Bursting report error for BI Publisher

Following is the error i am getting while bursting a report through the BI Publisher Console Scheduler.
Please help.

When we've had toplink errors, we've assumed there's been a disconnect between our scheduler database and BiPublisher.
Stopping BiPublisher and restarting the app clears these errors for us.

Make sure that the output path is proper. Note that the burst file gets copied to concurrent request output path as well, so you can give that path too, instead of the temp path.
ZIP duplicate error is due to a bug as explained in patch 9501440. This happens when you have multiple bursted files to be zipped. This should get resolved if you apply patch 9501440.

I am using Obiee 11g (ver. 11.1.1.3.0) and trying to achieve report bursting. I have created Data model and Report. Report is showing result but once I schedule report by bursting to file,
1. I am getting error (ORA-00923: FROM keyword not found where expected).
2. where I can get bursting fail log?

Crystal report Error for CRVS2010 sp2 using Push Method

I am trying to pass a dataset to a crystal report viewer using SetDatabaseSource.
I have defined in Crystal to used an ADO .Net Database XML Schema.
I pass a Dataset to the Report By using SetDatbaseSourece and set the ReportSource for the CrystalViewer but I get the error that crdb_adoplus.dll does not exists.
Note that Crystal is looking for crdb_adoplus.dll under subdirectory dotnet1. It resides under win32_x86.
Is this a Crystal Report Problem ?
Is their any docuentation that show how to program for ADO xml dataset using crvs2010 ?

Drillthrough report error for AssignedTo parameter

Hello,
I have created PieChart which is generating drillthrough report based on parameter from selected value on PieChart. I am passing two parameters,
Microsoft_VSTS_Common_Severity and System_AssignedTo. I have given "All" as default to both parameters.
Drilldown report works fine with selected value for "Microsoft_VSTS_Common_Severity" and default (All) for
System_AssignedTo but gives an error if I pass any selected value for "System_AssignedTo" parameter.
The error says: "An error occurred during local report processing. Query execution failed for dataset 'datasetName'. Parser: The syntax for 'LastName' is incorrect."
It seems that parameter expects ID as well, something like this: "[Work Item].[System_AssignedTo].&[S-1-5-21-284166382-85745802-1543857936-25120]". How to get this ID for selected user from PieChart?
Any help to resolve this problem?

I have checked your report files, and I found that the @WorkItemSystemAssignedTo
parameter in the RiskDrillThroughTable.rdl is set with a default value which is from
dsSid dataset. And the dsSid dataset is defined with the following query:
SELECT SID
FROM DimPerson
WHERE (Name = @EmployeeName)
So in your report you see that value of the @WorkItemSystemAssignedTo
parameter is SID.
If you don't want to show SID in the @WorkItemSystemAssignedTo
parameter, you need to change the default value of it. (change the query of the
dsSid dataset)
And for your question: How to get this ID for selected user from PieChart? With current settings in your report, I can use the drillthrough report correctly, the
@WorkItemSystemAssignedTo is automatically filled selected user's SID. So I think you should already achieved your requirement.

Report error for certain users

I am having an issue with a report where an error occurs randomly. Here is the simplified run down of the issue.
I have a SRS report loaded to 2008 SRS instance that has 1 dataset that runs a stored procedure which then populates a table in a report. The database is a replicated version of our test database but the OLTP database has not been updated so the data is
the same and has not been changed. I have run the report 100's of times and every time is works perfectly. However a customer of mine runs it and once in a while they get the following error message, "sub query returns more than 1
value, This is not permitted when the sub query follows....". To me this points to a SQL query issue. However if I use the same parameters the customer is using no such error occurs. I have ran their parameters through both the
stored procedure directly and through the report UI and I cant reproduce the errors. Running SQL profiler doesn't reveal anything. I am running out of options so I would like to hear if anyone has any suggestions. I can provide further details if
needed.

According to your description, there is a SSRS report of SQL Server 2008, it retrieves data from a stored procedure. When customers run the report, they get the error message: sub query returns more than 1 value, this is not permitted when the sub query
follows....
According to the error message, there is subquery in the procedure, something like below:
Select * from orders where customer_id = (select customer_id from customer where name ='Bob')
The cause of the issue is that subquery in the procedure returns multiple rows. If there is more than one customer named Bob, there will be more than on customer_id returned, so the “=” operator won't work. To fix the issue, we can use in instead of “=”
or use TOP 1 to return only one value.

Change the Report Title for XML Publisher, depending on the field value.

I want to change the Report Title as below.
if the field_A='B' then the report title as it is defined in report defination
else the report title is 'XXX"
Please let me know whether it is possible, if yes please guide me. how can we do it.

Reseting page number in Word RTF template for BI Publisher PDF generation

Apex 4.0.2, Oracle 10.2.0.4, BIP 10.2
Bills are created based on Word RTF file with BI Publisher. Reszulting file is one big PDF file, which has many pages.
Word RTF template is grouped on BILLS.ID field with page break option. So one BILLS.ID may have one or many pages (according data).
How to create RTF template (for PDF BI Publisher generation) with reseting page numbers when grouping value change.
Page numbers are in footer in format
curr_group_page/total_group_pages
where:
curr_group_page is current page number in group (defined with BILLS.ID field),
total_group_pages is total page number of pages in group (defined with BILLS.ID field).
I need to reset numbering whenever BILLS.ID (group) change.
Example:
ID=1 (4 pages)
1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4
ID=2 (1 pages)
1/1
ID=3 (2 pages)
1/2, 2/2
ID=4 (3 pages)
1/3, 2/3, 3/3
etc.
How to achieve that kind of numbering?

Simple question.. Does your posting deal with an APEX issue or a BI Publisher issue? The posting you have deals with the RTF add-on for Word that builds report layouts for BI Publisher. I suggested in my response that you move it to a more relevant forum..

FO processing for XML Publisher Report Bursting Program

Hello,
I am facing the following problem: if i try to burst a report using XML Publisher Report Bursting Program special characters like (ş,ţ,ă, etc.) in the resulting PDF look strange. I have tried running the report without bursting it and the characters appear just fine (after i've set the FO Processing Font Mapping). My guess is that XML Publisher Report Bursting Program is not using the right font mapping. Have you faced this problem before? Do you have any idea how to set the right font mapping for XML Publisher Report Bursting Program.

So the answer was to make sure the location in the bursting file (location="xdo://schema.template_code.en.US) exactly matches the language/country setting in the uploaded Definition. Then make sure the fonts have been added to the xdo.cfg file matching what your Font Mappings are:

XML Publisher Report Error

Hi All,
I am trying to create an xml report from a standard oracle report. For that, I have copied the standard report's concurrent program and created a custom concurrent program by changing the output from 'Text' to 'XML'. When I run the custom report and took a look at the output of the concurrent program, I see the below error:

I see that the error is because, the xml parser has encountered a charecter '/' in the tag 'DESCRIPTION', which it is getting confused with the ending tag.
The charecter may be deleted if it as the case with the description of one item, but there are numerous item descriptions with / in them.
If this is the limitation of XML Publisher, could anyone please help me with the approach to create these kind of reports in XML Publisher?
