Business content infoobjects are still in verion 2.x & 3.x

Hi all,
We have upgraded our system to BI 7.0 from BW 3.5, when we check customer created infoobjects thy look fine,but business content info objects show us version 2.x and 3.x, Why is it so.do we need to do some migration for this.We used the latest version of business content available.

As sanity check ,ar you looking at the business content which was already activated before upgrade??
try to activate the business content from fresh now ,plain vanilla and see what it gets you.

    thanks for the response.
    i verified the objects included on the BI content objects window and noticed that the object 0CUST_CLASS_TEXT "active version" is not available and i tried finding 0CUST_CLASS_TEXT_BA and cannot find it.
    does this have an effect on the error i got from activating and receiving the error upon activation?
    The object R3TR ISTS 0CUST_CLASS_TEXT_BA does not exist
    I did follow a document for Building Block Configuration Guide:
    B03: General Settings for BI Integration
    and the step is included here:
    Activating Business Content: InfoObject Catalogs:
    1.     On the Data Warehousing Workbench: Business Content screen:
    a.     At the top of the right hand frame, choose Grouping and select In Data Flow Before.
    b.     At the top of the right hand frame, choose Collection mode and select collect automatically.
    c.     In the left hand frame, select Object Types.
    d.     In the middle frame, expand InfoObject Catalog and make a double-click on Select Objects.
    2.     In the Selection of Query Objects dialog box.
    a.     Select the following InfoObject catalog:
    0CHANOTASSIGNED
    b.     Choose Transfer Selections.
    c.     If a dialog box Remote Activation in the Source System <…> occurs, choose OK and log on to the source system on the following screen.
    d.     If a dialog box appears Exceeded runtime when collecting objects choose Continue.
    3.     At the top of the right frame, choose Install and select Install in Background.
    4.     In the Install Business Content in the Background dialog box choose Yes.
    5.     In the Information dialog box choose Continue.
    6.     Choose Exit.
    please advise on how to continue.

  • Error Installing Business Content InfoObject 0GN_VENDOR

    Hi,
         I installed 0GN_VENDOR from Business Content.  It was not active after installing. 
    When I try to activate 0GN_VENDOR I receive the following error messages:
    Attribute 0DBCTRYCOD from characteristic 0GN_VENDOR not (actively) available
    Attribute 0DBGUDUNS from characteristic 0GN_VENDOR not (actively) available
    I looked in Business Content and found that the the two attributes do not exist in Business Content.  So I am unable to install to correct the 0GN_VENDOR issue.   I also do not find any related OSS Notes on the Attributes.
    What should I do to fix this?  Just remove the offending Attributes and activate 0GN_VENDOR?

    Hi Kenneth,
    Check for the inactive info objects 0DBCTRYCOD and 0DBGUDUNS and try to install these IOs too along with the 0GN_VENDOR.
    If you are not able to find them in Business content then it might the problem with the BI content version installed in your system.

  • I have allowed remote content from one specific newsletter but images are still not displayed, is there anything further I can do?

    I receive a regular newsletter from the manufacturer of a railsim. I have allowed remote content for this email address only in the security section of the options window in Thunderbird. However, the remote content (images) are still not appearing - only those little box thingies which, if I click on them, take me to various pages on the manufacturer's website. I want this facility but it's a real drag independently clicking each box to see if it is something I wish to add to my railsim.
    So, having set Thunderbird to accept remote content from only this email address (all others are blocked), why is it not displaying the content?

    Is the 'manufacturer's website - various websites or the same website that also owns the email address.
    So email address may say 'info @ foobar .com'
    and the website is www.foobar.com and different pages of that same website?
    eg: noreply @ marshalls-seeds.co.uk Enter: marshalls-seeds.co.uk
    but not sub domain - in example the 'cs' is sub domain:
    eg: noreply @ cs.hm.com Enter: hm.com
    else you would need to enter each sub-domain as a separate site.

    Dear Gurus,
    I tried installing the business content InfoObject catalogs:
    0FIGL_CHA01 (FIGL: Characteristics)
    0FIGL_KYF01 (FIGL: Key Figures)
    But the job is cancelled and the message is 'Transfer structure 0COMPANY_TEXT_BA does not exist'.I'm able to see all
    the infoobjects in the InfoObject catalog 0FIGL_CHA01 are existing active. But few transfer rules are inactive and
    I tried activating the transfer rules and getting the same error meassge 'Transfer structure 0COMPANY_TEXT_BA does not exist'. I tried as mentioned in the note:1077655 and still not able to fix the issue
    Can you please help?  I give full points.
    Note: I did replication of the following before activating BI content on BI side:

    One reason for you Inactive Transfer structures could be because some of the Objects in BW are inactive or not installed.
    There are programs in SE38 which re-activate InfoObjects/ InfoSources/ Update Rules etc in Mass put in ACTIVATE
    Also when you did a replication on the Source System to pull the datasources check that the Datasource is there. You need a datasource in order to have an InfoSource attached to it.

  • Restrict Business Content Activation

    Does anyone know of a way to restrict business content activation while still allowing developers to maintain objects in BW 7.0?  I ran a trace while someone was activating an InfoObject and didn't see anything that I could use to achieve this level of control.  If I remove the S_RS_ADMWB Maintenance (ACTVT=23) authorization for INFOOBJECT, then that stops the activation; however, we want our developers to be able to maintain existing InfoObjects.  We just don't want most to be able to activate business content.

    Thanks for your response, Raghu. 
    We have our own SAP development team at my company and don't typically use many consultants.  It has always been our philosophy to allow our SAP developers to have comparable access across all our SAP development environments (e.g., ECC development, BW development, etc.) for cross-training purposes.  But in reality, only a handful of our developers are very knowledgeable in our BW environment; we call them our "BW Administrators".  These BW Administrators have concerns that one of the other developers who has played around in the BW environment but isn't all that knowledgeable might activate business content without realizing the implications of what they're doing.  We would like for all of our developers to have RSA1 etc. so they can learn more about BW; however, per request of our BW Administrators, we want to restrict them such that they can't activate business content.  But as you said (and per authorization tracing that I've done), there doesn't appear to be a way to restrict them from activating business content without also restricting them in other areas where we don't want them restricted.  I guess we'll have to rely on administrative controls (i.e., training).

  • Business Content Irregularities

    This is the first time I've installed Business Content and some strange things are happening. An earlier problem with InfoCubes not showing up and now I can't see an InfoObject (0ORDER_CURR) even though its been installed and shows up in my transports. I see it in table RSDIOBJ, its active but when I try to include it in an InfoCube, I don't see it in the list of available characteristics and I don't see it the Modelling --> InfoObjects tab. Who knows what else I can't see (rhetorical).
    Is there something (in general) that I'm not doing (or have not done) in relation to installing Business Content?
    Are there any good PDF's or white papers on installing Business Content?

    Hi Jim,
    0ORDER_CURR is a unit object, so, it's enough to include a KF (amount) that have 0ORDER_CURR as unit and you will see it automatically included in your cube in Key Figures -> Units !!!
    If you go to your amount KF definition, you will see in the first tab a box dedicated to currency/unit of measure in which you can manage this relationship...

    When you try to install any of the Business content, there are some important settings that you should check. This includes,
    *Grouping - What are the related objects that should be collected along with your target
    *Install - How do you want the installation to be done
    *Collection mode - Whether collection should be automatic or not
    Please check what type of grouping you have used while you tried to install the specified object.
    (NOTE 1: I believe that if you use grouping as "dataflow before"  or "only neccessary objects" you will not get this error for Infoobject installation
    NOTE 2: This error might have shown since this DSO 0RF_DS02 would have not been installed from BI content yet and would have been collected when you collected the related objects of the 0material with "dataflow after or before and after")

    The objects are not installed in business content, they are installed from business content.
    All objects with a 0prefix in your system would be installed from business content.
    If you want a list of infoobject , cubes, DSO already installed, you would need to go to their corresponding dictionary tables in SE16. Enter RS* <infoobject/cube/dso>* and press F4.
    Check all active objects in these tables. You could also check the objects in meta data repository or transport connection.
    For eg : - RSODSO, RSDIOBJ etc
    Also your previous question on LO appended structure is not very clear. Please give further details.
    You may not see the data in the extractor due to various reasons like filed is hidden in data source(unhide it).
    The user exit code required to populate the appended fiel is not in place, or is not syntactically correct or the project is not active.
    Set up table is not refilled since you have appended the extractor.

    Hi Sridhar,
    In the main menu of the SAP Business Information Warehouse select BW Administration ->Administrator Workbench.
    Select the Business Content function area using the corresponding pushbutton in the left-hand navigation window or by Jump -> Install Business Content
    With the pushbutton  Navigation Window On/Off on the application toolbar in the Administrator Workbench, you can show or hide the left-hand navigation window. We assume that the navigation window remains hidden in the following section.
    If you want to assign source systems, select  Assignment Source System. The Select Source System as Default dialog window appears.
    Select one or more source systems by setting the corresponding indicators in the Default Assignment column.
    The assignment of source systems is only relevant for transfer rules, file DataSources and InfoPackages. If there is more than one source system, only those objects assigned to the specified source system are collected for the transfer. Objects that have not been assigned to the specified source systems are ignored.
    If you do not select a source system, all source systems are automatically assigned.
    You can subsequently change the selection you made using  Source System Assignment .
    Change the required settings in the following selection list:
    Grouping
    Choose the objects that you want the system to consider. The groupings summarize all the objects of an area.
    Grouping
    Information
    Only necessary objects (standard setting)
    Only those objects that are really necessary for the action, that is, the transport of the selected objects, are taken into account (minimal selection).
    In data flow before
    All objects are collected that submit data to a collected object.
    In data flow after
    All objects are collected that obtain data from a collected object.
    In data flow before and after
    All objects are collected that both submit and collect data.
    If you change the default setting ( only necessary objects), the new setting will be used as a standard for the user.
    Collection Mode
    Select how you want to collect the objects:
    Collection Mode
    Information
    automatic collection (standard setting).
    The data is collected directly when the objects are selected.
    Start manual collection
    The data is only collected when you select  Collect dependent objects.
    Select an Object Type you want to transfer.
    You have various selection options in the navigation window in the Business Content function area of the Administrator Workbench.
    When you select an object type, the arrangement and selection of the existing objects are displayed in the tree structure of the central screen area as below:

    Objects in BW Patch
    List of installed BW patches including list of objects newly delivered or re-delivered with the respective patch.
    Package
    List of packages in which there are SAP objects.
    Select the object(s) you want to transfer in the central screen area and transfer them into the right-hand Collected Objects screen area by drag and drop.
    Using  Search for Object, you can also search for objects by a string (for example, 0CUST) or by pattern (for example, 0CUST_*B).
    You can display a value help for every object type: By double clicking on  Select Objects in the tree structure of the corresponding object type, the screen Value Help for Metadata appears. Select the required objects. Choose  Transfer selections.
    You can only use Business Content DataSources of a source system for transferring data in BW, when you have transferred these in their active forms and then copied them into the BW system.
    The system displays the selected object(s) and all dependent objects in the Collected Objects screen area. To reduce the time taken to access the objects when wanting to use them again, the collected objects are stored by default in the Repository Cache.
    When transferring the objects to the Collected Objects screen area, the objects are added at the same time to the tree structure of the corresponding object type in the central screen area and are saved for the respective user. This personal object list is available every time the program is restarted.
    To remove objects from the personal list, select the object in question and choose Remove Object from Display via the context menu or via .
    Objects that are listed in several tree structures are only displayed as changeable the first time they appear. Each time they are listed again, they are highlighted in gray and are not ready for input.
    Check the following columns in the Collected Objects screen area:
    The following Business Content objects are highlighted in the Transfer column by default:
    Objects transferred for the first time
    Objects delivered again in a new version from Business Content.
    When the SAP delivery version and the active version can be compared, a check box is shown in the column Compare (X) or Copy.
    There is a check mark in this checkbox by default. In this case, your version is compared with the new SAP delivery version and complimented.
    If you remove the indicator then the new SAP delivery version is copied in its entirety.
    Date symbol: The object is already available in an active version. However, the active version belongs to an older Content Release. We recommend that you adopt the new version
    Gray Selection : There is an active version in the system, but the object status is given as inactive. The object has to be subsequently edited.
    In the Active Version Available column, there are the following display options:
    Indicator
    Meaning
    No Indicator
    The object is not available in an active version.
    The object is available in an active version. You can decide whether to retain this version or adopt again.
    Change the required settings in the following selection list :
    Transfer Type
    Information
    Simulate transfer
    A test is made to see if errors are likely to occur during the transfer. The most important objects can be checked in the simulation. However, this does not include all dependent objects Therefore, only use the simulation as an orientation help to be able to recognize errors and remove them.
    Transfer
    The selected objects are transferred immediately.
    Transfer in background
    The selected objects are transferred in the background.
    Transfer and transport
    The selected objects are transferred immediately and then written to a transport request in the connection.
    We recommend Transfer in the Background, because transferring a large number of objects and especially changing already active objects can take up a lot of time.
    You can find out if errors have occurred during the installation of Business Content from a log, which you can request using the  Log pushbutton. Repair the errors in the respective maintenance transaction. Try to transfer the Business Content again.

    What i see here is
    The columns
    Software component, Release, Level, Highest Support Package....
    Under the "Software component" column I see listed:
    SAP_BASIS, SAP_ABA, SAP_BW, PI_BASIS, ST-PI, ST-A/PI
    I don't see BI_CONT
    Is it implied by any of the other values?

  • Business content for standard component is missing in BW

    In a new BW implementation project what I have done is
    1) activate all datasource in R/3
    2) Replicate datasource in BW
    3) Activate infoobject in business content.
    The problem is, when I go to Business content >InfoObject by Application component> All I see is node OBWTCT ( Technical Content ). Why I Don't see the standard component ex FI SD COPA etc ?  Is there a step missing ?

    Maybe you did not activate the infoareas/infocatalogs.
    Try this:
    -Tx(RSD1)
    -Find any of the infoobject that you activate and check where is present the infoobject.

    I faced the same problem....is a Basis problem son support packages not installed....consult your basis support....is not a BW problem

  • Business Content for SRM 5.0 in SP9

    Hi All,
    We have BI_CONT release 702 with Level 0005. But when I try to install the transformations or any new objects like DTP, I'm not able to find many of those in Business Contents. Are these objects not yet delivered with the standard content? Do anyone have any official information on this or any OSS Note? Any planned release dates?
    Also any information on existing contnts for SRM 5.0

    But i know from the documentation of SRM 5.0 --> master Guide --->   It has been mentioned as follows
    1) THE SRM 5.0 CONFIGURATION DOCUMENTATION IS DELIVERED WITH THE  ST-ICO  150 CONTENT SHIPMENT FOR SOLUTION MANAGER
    2) SOLUTION MANAGER CONTENT REPLACES THE BUSINESS SCENARIO CONFIGURATION GUIDES , WHICH WERE DELIVERED WITH EARLIER SRM SHIPMENTS
    3) THE USE OF SOLUTION MANAGER IS MANDATORY FOR MYSAP SRM 5.0
    4) if you have a look at the Master guide for SRM 5.0 ---> there is one seperate section  available --->
    1.2 Solution Manager ---> which gives more details of the solution manager and its content.

  • How to change BI Content InfoObject (move Lowercase letter mark) and transp

    Hello,
    1. Do you know how to change the business content infoObject by moving the mark "lowercase letter" for the characteristic (no master data) so that i can transport it in PROD.
    When i tried to change it, the message i recieve is, that i have to delete the SID table. And when i want to delete the SID table, i reciéve the message that, the table content data, and that the data in the table have first to be deleted. And also, i cannot delete data in the SID table.
    Actually, and by trying to resolve the problem, i see that the infoObject is NOW on "REVISED",....
    2. Normally, i have to change the infoObject by removing the "lowercase letter Mark", so that by the activation, it can be transferred to a transport order i created in Solution manager PROD. But the infopackage and transformation and datasource i created before did not, give a posssibility to save this in the transport order.
    3. How can i change the activated Business Content infoObject (now on REVISED) and transfer it to the transport order i created in Solution manager Prod. For example, i created a logical system in SPRO and could transfer it to the transport order, but in RSA1, by creating the objects, no dialog to transfer the Z-Bi created objects in transport ORDER is displayed.
    My most important problem here is the change for the INFOOBJECT, save the change in transport order, and transport it in productiv.
    4. One more question, is to know what happen with old request data in PROD infocube, after i transport the change infoObject in PROD?
    Do you know how to resolve the problem?

    Hi,
    Did you try Delete Master Data on the right click of your Infoobject? Since your infoobject is already loaded with data, it does not allow you to change the definition. You need to delete data completely from the infoobject and change the lower case letter.
    You can only transport the Active version but not revised version.
    Try deleting tables in SE14 t-code.
