Business process (response accumulating)

hi experts, help me please.
i want to create bp where at loop statement i want to request to some service. So i don't understand how to accumulate responses from service in one container. i need it becouse after loop i need to use this responses to request to ERP.
Thanks.

ok, check this link
[http://clip2net.com/s/134at]
1. block 1 is a loop where i want to request to some service, there are about 5-6 sync requests
2. block 2 is sync send which use all requests from block 1
3. close bridge send message back to ERP
so i don't know how to accumulate all responses. look at block 1.

  • Using ARIS process models as the foundation for Business Process Monitoring

    Hello,
Do anyone know if you can use IDS Scheer ARIS process models and the integration between IDS Scheer ARIS and SAP Solution Manager as the starting point for end-to-end Business Process Monitoring (BPM) so that you get the process description/model automatically in Solution Manager BPM and just need to configure the monitoring (more or less that you monitor against the modelled process in ARIS)?
Is there an API for SAP Solution Manager BPM so that non-SAP solutions/systems can be part of the end-to-end process monitoring?
If not, how do you usually integrate non-SAP solutions that are part of an end-to-end process that you want to monitor into SAP Solution Manager BPM, or do you not use Solution Manager BPM for this?
What is the roadmap for SAP around SAP Solution Manager BPM when it comes to non-SAP systems/applications/solutions and the new SAP NetWeaver BPM functionality?
    Regards,
    Markus Johansson

    Hello Markus,
I just paste my answer form the other forum entry Re: Business process management strategy in SAP?
in a nutshell BPM Netweaver is focussing on so called edge-processes (usually
SOA-based and often workflow related). These edge-processes a thought to enhance exisitng core business processes and should provide the fast competitive edge versus competitors. Examples would be also xApps. For this Netweaver provides process modelling tools, where you can get exectuable code through the integration between CE and PI. The monitoring part for these processes is mainly targeting business end-users and business manager.
Business Process Monitoring with Solution Manager focusses on core business processes which are realized with the "conventional", "old" SAP Architecture, e.g. Order-to-Cash or Procure-to-Pay. You get a combination of technical monitors (average response times of transactions, background job runtimes, monitors for IDOC or qRFC processing) and application related monitors (you get more than 200 pre-configured application monitors out-of-the-box like number of overdue customer orders or outbound deliveries or number of deliveries with goods issue posted but no invoice). The target group here is the support organization of the customer, from Basis-Support over application support on IT side to process owner on business department side.
Overview presentations can be found under
    https://service.sap.com/bpm --> Media Library --> Customer Information -->
    "Business Process Monitoring - Part 1 & 2".
    Or look under https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-processmonitoring
In the end BPM Netweaver and BPMon SolMan are complementary for different purposes and different target groups.

  • Difference between Business Process and Workflow

    Hi all,
What is the difference between Business Process and Workflow? i have googled it and I don't really understand that complicated definition? Is there any examples to illustrate the difference between the both?

    Hi,
I will try to put here , my perspective of this. If somebody knows better, they can update further on this.
Business process is purely on the perspective of the users. It may or maynot have anything to do with the system. When a draw a business flow diagram, we dont take care of how each and every process is handled in the system. The best illustration is an example of authorisation.
Let me say that I create a Purchase requisition. Once it is released a PO will be created by procurement managerD
This is a business process. However if we look at the system perspective, it can be like this.
    1. Create a PR.
    2. Check the value of the PR
    3. If value <$100,an email needs to be send to person A, if it is $100 to 300$, an email should be send to person B and if >$300, an email should be send to B and C.
4.Once it is released, an email shoudl be send to D for creating a PO on this PR.
Here not only the process, but also how the work is delegated across  various entities of the process is mentioned.
There are softwards like VISIO which actually take care of the business process in the perspective of the entities involved in the process. A workflow is a moredetailed version of business process with the roles of entities clearly defined and hence configured well in the system.
The concept is workflow is mostly used in the processes of authorisations, business activity monitoring(BAM), etc.
Hope I make it little clear to you.
You can reward if my response is of some help to you

  • Queries on Business Process Monitoring (BPM) & Interface Monitoring

    Dear all,
I have got a few queries on the subject and would greatly appreciate any valuable inputs.
Before I proceed, want to clarify that I have downloaded all overtly available  documents (PDFs, SIMs) from the following URLs:
    http://service.sap.com/rkt-solman
    http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager  Media Library
    http://service.sap.com/bpm Media Library
I may not have read them all though since I come from a Functional angle.
Kindly reply to whatever query you can please. Not all of them are sequential.
    Queries:
    (1) How are Interfaces with External Systems (beyond the firewall of the enterprise) monitored ?
    (2) Is it really worth listing all such External Systems as Logical Components in their own right ? I guess this makes sense if at a Process Step level, one wants to list a 'specific' Logical Component involved instead of 'generic' term like External System. However, it would benefit only if Interface Monitoring is feasible; isn't it ?
    (3) There are Interfaces which are built between SAP and External System and serve various Business Processes under various Business Scenarios. In such circumstances,  it is not easy to list which Process 'owns' the Interface. Therefore, under a normal Implementation Project structure (SOLAR02), choosing a particular Process Step, getting into 'Development' Tab and listing the Interface Program name may not be feasible, since there is no particular place where it belongs.
Is it therefore a good idea to create namesake Scenario for capturing all interfaces and list a library of all interfaces and store documents right there ? If so, will these namesake processes be of any use in BPM at a later date ?
    (4) If my primary objective is to accomplish Interface Monitoring and not Business Process Monitoring per se, is it a good idea to create a new Solution Landscape, and manually create Business Processes that are suited to list Interfaces than to assign Template or Implementation Project to the Solution Landscape, and inherit those Processes ?
    (5) What is it that a SAP Competence (Support) Centre will find as a 'major' gain in activating BPM to monitor Interfaces alone - is there something that SolMan's BPM based Interface Monitoring gives more than what PI level reporting may provide them with ?
    (6) In Interfaces with Non-SAP Systems (some of them are old/ proprietary legacy systems with Credit Card companies; some of them are like 'Active Directory' servers), is it possible to define Metrics for BPM that such systems will contribute to SolMan, for reporting purposes ? Or, is it too much to hope for
Thanks again, for your patience and advance thanks for your kind responses.

    Hi,
    Welcome to BPM
You have asked too many questions in a single Post, Please read rules of engagement before posting
You can monitor the following without any trouble.
    &#9679;      ALE/EDI
    &#9679;      qRFC
    1) Its obvious, if your firewall blocks all your request to external enterprise, it is not possible to monitor.
    3) These interfaces are not the one related to development tab in SOLAR02, you have to map them from BPM.
    4) Yes, you don't have to depend on any project for your processes, you can add it in your Solution Landscape.
    5) Post a Separate Thread!!!

Hope this gives a better idea.

  • Mapping in a Business Process

    Hi,
I have a business process. This process is calling one webservice first. To call the second one the result from the first webservice and the input for the whole business process is needed. How can I create a mapping for this or solve this problem otherwise?
When I try to create a mapping I am only able to choose one import massage, but I have to map all required variables for the output.
    Thank you!
    Julia

    Hi Julia and Jörg,
You don't need the parallel switch. Since the incoming message (that starts the business process) is received into a container, it is then available throughout the entire process, until the container is overwritten.
So you can do the call to the webservice, and after that, just do a merge map with the two source messages and one target message.
    e.g.
    incoming start message -> Container1
    webservice request -> Container2
    webservice response -> Container3
    mergemap result -> Container4
so at the mergemap step, source messages are in Container1 & Container3. The target message will be in Conatiner4.
    Hope this makes sense.
    Cheers

  • SAP NetWeaver: SAP's Model-Driven Business Process Application?

    Hi All:
I am a graduate student currently doing a research on 'Model-Driven Business Process Application'. I came across some literature about SAP NetWeaver during my research. SAP NetWeaver has generated a lot of interest in me and I would like to know more detailed information about it:
How is SAP adopting BPM principles to manage Work-flows? Can we consider any of the current NetWeaver applications as model-driven?
It would be great to know the answers to some of these questions. I would sincerely appreciate if anyone of you could please help me with this. Also, thank you very much for your time and efforts. I would be happy to assign reward points to any informative responses.

  • Best Practices for ASAP Inputs - As-Is Business Process Mapping

I am new to the SAP world and my company is in the early phases of implementation.  I am trying to prepare the "as-is" business process maps for the Project Preparation and Business Blueprint phases and I am looking for some best practices.  I've been told that we don't want them to go too deep but are there best practices and/or examples that give more information on what we should be capturing and the format.
I have searched the forums, WIKI, ASAP documentation, and other areas but have not found much at this level of detail.  I have reviewed the [SAP BPM Methodology|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SAPBPX/BPM+Methodology] but again I am looking for more detail if anyone can direct me to that.
Thank you in advance for any assistance.
    Kevin

    Hello Kevin,
You can try to prepare a word document for each of your As-Is processes first before going to As-Is Process Design in a flowchart.
The word document can have 7 sections -
The first section can include Name of the Process Owner, Designation, Process Responsibility, User Department(s) involved, Module Name and a Document number for reference.
The second section can include Process Definition details - Name of the major process, Name of the minor process, Name of the sub process and a Process ID for future reference.
The third section can be titled as Inputs - this contains details of - Input, Vendor for the input, Type of Input (Data / Activity / Process), Category of Input (Vital / Essential / Desirable) and Mode of Information (Hard / Soft Copy).
The fourth section can be Process Details. Here you can write the process in detail.
The fifth section to contain outputs of the process, customer to whom these outputs are sent, type of output (report / approval / plan / request / email / fax), Category of Output (Vital / Essential / Desirable) and Mode of Information (Hard / Soft Copy).
The sixth section can be Issues / Pain Areas in this process - Issue Description, Remarks, Expectations, Priority (High / Medium / Low)
The seventh section can be expected reports in future out of this process for internal and external reporting.
    Hope this helps your question.

    any idea?

Try to send some valid data in COMP_CODE.
It seems that SAP is returning some reply which is not fitting your response Schema.
SAP Call is made and problem is in generating response document.
Use the design console to test the view again. and try to see the XML resquest document and response document. Compare your request xml with that in design console.

  • What is a Business Process Expert? and Business Analyst?

In response to Sinem Dorter's very interesting and informative blog about Composite Analytics at Whirpool, I'd like to ask how people would really define what is going on there.
Are modelers of composite applications business analysts? Business process experts? Application specialists? All of the above? None of the above?
What unique skills are required to distinguish, say, a business analyst from a business process expert?
And can a business process expert be a team of people: maybe an enterprise analyst, a business process expert and an IT application specialist?
    I'm curious to read responses.
    Judy

    Hi Judy,
I agree with you. Sinems blog from Whirlpool is really interesting and well written.
Thanks a lot that you have the courage to open the first discussion in relation to her blog.
Now to your question what's the difference between a Business Process  Expert and a Business Analyst.
    <u>Definition of a Business Analyst</u>
Please find below a small  section of the Roles and Responsibility Matrix of SAP xApp Analytics . You will find it also in our OKP (Online Knowledge Product) of Analytics in Service Marketplace, alias rkt-analytics.
    - Responsible for assessing the business requirements
    - Communicate with the business users for project
      requirements
    - Act as the critical link between end users’ business
requirements and data architecture solution together
      with the Application Developer
    - Possess and provide deep knowledge of current business
scenarios such as: SAP BW Business Explorer Queries
      and SAP CRM, SRM, MIC
    - Design and develop a data access solution
    - Understand SAP Analytics models and become an expert
      on Analytics
    - Conduct Analytics workshops
    - Create and provide business requirements documentation
    - Provide content “know-how” and knowledge transfer
      documentation
    <u>Definition of a Business Process Expert</u>
Business process experts have the business knowledge and IT sway to make business process innovation happen in real time by adapting, composing, and executing end-to-end business processes using composition software tools and enterprise services.
SAP enables the business process expert to drive real-time business process innovation by providing a rich combination of industry business process and services content, and composition software tools from a proven business process platform.

Now I am interested to hear what others say!
Also I am sure there are much more questions/comments regarding Sinems blog.
Or do you have also experiences which you want to share with the BPX-Community?
Don't hesitate to use the forum for this!

  • BAPI Lookup in Business Process

We've setup an interface where an application is sending a message to SAP (or to another application). But the trick is that we need to check or add information from SAP using a BAPI call to this message.
The main message is an async message, but the BAPI call is syncronous.
In XI 2.0 we would use an XSL stylesheet which uses a java class to do the BAPI call. But we had to include the login information in the java class (using a properties file).
In XI 3.0 we have the BPM and we could use the merge functionality to merge the BAPI call with the main message. The BAPI call is than done using a RFC adapter, so configuration of that adapter is done in configuration and not in design, or even worse, a configuration file.
I'm trying to setup a business process for this, but I'm facing all kind of problems like the mapping doesnot allow me to map sync messages to async (and vica versa).
Since this is a very basic functionality (we are facing a lot of interfaces with BAPI lookups), I cannot imagine that anyone has done this before. Or is this a complete wrong way to look at a Business Process?
    Regards,
    Christiaan.

To create a synch bridge, you will need to create 3 abstract interfaces:  1 abstract synch interface, and 2 abstract asynch interfaces.
In BPM, you will need to include a "Sender", with the following properties:
    - mode = "synch"
    - synch interface = the abstract synch interface created above
    - request message and response message consist of the 2 abstract asynch interfaces created above.
    - in your subsequent BPM processes, you can use the content of the response message.
Then, in the Integration Directory, you need to configure the Receiver Agreement of the "Sender" you created in BPM.  This will include the Receiver Communication Channel using the RFC adapter.

    Bill

  • Business Process Management Tool Evaluation ARIS or Systems Architect?

    Hi Group
I have joined this community yesterday, so I am pretty much new here.
I work as a Business Process Analyst for a semi govt company. I have been tasked for evaluating a tool for business process management.
    Current scenario is as under:
    1) We are using Microsoft visio as a mapping software
    2) BPMN standards for process modelling
    3) The design phase of our new ERP software will be starting soon.
    4) My company has got vision to become BPM company over the years, we are at very early stage of it.
    The questions I have are,
    1)  Is it worth getting ARIS or System Architect at this stage only for modelling. If now what are the justifications?
    2) Based on your experience what are the steps involved in evaluating such tools
    3) How hard is it to import those visio drawings into ARIS or System Architect
    Your response is much appreciated
    Thanks
    Hemal

    Hi,
My view (I work as an Enterprise Architect for a very large Resources Company).
Visio is a drawing tool. It produces nice diagrams and drawings which have no real connection with the process objects, or system objects they represent. typically an organisation ends up with 1,000's of these e diagrams which end up all having to be maintained (and usually are not) so quickly end up being largely out of date and useless.
Tools like ARIS and other BPM tools, are purpose built Modelling tools. The Process Models built, and each and every object they are composed of are stored in a single, searchable and reportable object oriented database. Each object (if the tool is implemented correctly) has exactly 1 original keyed by a Globally unique Identifier. Other occurrences or copies of that object can be created that are used in multiple places, in multiple processes. Hence maintenance should be easier. If a change is required to the object, change it in one place only, and its automatically also updated in all the other object copies or occurrences. try that with Visio.
Further, if the models are created using the required and correct notation (for example BPMN or BPEL, then they may be exported into or integrated into application or execution layers that support these notations. Usually this is a part automatic, and part manual process. Hence the BPM models are living representations (not 100% but at least some %) of the running code or processes in your systems.
Eventually the nirvana will be when this model to execution paradigm is 100% automated, for 100% of business processes, across any platform or system architecture required. A good dream eh!
The proviso is that all this is designed, built and governed correctly. Like most things, the idea can be good, but the execution bad.
There are several examples of BPM Modelling tools that are available as free downloads. Savvion, Tibco and Intallio are 3 that come to mind that do this. Perhaps try one or more?
ARIS has the advantage that it is more integrated with SAP than any of the others.
The other think that has influenced us toward ARIS is that SAP now use it internally (so I am told) to define and govern the services that end up in their products. the Process is called PIC (Process Integration Content).
There is a separate thread on it Do SAP Plan to Productise the PIC Internal Process for Customers & ISV's?.
    Hope this helps.

  • Business Process Monitoring via MAI

    Hi Experts,
Currently I am exploring the new Business Process Monitoring via MAI (Monitoring and Alerting Infrastructure).
I have setup monitoring objects and I am getting the required alerts.
Need your help for following questions:
    1. What is the configuration required to send data to BW? For Classic Business Proces monitoring we select 'Keep Data in BW' under Alert Reorganizations. Is there any such configuration in case of BPMon via MAI ?
    2. In which cube is the alert data saved in case of BPMon via MAI ? (For Classic BPMon it is 0SM_BPM)
    3. Is there any configuration guide available for BPMon via MAI ? I have already referred to the presentations on the same.
Please help me to get the answers.
    Best Regards,
    Kavita

    Hi Keiji,
As always, your answers have helped us. Thank you for the quick response. Can you help me with the name of the table where BPMon MAI alerts are stored (just like we have DSWP_BPM_ALERTS for classic BPMon alerts. I have searched this table but could not find the BPMon MAI specific alerts.
FYI, BPMon MAI is configured and is working fine and I am able to see the MAI alerts for the configured Monitoring Objects.
Thanks again for the information provided.
    Best Regards,

  • Business Process Integration

    Hi!
I'm interested to know if there are any products available today that can help a
Java developer integrate loosely coupled components into a business process. I thought
of doing this using existing Java APIs but I don't want to build all the infrastructure
myself, like translating from Java to XML and back, dealing with persistence of the
    process context, correlating messages, etc.
I looked at BEA Workshop but realized it is mainly good for creating asynchronous
web services with a callback pattern but they don't address long-lived multi-step
    business processes.
I've also posted my question on TheServerSide.com and was referred to Collaxa's Web
Service Orchestration Server which I'm going to evaluate shortly (http://www.theserverside.com/discussion/thread.jsp
    thread_id=13413)
    Thanx! Jill.

Workshop gets you part of the way there, but truly long running complex
business processes are really in the domain of our WebLogic Integration
    product.

    Hi Jill,
WebLogic Workshop provides you all the flexibility for addressing "long
lived multistep business processes" by using conversational webservices.
Multiple business processses (which could be multiple
applications/webservices's methods) invoked by a client, could be madepart
of a single conversation. All these conversations are linked by a
"conversation id", which could be generated by the client before callingthe
    first method.
The Workshop webservice invoking the multiple methods would pass the
conversation id, with every request which is part of the particular
conversation. If the method is targeting an externalapplication/webservice,
that application/webservice should be able to recognise this conversation
id, and identify the "returning" client. Basically, the application should
have a way of identifying the returning client.
Please let me know if I have misunderstood the point you are trying tomake,
    and your further inputs.
    Look forward to your response,
    Regards,
    Anurag

  • Timed out waiting for Business process

    Hi,
I created a web application using evision in JCAPS 512. It works properly. But some times i am getting an error message as
"Timed out waiting for business process" when i try to access the web page usign url.
But if i invoke page again then application works properly.
I have increased server response timeout value also. But couldn't get
the reason when it will occur.
Please let me know what is the reason for this problem. If this error occurs please let me know is it possible to show some other page instead of displaying error to user.
    Regards
    Venkatesh.S

    Good day.
I have a similar problem and I have managed to pinpoint when it fails but unfortunately I don't know how to fix it yet.
In my scenario, I have 2 separate processes:
the first process reads data from a Seebeyond SRE instance and stores it on a local Java CAPS queue.
The second process is an EVision process that reads the data from this queue and displays it on a page.
Whenever I am not connected to the network linking my Java CAPS instance to the Seebeyond SRE instance (first process cannot connect ) I get this problem on the EVision side every second time I request a page. This means I can view the first message on the queue and then I have to restart the Logical Host
This doesn't make sense to me, since The EVision process is a completely separate process, deployed in it's own WAR file.
