Business Area Blank in Tax G/L A/c in MIRO

Hi Experts,
I am facing a problem, when I am posting MIRO, all the tax G/L like service tax, vat etc are coming with blank business area.
How to resolve this issue, so that the business area reflect on the tax g/l, however in vendor line, gr/ir account business area is coming correctly.
Kindly help me to solve this problem.

Hello,
Please note the following.
You have inheritance active for your document splitting. Please see same via customizing
SPRO -> General ledger accounting (New) -> Business transactions ->Document splitting -> Activate document splitting(Please review the F1 help on the inheritance field).
SPRO ->...Classify document types for document splitting Type  Description     Transaction variant
RE   Vendor invoice   0300     0001
Same as Type KR-> Extended document splitting -> Define document splitting rule

Value of business area will be inherited on New GL view of tax line of posted document not on entry view.
Addition, Please be aware that even with NewGL Document Split functionality active, the interface with MM is basically unchanged from previuos releases. As in previous release and described on note 199886, business area on tax account is always blank. if you want to see GSBER in entry view, you have to run SAPF180 as well.

         I have some issue in MIRO. I have Service tax set off account. When i do MIRO Business area is updated in Vendor Line item, Provisional Items and even in Withholding TAX line item(TDS) but System does not show Business area in SERVICE TAX SET OFF line item.More over , when i see the document in FB03 , in Entry view no business area is there for SERVICE TAX SET OFF  but When i see the GENERAL LEDGER view business is there.

           I have define the substitution as :
    Prerequisite :
    Company Code = 'XXXX' AND Tcode = 'MIRO' AND Document Type = 'RE' (For MIRO) AND Plant = 'XXXX' AND G/L Account = 'XXXXXXX' ( SET OFF ACCOUNT)
    Substitute:
    Business area = 'XXXX'
    But it doesn't work.
    Please suggest.

  • Business Area postings in Tax line items

    Hi Experts,
    As we know that Business Area is not updated in the tax line items, In one our company code we have done BA adjustment through F.5D and F.5E in 2007, after that there are thousands of line items in the system without business areas, now my client wants a tallied business area trial balance from 2007 onwards or aleast to ensure that the tax line items should get business area assignments from hereafter,  and also recently we have created one more company code, Please help how do I ensure that all the tax line items and items with blank business areas get the business area postings. Is there any user exit or any work around available for this... At present we have only one GL for Inter business area clearing for all types of accounts (reconciliation, tax accounts) in OBXM.

    Hello,
    Are NewGL and document splitting active in your system? If yes, you should solve this problem with using splitting function.
    Otherwise, you can use business transaction event 00001120.
    I explained step by step how can you activate BTE 00001120. I give you message below.

    In this exit, you must update t_bsegsub-gsber field which t_bseg-buzid = 'T' for tax item.
    But you can not split tax line items in this exit. For example in invoice you have 2 or more business area, but tax line item doesn't create for each buiness area (If you don't use document splitting functon). So in this exit you can only assign a business area to tax line item which is automatically generate while posting FI document.

  • Business area in service tax

    In India service tax liability amount is derived based on regional (UWK) sale/purchase .
    Service tax GLs are not updated with business area at entry level.But business place is updated against each line items.
    At the time of payment against clearing with open item , one UWK get all open items .
    Hence it is difficult to identify his/her own UWK for clearing those line items with payment. I have checked the possibility of filtering with business area but not by business place.
    Is there any way to search open items at the time of clearing with business place ? customized screen selection is possible for filtering purpose ?

    Do you mean VAT by saying service tax? If VAT, you are correct, VAT lines do not have business area information. It is available by using New GL.
    F.5D F.5E Business Area adjustment may provide similar effect by offset balancing, but this is only summary basis, may not be line by line.
    Strict usage like F.03, New GL would not be sufficient to your requirement. New GL doesn't work with clearing screens, it only work behind FI transactions.
    But the overall need i.e. division balance sheet would be realized either way (F.5E or New GL).

  • Business area assignment for Tax GL

    I have one issue that business area is mandatory for all GL's. Now one sales entry was posted through SD, at the time system shows message that, Tax GL requires business area. How i enter business are in this case?
    Business area, Plant and Division combination is already there.

    i had faced a similar problem a few days back with one of our customers and it took a lot of time to find a resolution to it.
    By Default, SAP will not show business area in the report FBL3N for the tax account in the entry view. however, if you see the transaction in GL view, you will see that the business area is captured even in tax accounts. This is a more cumbersome process.
    Pls use the report FAGLL03 for the particular tax account. Please note that you will have to display the hidden Business Area through change layout screen (ctrl+F8) when you have got the output. You can then filter down the data on a particular field. Pls note that this report will be avialable on SAP ECC 6.0 and is not avilable on the lower versions.
    If this solves your problem, please assign the highest possible points.

  • Business Area & Plant not picked in CIN entries while doing MIRO

    At the time of performing MIRO, the automated entries related to cenvat clearing account for excise in CIN  are made by system.
    At the time of excise capturing the Business Area and Plant are picked up at line item for Cenvat Clearing Account.
    But at the time of MIRO the Business Area and Plant are not picked at line item for Cenvat Clearing Account.
    The client requires the segregation of the entries on the basis of Plant / Business Area.

  • Business area not defaulted for tax line via OKC9 or OBBH

    Hi SAP gurus,
      I had created subsitution rule in both FI and CO, OBBH and OKC9, which did not to default business area into the tax line.
      In OBBH, it was overwritten by SAP standard to blank during debug, OSS explains that due to integration with other sub modules, it does not allow. In OKC9, since tax is balance sheet account, it does not work.
      I had also tick "business area financial statement" in global parameter setting.
      Could any gurus advise ?

    Please help, I have the same problem;
    For transaction FAGL_FC_VAL foreign currency valuation new journal entries are generated for foreign exchange profit/ loss, it is done in batch proces but while executing batch it is asking foe cost element to be updated, i have fixed cost center in OKB9 for Business Area ( but i am having two cost centers for two business area for single cost element ie GL- Forex Gain/ loss.
    I need tp put Business area manually for each line item while running the batch.
    We are in ECC 6.0
    I want to develope Substitution, please advice
    Substitution for FI ????
    Substitution for Co????

    Dear Expert,
    Kindly need your help.
    We have configured Withholding type for payment posting.
    When posting document by using the F-53 Business Area for Withholding Tax is same with line item vendor.
    How to make Business Area for Withholding Tax same with line item payment (Cash/Bank) NOT with line item vendor ?
    Example :
    Issue :
    Vendor   (Business Area : 6100)
          Bank (Business Area : 3000)
           Withholding Tax ( Business Area : 6100)
    Our Requirement :
    Vendor   (Business Area : 6100)
          Bank (Business Area : 3000)
           Withholding Tax ( Business Area : 3000)

    Our requirement is valid for Cross company code Transaction
    Here is the detail :
    Vendor   (Company Code : 6000; Business Area : 6100)
          Bank (Company Code : 3000; Business Area : 3000)
           Withholding Tax ( Company Code : 3000 ; Business Area : 3000)
    Above solution maybe can't be applied for cross company code transaction because the program only substitute business area not company code.

    The SAP System provides two separate standard functions for carrying out the activities stated above for balance sheet and P&L accounts.
    The basic prerequisite is to ensure that the business area balance sheet function is activated for the company codes in question in the IMG. This guarantees, among other things, that all master records for which it is relevant are linked to a business area; the data is then automatically posted to this business area.
    Since this is an elaborate topic, I am providing the SAP link, which is quite self explanatory.
    Lastly, SAP is no longer recommending business area functionality. It is preferring Profit Center accounting , which is now part of New GL functionality from version ECC6

  • Business area in GL with tax category input or output

    Hello,
    I am confiuring the transfer deffered tax programme sa per SAP note. 921634.
    Deferred tax GL's needs GL account with tax category input (<) or output(>).
    When I am posting the invoice, the line item or this GL's(deffered tax GL's) does not allow to input the business area field i.e. it is greyed out.
    But when i change the tax category to * in gl master the business area field is ready for input.
    Is there any way to input the business area except substitution.

    Hi,
         In Standard you can not enter a Business Area on the Tax Accounts. The reason is that there is a single line for tax, but you can have multiple expense postions using different BA.

    As per Our Client Requirment We Have activated Document Splitting And New GL Concept Based On Business Area  (Plant and Division) Concept
    In FB03 We are Able to See Entry View and General Ledger View with respect to  Business Area. However while posting entries with Output tax system is not able To capture Business area with Output Tax.
    Entry as Follows
    Output Tax -CR (Without Business Area )
    Customer -DR (Business Area Available )
    Domestic Revenue/Foreign Revenue -CR(Business Area Available )

    It is hardcoded that Business Area is never passed to tax line.
    This is standard behaviour, documented in note 199886.
    If you want to get a different behaviour, then you could use the
    userexit EXIT_SAPLV60B_006 (member of enhancement SDVFX006).
    In form ACCOUNTING_TAX_LINE in program LV60BF00 there are these lines:
        MOVE-CORRESPONDING xvbrp TO xaccit.    (1)
      CLEAR xaccit-gsber.                      (2)
        CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '006'           (3)
           EXPORTING
              xaccit = xaccit
              vbrk  = vbrk
              xvbrp = xvbrp
              xkomv = xkomv
           IMPORTING
              xaccit = xaccit.
    In line (1) the business area is copied from item billing field
    XVBRP-GSBER into the SD-FI interface field XACCIT-GSBER (togheter
    with all the fields having same name)
    In line (2) the field XACCIT-GSBER is cleared.
    In line (3) the userexit EXIT_SAPLV60B_006 is called where in you can do the coding for obtaining the required behaviour.

    prerequisite: t.code: FB60
    Check        : business area <>blank   ( it means business area is not equal to blank)
    message    : Error  (you can create message discription by using Maintain message icon)
    It will resolve ur issue.

  • How is business area determined

    Dear all,
    I try to do some manual adjustment on business area. So I want to posting the following document via FB01.
           GL account    business are  Amount
    Dr.  GL1                BA01              1000
    Cr.  GL1                Blank              1000
    However, when I post or simulate the document, business area will be filled automatically to the credit item.
    If I leave the business area blank for both item, no default business area will be determined.
    Do you have any thought on why the business area is filled automatically?

    As per your issue while entering the  fileds you may enter cost center at first line item level so based on that system will authomatically  pickup the business area in the business area field  becasue we are entering the business area at cost center level ...at same time  you may not enter any cost center at 2nd line item level
    So that's why system will not show the business area at 2nd line item level...
    otherwise is there any validation was define in GGBO for Business area for your respective comapny code...

    i activated business area financial statement in ob65.and i make gl field status and posting key field status business area is optional.and i assigned business area to plant in OMJ7.
    while doing migo and miro business area is not taking for gl a/c.
    is there any further settings required for this .please give me the solution to resolve this issue.

  • Business Area Determination In Service Entry

    In purchase order we are using account assignment category M and we are giving our sales order so finally we are getting business area in purchase order also through sales order and our inventory g/l account is also getting update in purchase order .
    My first doubt is that we are using account assignment category M whether it is right or we should go for the account assignment category E and what is the basic difference between E and M.
    Second ok we are getting the business area at purchase order level but when we are doing good receipt or the invoice with ref to this purchase order we are not getting the business area either in the MIGO tcode or in the MIRO tcode.We able to see the business area in the MIGO at account assignment tab but when a Accounting document is generating that time we are not getting the business area in the accounting line items.
    Where is the Problem we are not able to justify.
    Similarly in the Invoice we are not getting the business area in the follow on accounting document but when we display the invoice document after saving that time we able to see the buisness area in the line item details of the invoice but accounting document we are not getting.
    Please help me out to get the business area for the GR/IR account in the MIGO as well as in the MIRO tcode.
    ANy clarification u want then please be in chat procedure for details.

    In E Sale Order is the Cost Object and sale order costing is required
    In M Sale is not a Cost Object material costing is required.
    If you activate the Business Area in OBY6 mandatory field it will ask you at the Application level.
