to log in and out of for iTunes and or iCloud, etc. etc.......
And Now.........it seems it is going to get even more confusing as i understand that all former mac.com and me.com e-mail addresses are getting rolled up and upgraded to @iCloud.com addresses......its is just becoming very confusing to many trying to juggle and manage multiple Apple ID's.......especially the very old ones that were created long ago when it was only just iTunes.......
This has become a problem that has been slowly growing and growing and needs to finally be addressed and fixed.......soon........before it grows to the point where it all becomes too large to deal with.....(and it might very well be already).......
There needs to be a way for ALL users of iTunes and iCloud (as well as former MobileMe users......developers, etc) to be able to merge all there accounts and Data (such as Appa, and Music, and Movies and Any iTunes purchases) into one account if they wish too all while preserving their personal data and without compromising security.....
And it seems like with all your systems and infrastructure moving towards iCloud, that it should be the developers and systems teams that are in charge of both iCloud and iTunes that should be working on this matter.....
I talked to one of your Apple Customer care people today by phone, and even that person expressed their frustration with this problem as she herself had multiple Apple ID's and logins and had encountered these issues I speak of.......
This is a serious problem that is still growing everyday for everybody........
And actually.....I wrote to you about this once before, and less than 24 hours later I actually received a personal phone call from one of your personal assistants regarding this issue and was told that at this time there was no fix that could be made........Unfortunate yes, but here it is nearly a year later and this problem is still growing and getting larger for everyone.......BUT, on the up side of things, I can tell you that getting that phone call was amazing.......proving once again, that Apple's customer service is world class and second to none......I wish every corporate company would follow your lead and model when it comes to customer service.......
Anyhow.........Please try and help with this matter if you can.....!!......
    Sincerely and Respectfully,
    Blake Norris

    Tank you Blake,
Your not alone thinking this is a nightmare and if this not a topic concerning all old apple costumer's Mr Roger you never been on the support pages before. If you not believe me search "merge multiple Apple ID" on support page or Google it, I know you know this because you always trying to help frustrated people by saying this is not possible...
    Thank you again Blake

  • Any ideas how to better troubleshoot VPN issue?

    Hi,
I've recently upgraded my WLAN router to a brand new AVM FRITZ!Box WLAN 7390, in part for its VPN capabilities.
So far, I've been unable to create a working connection.
AVM's VPN is based on Cisco IPSec, and they provide a step-by-step procedure on how configure a Mac-based VPN connection (http://www.avm.de/de/Service/Service-Portale/Service-Portal/VPN_Interoperabilita et/16206.php - unfortunately only available in German, sorry). Following it, I still can't get it to work. Contacting their support I got first the same procedure and after pointing out I already followed it a "we don't support other vendors".
Funny enough, I got a second VPN connection to my work's VPN server just fine, though admittedly there we have a true Cisco box.
My initial setup was based on a 192.x.x.x net on my AVM, I could establish a VPN connection but coudn't ping/ssh/http/you-name-the-protocol in either direction. Our companies net is a 10.x.x.x net so, and as I have also VMware fusion running on my Mac with DHCP enabled on a different 192.x.x.x net plus a third 192.x.x.x net from my Wifi access I decided to reconfigure my AVM net to a 172.x.x.x net and stop VMware services for the tests (ie simplify as much as I could to help troubleshoot).
Alas, instead of being able to establish a non-working VPN connection, now I ain't able to get the tunnel up. IKE Phase 1 completes but Phase 2 doesn't.

An earlies test in a Starbucks around here had the same result, during looking at the netstat -nr output I found I got onto a 10.x.x.x net on the Wifi and still could connect to the (different) 10.x.x.x net at work.
My TCP/IP Networking course was around 2000, but the default route seen in the non-working log section looks like bullsh*t to me anyhow: DEFAULT-ROUTE = local-address 172.77.7.14/32
On the other hand, the Phase 2 message seem to indicate a different mode for Phase 2 between the working and the non-working one.

I also noticed an extra "IPSec port-mapping update for en1 ignored" message in the non-working log section, but I'm not sure a) how significant that might be, and b) how to find out what the ignored update might have been to decide whether not ignoring it would help.
A quick test with the AnyConnect Client from Cisco didn't help either, apparently it establishes an https connection first as I got a window which certificate details from my QNAP behind the AVM Box (I got a port forward for https to it)
So I'm looking for any ideas how to better troubleshoot this VPN issue...
    Many thanks in advance!

    Alex

Ok, found a small typo in my config (had at one point a 172.77.7.14 instead of the 172.22.7.14), no I can also connect from the 172.x.x.x net but still no ping etc. The relevant section of the log looks now like this:

  • Your Session has Expired - iPhone SDK 3.1.2

I am new in development. I had my activation done. I try to download from my Mac - Safari and Firefox and I have this error.
    Your session has expired.
Please return to the ADC Member Site and attempt to download the file again.
If you feel you received this message in error, please reference this code when contacting the ADC Support Team: V2
I had been trying for almost a week and still have this error. I had submitted my problem to Apple but no reply from them. Anyone can advice on this.
    regards

Updating - my issue was solved:
I've noted that when I was trying to download it through my VPN connection (which connects my internet with my office internet), I forgot to check the "Send all traffic over VPN connection" under the "system preferences - network - My VPN Connection - Advanced...". After checking that this option was "enabled" and all of my network traffic was passing through the VPN, I succeeded downloading it. By that point it must be something wrong with my ISP "Telefonica Espana - Madrid".
It turns out to be a "intercept proxy" which was implemented by them. As I'm a new subscriber to their service, by default, they redirect my internet connection through this proxy, which they "offer" as a "security" service in order to avoid spamming, fishing websites threats, "parental control" over the web and finally as a "ad blocking proxy". My actual ISP (telefonica espana) offers it by default to their new subscribers and after 30 days they charge us 3,50 EUR/month for this proxy service called "Canguro Net Plus". Actually this clumsy proxy service was blocking my download requests on http://developer.apple.com/iphone. Even after disabling the "Canguro Net Plus" service through its web page configuration, it was still forcing my internet connection to pass through their clumsy proxy. I had to call to their customer service number to request it to be cancelled (They will only accept to cancel it if you call them by phone). After that I'm now able to download the iphone sdk 3.1.3, 2.82 GB in 45 minutes.
So, if the workaround mentioned above, regarding the change from http to https, doesn't work for you, I suggest you to try a VPN connection in which you must be able to access the internet as well. As a diagnose action you can even try to download it through the "Tor" (The onion router) just to let you verify that through "Tor" you are able to download just a small part of the 2.82 GB. "Tor" is really slow therefore you won't be able to download the iphone sdk (as I said - it's only for a diagnose action). It'll just indicate you that your ISP probably is blocking your download with a clumsy "intercept/cache/transparent proxy" service. Maybe you are able to detect that your ISP is applying some kind of proxy service over your internet connection. Just google it or contact your ISP customer service.
    Good luck!

  • Trying to sum the antenna issue up

Is there an attenuation issue: Yes
    Is it hardware: Yes
Do other phones do it: Yes
Why does it seem worse on the iPhone 4: Because they put the weak spot where you naturally grip the phone.
Does covering up the weak spot fix the issue: Yes
When does the issue manifest itself: When the signal is weak
Does covering up the weak spot solve the problem: Yes
How good is the antenna when the weak spot is covered: As good as or better than almost any other phone on the market
How about the rest of its functionality: Best on the market. Just ask Consumer Reports.
I'm keeping mine for the following reasons:
Absent the antenna problem, it is simply a great device
I always cover my phones. In the case of the iPhone, the bumper improves the grip and makes it less likely to slip out of your hand anyway.
With the bumper, I get service in places that I've never had service before. So for me, the antenna is a net plus.
If you are outraged about having to put a free case on the phone, a position I understand, don't get one. Android based devices are great phones too. Life is too short to vent your rage when there are good solutions to the problem.

  • McAfee Firewall and scanning

I have a B520 Idea centre with the following installed:-
BT Net Plus (McAfee) installed through my BT Internet package
Windows 8 upgrade (which updated the Windows 7 which was originally installed)
Last week a message appeared telling me that the McAfee Firewall and Anti Virus were turned off.
When I went to them I could not turn them on. I deleted and then re-installed BT Net plus but it did not fix the problem.
I then thought I would do a system restore to an earlier date but at the end of this I got the following error message:-
System restore failed while deleting the following
    Path C:\Windows\System32\DRIVERS\b95df1c913bec87a.sys
    an unexpected error ocurred 0x8007007b
I also seem to have lost the option to restore the complete system to the default option.
Does anyone have any ideas on what could fix this and also, is there any way I can now restore the complete system back to its original state with Windows 7
    Thanks for any help

    hi FJAYM,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
If you have a wired Keyboard, Shut the computer down and turn it back on then right away start tapping F2
this should boot you up to a recovery menu where you can select recovery and and will let you Restore it to factory Settings. Windows 7 might be reloaded to the system.
If this does not work, you might need to contact Technical Support in your location and ask how to obtain the REcovery CDs

  • Lightroom:  Converting entire library to DNG

I'm intersted in converting my entire library to DNG in Lightroom 5 without losing any quality and
    maintaining the most flexibility possible.
Currently I have all of my folders organized chronologically.
Unfortunatley, over time I have switched back and forth between xmp and catalog based metadata which
has left some folders with xmp and others without.
I want everything to be consistent and ultimatley more efficient for Lightrooms performance.
What is the cleanest, safest and most comprehensive steps to accomplish this?
What boxes should I check in the "covert to dng" dialog box?
Lossy will reduce the file size but compromise quality, correct?
Any other tips for things that come up along the way would be greatly appreciated.
    All the best,
    Alex

    Alexander Herring wrote:
•the file is the same quality and yet a smaller file
Most of the size reduction comes from reduced jpeg preview, raw data compression is about the same. Save fast-load data, xmp, and a full-size/high quality jpeg in there and it will be bigger than the original raw. Don't take my word for it - do the test!
    Alexander Herring wrote:
•dng allows the option to turn on FAST MODE in Lightroom which is up to 8x faster
    That's pure crap.
    Alexander Herring wrote:
•no need for a side car xmp, which make the file more easily transportable
Whether sidecars are a net plus or minus is a subject of constant debate in this forum. I keep all my raws in proprietary format, but frequently give other people DNGs, in order to assure the sidecar isn't dropped. But I wish sidecars were an option for all file types including DNG & jpeg...
    Alexander Herring wrote:
•dng is non proprietary which is more stable for archive becasue it's an open source
Remember: you can convert to DNG at any time, but you can't convert back. Well, actually, you can revert with a little help from UnDNG.
    Alexander Herring wrote:
Having not taken such a large step like this with my entire library I thought it wise to see if anyone had and if there were any pitfalls
by doing to much at a time, etc
Lots of people convert to DNG and are proud of it - the only practical problem you may run into is if using non Adobe-converted-DNG compatible software. I mean, if you try 100,000 at once you may not make it through, since Lr often has memory leaks which can gang up, etc. but you can always restart.
    Alexander Herring wrote:
Ultimatley for me, having my files in an open source format make me more comforable about the future
In my opinion, the warm fuzzy feeling you get converting to DNG is the only good reason to do it (or the main reason anyway).

  • Conversion fichiers cs5 vers cs4

    Bonjour,
Pour les besoins d'une mairie, j'ai à convertir une pré-maquette réalisée sous Indesign cs5 vers une version cs4.
J'ai donc suivi les recommandations de cette page :
    http://help.adobe.com/fr_FR/indesign/cs/using/WSa285fff53dea4f8617383751001ea8cb3f-6d4da.h tml

  • Oracle9iDS Forms Builder install problem

Help! I am a student trying to install Oracle 9iDS Forms Developer for a class that I am taking. I am using installation disks provided by the school & get through the installation just fine per their instructions.
...but, when I run the Forms Builder, I see the splash screen, then the application immediately closes. No error messages.
I have tried starting the OC4J instance first (which starts up fine) but I still get the same results for Forms Builder.
I can open the Forms Compiler and Jdeveloper, no problems. I can connect to the school's database using PL/SQL.
I am running Windows XP Home Editions, Service Pack 2.
I'm a student of Oracle, but I have 24+ years of IT experience, and this one has me stumped. Thank you for your time and interest!

    Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it didn't work.
I used regedit to remove all references to Oracle, completely uninstalled & reinstalled the software...and I get the same results: Forms Builder sends up its splash screen, then quits.
Anyone have any other suggestions? Is there any other software known to be incompatible with Oracle? This is my home PC & there isn't too much interesting on it. I do have Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, plus Office & the usual batch of games for the kids.
    Thanks!

  • Sony Digital 8 - DCRTRV480

    Hi,
Anyone recently purchased this digital 8 camcorder? Could you please tell me where you got it from with any recommended sites?
I went to circuit city yesterday, they only had the 280 model. I believe only 460 and above models can play back analog hi8 tapes. I am going to check in Best Buy today. There are a number of internet sites where this is available, but I am not sure which ones are reliable. I've never bought electronics off the net, plus most of them were selling refurbished models. Please help!
    Thanks.

I bought a DCRTR480 at ABC Warehouse in South Bend,Indiana two days ago. They have one left. No one else has bought one form them in the last 3 months according to the manager. I think they also have them online.
My DCR460 would not download to my G5 dual, although my old Sony DV camera still does. Sony customer service said the 460 was broken, so I bought the 480 for alittle more than the repair cost of the 460. However, neither iMovie 5.02, nor any other video program will recognize either the "broken" 460, or the brand new 480. I ran Diskwarrior and Cocktail and reinstalled iMovie5 and updated it to 5.02. Still no luck. Any ideas out there?
Someone said to play a few notes on the GarageBand onscreen keyboard. I did that too.

  • Mail bounces when sent from command-line, works from PHPMailer, Mail.app

Recently, any mail send from the command-line (manually, or via automated scripts) is getting rejected. However, messages composed with, say, PHPMailer are getting through. One thing I notice about the bounced messages is that there's no user/sender recorded. Here's a snippet of the log:
    Sep 28 16:45:32 ns postfix/pickup[3275]: 64F57343FF2: uid=501 from=<admin>
    Sep 28 16:45:32 ns postfix/cleanup[6126]: 64F57343FF2: message-id=<[email protected]>
    Sep 28 16:45:32 ns postfix/qmgr[3276]: 64F57343FF2: from=<[email protected]>, size=627, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
    Sep 28 16:45:35 ns postfix/smtp[6130]: 64F57343FF2: to=<[email protected]>, relay=mx.metropolis.ca[65.254.254.57], delay=3, status=sent (250 2.0.0 tylR1X05q2fRSSh0000000 mail accepted for delivery)
    Sep 28 16:45:35 ns postfix/qmgr[3276]: 64F57343FF2: removed
    Sep 28 16:45:54 ns postfix/pickup[3275]: 0A7BB343FFF: uid=501 from=<admin>
    Sep 28 16:45:54 ns postfix/cleanup[6126]: 0A7BB343FFF: message-id=<20070928224554.0A7BB343FFF@mail>
    Sep 28 16:45:54 ns postfix/qmgr[3276]: 0A7BB343FFF: from=<[email protected]>, size=423, nrcpt=1 (queue active)
    Sep 28 16:45:54 ns postfix/smtp[6130]: 0A7BB343FFF: to=<[email protected]>, relay=none, delay=0, status=bounced (mail for gpspolice.net loops back to myself)
The failure reason given "mail for ... loops back to myself" doesn't seem right, since I haven't changed the DNS settings on this machine.
You'll notice, the message that is sent has the from= address specified, whereas the other two failed examples don't... I'm not really sure why this is failing all of a sudden. Telus, one of our ISPs, is infamous for quietly making major network policy changes (e.g., blocking port 25 for all outgoing business customers). Any suggestions, or a link to a good SMTP mail server (a la OS X server) tutorial would be appreciated. Thanks.

Can you explain why you need any zones in your DNS apart from your own?
OK, I read a previous post from you which explains your internal setup (mini & xserve), so you are using internal domains for web stuff with your local DNS based on your xserve. I presume your mini is using the xserve for DNS? So although I am not entirely clear about everything that is going on, I'll presume you do need these domains in your xserve...
Yes, that's all correct. The Xserve does runs DNS, Web and Mail Services, the Mini just runs a couple web sites (on port 8080, fwiw).
If an external mail server is responsible for a domain which you have in your internal DNS then you have to mirror the public MX records in your local DNS. How MX records work...
This is what I've done in the DNS Services, I believe...
For the domain gpspolice.net, your mini will ask your xserve for the MX record. This will resolve to a host name - in the public DNS this is "mail.gpspolice.net". Your mini will then ask your xserve to resolve this host name - in the public DNS this is "209.200.253.29". So ideally, you should have these two records (MX record= mail.gpspolice.net, plus "A" record for mail.gpspolice.net = 209.200.253.29) in your xserve dns. You may get away with using a different MX host name as long as the final IP is the same but better if exactly mirrors public DNS records.

I think I've done what you've said, and still certain messages don't get sent out. Basically, any message bound for a .baseloc.net domain doesn't get sent. Here's an example of one message that get's stuck in the queue, along with the console log:
    Message ID: 46A1435234C
    Date: Wed Oct 3 09:57:17
    Size: 11009
    Sender: [email protected]
    Recipient(s) & Status:
    [email protected]:
temporary failure. Command output: couldn't connect to lmtpd: Connection refused_ 421 4.3.0 deliver: couldn't connect to lmtpd_
    Oct 3 21:00:07 ns postfix/pipe[21091]: 46A1435234C: to=<[email protected]>, relay=cyrus, delay=39770, status=deferred (temporary failure. Command output: couldn't connect to lmtpd: Connection refused_ 421 4.3.0 deliver: couldn't connect to lmtpd_ )
I have to say, I really appreciate your help. It's helping me understand the proper approach. Anyway, if there's any other information I can provide to help you [help me], please let me know. Thanks again.
