Folder of playlist doesn't open or close are they should be. clicking on the little arrow doesn't open nor close the folder.

Bug with subscribed folders?

I'm pretty sure this is, or at least considered to be, a bug in Sun's IMAP implementation that comes with JavaMail 1.3 but I'd like other people opinions first.
If I have 3 folders:
INBOX
INBOX.Foo
INBOX.Foo.Bar
and I am subscribed to INBOX.Foo.Bar but not to INBOX.Foo when I call listSubscribed() in the INBOX Folder instance one of the returned folders will be one for INBOX.Foo . The instance for INBOX.Foo cann't not be opened which is correct BUT if you call isSubscrbied() on that isntance it returns true. Sniffing packets you'll see the follwoing conversion where the first line is from JavaMail, the other two are from the mail store.
A984 LSUB "" INBOX.Foo
* LSUB (\Noselect \HasChildren) "." "INBOX.Foo"
A984 OK Completed
According to secion of 6.3.9 of rfc2060: "A server MAY validate the subscribed names to see if they still exist. If a name does not exist, it SHOULD be flagged with the \Noselect attribute in the LSUB response."
And according to secion 7.2.3 of rfc2060 \Noselect in the response is defined as "It is not possible to use this name as a selectable mailbox." but I saw nothing stating if this imples the folder isn't subscribed.
I haven't tried it yet but I expect calling listSubscribed("*") on the folder instace for INBOX to return an array including an instace for INBOX.Foo.Bar but not for INBOX.Foo.
Being that this seems to be an undefined case about if INBOX.Foo should return true to isSubscribed() in the rfc but it seems reasonable to me that it should return false. Should I file a bug report?

Bug with playlist export as .txt file

Hi,
I'm trying to send to a friend a playing with titles from the music store. I try from a pc or from mac and this the same problem : my file is empty...
The export work for titles i have but don't work for titles selected on the itunes music store. This bug appear with the 7.4 release...
Thanks to tell me if i have some other possibilities to do that.

You have to have BOTH the Music store and the playlist open in separate windows for this to work.
Go to the Music Store.
Double click on the little icon to the left of your playlist name. I has a little music note in it. This will open a new window for your playlist.
Go back to the Music store window and find the tracks you want. Select them and copy the selection.
Go to the playlist window and select Edit>>Paste and you should be able to paste the tracks into the playlist.

Bug with swc folders and library projects?

Hi guys, hope someone can help here. We are just in the
process of starting a fairly large flex project and we were trying
to work out a solution so that I as a designer can view and edit
custom components with visual styles applied.
Now I know that you aren't meant to add a style tag into the
component but it was working for me and I could at least preview
the styles in 'design mode'.
The problem arises though when you have a large project with
shared assets across projects. I had 3 projects set up in my
workspace:
Project 1: Library project with css files, swc and graphics
Project 2: Library project with components for Project 3
Application
Project 3: Application project
What I did was to add a external source folder to Project 2
& 3 both of which was Project 1. So far so good, the css loaded
into my application from Project 1 and I could view my styles in my
custom componants in Project 2
But, I needed to add swc files for custom buttons etc in my
application. So, I thought I would just add an swc folder source to
my build path in both my Project 2 & 3 which referenced an swc
folder in Project 1. Well, it did work and I could view everything
fine but (and here is the main problem) this corrupts the
workspace. Once Flex has closed and tries to reopen my workspace it
hangs, same if I change workspace in Flex from another workspace to
this one.
Can anyone help? Is this a flex bug?

Copying Playlists and Playlist Folders from iTunes to an iPod

I have my music library structured in iTunes with Playlist Folders (for Composers) which contain Playlists (for Works). Now I am having trouble duplicating this structure on my iPod.
Just after Playlist Folders were introduced in iTunes, the iPod (mine is a 160GB Classic) didn't support Folders at all. But in some later version suddenly it did. Great! Everything seemed fine. But now, when I try to copy a Playlist Folder by Drag and Drop to the iPod, on the iPod it ends up just as a Playlist (not a Folder), at least as seen by iTunes (v8.2.1 (6)). Actually on the iPod itself, the folder structure (under Composers) is displayed but iTunes shows the entry just as a Playlist. I've tried disconnecting the iPod and restarting iTunes but that didn't help.
Am I doing something wrong in the copying? Can anyone suggest how I can copy Playlist Folders to the iPod so that iTunes displays them as Plalist Folders there?

I did use the "Copy to play order" command as you described. The problem I have is that, although the play orders all look fine when seen from iTunes (both for the music library and when looking at the iPod), on the iPod itself the order is not correct. Understanding "Structure" may be part of the problem. Maybe I'm trying to do something that is impossible. I have built my private structure in iTunes, using Playlist Folders for composers and then Playlists (within the Folder) for each work of that composer, e.g.
-Playlist Folder: Wagner
--Playlist: Wagner - Das Rheingold
----Track 1
----Track 2
--Playlist: Wagner - Götterdämmerung
----Track 1
etc.
That works fine (for me) in iTunes.
On the iPod, though, you get something similar via Composers but I don't really believe that the iPod is using my structure. Rather I think it finds the composers via the Composer tag in the "songs"/tracks and then makes groupings depending on the album. That works out similar to my structure, for I define albums for each work. However, I'm not really convinced that my playlists as such are used at all on the iPod, even after syncing (as evidenced in the example where I had two playlists in iTunes with the same album name and they were merged when seen on the iPod).
That aside, it still doesn't explain why the play order is sometimes (but not always) mucked up when looked at directly on the iPod, when the same work's play order looks fine when the iPod's contents are displayed by iTunes.
At the moment I remain confused and puzzled. I won't now be able to follow the problem further till after the weekend but maybe next week I'll try deleting the playlists which are causing me trouble (with the play order) and redefine them, to see whether the confused play order happens again.

Bug with on the go playlist?

I have a nano 2g 8GB. Docs say click and hold the button on a song, album, artist, or playlist to add to the on the go playlist. However, i find that only click and hold on song actually works. I just took the 1.1 nano upgrade and checked again and this is still the case.
Seems like bug to me.

Bugs with 10.4 (80), 6 and counting...

I've downloaded the last iTunes version (I´m running Leopard 10.5.8), and since I've found 6 annoying bugs:
1. Already discussed in here, "Drag & Drop" feature is not working anymore, at least for me to create new playlists. With previous versions I just dragged the Finder folder to the top left side, just between the "Music" section and the RW / STOP / FFWD buttons , and the playlist would be created with the Finder folder name automatically. Nothing happens now.
2. No additional iTunes windows will open after I close and re-open the application. When I use iTunes I´ve got a few other iTunes windows opened (some playlists, etc.) and they used to remain opened when I re-launched the application. Not anymore.
3. If I Drag some songs to a playlist, the Library won't update. I have to add those songs to the Library in order to get the songs there as well. You can try this yourself.
4. Sometimes, and for no apparent reason, search function doesn't work. I type an Artist/Song or Copy/paste it and nothing happens.
5. A few other times, my Playlist Folders, which contains several playlists won't spread out the playlists. I'd need to re-launch iTunes.
6. Sometimes if I quit the iTunes by Q or "iTunes" "Quit iTunes" it doesn't quit, but a pop-up window appears saying "iTunes is updating Album Artwork. Cancel or Quit" when I'm not doing anything of that. If I click "Cancel" nothing happens, if I click "Quit" it won't quit at all... I'd need to Force Quit.
Is anyone having the same problems?

Is there a "real" reason that you are still using OSX 10.5.8? I think that we are being "shepherded" in the direction of Lion.....
iTunes may work in your v10.5.8, but I think it will have some issues....or hick-ups....
I just upgraded from OSX 10.6.4 to v10.6.8 and all is good still.
It's gonna get worse as Lion gets momentum..... might as well get on the bus....

Itunes installs with many folders of the same name,why?

I have uninstalled and installed 3 times. Each time it loads with many folders on left column with the same name. What is resolution?

Do you mean playlist folders or playlists? Reinstalling iTunes does not rebuild the library so it won't tidy up the structure of your library. Recent builds of iTunes have imported any m3u playlists found when scanning the media folders which can cause problems if you've previously generated playlists for all your albums with other software, though in this case the playlists would have different names.
Have you subscribed to iTunes Match? There is a bug that can sometimes create hundreds of duplicate empty playlists. I've two scripts which might help you clean up: KillEmptyPlaylists and KillTopLevelPlaylists. This post describes a technique for resetting iTunes Match to stop it happening again.

The bug still exists in 30EA3.
In new folders for user definded reports only the options "Kopieren" and "Exportieren" (copy and export) are available, when SQL-Deverloper runs in German language mode.
A workaround is to force language to English with the line
AddVMOption -Duser.language=en
in sqldeveloper.conf

I have raised a bug on this issue and I am actively looking into it.

How can I restore my playlist folders in itunes? They are there but the individual song titles aren't listed. They are only listed by album. This makes it very difficult to find songs in my playlist. Also,when I click on music, it will not list options.

It sounds like your issue here is that iTunes can not find the files for some of the songs you have brought into it. This happens occasionally even if the songs have not been moved from the location that iTunes places them on import or purchase. When you try to use the song, iTunes prompts you to find the file, as you have seen.
To find the file, use the information in this article to navigate through the iTunes media folders -

If you are still unable to locate the files, you may need to download them from the iTunes store again, or rip them from your CDs. See this article for assistance with downloading your past purchases -

When I search for a file, A) it asks me if it's a name, or it wont produce anything, and B), its slower than in prior OS versions and in some instances I have to toggle to a different directory and go back to my original directory in the search: menu bar or the search wont produce anything... Very buggy.

It appears to me that network file access is buggy in Maverick.
In my case I have a USB Drive attached to airport extreme (new model) and when I open folders on that drive they all appear empty. If I right click and I select get info after a few minutes! I get a list of the content.
It makes impossible navigate a directory tree.
File access has been trashed in Maverick.
They have improved (read broken) Finder. I need to manage a way to downgrade to Lion again.

I've subscribed to a number of podcasts & they appear in my iTunes window under the Podcasts section.
There i have
2 problems:
1st: I can't rearrange or group them so can listen consecutively to different topics.
I must listen to one, then come to the keyboard and select the next to start playing. Now, I know that I can get them to play consecutively once I've placed them into Playlist folders,
but that brings me to my second problem:
2) I can't drag and drop them into separate iTunes FOLDERS (by topics).
(Though I have been able to drag&drop separate items from my 'Music' section into iTunes playlist folders.)
But can't drag from Podcasts section into Playlists,
as everytime I try they just refuse to go in and scurry back to their starting position under Podcasts.
Zupwidiss? This can't be.
I would be grateful for your solution.
And also grateful if I could have easily found the solution explained
before I had to resort to bothering this forum with this question.

difference between
Playlists and Playlist Folders:
One can only drag things from the Master list into PLAYLISTS.
And can only drag Playlists into Playlist Folders.
I'm an older man, and easily confused by these things.

E71 Firmware Bug with USB Mass Storage.

Hi,
Just got a e71, it has the latest firmware, it's mostly good except for this bug.
If you install a new theme on a memory card and then attempt to use the USB for mass storage it will always lock the card no matter how you disconnect from the USB, it always reports Memory card in use.
What is supposed to happen is the phone is supposed to switch to a theme on the phone memory and unload the theme on the card, it does indeed switch themes, but does not unload the theme on the card, so the only way to free the card is to reboot the phone.
If anyone from Nokia is looking at this forum, you guys need to fix these little bugs with the firmware. A update to the OS the E71x is using would be nice by the way. I paid a lot of money for this unlocked phone and expect it to be rock solid.

I had this problem with the memory card. All you do is set the USB connection to PC suit and not Mass Storage. If it's in PC suit mode you don't loose the memory card and it always let you access it. I never bother with mass storage anymore. Also set to don't ask if you want. I ahve no issues since I di this and am using the 200 firmware.
To transfer files to the card I go into my computer, double click the picture of the nokia E71 and then double click the memory card and access it that way. Hope this helps as it's a pain installing everything on the phone.
Just another quick tip if you download the themes through your phone like me once installed and after a re-start something may try and install and fail once your phone starts up. It will do this everytime you re-start your phone. To fix the issue you have to browse the memory card with 'view hidden folders' selected in Windows and delete certain sis files from a certain folder. I can't remember off the top of my head but it explains it in another post in this forum. I can't take the credit for it.

Metadata&Smart playlist/playlist folders freezing malfunction

This problem started pretty soon after I updated to the latest version of Itunes (11.1)
So, I'm going to try to word this in a way that isn't confusing... but the problem is with smart playlists in playlist folders that are then within another playlist folder. Or I guess it's simpler to say... playlists within playlist subfolders.
For example
Folder: Classical
Subfolder: Mozart
Playlist 1 - concertos
Playlist 2 - symphonies
etc
So, what is happening is that if you try to edit any song's metadata in a smart playlist within a subfolder of a folder, itunes freezes immediately.
If I move the smart playlist out of the subfolder and into the main folder, I am able to edit metadata without any freezing or other problems.
This really doesn't make sense to me... any help out there?

I don't have the bandwidth for iCloud integration for AppleTV, but since my local smart playlists were getting it wrong, I kind of freaked out. I fixed it, though, by moving my iTunes Library.itl from my last working clone of ML to the iTunes folder on my Mavericks installation.
I had updated only a few items since it stopped working correctly, and I had nothing to lose, as AppleTV without properly ordered playlists is basically a sleek hokey puck. I don't know why I break down and finally post the issue here after days of hand-wringing and tears of blood only to then try the one thing I hadn't thought to try before.
If anyone else is having trouble with the smart playlists not ordering properly on Apple TV, maybe this will help. Try replacing the ITL and XML files.
