BT Vision Error V04

I currently pay 17.99 per month for BT Vision but whenever i try and watch anything through On Demand I am faced with error message V04 and I am unable to watch anything. I have reported this to BT on a number of occasions who say the error is due to the broadband speed as it  not strong enough to deal with On Demand, firstly, why offer this product as a package with internet if the broadband can't support and secondly where do I stand with cancelling my contract as I don't see why I should stay paying for a service that never works! I've been with BT for about 5 months now.
I would be grateful for any reponse!

Hi, I am a newbie too had this problem V04  non stop for about 3 weeks.  One day fine. next day gone.  latest speed test says download speed is 824 kbps and DSL Connection rate downstream is 1152 kbps.  I am not v. technical but it has worked fine for 2 years hub 2.0 lights steady blue, power line connectors steady green (apart from the usual flashing).  Box works fine apart from that but just before this happened I entered into negotiating a new 24 month contract (unfortunately!) and I am paying a lot of money now for nothing whatsoever.  People sasy well you should know you arent getting enough BB speed but BT check your line for you before selling you the package and they say "OK fine" they dont say you cant watch a Picture Box film in your Bronze package if a child is on line doing their homework on their computer at the same time!  It is not simplistic to expect that service that is what they advertise heavily.  I am glad Jane is pregnant the ads are nearly as good as the old Goild Blend ones with Toiny Head and Sharon thingy who is married to Trevor Eve, but her older kids are on the computer while they are watching BT Vision!  They should live up to their advertising.  I have been going nuts with this over the last 3 weeks, 2 engineer visits and numerous calls from the nice Geordie guys but nothing done about it!!! • Bt Vision error v04 support

    Hey guys,
New to these forums so hello!
I got BT vision on Monday 6th Feb, installed it all fine and dandy. I can get normal Freeview but I cant access no on demand content. I can see what is available but when I go to play it I get a V04 error.
So first thing I did was contact bt on the number displayed on my box - She ran me few the normal technical stuff and it had no effect. So what she found out and told me was that QoS was not installed on my line and she would go and do that for me and everything should be fine the next day.
Well the next day came and all was not well - Called back and was told the order was not placed for quality of service so they would place it now and it will be all sorted in 24hrs.. "Not to worry" she told me.
24hrs had been and gone so I called back yet again - Was told that it was still processing and "Not to worry" and it should all be sorted by Wednesday, as you can imagine I am getting pretty tired of hearing the 24hr word.
Today came around and it's still not working, called back in and they told me QoS was installed on my line so there must be a problem with my box and they are going to investigate it which will take 48hrs instead of just sending out a new box to see if it would fix the problem. So now I have to wait until Monday which will be a whole week since I first installed it before they even think about sending out a new box. I myself really don't think its a problem with the box as everything else is working like a charm.
I even thought it might have been a problem with my broadband speed. I had infinity installed this morning and it still does not work so it can't be that.
So to put it in a short way, everyday I have been told that "It will be working tomorrow" and it never does. I am paying for something that is not working and to be honest I am a bit fed up with it. My sky contract came to an end and Vision looked much more attractive with the on demand stuff which is the whole reason I did not renew my Sky contract.
To be honest this just really is not good enough - I seem to get nowhere on the phone with BT other then "Don't worry we will have it all working in 24hrs for you"
I am a brand new customer to BT after coming from TalkTalk - with whom in 7 years never had a problem. I am starting to regret making the switch now and this just don't bode well. I had a fault on my line the day after it was installed which took 3 days to fix.
Could someone please help me or advise me on what I should do next? I just know that it won't be fixed in 24hrs...

    Welcome to the Forums
Contact the Mods - see the Link below they will take a look at it for you.
Setting  up BTVision is simple yet complex as each step needs to done in order for the service to work not only do you need QoS added to the line but you also need added to the Nevos database as well as lots of
fiddly bits, it's not as simple as flicking a switch.
I know it's a pain especially as a new customer but the Mods will get it sorted out for you and it will be worth the little bit of hassle in long run.

  • VAS - Unknown USB3 Vision error

The TwoCameras.VI was created to simulate the use case of the two USB3 cameras I am using in my application. After anywhere from 500 to 5000 cycles I receive the following error for either one of my cameras:
    -1074360304: Unable to set attribute.
Upon restarting my application in hopes to restore the camera session, I receive an error when trying to connect to the camera that previously faulted.
    -1074360261: Unknown USB3 Vision error.
To restore use of the camera I cycle power to the faulted camera and the camera then can communicate with the IMAQdx drivers again.
Adding wait time between the IMAQdx steps did not affect this outcome.
For testing purposes, I modified the TwoCameras.VI to run only one camera. This program ran for 10,000 cycles with no error for each camera. Possibly not enough cycles to prove that one camera works, but still pretty convincing since it worked for 10,000 cycles on each camera.
I again modified TwoCameras.VI to only acquire images and not write settings as well as vise-versa (write settings, but not acquiring) for both cameras. This did not produce any errors after 10,000 cycles for each test.
Am I overlooking something about the IMAQdx VAS library?

    Alejandro,
    Thanks for the response.
    1. I am curious what the article means by, "IMAQdx driver goes through the camera driver". I have selected in MAX to use the 'NI-IMAQdx USB3 Vision Device' Driver. This is the only option as I have not installed a Basler driver. So how does the IMAQdx driver use an underlying Basler driver?
    2. This is good example for my use case. It does not write settings while the acquisition is stopped, which is the core difference, as well as only one camera session being open at a time (hence the non-simultaneity). I am able to grab over 500 images before error which suggests to me that the driver does support simultaneity; however, the issue may occur infrequently and may be caused by the simultaneity. Once I have the hardware again, i will try the following:
    a. Remove the WriteSettings.VI. This will isolate whether it is the writing of the settings or the starting/stopping of the camera session.
    b. Remove simultaneity. I will make sure I only have one camera session open at a time. I am curious if this will cause any other issues since I am repeating this many times at a fast rate...opening and closing camera sessions that is.
    3. Again good examples. The most applicable is probably the IMAQdx - Four Cameras. Again though, I have tried running just acquisitions and I do not get errors. One difference I spotted is that the buffer size is 10. So the other test I will run would be to:
    a. Increase buffer size to 10
    Any other info is appreciated.

  • Basler USB3 Vision Error

    Hello all,
I have a Basler acA4600-10uc camera. It has USB3 Vision interface. I'm having problem on snapping/grabbing frames on NI MAX.
I installed the IMAQdx drivers, and the camera can be seen with IMAQdx driver under Device Manager.
When I open the MAX, I can snap 1 frame with this camera. When I try to snap a second image or grab, gives a timeout error. After that if I try to change camera attributes, gives USB3 Vision error. I couldn't understand what the problem is.
It's working fine on my laptop(workstation) but it doesn't work on my desktop.
    System specifications:
    - Motherboard: GA H67MA USB3 B3
    - Intel core i5, 2.8 GHz
    - Etron USB 3.0
    - VAS 2015_02
    Thanks in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I think the same way as Eric, the Etron card is the problem, but I can not be sure of it.
I'm using it with software triggering. It is generally taking the first image properly, but it is not always the case. Sometimes, it does not take even the first frame when I pull and plug again the USB3 cable. I tried to increase the timeout, changing the data format (8bit,12bit, YUV, Mono etc.) and other possible camera and acquisition paramaters but it didn't worked out. Also I have got 4-5 different types of errors until now.
So, all of these are indicating for me that USB3 controller is the problem. Also I learnt that Basler USB3 Vision cameras didn't worked with one of the models of Etron in acquisition tests.
Thank you for your helps. I will be waiting for a few days to see if anyone has encountered with same situation. After that I will mark this topic as solved.

  • Bt vision error

Hi we moved to a new house 4 months ago and finally just had all our services connected (phone, bb, vision). Vision was turned on last Friday but the on demand keeps showing the v04 error, so over the last 8 days ive been ringing up, gone through the troubleshooting by myself and with techhelp staff. my bb speed is 8mb so enough for on demand and keep getting told to wait 24 hrs and it will be working so 192 hrs later and still no luck. So is there anyone out there that can shed some light on this matter.
    Thanks

AFAIK, the most common reason for the V04 error is lack of Bandwidth. Now, your available Bandwidth is NOT your Sync Speed. It is the speed that your line "Profile" has been set at by BT. BT set the Profile to the highest speed that your line an reliably support and this may be quite a bit lower than your Sync speed.
You appear to still be within the "learning" period so your profile may be set too low. This may correct itself during the learning period but if the problem persists, I would contact the help Chat line and ask them what your Profile is set at.

  • Error V04 - Every title.

    Hi chaps.
This week, our box has been displaying this message on every title.  I rang the support number on Saturday, and did all the usual things, to no avail.  Powerline adapters have been reset, hub reset, box reset, speedtest done and ok.
When this didn't resolve the issue, I was told something would be done to my line and I'd get a call back, however this hasn't happened.
Figured I'd try here to see if it'd be more successful.
A slightly amusing aside, I called the support number from the hub phone, and when he told me to reset it I mentionned that it would disconnect me.  I was assured it wouldn't, but knew this not to be the case.  Anyway, when it reset I got a call back, with the confused operator wondering what had happened.
Anyway, I hope we can find a resolution to the V04 soon, getting quite a bit of earache about it!

i may try that, but to be frank the experience so far has left me wanting to bin the whole thing. reading around the threads BT vision doesn't seem to be that reliable, and the service centre is rubbish.
i have a simple freeview box which has been fine, if it wasn't for the wife being impressed by a BT cold callers lies we wouldn't have had this at all.
i like the broad band service and the phone connection both have been no problems at all for the last 11 years, this seems like a product too far
No problem Rik it is a very good service once you get it set up. I had even more problems than you have had and it took a long time to get it all sorted out but thanks to the equivalent of the MODS on the old board it got sorted and since then I have marvellous service even when dealing with problems. That's why I am happy to share what I have learned on here.

  • BT Vision Error O3

HAD ERROR MESSAGE CO3 ON OUR BT VISION SINCE LAST SUNDAY.
TRIED TURNING EVERYTHING OFF, RESETTING, WAITING BLAH BLAH BLAH.
RANG CUSTOMER SERVICES WHO ASKED US TO DO IT ALL AGAIN STILL NOTHING.  PASSED US TO NEXT LEVEL.  TOLD ME THAT IT WAS AN ACCOUNT PROBLEM AS THEY WERE UPDATING OUR PACKAGE.  WOULD COME BACK TO US WITHIN 72 HOURS.
NO CALL RECEIVED SO RANG AGAIN WEDNESDAY AS STILL NO SERVICE.  WAS TOLD OH YES YOU HAVE A PROBLEM FROM A TECHNICAL PERSON!!!! WE WILL CALL YOU BACK WITHIN 24 HOURS.
STILL NO CALL.  NOW BEEN TOLD NOT EXACTLY SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS OTHER THAN ACCOUNT HAS BEEN UPDATED........SPOKE TO SUPERVISOR WHO TOLD US IF NOT FIXED BY TOMORROW MORNING WE COULD CANCEL OUR SERVICE WITH NO CHARGES.  ASKED FOR THIS IN WRITING BUT DIDNT WANT TO DO THAT.  ASKED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER WHO PROMISED TO CALL US BACK IN HALF HOUR.  THIS WAS VIRTUALLY 2 HOURS AGO.
I HAVE BEEN DISCHARGED FROM HOSPITAL TODAY AND HAVE GOT TO REST FOR 3/4 DAYS AND AM UNABLE TO USE A SERVICE THAT WE PAY FOR.  ITS DISGUSTING.
HAD A PROBLEM LAST YEAR WITH BT WHEN WE MOVED FROM SKY.  STARTED THE COMPLAINTS PROCESS AND WAS GIVEN A DIRECT LINE NUMBER AND EMAIL ADDRESS.  I CONTACTED THEM SEVERAL TIMES USING THIS BUT I CAN ONLY PRESUME THAT THEY MUST HAVE LEFT THE COMPANY AS I RECEIVED ONE RESPONSE AND THEN NOTHING.
THIS IS NOT THE SERVICE THAT WAS EXPECTED FROM BT AND WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE A CALL FROM SOME SENIOR STAFF TO CONTACT ME TO DISCUSS THIS PROBLEM IN DEPTH................

The mods will usually be back within 24 hours (I know that's not ideal given your recent experience) BUT once they have the reins they usually ride the problem down pretty quickly.
Best of luck and let us know how it goes

  • BT Vision error CO3, the time it takes to resolve.

    Hello
Have had BT infinity and vision installed on the 26th, which is also the activation date. BT engineers came and connected my new broadband and so far has worked great, very quick and very pleased. I then fitted the vision box myself and I have the error code CO3. I called the help desk and was told to try again tomorrow as it can take a while to activate. I called them today on the 27th as it still does not work, in all fairness who ever I spoke to was as helpful as he could be, after a while on hold I was informed that the system is not seeing the line as activated, which is why the vision box will not work. I was then told this could take up to 48 hours to resolve as it was a technical issue, why, why does it take so long to sort out. I have been waiting weeks for this system to arrive and be fitted. Why can't you speak to the engineers who operate the system directly and get it sorted out immediately, and if not why can't they give a specific time for activation. To be honest we are all disappointed so far, as much as I hate SKY, when they tell you its on, it's on. Come on BT.

    Hi, Welcome to the forum

  • Vision error

    hello............
We are using Evaluation Version of NI vision, I am facing a problem while building EXE of my project, NIvision popup's an error "  Upgraded Evaluation version".
    please suggest me a solution.
please tell me the details about the licensed version  of vision .i am using windows 7 OS and LabVIEW 2010 32bit.

I'm not 100% sure but I think that one of the limitations of the evaluation version is that you can't build an EXE.
That means you will have to carry on using the source code to use your application.
If you wish to deploy your application to another computer, even if you could build an EXE you would need a run time licence for VDM (vision development module) to be able to run your application.
    Hope this helps

  • FLIR A2600SC IR camera connection problems with NI-Vision - error code 0xBFF69011

Hi, hopefully someone can help me out with a connection problem I’m having with a FLIR A2600SC IR camera:
The camera is detected by NI-IMAQdx in MAX but when clicking on the camera (to browse) it just comes back with error code 0xBFF69011 “Unable to get attribute”. Reading through the Forums, there is a file: “SC2600_1_0_0_8FC7DBB4.xml” which tells MAX what attributes to ask for but the files has quite a few lines and trying to figure out which line is causing the problem seems to be a daunting task.
I used the Camera Validator Utility that ships with NI-IMAQdx and it detects the camera just fine but it also comes back with an error: 0xBFF69012 “Attribute value is out of range”. These two errors lead me to believe that I need an updated (xml) file for this camera. Any ideas of where I might get it?
All FLIR drivers and software packages are installed and their software works just fine with no issues.  LabVIEW and NI-Vision software are updated to the latest available and are running on a Win7 (x64) machine.
Any help or comments will be appreciated!

    Kozby,
The "PacketSize" value is located in the "devicename.xml" file that MAX loads up when initializing the device. Search in "c:\Program Files\National Instruments\MAX\Assistants\"USB device name"; normally it has the same name as displayed in the device tree under MAX. Use an xml editor or NotePad++ when changing values in the file; XML syntax applies.
When MAX detected your USB device and loaded it, it created a folder for the device in its directory, and saved all the necessary files needed to access said device. So, look at all the xml files in that folder and one of them will have the parameters.
The way I figured out which parameter was causing the issue, was by comenting out the configuration parameter that I tought most likely to be the culprit and running the device to see if the problem went away. Once I pinpointed the offending parameter then continued by changing its value until I got the device to work properly. For me the "PacketSize" was the culprit because it was set to a size not allowed by the IR camera. MAX was expecting/requesting a packet size (video grab) bigger than what the camera could grab/send and MAX or the IR camera was erroring out. Also, look at the documentation for your device and find the packet size it send during TCP/IP communications (for my IR camera it was 1408).
Make sure to use xml syntax. To comment out a line in an xml file use "<!--  "parameter data"  -->" where "parameter data" is the line you are commenting out.
    Best regards,
    Opus20

  • Error V04 and Currently Unavailable

    Hi Guys,
This is my first post here on the new forums.
I tried to access an ondemand movie last night and received a V04/Currently Unavailable error. Its still doing the same this morning. So far, ive reset both the homehub and Vbox, and tried other content. My Internet connection appears to be working fine. Any ideas? Ive never had a problem accessing content before
    Thanks
    Andy

Is this the same on all content or just on the OnDemand Movie?
If it is try a line speed check test it may be that your line has dropped in speed???
I would give them a call.
The only time i ever recall this happening to me was when the Edinburgh node went down and we were long lined to a London node meaning the connection was realy ropey.

What character set are you using?  You need to create one if you haven't.  OCR is basically a form of pattern match.  Here is thread describing how to do this:  http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/how-to-create-character-set-file/td-p/1130815
Have you seen the OCR examples in the NI Example Finder?  Go to Help>>Find Examples... and then type in "OCR" in the search.

I feel stupid asking if anyone knows what an unknown error is... but anyway, if anyone has ever seen such an error with NI-IMAQdx.
It happens at "IMAQdx Start Acquisition.vi". I'm a using Dalsa GigE camera if that helps and I have LV2010 + VDM 2010SP1 and VAS August 2010.
Thanks in advance for any help
When my feet touch the ground each morning the devil thinks "bloody hell... He's up again!"

    I have seen this.
When a connection is first made to an unknown camera the first thing that happens is that an xml is downloaded from the camera.
the xml is generated by the camera and contains information for a client (like labview) about which features this particular camera has.
The particular camera I had reported features in the xml, that was actually not available from the interface..
hence when labview tried to enable the features, this error occurs.
Sometimes you can get the camera to work in MAX (Tools->Measurement & Acquisition eXplorer)
And then determine which attributes causes it to chrash.
Sometimes you cannot, and needs to modify the xml...
