Bug(?) : task.getAttachment().getTaskId() returns instanceId

Hi, Since BPM 11g released, I have been doing tests with this new suite, mainly about Workflow Service API.
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/apirefs.1111/e10660/index.html?overview-summary.html
We can use this API to control processes.
When I try to manuplate process attachments and comments, I found this bug(?).
I get a task instance using the task query service and call:
task.getAttachment().getTaskId()
which actually returns the instance id of the BPM process.
And I don't know how to get the process instance with this id.

Hi, Mike.
In the case I described, task.getAttachment().getTaskId() returns a String like "50016",
which is same as the return of task.getProcessInfo().getInstanceId().
However, task.getSystemAttributes().getTaskId() returns a String like "69c5a3af-5995-4ad0-b9ea-d32617c6cb50", which can be used in ITaskQueryService.getTaskDetailsById(IWorkflowContext ctx, java.lang.String taskId) to get a reference.
In my use case, I want to record attachment information in storage so that I can download an attachment with a specific record.
The key to achieve this is to record the taskId of the attachment.

    1. Call transaction SMQ1 and check whether all queues in all clients (client = '', queue name 'MCEX') have been processed. To process the queues, start the collective run report for each application in the displayed clients. If you no longer need the data in the BW system, deactivate the relevant extraction queues and DataSource in the LO cockpit (transaction LBWE) and delete the queue entries in transaction SMQ1.
    2. If you use the V3 update that is not serialized (usually only for application 03): Start collective run report RMBWV303. Then check the update orders in transaction SM13. If there are incorrect update orders in transaction SM13, correct the orders and then start the collective run report again. If you no longer require the update orders, you can delete them. There may be inconsistencies between tables VBMOD and VBHDR. For further information about this, see Notes 652310 and 67014.
    3. Before the upgrade, delete the contents of the setup tables. Execute report RMCEX_SETUP_ENTRIES to find out which setup tables still contain entries. You can use transaction LBWG to delete the contents of the setup tables for all clients.
    Unfortunately the check that the system carries out during the upgrade or when you import a Support Package does not display all affected applications. Therefore, Note 1083709 provides a check report that you can use to determine all affected applications and tables or queues.

  • Web service task: Error when returning an empty array

    Hi,
    I've encountered an annoying error when using a Web Service Task from an SSIS package in SQL Server Data Tools.
    [Web Service Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebserviceTaskException: Could not execute the Web method. The error is: Index was outside the bounds of the array..
       at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebMethodInvokerProxy.InvokeMethod(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection)
       at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTaskUtil.Invoke(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection, VariableDispenser taskVariableDispenser)
       at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTask.executeThread()".
    It seems that the Web Service Task generates this error when returning an empty response from the WSDL. I've seen several topics about this here on MSDN but they are all from 2008-2009 and seem to suggest that
    this is a bug.  The workaround suggested is using a script task but I would really love to avoid that since my programming skills are lacking.
    I'm using Visual studio 2010 with SP1.

    Hello,
    From my own experience: in all the cases where I had to use SSIS 2008 to retrieve data or send data to Webservices, I had to revert to using Script Tasks or Script components. Whenever I tried with a Web service task, because the job looked simple, I had
    to abandon it in favour of Scripts. Keep in mind that I try to make use of the SSIS components as often as possible, before reverting to Scripting. But handling web services is the one exception, where I always use scripts. In SSIS 2012 I did not find
    any significant improvement of the Web service task and hence no compelling reason to use it.

  • Bug Report - DB toolkit returns error when calling the DefaultDatabase property with SQLite

    There's an old bug in the DB toolkit where calling the DefaultDatabase property returns error -2147217887 if you're using certain DBs (such as SQLite or PostgreSQL and I believe MySQL as well).
    The problem is that this property is called by a VI which is used in some of the commonly used VIs (such as the insert VI),
    causing them to fail. Whoever wrote the code was aware of this issue,
    since they added a comment about it, as you can see below.
    The immediate fix for this is pretty easy -  add code to ignore the error or don't call the property at all. It's not used anywhere in the toolkit and unless you're using the VI yourself to get the property, this won't break any code. The problem with this is that you need to do this in every PC.
    NI already has a CAR for this (CAR 232063) and should hopefully fix it, so there's no need to take further action at the moment. This post is for people searching for this in the future.
    Try to take over the world!

    Interesting. I have seen this before but it returned a different error code. (Error -2147352567)

  • Task.getProcessInfo().getProcessName Returns null -Oracle SOA 11g Worklist

    Hi,
    Im working on building custom worklist application using oracle SOA 11g Java API .I 'm able to query a list of tasks from the BPM server. But, When I try to find process name by invoking task.getProcessInfo().getProcessName() it returns null even I specify PROCESSNAME in my column list.Do i have to specify anywhere else except query columns ? What could be the reason?
    Thanks,
    Govindh

    If BPEL don't timed out, you can have Human task in Synchronous BPEL process.
    For this, you can have your synchronous reply before any Human task call back receive activities (this causes the timeout) or you can just create human task and no other call back receive activities.
    Thanks

  • PDW : DWLoader in Execute Process Task, Success Value return code

    Hi,
    I'm using SSIS Execute Process Task to call DWLoader.
    It seems the Success Value return code is 2.
    Which is working fine except that after all data are loaded in my table a 0 return code is sent.
    And so my task fails.
    Any idea how to handle this ?
    Thx for your help !
    Regards,
    Bertrandr

    My understanding is - When DWLoader process returns 2, everything goes fine but in another case it returns 0 then task fails.
    You can Set: FailTaskIfReturnCodeIsNotSuccessValue
    to FALSE so that task will not care about return values
    But in case of any other error such as syntax - save
    error in MyVariable and verify if MyVariable != ""

  • [Minor BUG] - Tasks Window does not have an Accelerator.

    I was trying to use the "Tasks Window" to go through my sources on the project and check my //TODO's and //FIXME's. When I was about to set an Accelerator for it, I see that it wasn't listed under Accelerators. Not only that, but also, when I selected the Task with the keyboard, the ENTER didn't take me to the source code.
    So, my best choice to get to a Task was:
    - ALT+V, then W (Tasks Window), !!!TAB!!! (which is a pain to not have the focus directly on the tasks), select the task with the Arrows, Press the Context Menu KEY, and then select Go to Source...
    In the end, it turned out that I was better off with the mouse. :-(
    And while we're at it, maybe you could add an Accelerator to "Go to Next Task..." :-)
    Eventhough, I still have to congratulate you guys for JDeveloper is a great tool.
    Thanks

    Sergio,
    I filed an Enhancement request so this gets tracked. Its not a bug because it is a missing feature.

  • Bug: 1st Date value returned from CF function as an Array

    I am encountering an annoying behavior in Flex.  I call a CF function to return a query into an arraycollection - very basic.  If the SELECT statement in the CF function includes any dates as returned values, the first date in the SELECT statement comes back into Flex as an array object that includes all of the fields in the query.  The other dates are returned normally as Date data types.
    This started happening a month or two ago, and I've reproduced it on several machines.  Needless to say, it is causing numerous errors when my code excpects a Date and gets an Array.
    Do you have any ideas of what might be causing this and what I can do about it?
    Thanks!!

    I'm not sure where to post it, but here are some snippets:
    in the cfc, I have a function as such:
    <CFFUNCTION name="GetPersonLog" returntype="query">
        <CFARGUMENT name="STUDENTID" type="numeric" required="Yes">
        <CFQUERY name="qry" datasource="#connection_string#">
            SELECT tblStudentLog.STUDENTLOGID, tblStudentLog.STUDENTID,
            <!---GETDATE() AS TESTTHIS,--->
            tblStudentLog.LOGDATE,
            tblStudentLog.LASTUPDATED,
            tblStudentLog.LOGENTRY
            FROM  tblStudentLog LEFT OUTER JOIN
            tblStudentDiscipline ON tblStudentLog.StudentDisciplineID = tblStudentDiscipline.StudentDisciplineID
            WHERE tblStudentLog.STUDENTID = <CFQUERYPARAM value = "#studentid#">
            ORDER BY tblStudentLog.LOGDATE DESC
        </CFQUERY>
        <CFRETURN qry>
    </CFFUNCTION>
    You see I have a REMmed out line to get a test date.  If I check the results in CF using cfdump, all dates come back as dates.
    In flex, the handler for the call to this function is simple:
            private function PersonLogHandler(event:ResultEvent):void{
                personlog = event.result as ArrayCollection;
                CursorManager.removeBusyCursor();}
    If I stop the code here and evaluate the results in debug mode, I find that the LOGDATE result is an array of values, while the LASTUPDATED field is a date.
    If I put back the GETDATE() AS TESTTHIS, statement in the cfc function, then the result includes LOGDATE as a date object, but now the TESTTHIS result is an array.
    I have experienced this on 2 different machines, and it has brought my development to a standstill.  I can't thin of what changed to start these problems, except that I am now using the FlashPlayer 10 (with debugger).  This happens in Firefox and IE.  I am using FlexBuilder 3 and Coldfusion 8.

    387561,
    For your information, I discovered this problem from
    running a query that did access an actual DB table.
    Try it and let me know.I did say I was only guessing, and yes, I did try it (after I posted my reply, and before I read yours). And I did check the query plan for the queries I tried -- to verify that they were actually doing some database "gets".
    In any case, the usual way that I determine whether a "ResultSet" is empty is when the very first invocation of method "next()" returns 'false'. Is that not sufficient for you?
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • ADF task flow return redirect to page?

    Hello, I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
    I have build a task flow (bounded task flow) in my application and I want to redirect on task flow return, to another page from the application. This page is not part of the flow. From what I am reading till now everything I found is to call another task flow on return, but I do not need this. I just need to redirect to a specific page. Can anyone help on this?
    Thank you

    Thanks but is there no possibility at all to navigate to another page within the aplication (not of the same task flow)? I was thinking something like FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().redirect("Page1") on action method on a button of the page; But I am getting an error saying that can not find the Page1.

  • Bug in Entity Framework: No rows returned with criteria.

    Bug: Oracle fails to return rows with lambda criteria on string field from varchar2 column in view.
    Steps to reproduce:
    Create view:
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW "PHILIP_TEST" ("ROWNUMBER", "DRIVER") AS
    SELECT
         ROWNUMBER,
         DECODE(DRIVER,CHR(2),NULL,DRIVER) DRIVER
    FROM FLIGHT
    WHERE SCHEDULEDDATE = TRUNC(SYSDATE);
    Rownumber is unique key (number), Driver is varchar2(7).
    Create C# console application in VS2010
    Add Entities Model and add view.
    Add this code to Main()
    var context = new Entities();
    // Test code start
    var allrows = context.PHILIP_TEST.Where(x => x.DRIVER != null).ToArray();
    Console.WriteLine(allrows.Count());
    // Select first driver as criteria
    var driver = allrows[0].DRIVER;
    Console.WriteLine(driver);
    // Test code end
    // This line fails to return any rows
    var result = context.PHILIP_TEST.Where(x => x.DRIVER == driver).ToArray();
    Console.WriteLine(result.Count());
    Console.ReadLine();
    Add some test data to flight.
    Run it!
    The expression with criteria x.DRIVER == driver should return at least 1 row. It doesnt.
    Running the following from SQL Developer returns records: Conclution the view is fine.
    SELECT * FROM PHILIP_TEST WHERE DRIVER = 'MJA'
    If definition of DRIVER column in view is changed from: "DECODE(DRIVER,CHR(2),NULL,DRIVER) DRIVER" to just "DRIVER", then code returns rows as expected.

    are you sure your two select statements can't be combined to one query with outer join?
    if the outer join is possible, after creating the query, it will have one group with all the fields/columns you selected.
    drag the columns you selected in the personal info, outside the group.
    this should enable you to have one query with two groups, a master (personal info) and a detail (monetary calculations).
    your first frame will have the master group as source, while for the second the detail. now, the "Value if Null" should work.
    if the outer join is not possible,
    create one query with only the personal info. in the group, create column formula to get the monetary columns (you may need to create place holders if selecting multiple columns)
    drag the columns you selected in the personal info, outside the group.
    this should enable you to have one query with two groups, a master (personal info) and a detail (monetary calculations, you CF_ and CP_ columns).
    your first frame will have the master group as source, while for the second the detail. now, the "Value if Null" should work in your CF_ and CP_ columns

(I am omitting many of the pages from the bounded task flow to keep this post shorter. If I can get this first page to return to the unbounded task flow, I can copy it forward.)
    My problem is when running from the unbounded task flow, I cannot seem to configure the bounded task flow to return to the login page inside the unbounded task flow, which called it, without a 404 error.
    Unbounded task flow:

    Jdev version is 11.1.1.2. WLS is 10.3
    Currently trying to get it to work on the Integrated WLS before deploying an ear to the console.
    I don't know how to configure security, but here is the piece from my web.xml:
    <filter>
    <filter-name>JpsFilter</filter-name>
    <filter-class>oracle.security.jps.ee.http.JpsFilter</filter-class>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>enable.anonymous</param-name>
    <param-value>true</param-value>
    </init-param>
    </filter>
    Also,, I'm finding these hash entries in both Model.jpr and ViewController.jpr:
    <hash>
    <value n="id" v="BC4J Security"/>
    <value n="isJDK" v="false"/>
    </hash>
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm way behind on this deliverable...

    Is the task-flow-return the ONLY way to pass values from the bounded to the unbounded task flow?
    Or is it possible to use a control-flow-case inside the bounded task flow like this, that refers to the unbounded task flow to navigate from the bounded back to the unbounded task flow?
    <adfc-config xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller" version="1.2">
    <task-flow-definition id="task-flow-definition">
    <task-flow-call id="adfc">
    <task-flow-reference>
    <document>/WEB-INF/adfc-config.xml</document>
    <id>adfc</id>
    </task-flow-reference>
    </task-flow-call>
    <control-flow-rule id="__41">
    <from-activity-id id="__42">ContactInfo</from-activity-id>
    <control-flow-case id="__43">
    <from-outcome id="__44">logout</from-outcome>
    <to-activity-id id="__45">adfc</to-activity-id>
    </control-flow-case>
    </control-flow-rule>
    I've tried every conceivable way to navigate from the bounded task flow, to the unbounded task flow, and the only consistent thing I receive is a 404. Is this a security issue?
