C7 Sending Email Problem... Receives just fine...

This started out of the blue around 2 days ago...
My lil sis promises she has not touched any settings either... Its a C7 and (was on T-Mobile) now unlocked on O2.
I had O2 send new settings to the phone around 3 weeks ago so she can go online etc... All worked well and had no problems...
Intill now...
Anybody have any suggestions?

They never made it to the server - just vanished.  I sent the earlier test email today to check that I wasn't clicking the cancel button, but saw to my relief that I was hitting the nicer blue send button.
I've had the iPhone for 4 years now - 2 years with the original; and 2 years with the 3GS.  When mail hasn't worked, the gear spins on both send and receive so it's clear powering off, or resetting, or resetting network settings is in order.  This glitch was only on the outgoing.  I checked settings to be sure I'd set it up right - but once you give your ID and set up MM, it sets up send itself.
As for the multi-million dollar deals, nope.  Not this week.  Maybe my iPhone would rather be involved with them.

I can receive emails, but I cannot send emails. This just started happening. I have an iPhone and I can send emails from my phone fine. It's just not working on my Macbook. Every time I try to send an email it goes straight to my outbox. Can anyone help?

Thank you for heading me in the right direction.  I reset my Mail account for Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net:(customer ID)@att.net (instead of smtp.att.yahoo.com, per Apple's online troubleshooting information).   I'm not sure what "(Offline)" means when it appears at the end of my Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)??  In the Advanced box I clicked on "Use custom port:  465" and checked "Use Secure Sockets Layer."  Authentication:  Password; I have correct User Name and Password put in.  After doing all this, when I try to send emails again today, they go directly to the Outbox and sit there.
What's curious is that my first sent email this morning did go out using the Outgoing Mail Server, smtp.att.yahoo.com: (customer ID)@att.net(Offline) but subsequent emails I tried to send with this server were rejected with the message:  "Cannot send message using the server smtp.att.yahoo.com (etc.).  The SMTP server doesn't support TLS(SSL) on port 587.  Verify your account settings and try again."  That's when I tried resetting my Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net (etc.), as mentioned above, and was unsuccessful in sending out any further emails.  I guess my next step is to contact my email service provider, AT&T, and see if they can help me.  Thanks, again, for taking the time to respond and for giving me your input!  Much appreciated!

  • Just want to find out how to send email? Can receive just fine, but cant send?!?!

Hi Just wanted to find out how to send email? can receive just fine but cant send. Using hotmail at the moment.
      Any help would be great
    Thanks

go to your mail providers setup guide and compare every single setting to how your smtp setup in your settings are set
and if they are not the same change yours to match their page
and if they are the same contact your isp to inquire as to why they are blocking the ports your mail provider are using

I have contacted three more people that made the upgrade and they have the same problem. My advise is not to upgrade until Apple solves the serious issue, I would hate to have to re-install Outlook...

I can send e-mails just fine with apple mail on yosemite...
Might not be a generic problem but rather a personal problem..
You should try find a fix rather than waiting on apple.
Hopefully somebody can help you out.
More than happy to help with your settings/preference pain... And compare mine with yours...
If you send some screenshots... I can send you my equivalent... So maybe you can figure it out.
Is it a gmail or icloud email acount? Can be of more help if it is.

  • Since upgrading to Maverick I cannot send/share photos through iPhoto. Dropbox says "not connected to server". All other online email activities work just fine.

Since upgrading to Maverick I cannot send photos while in iPhoto.  Dropbox says I am not connected to server.
All other internet email activities work just fine.

And again why do you think Dropbox is involved in any way?  There is no connection of any sort between iPhoto and Dropbox
THis sounds like you either need to (my personal suggestion) change your email client to Mail in the iPhoto preferenceemail if you want to use the iPhoto client under the accounts tab delete your account and re-enter it

BTW. I have seen posts suggesting age of Mac has an affect. Mine is MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012)
The mail I am having problems send is Exchange and google mail. The google client I re-installed and this had no affect.

  • Can't Send Email - Receiving Just Fine

I bought a new Mac G5 and am setting it up. I have a G4 with my mail accounts working just fine - sending and receiving. On my new G5 I can receive emails, but cannot send any. I've used Connection Doctor (in Mail) and the accounts pass all tests for incoming and outgoing servers. I have two accounts set up and get the same reults on both. When attempting to email I get the following:
"Cannot send message using the server outgoing.verizon.net:xxxxxxxxx.
The server response was: 5.7.1 Missing or literal domains not allowed
Use the pop-up menu below to try a different outgoing mail server. All messages will use this server until you quit Mail or change your network settings."
I have checked and rechecked for typos, but find none. All information is exactly the same as on my G4 which sends just fine.

Go to Settings => Mail,Contacts,Calenders => select the account and may have to click account again => should be viewing username and password, Scroll down and Select - Outgoing Server => Tap on Primary Server => try entering Username and Password in there even though it says optional...
Also try port 25 if that doesn't work and try toggling SSL on/off if that doesn't work.

  • I am new at this.  Cannot send out pdf's from my computer. They receive message that says "cannot open this file" or corrupted file.  I can receive just fine.  Any suggestions?

Everytime I try to send out a pdf file, on the receiving end it shows they cannot open it or it shows corrupted.  I send to large companies so I know it is not on their end. I can receive them fine.  Don't know if this could be an adobe issue or a Norton's issue.  Any ideas I can check out?

I just downloaded Adobe XI onto my macbook air and now I cannot save or print any PDF files. Will not let me do Print-Save as PDF, and if i do Save as i get a message saying that the file is corrupted. I had NO PROBLEMS at all doing this many times until i downloaded the new version. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, to no avail. I am super frustrated.
Print>Save as PDF - uses Preview (part of OS X), so Adobe Reader should have no effect on that at all.
As to the "damaged file" error, simply uninstalling the Reader app won't affect it. Do the following:
    Mac HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins
Trash the AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin files
    Mac HD/Applications
    Trash the Adobe Reader app
    [user]/Library/Preferences
    Trash the com.adobe.Reader.plist file
To access the [user]/Library, hold the "Option" key and click "Go" from the FInder menu.
    Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Trash the Reader folder (the whole folder)
    Empty the Trash.
Download the FULL installer here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
Quit your browser and reinstall Reader.
Launch it from the Applications folder and accept the license agreement.
You should have no problems downloading PDFs with Safari.
Unfortunately, ANY PDF that says it's damaged.... is. You'll have to trash them.

  • Sending email problem

I got a replacement 3GS on 06/08. Everything seemed to be working well. A few days ago, I answered an email, hit send, and assumed the email was sent, but it never appeared anywhere - not in my sent folder - not in my outbox.  I decided it was an aberration.  Today, I wrote an email, hit send - and it too vanished. So, I did a test email which vanished.
I just reset the iphone (brute force shut down) and another test email just went through fine. But the missing emails that vanished are nowhere.  I would have had no way of knowing the phone had to be reset to get "send" working since emails were coming in fine from all my accounts.  Several questions:
    1.  Once I hit send, the email I was writing goes away (perfectly normal) and when things are working fine, there is a "sending" process visible at the bottom of the screen.  However, if that doesn't appear - there's no way of getting the email back.  It's very inconvenient.
    2.  So what can I do to prevent the problem happening?  Send test emails every day and if they vanish, reset the phone before I write a real one?  Should I delete and then add back the account?  What can be the problem?

They never made it to the server - just vanished.  I sent the earlier test email today to check that I wasn't clicking the cancel button, but saw to my relief that I was hitting the nicer blue send button.

  • Anyone has a remedy for mail/leopard sending emails problem ?

I just spend hours on my MBP trying to set up MAIL and on various forums trying to find a cure for what seems to be a common problem on Leopard, not being able to send emails. I like many others are getting the "can not send message using the smtp server verify that you have addressed this message correctly. Check your SMTP server settings in Mail Preferences and verify any advanced settings with your system administrator"
Ok I verified till I was blue, all settings are ok, info provided by ISP and checked, I tried various other combinations and I keep getting the same message. I can receive emails no probs and I can also send emails to myself . I looked on Apple site and it just tells me to check everything, yes it's a known problem but no cure in sight. They simply can't be serious and expect people to be without such an important function? So this means that I cannot send emails until someone gets off their a**e at Apple and fixes this problem ? Can any of you kind folks help, what else should I try ? I have been on Apple now for half a year but encountered same problems and grief as I had with windows for years.

    found problem
    im using aol still
aol just implimented a image verification (stupid) i downloaded the new aol desktop for mac and tried sending a test email.. it asked me to verfiy myself and now it works... dumb
so if you have same problem, download aol desktop for mac and send a test email, it will tell you do a image verfication.. do it and then it will say you can now send email...
how stupid... like the login/password wasn't enough...
and now i just can't even imagine why they are loosing money and almost gone (aol)

I have a Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition SP2 we are using as our exchange server. One user that has been working fine for years all of sudden can send emails but not receive any emails.  I have checked outlook settings, use the HTML direct connection
to the user in the same network I can access his email and send emails from either source but not receiving emails from anywhere. Can someone please advise thanks
We have many users working just fine including myself. Just one of the users which had been working fine for years all of sudden stopped receiving emails.

    Hi Luis,
" use the HTML direct connection to the user in the same network I can access his email and send emails from either source but not receiving emails from anywhere. "
    1) Do you mean that you logged on the mailbox via OWA but still can not see the received emails ?
    2) Just only this user , the others are working well ?
    3) Did try to send an email from the same server to this issue account ,still can not receive it ?
    4) Please try to send an email from an "external" mailbox , if the email can not achieve the target mailbox , the "external " mailbox should receive an NDR email  come with  some useful infomation .
Also please open event log to check if there is any useful infomation .

  • Re: red X when sending email, cannot receive email

    Dear Frankie S:
I too have a Toch 9800 and cannot receive emails on my device (no problem getting them on my laptop).  (in addition to not being able to send some text messages).  However, I can't even get into the Setup - Email Account application to try to resend a service book (whatever that is).  I get the following message: "Your device had a problem connecting to the server."   I'm thinking this is due to the fact that the "Service Status" screen shows that I'm not even connected to the Blackberry Internet Service, but I don't recall that I manually disconnected it.  (I don't use the BB Enterprise Service.)   How can I reconnect to the BB Internet Service?  is this a phone issue or a service provider issue?
Coincidentally, for some reason, my device stopped automatically connecting to my home wi-fi network when the device reactivates in the morning.   I have to connect by choosing it from the list of Saved Wi-fi Networks.  Any idea why this is happening?
My mobile network connection to AT&T is fine.
    Please help!
    Lysanda

you have to verify that the affected user have send as permission present for besadmin account in AD.
    Steps:
    1. go to active directory users and computers, go to view menu and make sure advanced features options is checked on.
Righ click on the affected account in AD and go to properties.
    2. make sure that this account is not a member of admistrators group by clicking on member of tab, if they are follow this work around first
Right-click on system container in AD, and then click, properties , Click Advanced,  Click to select the Allow inheritable permissions to propagate to this object and all child objects check box ,  Click OK, and then click Close
    3. after you are done with above step, right click on the affected user in AD and go to options and then go to security tab and click on advanced and in the new window make sure besadmin is listed with send as permission, if not add besadmin with a send as permission.
also make sure to put  a check in the box on  -allow inheritable permissions to propagate permissions from parent to child........
wait for exch to replicate permisisons for 20 minutes and then try sending email from device

  • Another 'sending' email problem.

I am sync up with my outlook on my PC. At home when im on my own network i can send and receive email with no problems. Once i leave my home network and when I'm on another network (such as verizon dsl, or Edge) it wont send the emails. Even when im home and i shut off the wireless and just on edge it still wont send. I never have a problem receiving emails just sending.
I have done some searches and found some info but things I've tried haven't worked.
Right now my incoming mail is set up as "mail.comcast.net"
and the outgoing is set up as "smtp.comcast.net:25"
SSL is set to off right now ( i have no idea what that is but i saw it in another post)
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Update:
I've reading around the different posts and saw somewhere that it might help if i put my username and password in the outgoing mail section (where is says optional). I did that! I then shut off my wifi and tried to send mail using the edge network and it was sent successfully. I will try this when im away from home again. Hopefully this will work.
