Buying in-app games when unable to connect iPod touch to internet?

I have mobile broadband and I would like to download an in-app game for my commodore 64 simulator, can I do this without downloading it directly through the app, ie. if I connect to the iTunes store and have my mac connected to the internet?

Maybe, why not try it? You should also be able to set up your Mac to act as a wifi hotspot using the mobile broadband for the internet source and using the Mac's wifi as the router. So to System Preferences>Sharing>Internet Sharing. The instruction provide d on the Mac are pretty good.

uncheck the music in itunes and resync to delete her music from your ipod
then create another account using everything the same except change your email address from a ".com" to ".net"
like me, I have an ipod touch and my mom has a shuffle, she doesn't like using credit cards online
so we use mine for both accounts but with [email protected] as mine and [email protected] as hers
that way we can both use the credit card and on the same pc but with different passwords too

WAG354G unable to connect Ipod touch

My son got an Ipod touch last week and i have been unable to add the MAC address to my WAG354G Linksy router safe list and keep getting an error message. I too have an ipod touch which i successfully added in October, though i have noticed that all other items added to my safe list the MAC address starts with 00: my son's ipod MAC address starts with D4: has anyone else had this problem or can suggest a solution? He has been able to connect to other routers so the MAC address is correct, just not my Linksy.

Err thanks for the reply, but someone set up my router for me and wouldn't know how to turn off the MAC filtering. If i did turn off the MAC filtering would this delete all the MAC addresses of my PS3, Wii, Phones & laptops etc that is hooked up to it? Or would the addresses stay there until i turned it on again as i have about 10 devices linked to my Linksy?
My router is set up with the WEP 28 bit encryption.
Or is the answer to buy a more up to date router that will accept the newer MAC addresses?

I don't have wifi, but I have internet and I can't get an app to update without wifi. I really can't connect through my iTunes on my computer? This seems kind of strange.
Don't know which "generation" it is it was a gift. It may be the one right before the last update.

I think there two separate things being discussed here. One is syncing the iPod touch to the Mac. That's working fine. The other is using the iPod over WiFi, which has nothing to do with syncing. stephmayo is asking about using the iPod to connect to the Internet through the Mac, not syncing the iPod, I believe...
You have a MacBook with wireless networking (AirPort). If the MacBook is using a wired Ethernet connection for Internet access, you should be able to +share it+ over AirPort (WiFi) to your iPod touch.
Go to System Preferences Sharing pane. Select +Internet Sharing+ in the sidebar - do not check the box yet, just select it. Over to the right, set it so that you
+Share your connection from *Built-in Ethernet*+
+To computers using AirPort+
Click on the +AirPort Options+ button. You can name the network and enable encryption (security) using WEP. You can try it without encryption first to make sure it works.
Now, check the box next to +Internet Sharing+ in the sidebar, to turn ON this sharing service. Use your iPod to connect to this new wireless network you have established. If you need to make any changes to the AirPort settings (such as encryption) you have to turn OFF (uncheck) the service first.
The docking cable connection is only or charging and syncing. You cannot connect to the Internet from the iPod using the cable connection.

Connecting ipod touch to internet via internet sharing

My MacPro was connected to the internet. My ipod touch showed that it was connected to the MacPro via internet sharing, but I could not get the ipod to complete the connection to the internet. I selected "Allow all incoming connections" in the MacPro system preferences>security>firewall and the ipod could see the internet. Success.

If we wanted to open only individual ports (or a range of ports) rather than disabling the whole firewall, which ports would we leave open?

Using the Airport Express to connect iPod Touch to internet

I'm getting an iPod Touch for Christmas but I don't have a wireless router.
How exactly do I connect through the Airport Express?
Do I just plug it into a wall socket and plug my Ethernet cable into it?

You own an Airport Express and use it for Wlan?
If this is the case just connect to your wlan via the new Ipod touch.
What you can't do:
Use your Airport Express without any connection to a dsl-line or another router that is connected to the net. It would be helpful if you could describe your complete setup.

System crash when trying to connect IPod touch (blue screen)

Hello all!
All of a sudden, my computer running on Windows XP doesn't recognize my iPod touch anymore. Changing the USB-Port and re-installing iTunes did not help. The actualization of the driver resulted in the system to recognize the iPod for a couple of seconds, but then the system crashed and a blue screen appeared, which made it necessary to restart the system. I had the same thing four times today now and have absoultely no idea what else I could do. Can anyone help?

I too just had my itouch completely crash. I was attempting to sync and a pop up asked about updating my itouch. I agreed. Only to get the frozen apple screen with the download bar. Now I can't even reset my itouch or get my computer to recognize my itouch. PLEASE HELP!!

I have tried signing out and in, still does not work.
Still just get the previously mentioned "messages".
I wanted to restore, but then you have to turn off "find my ipad/iphone" but this is not allowed, as I cannot connect to the itunes/icloud or app store. The units work with current apps. EG; email etc, and with apps that do not require current updates.

Connect the device to the computer.
Open iTunes.
Select the content desired to sync.
Sync.

When i unlock my ipod touch 4th generation and i click on an applicatio to play a game it flashes and the screnn reappears as it was and doesn't connect. any suggestions that would help solve my problem?
