BUG: Image Not Automatically Resized
Reported bug to Adobe; am sharing report with RH community.
OS: Win XP SP 2
Product: RoboHelp HTML 6
Output: WebHelp
******BUG******
Concise problem statement:
Steps to reproduce bug:
1. Capture a screen; save as GIF on Desktop.
2. In RH, insert GIF into a topic.
3. Insert GIF into a second topic.
4. Recapture the screen from Step 1 (due to product change,
screen content and size changed). Save capture as GIF to Desktop
with same name as before (overwriting prior image of same name).
5. In RH, return to first topic and double-click the image
in the topic. In the image file path, point to newer image on
Desktop and click OK. Confirm overwrite wihen prompted.
Expected results: I expected RH to insert the newer image
into the second topic and update image size.
Results: RH did insert the newer image into the second topic
but RH did not update image size.
Hello Gunslinger -
That is not a bug and it is operating correctly. Here is why
(example)...
You insert an image of size "640x480" in topic one and RH
saves the image into the project folder and writes the proper topic
one HTML such as:
<p><img src="IMG_1129.jpg"
x-maintain-ratio=TRUE
style="border: none;
width: 640px;
height: 480px;
float: none;
border-style: none;"
width=640
height=480
border=0></p>
You repeat the steps above on topic two and the HTML is
writen:
<p><img src="IMG_1129.jpg"
x-maintain-ratio=TRUE
style="border: none;
width: 640px;
height: 480px;
float: none;
border-style: none;"
width=640
height=480
border=0></p>
Now you resize the image, return to RH and insert the resized
image into topic one and the HTML is written:
<p><img src="IMG_1129.jpg"
x-maintain-ratio=TRUE
style="border: none;
width: 320px;
height: 240px;
float: none;
border-style: none;"
width=320
height=240
border=0></p>
BUT the SECOND topic still has the previous size specified
(640x480). Size is written when inserted, not from the image
property when the project is enerated.
You need to delete the second topic image and re-insert with
the new size image, then all will be well.

GEWB

Raw images not automatically rotated since SN upgrade
Since my update to Snow Leopard, my Sony Alpha Raw portrait images are not automatically rotated when importing into Aperture 2.1.4.
The same problem is visible from the Finder.
It is a Mac OS Raw support problem I guess?
Anybody else? On another Raw format?Yes. Same problem here since SL: When importing images shot in portrait orientation from a Sony A700 using RAW or cRAW format, they appear in landscape orientation in Aperture ('sideways'). This is annoying, adding another pass in the workflow to correct orientation. This issue does not occur with A100 RAW formats; orientation is preserved correctly.
Any other experiences with this issue? Any solutions?

BUG - Images not being generated
Something I just noticed...
I'm using RoboHelp for System User Guides. For each screen in
the System, I have a topic. In this topic is a screen shot of the
screen. To save space on the topic I decided to try something new
and link to the image through a "Custom-Sized Popup". Of course
RoboHelp doesn't list images in the "Select Destination (file or
URL)" -- even though it states files should be listed--- anyway, I
have to manually link to it in the "Link to: " text box.... So
that's fine... I can go into the Image Properties, Used In tab, and
it lists the page it's linked from.
Everything
seems to be in order.
I try and test out my newly created link. I generate the
WebHelp output of the project and load the topic. I click on the
link and imagine my shock and dismay when I find -- what's this --
a 404 ?! What's more, all images I've linked to this way are
not included in the output!
It seems that RoboHelp, in it's infinite wisdom, decides that
since this image isn't being directly linked to from any topic, it
will save space and not create it in the output..... The quick and
easy workaround is to create a topic which includes all the images.
With this topic created, the images will be created in the output
and the image link will work.
I thought this post might come in handy for someone who gets
stuck with the same problem
Adios

Idea for future release of RoboHelp:
- Include images in the "Select Destination".... or at least
remove "file or" from the label as files are not listed.
- Include images in the output if they are linked to
anywhere in the project.Colleagues:
I've found a method for RH to get you halfway there.
You can import an image as a baggage file and find it in the
hyperlink dialog (link to file, navigate to the imported image).
This is a lot faster than
1. Creating a new topic (name, properties, etc.)
2. Deleting the boilerplate
3. Inserting an image.
Still, RH won't self-size or let you self-size the popup
window.
For this you need to insert some Javascript code into the
HREF string. You can do this either inside RH Truecode or in the
output files. Either way, you have to do it for every image you
want to pop up in a custom window.
So you're trading one chore for another.
A couple of benefits, if you consider them so:
An image in a popup window will shrink and expand (up to
original size) when you resize the window. You can't resize an
image in a topic popup.
The javascript specifies window attributes. An image-only
popup doesn't need menu, navigation, status and tool bars, just the
corners that close and resize the window.
If you are (or anyone else is) interested in trying this,
please reply here and I'll post some suggested code.

Text caption height in responsive project is not automatically resizing
Hi all,
I have a Captivate 8 responsive project in which a text caption is not behaving properly. When I get down to smartphone-sized screens the width of the text caption reduces with the width of the device. But, the height of the text caption does not increase accordingly to fit the content. The text just gets cut off at the bottom.
I've tried the Auto height setting for the object size, but this scales the text down within the boundaries of the text caption. I would like to maintain the size of my text and have it grow down the screen the way plain text does in an HTML page.
I also do not want to set my text caption height to 100% because I would like to stack objects beneath the text caption.
Any help or advice is great appreciated.Hi cntdmds,
There's a setting buried in Preferences > Defaults > Autosize Captions that changes all text captions in your file. This has enabled my responsive layouts to work better in Captivate.
Re: creating something reliable: I'm in the midst of creating a large responsive e-learning course. It's been a really steep learning curve and a very frustrating one. I believe a reliable course can be created, but it's a hard journey. (My largest problem is my smart position markers don't stay at their assigned places, but I think I'm on track to solve it... perhaps.)
Yet to see if this whole responsive Captivate adventure will be worthwhile. I hope Articulate adds a responsive capability to Storyline.
Cheers. -
Footer image not resizing in printed documentation
RH11
Does anyone know why an image inserted into a footer master page is not automatically resizing to the width of the printed page when applied to a print layout and output to Word? If you insert an image into the body of a topic or a master page and generate printed documentation, the image automatically resizes.
I'm trying to insert a high-res footer image (300 dpi) into my footer so that it appears on every page, but at the moment it's being embedded at full-size.
Thanks
JonathanFirstly, your better off using liststyles than paragraph list styles, I screwed around a long time before I had to set everything to liststyles rather than paragraph ones. So dont worry about that.
The first issue, of not seeing the style - it is there, if you open the Styles tab on screen (click in a topic to get the cursor, then Format > Styles), not just the dropdown like youve shown youll see a list of all your styles, almost, it will show paragraph styles, click the drop-down and select All available styles, this will display your list styles as well!
Im not sure about the style settings, I have the same text setting applied in my list style as I use for my 'normal' text. Though I think you can select the text in a list and apply a paragraph style to it....i just tried and it worked, but to be on the safe side you might want to set the text formatting in the list style css too..
mine looks like this
li.NumberList {
font-family: Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 10pt;
color: #524C45;
list-style: decimal;
margin-bottom: 6pt;
margin-top: 6pt;
As for printed formats not indenting lists, this is an issue. So far I have found no way around it because you cannot map a list styles in RH to a list style in Word. This has also created errors for line spacing and indents - and I found the indents are severly messed up when using list styles in snippets. Everytime I create printed documentation I have to manually fix it, a pain but it doesnt take too long....you could use macros etc to speed it all up for you.
Submit a Wish Form.
Hope it helps.

hello again...
I would like to have a background image (.jpg) automatically resize to fit any browser's window...& I read somewhere on the web it should be accomplished by placing the image in a layer (as a background image); & then set the layer size to 100%.
can someone please tell me how the coding goes for this...?
[or...if that is in fact the correct approach? I don't care if it's html or css...I just want it to work. (&...I'm starting off w/ a larger image (so resolution doesn't get lost when going bigger)]
thanks very much,
mark4man
btw - I should add that it's the image's WIDTH I'm interested in resizing...while it's aspect ration remains in tact.http://css-tricks.com/how-to-resizeable-background-image/
For the record, I'm not a big fan of huge background images on web pages. They take forever to load on slow connections. And some mobile devices won't display them at all. So all that weight just for eye candy is kind of a waste IMO.
I think the safest, most practical way to achieve backgrounds that fill available viewport is to use a small, seemless tile and repeat horizontally, vertically or both.

Premiere CC Sequence length not automatically changing to last asset content.
For some reason my Premiere CC sequence is stuck at 12 minutes while the actual length of my assets is only 2.5 minutes. It's not automatically resizing to the location of the last asset on the timeline. What might be going on?
Where are you seeing the sequence duration reported as 12 minutes. The screenshot you posted gives no indication of duration. Please post another that shows the Program Monitor +/or the Project panel (with the Media Duration and Video Duration columns visible).
Edited to add: Okay, I think I see what has you confused: the Timeline extends to about 12 minutes. That has nothing to do with the sequence's duration. It's basically a function of the zoom level. If you press the minus key a few times, the Timeline will zoom out farther still.
To check the actual duration, check the time shown at the lower right corner of the Program Monitor. Note that if In/Out points are set in the sequence, the duration shown in the Program Monitor reflects the trimmed duration. If you want to see the full, untrimmed duration, either clear the In/Out points or consult the Media Duration column in the Project panel. -
Default Image Rendition or resize image automatically
We use the column Rollup Image and have the blob cache enabled to use image rendition.
Is it possible to use this publishing image column with a default rendition (not full size) so the user has not to choose the rendition (or cannot choose it)?
Or what would be the best practise to get automatically resized Images? By publishing Image column or better by JavaScript?Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to you want to know about how to use PublishingRollupImage Column to display a default image rendition and how to get automatically resized images.
Firstly, I suggest you can use the automatically resized in the rollup publishing image column. As the image renditions will choose for different device such as mobile phone, if they display as a default rendition, then it can't be enlarge if user want to
see more clearly.
About how to get automatically resized images, you can get image with RenditionID using Jquery.
Here is a code snippert for your reference:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.microsoft.com/ajax/jquery/jquery-1.7.1.min.js" />
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
$image = $(".article-content").find("img");
$image.each(function (i) {
var imagesrc = $(this).attr("src") + "?RenditionID=5";
$(this).attr("src",imagesrc);
</script>

Ever since I had updated my phone to ios 6, i noticed that it no longer saved photos to my camera roll. If I take a picture on Instagram, it will not automatically save it to my camera roll as it used to do, nor does it save any image, I just want it fixed.
To gdgmacguy your a f****** idiot for one I'm having the same problem as pennymar. And you tell me to quit whinning. You got more problems then the iOS 6 you did not answer my question nor the other 13 or whatever you replied to within a 30 min time frame. You must got nothing better to do then to harass people and to pretend you know something about apple products. Which you don't from what I've read the other advices you should have gave to other people. But you didn't you replied a question back to the people asking a question. So if your not gonna use these community forums the right way don't use them at all.

I have had this ongoing problem. I cannot get images to automatically load in mail. Instead I always have to click the load images button. I click on a message, click load images, the images load. I click on another message, then back to the message with the images and have to reload them.
In preferneces I have turned the View>Load remote HTML images on and off and on again, and rebotted multiple times. It makes no difference. The images do not load.
I checked Little Snitch, but all ports are open.
My firewall is set to let everything connect to mail. Even just turning off the firewall does not solve the problem.
I tried removing com.apple.mail.plist but that did not work either.
This problem occurs in Mail on a MacBook Pro and on a MacBook Air both using the newest version of OS Mountain Lion. The problem happened in OS Lion as well.
The senders are in my contacts, so that doesn't help either.
This is not an issue with the serve sending the images. The images load if I click load images. They just will not automatically laod.
I've read tons of posts but no one seems to know how to solve the problem.
Does anyone have any other ideas?I am not sure how to link these discussions, so below I am pasting the post that helped me. And here is the link:

This is not a problem specific to Lion, but most recent OS X versions. Regularly I receive email formatted as HTML, which includes JPEG images embedded within them. These images are technically attachments, and as such, Mail.app displays them as a placeholder. Other mail apps will display these images inline, regardless of them being an attachment, remote image or otherwise.
How can I make these images load automatically?
MacBook, Unibody, Mac OS X (10.7), 750GB, 7200RPM WD HDD, 4GB RAM
This solved my question by louse101 on Jul 26, 2011 3:47 AM
No-one replied, but I found a solution on another board. Run Terminal (do a Spotlight search if you don't know where to find this), and type:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool false
This will force Mail not to disable inline attachment viewing. Obviously, to reverse this, simple replace 'false' at the end with 'true'.

when ever i click a picture in photo booth it does not automatically update its content is this a bug or i don't know how to do it?
whenever you click a picture in photobooth you have to manually insert it one by one in iphoto
i want to know is there any other option in iphoto which can do this type of thing(adding pictures automatically to iphoto )
so that i do not have to do it manuallyOnce you take the photo with Photo Booth, select the photo in the tray at the bottom and click on the iPhoto button just abouve and to the left:
Click to view full size
That will import the photo into iPhoto automatically. But PB does not import any and all photo taken into iPhoto automatically. That choice is left to the user.

My images will not auto resize for viewing
This is somewhat embarrassing. When viewing images from the web, if they're too large to fit the current window, they get re-sized to fit. Okay. I have a file/page of thumbnails generated by XnView and when I click, the image is loaded, everything is good except the image is always larger than the window. The problem is Firefox WILL NOT auto-resize the image to fit. If I right mouse, I can select "View Image" to view whole image, but I don't want to have to do that for 1000's of images.
Any help/insight would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm new to this and for some reason my images are not appearing to full scale on adobe premiere cs6. This is really annoying as I am trying to make a stop motion video but I can't see what I'm doing. Please reply soon, this is an important project. Thanks
Your sequence settings and clip settings are not matching. To make them match, right click on a clip and choose New Sequence from Clip and a new sequence will be created based on your clip settings. -

I haven't watched that video, but if you move photos in your operating system ... Lightroom does NOT automatically find these photos. Finding photos that have been moved is NOT a feature of Lightroom. So, there is no fix for this.
You would have to tell Lightroom where the photos are now located, as explained in the link from 99jon
If you must move photos, move them inside of Lightroom, not in your operating system, or better yet — don't move them, and use Lightroom tools such as keywords and other metadata to achieve organization. -
Image automatically resizing when moved onto a new tab
When I'm moving a picture onto a canvas, it is automatically resized to a very small size. I wish only for the picture to move onto the canvas, then still keeping it's size. Afterwards, I wish to resize it myself using ctrl + t but the automatic small size is preventing me from making it better size, and less pixelated.
Does anyone has a solution to turn off this automatic resizing?What resolution is the canvas and what size is the image (in pixels). Go to Image > Image Size...
