Bug in an app

I purchased an app from the Mac App Store to download the "Holy Bible Audio Book" to my iMac. It worked the first day, then stopped working afterwards. It said failed download and there was no audio. I emailed the seller and still waiting for response. I finally saw one review regarding a bug in the app download. Should I call my credit card company to dispute this purchase? Or wait for the seller respond? This is the first time I make a purchase and don't expect this happen.

From what I can see, the app is free so there should be no action on your credit card ... with one possible exception.   If this was your first purchase you may have had a temporary authorisation charge applied. Insofar as the failed download is concerned, download it again and if it fails again contact the developer.

    I had heard that these switches didn't stack unless everything was identical.
    I only tried it at all out of pure desperation.
    I've applied and tested every version 3 firmware in standalone mode via a console cable and xmodem.
    They either never come up properly receiving decompression errors and reboot constantly in a loop.
    Occasionally they stall / jam and stay there displaying the same error with no rebooting.
    And twice out of 80-100 times I got it to boot to the username and password screen in standalone mode.
    But as soon as I made a change it crashed and started the rebooting cycle again.

    I've not heard of or experience any such issue.
    Have you tried removing and readding the accounts in question?

  • Question RE: Button Items and Item Buttons - from "Bug Tracker" Demo app

    I've retrieved and installed the "Bug Tracker" Demo app from apex.oracle.com and installed it in my space as I've interest in recreating the custom search bars this application contains (I can't use interactive reports because it appears a bug prevents the ability to remove the "hide column" functionality which is a requirement for me).
    I'm perplexed with how the developer of this demo app was able to create an item of type "button" (not normally available as an item type when creating items) and how buttons were created with the sequence value of "Item" versus a sequence number.
    How do these interact?
    I'm a fairly new developer and as these methodologies are not readily apparent with 3.2's "normal" functionality, I'm quite intrigued to understand how this was accomplished.
    I've been looking at this demo app for 2 days in hopes of learning this on my own - still at it but not there yet. Any help you kind folks can provide would be certainly appreciated!

    I actually figured this out shortly after submitting this post (and confirmed by your post). I had never used a button as "Create a button displayed among this region's items" (versus "Create a button in a region position") before. That apparently is the difference.
    My inexperience simply did not allow me to recognize the difference in how apex treats how buttons are created given this choice differentiation.
    One more notch in the belt!

  • IOS6 bug in music app

    After upgrading to iOS6 on my iPhone4 the music app no longer has a "Add all" option on the playlist/album/tracks screen.
    Bug or feature?

    Funny I found a LOT of posts everywhere (just google Modular) about the same thing. and it seems that it's "a feature" of the media controls in Control Centre that is not pretty well accepted by a lot of us.
    Maybe it is your phone the one is not working properly or you're just writing back cause you have plenty of time.

    Just do that yourself:
    Go to Safari or Facebook (youtube app doesn't apply to it)
    Watch a video/audio clip there
    Lock your phone or whatever
    open your Control Center and you HAVE to see "Safari" or "Facebook" or whatever app you last used to play media
    Press on play and it will obviously not resume playing
    If you are on Safari for example and still have the page with the media link active, it will show the link but not resume it; you can close the page or even close safari, and in control centre you'll see "Safari" and clicking on Play won't resume anything.
    I hope you try it, and if it doesn't shows on your iPhone, then you'd better be going to an apple store and get it checked up.

  • When I had 10.6.8, itunes would leave a left over amount in itunes apps.  When I got the upgrade to 10.7 I thougt the problem would go away but it did not.  There is a bug in the app system and I think it should be resolve quickly.

    When I had 10.6.8, itunes would have a left over amount in itunes apps, it would show you would have 8 apps that need to be updated.  I would got to up date them and there would be no apps to up date.  2 days later I would go to up date apps and it would show I have 15 apps to update when I really have 6 then it would add on more invisable apps to which is not there.  There is a bug in itunes that needs to be fixed please fix this app section.  I have sent letters about this before and you did not listen.  I a beta tester  and I hate it when my requests don't get fixed.

    You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
    Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
    If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
    Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
    Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above.     Today I finally found out how to reproduce a bug on my iPhone,
    which I had already a serval times.
    The Bug is not worse, it just kinda looks cool.

    _*Well,to the first Description of the bug*_
    Sometimes after a call I put my iPhone back into my Pocket,
    after taking it out again i activate the screen with the Power or Home Button,
    then unlock the Screen as usual, but what is that?!
    My first screen is black! There are no apps anymore?!
    It only shows the status bar on the top and the apps in the Dock.
    When i switch then to the second Screen, the apps appear normal there.
    Back to the first, the page is still black/blank...
    Then I switch to the SPOTLIGHT PAGE and I see the _Photo Library_ App.
    OVERLAPPING the search field! ***?!
    I switched of my screen, reactivated it, unlocked the iPhone...
    EVERYTHING went back to NORMAL again O_o ?!?!
    _*Today I found how to reproduce it*_
    I had a phone call where I needed to search back a note on the phone
    while I was still in the call of course.
    Later after that call I had the bug again! But I remembered myself,
    always I had this bug I locked the screen on the "credit balance notification"
    which appeared on the first page (not over the call screen because I closed
    the call screen before to search a note and I did not went back)
    So I reprocued it, I will now go step by step, so that you can try it too:
    -First activate the "credit balance notification" after every call (you need this else you cannot reproduce, I hope your provider allows you to do this)
    -Now call yourself on another phone and take off, now it is important to push the home button to change to the first page! Then you can hang up.
    The "credit balance notification" should appear now over your first page.
    DON'T DISMISS IT!
    -Deactive the screen by pushing the power button.
    -Reactive your screen and unlock your phone... there it should be...
    *THE BUG!!!*
    -After deactivating an reactivating the screen, it should be gone again.
    _*Additional and Feedback*_
    Important to get this bug is to have such a notification appearing over the first page. If you know another way to get such a notification without calling yourself on another phone, let me please know.
    I hope you can give me feedback and experience on this bug,
    so I will send it to apple after I have some confirmations.

    It is a notification comming from the provider. Actualy it can be everything from them, it has nothing to do with balance (neither with push notifications).

    Important is to have this notification "popup" appearing over the first page,
    then lock the screen. Like i told you it is a bug in the iPhone OS, I just need confirmation.

  • Possible Bug in Mail.app

    I am running a server and clients -- all at 10.4.4. The mail app on the clients Version 2.0.5 (746/746.2).
    I have been tracking down errors in my imapd log file. The errors are:
    Feb 5 00:18:05 EaseServer imap[23046]: IOERROR: reading message: unexpected end of file
    You can find various people asking for help on this but no help. I believe I tracked this down. It is not an imapd problem but a Mail client problem.
    When the client wants to add a file to an existing mail box on the server, it does an APPEND command. The "literal" at the end of the command can take on two forms: { number } or { number + }. The second is called the "non-sychronizing" form.
    By default, this is supprted by imapd (and advertised) and used by the client. In this case, the client is suppose to not wait for the server to reply with the "go ahead" response but just blast the message across the wire. Well... it does not. Instead, you get a pregnant pause and eventually imapd times out and rejects the request. The client, eventually, may even crash from all this but, for sure, it will provide a very poor user experience.
    The work around I did was to download CyrusIMAP from the OpenDarwin.org. In cyrus_imap/imap/version.h, the CAPABILITY_STRING advertises LITERAL+. If that is removed, then imapd does not claim to support it (even though the bug is in the client). This prompts the client not to use it. And things appear to work much better.
    I know virtually zilch about IMAP protocol, cyrus, Mail.app, or imapd -- so, someone needs to verify all this.
    The thing that is curious to me is why I hit the problem and others seem to be working fine. There are a few people that have noticed the problem but, they seem to be the exception and not the rule...

    I have tracked down my problems to a call to sasl_decode in prot_fill (in imapd).
    To recap: I am getting IOERROR: unexpected end of file in my imapd log file. The client interface is also slow and sometimes crashes.
    It turns out that if the client has Kerberos GSSAI authentication and the client tries to do an "APPEND" command (which is what the imap protocol uses to add a message to an existing mailbox), the APPEND frequently fails (but not always). The rest of my Kerberos stuff appears to be fine.
    The APPEND is sent across to the server. The client can be set up to do LITERAL+ or not. The client sends all of the message in either case. The server reads all of the packets. Usually the first packets go through the sasl_decode and result in valid text. But after the first block (4096) or so of data, the remaining data is lost and sasl_decode reports back that there is only two valid characters. No errors are reported back (that I am aware of).
    I ended my quest at this point last night and I probably will not pick it up again. For now, I can work around the problem by switching to plain authentication and just set up a VPN before using mail.
    I hope this helps whoever follows in my footsteps...

  • IPhone 5 two bugs in photo app.

    Sorry, don't know where to submit bug reports... hope this place is okay.
    Bug #1 - photos are not properly fit to screen.  To see this, take a screenshot of the home screen, or, say, of your favorite video game on the iPhone 5.  Now, look at that photo in the photo app, and double-tap it as needed to "fit" that photo to the screen.  You'll notice black space at the bottom of the photo, and the top part of the photo is off-screen.  So, if you took a screenshot of the home screen, the "menu bar" (or whatever it's called) will be off-screen.
    Bug #2 - the "cancel" button that comes up in the delete menu doesn't work.  Try to delete a photo, then hit the cancel button.  You'll see the button is only barely functional - only the top sliver of the cancel button seems to accept input.

    #1 was in reference to screenshots, not camera photos.  Screenshots should obviously be the same aspect ratio as the screen.  In any event, fitting a photo to screen (even if it has a different aspect ratio) should not cause part of the photo to go off-screen.  I'm not talking about "letterboxing" here... the black space in question is ONLY on the bottom of the photo, not the top - the top part instead goes off-screen.  That is definitely a bug, and I have verfied that I don't get that bug in on my old iPhone4 (updated to iOS6.)  I don't have a 4S so I can't test it on that.
    I have also verfied that bug #2 does not happen on my iPhone4.

    After selecting 'not going' for an event, the event got deleted from the app, but it keeps on showing on the live tile
    I tried switching off and on many times, but w after deleting the event from calendar, it shows itself on the live tile

  • BUG REPORT: Social App v1.3.237 poling data connec...

    Social (version: 1.3.237) on Symbian Anna (Software Version: 22.014) on Nokia N8 (Product Code: 0599001)
    Prior to opening the Social app data connection usage is normal, but when the app is closed again the data keeps being poled. Every few seconds the data connection (either 3G, GPRS or WiFi) will disconnect and then connect again. I have been able to repeat this bug 10 out of 10 times including after reboots of the phone. The only thing I have not done is hard reset the phone or re-install the firmware.
    This version of the software was installed using Software Update on device. This install was straight after the Software Update install of two part Symbian Anna update which appeared after updating the device FW from PR1.2 to Symbian Anna. The two part update included the install of Internet Radio.
    I hope this information is of use as the version I am having issues with is a public release and the only way to stop the data connection poling is to reboot the device. As soon as you open and close the Social app again the data connection poling starts again. Whilst the app is on the data connection is constant on as expected.

  • Bug in Video App ios7

    I have noticed when you delete a video from within ios7 the Video Application crashes. Just one of the minor bugs that need to be worked out.

    Go to Settings>ITunes and App Store>Show All>Music>Off and also Videos>Off.

  • Bug in Mail App in LION

    Just the other day, my hard drive depleted to the point of 54MB and I got a warning that my start up disk is full and I need to delete files. I found that strange since I have about 200+Gig available, the last I checked and did not do any new downloads.  But I deleted a bunch of stuff anyway, and restored my size to 9 Gig. 
    Next day, same message. I knew something is wrong, called Apple and discovered that there is a bug in the Mail app.  For some reason it created a Recovered folder in the Mail folder that just kept copying over and over again.  The tech told me it's a bug but no clear direction on how to solve it and/or when.  The only thing we did was delete that file and my space was restored.  I was told that is all I would need to do for now and I should be fine.  Well, today, again my HD is depleting and sure enough, there is that recovered folder again.
    Anyone else with this problem?  Specifically, it appears to be doing it with my Yahoo mail.  I'm thinking I should delete the account, start over.  If anyone has other ideas or if it's a settings thing in Mail  or Yahoo pop settings, please let me know.

    It's not related to a third party app. I don't have any.  The tech was able to pinpoint the folder in the Library/Mail/V2/Mailboxes
    He said they have had reports of this bug and he went directly there. So they must be aware of it.

  • Bug in Notes app?

    Does anybody know if there is a bug in the Notes app that comes on the iPhone?
    I opened a new note and typed "Shopping", hit return and typed "Hy". The little helper box shows "By", but I want "Hy-vee", so I hit the numbers keypad and type the "-". It then changes my word to say "By-" in the note. So I hit the backspace key three times. Once it deletes the "B", it freaks out and keeps deleting the rest of the characters in the note.

    Thats true.. Its not just By- Type any Uppercase letter followed by any lowercase letter and a "-", delete these three and there u go.. it deletes the entire note... STRANGE are the ways of Apple NOTES !!

  • Extremely annoying App Update bug in iOS App Store

    Previously when iPhone in 3G mode, iOS App Store will not download any update that's more than 20MB, even when I tapped on the "Update All" button.
    However, starting from iOS 4.3, this is no longer the case. Whenever I tapped on the "Update All" button, iOS App Store will just try to download all () even though some apps are more than 500MB. To make things worse, iOS App Store will prompt me saying the apps I'm trying to update is > 20MB so no update will be downloaded for the apps, but it already marked those apps as "Waiting". There's no way to cancel this other than cold reboot the iPhone.
    This is very annoying when I have several apps to be updated, and one of which is the app that I'm using often. I won't be able to use the app until I can find a Wi-Fi to try to complete the update.
    Please, please, please fix this annoying bug!

    I have this annoying experienced too, my friend have 69 apps waiting for update, when I click update last night, over 30 apps are not usable and I have to wait the download process.  What's worst is that I and my boyfriend uses different account. The update just keep prompting different password - and keep saying its a different store.  annoying. Apple un the upcoming 5.0 should fix this user at once!
