  • My IPhone 4's mailing feature does not display the toolbar at the bottom for deleting, moving, or writing emails. What is wrong with it?

My work recently decided to buy every full time employee an IPhone 4 to be used for work purposes. (I do suspect these are refurbished, but I don't think that matters) I have had no trouble with it, except for on occasion the mailing feature does not display the toolbar at the bottom for deleting, moving, or writing emails. You know what I'm talking about...that bar at the bottom of the mailbox when you open an email that you use to delete, respond, forward, move, etc. It just goes away for no reason, and then reappears for a day or two, and goes away again. It is quite annoying since I can't respond to any of my emails without getting on my work computer. If you have any suggestions, please help!

    Hi there,
You may need to force close the Mail application when this happens. The next time this happens, use the steps in the article below to coles out of the mail application.

  • Yahoo mail redirects my email page to another trap page that asks me to upgrade. Is there an extension I can use to redirect from that site?

I would like to know if there's an extension, or if I need to write a script so that Firefox will stop a redirect to a trap yahoo page, that yahoo causes when I try to access my yahoo mail account. Yahoo redirects from my email page every time I try to access it. I can force my way back to email if I highlight the following from the address bar and delete it: /neo/trap?dm=cl&ncrumb=IvdoOqzobdy&.rand=1254591153
That address qualification appears when I try to access "mail.yahoo.com"
If there is no extension I can use, can you explain what I should use to write a script? And where I can research to learn how to write it.
If you could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

ok, you could use the greasemonkey extension & this userscript: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/113518 (i haven't tested it myself, but judging from the description it may apply to your case)

  • TS3988 How can I change my iCloud ID? I moved and the email I used to set it up no longer exists.

I want to correct my iCloud ID as the email address I used to set it up will no longer exist when I move.
If I delete the account it says will delete all my contact, calendar, etc. data from my device and I could not deal with that.
How can I change it and save my data on my devices?

I have already changed my Apple ID, but now I need to change my ICLOUD ID.
I can delete the iCloud ID, but then it tells me that it will delete all the data from my device - calendars, contacts etc. which would be totally unacceptable. One of the other threads says you can select save my data, but unless that option is buried it does not appear on the deletion screen.
So the question remains - how do I change my iCloud ID to a valid email address.  The one I used to set it up will go away in a week when I move and cancel my present Internet service.  Comcast doesn't provide service where we're moving so the email address will go away.

  • Setting up yahoo as my default email...

I'm trying to set my macbook up so that when I click on an html or email address I'm taken to yahoo mail instead of .mac mail. I don't have .mac so everytime I try sending an email by clicking on someone's email address I'm taken to .mac where I get errors and end up having to cut and paste the email address then go to yahoo and send my email from there....HELP!! I can't find an answer to this anywhere.

    > everytime I try sending an email by clicking on someone's email address
    I'm taken to .mac
This doesn’t make sense. You appear to be calling “.mac” the Mail application included with Mac OS X, which is actually a standard POP & IMAP mail client that can be used to access any mail account that provides POP or IMAP access...

  • I can't gey yahoo mail to send email- it says something like not connected to server?

I Cannot get yahoo mail to send emails. I wonder what step I missed during the sort up process?

    Howdy msmantila,
It sounds like you cannot check your Yahoo email on the iPad. I would recommend the troubleshooting in the following article to help get that resolved, named:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Mail
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3899
Tap Safari and load a webpage. If you can load a webpage, then your device has Internet access. If you can't load a webpage, check your Wi-Fi connection or try a different Internet connection:
    Try a different Wi-Fi connection.
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If the affected email account is provided by your Internet provider, see if your issue is resolved while connected to your home Wi-Fi network.*
Log in to your email provider's website to make sure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Make sure your settings are correct using Mail Settings Lookup.
    Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Tap the affected email account.
    Tap Delete Account.
    Add your account again.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • BT Yahoo mail downloading historic emails in dupli...

Without changing any settings, my BT Yahoo mail account is misbehaving when receiving emails in Outlloook.  Rather than just receiving the latest emails, The BT Yahoo server is attempting to send all my historic emails, oldest first.  So I see a progress indicator of (e.g.) "Receiving Message 2450 of 12356".  After a time, it gives up and starts again, so I have multiple copies (10 or 12) of emails from last year, but never get copies of the latest emails.  What's going wrong? Problem started after 1900 yesterday, first that failed to be received was just after midnight today.

Yahoo has been proven to be an inherently insecure unreliable email provider which is why BT are moving away from it.
Can you point me at any official BT statement that confirms the statement in bold above.
To my knowledge BT have never stated this and most of the evidence suggests that the reasons for the move are different from this.
You're right of course. But then what BT SAY and what the real reason was, may not be entirely the same. The announcement was indeed wrapped up in positive spin, and of course, any mention of security issues would have been legally very unwise.
Icould illustrate from other "spun" BT announcements in the midst of public furores and adverse publicity, but I'd probably be removed from the forum.
The whole Yahoo (global) email mess has been very obscurely covered in the press, from around 2011 onwards. It was a global phenomenon, and different partner ISPs have reacted in different ways. I think there was only one ISP, a New Zealand one, who were reasonably transparent about what was going on - although their early statements were the same as BTs. I don't think to this day, there has been any clear admission of what was going on or why, from Yahoo! It was by and large, blamed on customers, but I think there were plenty of customers who had clear evidence that they had NOT done the things yahoo accused them of, including those whose "dormant" unused yahoo accounts were still compromised. I think in the end it was blamed on a cookie issue affecting logout which left accounts in a vulnerable state.
    http://www.nbr.co.nz/article/telecom-yahoo-xtra-mail-phishing-problem-fixed-ck-135637
You are right, BT never openly said they were dumping Yahoo because of the security issues, and that was certainly commented on by the press, and greeted with some scepticism by those of us who had been following the stories, and the timing of BT's announcement. I understand the ICO decided to take no action - no surprise there then.

So the Telegraph and other journalists clearly made their own minds up?
The most BT would say was this:
    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/05/31/bt_ditches_yahoo/
BT wouldn't give The Reg any reason for binning Yahoo!, other than to say that it was "always looking for ways to improve and develop products and services".
"We want to give customers a website where everything is in one place. BT Mail will be more closely integrated with BT.com and customers will only need a single identity - the BT ID - to sign in to email and to other services on BT.com," a spokesperson said.
Of course, having that single identity to login to a variety of sensitive services such as phone accounts, TV accounts, parental controls, BT billing account administration and up to eleven email addresses may not the brightest idea with respect to security? But there we go - that's the official reason BT have given. Bless 'em.

  • Moving some Inbox Emails to subfolders leaves a duplicate copy in the inbox

Hi All hope you can offer some advice on this strange issue we are having.
We have recently installed a SBS2011 server. During installation I updated Exchange to SP3 (which we always do)
We created .PST for each user and imported email using powershell - all Imported across successfully.
The one user have 4gb of email which is made up of inbox and subfolders.
The issue we are having is this  -
When this user attempts to move an email by either Drag n Drop or Rt Click and MOVE to folder - the email appears in the moved folder but also stays in the Inbox (in effect creating a duplicate)
Now - If I then move the one that appears in the sub folder to another folder - it moves without leaving a duplicate in the original subfolder ......... the one in the inbox is still there though.
I tried logging off and back in - the email is still in both places.
I deleted the one in the sub folder and the one in the inbox disappears as well ??
I have tried it in OWA and Outlook 2013 and the problem still occurs.
I have tried sending a 3mb email into the admin account and re-creating the issue -- but this seems to work fine...
So in summary - its only happening on some emails for some users ...
Can anyone suggest a starting point for this.... I know its real strange behaviour for email and something i have never come across before
    Kind Regards
    Stuart

    Hi -
This is what I have tried as advised.
    1. Created a new .PST file of a users account using outlook 2013
    2. Tested that all files move ok when opening the .pst ---- YES they do
    3. Deleted emails from users Exchange account using powershell
    4. Opened Outlook and confirmed all emails were gone - YES all empty.
    5. Re-Imported from local .PST file using outlook on the PC to Import into mail account.
    6. Once all folders are updated - tested the emails that were causing problems moving - Problem still the same.
I have checked Exchange and can confirm that this is Exchange 2010 SP3 with Rollup 7 (so culdnt get any more up to date)
Can anyone else please offer any advice / Tips?
Remember this only happens on some emails in the inbox ....some emails move just fine.
The ones that seem to create a duplicate - if I delete from either the inbox or the folder then both go ...so its almost as if its a ghost copy being created......i'm flummoxed though for sure..
    Regards
    Stuart

  • How to use Yahoo Mail to send email using email links on webpages

When I'm on a webpage that has a link to send an email, I cut and paste the the email address (which is the link) and paste it into my Yahoo Mail address bar. However, some webpages don't show the email address as a link. Instead, the link might be "write me" or "send mail", so I can't cut and paste an address.
If I click on an email link, a window pops up that says "Welcome to Mail" and it states that the assistant will guide me through the steps to configure my email account. To get started, this assistant requires a password that I don't possess.
So I'm stuck not being able to access an email application that I don't want to use in the first place.
Is there a way to set up my computer so that I could click an email link on a webpage and have Yahoo Mail pop up?
If not, is there at least a way to send an email using an email link that doesn't show the email address, without using (what I assume to be) the Apple mail Application? If it is necessary, how do I recover the password for the mail assistant? I'm not aware of ever having used or set up a password before.
    THANK YOU

If you don't want Mail to open, don't click on the app.  If it's opening at login, right click its Dock icon>Option>de-select Open at Login.

  • Since I updated Firefox I have to constantly re log-in to my Yahoo account such as email. Every time I leave the page I have to log-in to get back into it. I also run OPERA and I do not have that problem with them. I stay logged in. Any suggestions?

I have windows Vista and have the updated version of Firefox. I also can run OPERA and LUNASCAPE with no problems. When running Firefox I have to constant re log-in to my Yahoo account every time I leave the page. For example: I log in to check my email on Yahoo and then leave my email page. Then when I return to recheck my email I have to log in all over again. I can't stay logged in. If I run my OPERA browser I stay logged in for days without having to sign in all over again.

  • Yahoo just updated my email and now the buttons on the left side are letters, not buttons. What happened and how do I fix it?

I like my Yahoo email, but they just updated it again and things are different again. Where there used to be buttons on the left side of my mail page to select for move, delete, or whatever, now there are rectangles with letters in them. They act the same, but are very distracting. How do I change it back so there is just a box to check?

Those missing icons are actually supplied by a font that is downloaded from the server (@font-face) as you can see by the little boxes that show the hex code of the characters.
You can check the <b>gfx.downloadable_fonts.enabled</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page and make sure that it is set to true (if necessary double-click the line to toggle its value).
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

  • Moved hosting of email and now can't send or receive emails

did a search on the forum but can seem to find a solution to my problem.
so has any one ever had any problems with removing an email account (with estreet) and then adding a new account (with Dreamhost.com) to a blackberry?
it is the same email address but we moved the hosting last night.... vocapr.com
My client can't send or receive email but isn't getting an error message ... just nothing is happening. She can send and receive via Outlook and on my iphone.
we also did a hard reboot but it still won't send or receive emails.
    Please advise.

    Hi,
If your using BIS - Log into your BIS account and delete the email address and recreate it again - the email server details  are pointing to the wrong email server.
If your using BES ,then the BES needs to get the correct Mail Server details - Delete the user form the BES and add them back, then reactivate the Handset.

  • Yahoo Mail - Canot receive email via Inbox

Yahoo mail is set up on the iPhone and has been working just fine until around 08.24. After that I can no longer recieve email through the Inbox, it just grinds away checking email for ever. There are 3 unread mesages on Yahoo that have never been downloaded. The Bulk, Trash, Sent work just fine and shows "Updated" when complete.
I have tried turning off/on and resetting.
    Thx.
    mlkrandj

Well, since you mentioned getting mail before then your settings should be fine. I myself would say that perhaps there is something going on with the mail server in your area. I myself am not having troubles with yahoo email on my phone at this time. If I were you, if it last for very long, I would call tech support for at&t.
My god, I just noticed that it stopped working way back on 8-24. Call and find out what the heck is going on. Did you mean 8:24 a.m., or the month and day 8-24?
