Cache after crash

Firefox crashed (causes don't matter) . Ok, next time I open firefox all the cache is deleted even if all the cache was still there in the cache folder.
Every time this happens it's a headache because you have to load the pages again. When it happened again I tried to copy the files from the cache folder elsewhere. Then after firefox had deleted the cache close the browser and replace the new cache files with these old ones. checked firefox and it didn't work, firefox deleted everything again or ignored it and used the last session cache.Tried again, this time with the cache folder and later, the profile folder, same result.
Is there a way to back up the cache after a browser crash? or to prevent it's deletion?

When you say cache, do you mean the browsing history?
It is possible to show all history and to save them in a text file, but this may be tedious. A little trick is to export the profile folder.
So, copy your profile folder found on this location:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
Make a copy of it and check out these on how to manage profiles: [http://mzl.la/LL5Dxl]
That will have all the information on how to recover or save the history as well from the profile.
Also after a crash if you change the Preferences of Firefox to open windows from last time, on a crash this will save the tabs that were open before the crash. Hope this helps.

I have created sender agreements for SOAP channels, this would explain why I could not see the agreements...
Actually I am wondering why the 'test configuration' tool in the ID brings up an 'java.io.IOException' in the receiver determination. Prior to that the sender agreement lookup fails. So I thought it's the XI Cache...
I restarted the J2EE engine but the problem remains.
Any other ideas?

In Mac Firefox 10.0.2, is there a way to import/merge Mac Firefox 3.6.13 and 3.6.15 history (not just bookmarks), and history recovered after crashes, and if so, how? Thank you!

You can find the Import menu entry in the Bookmarks Manager (Library)
*Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import Data from Another Browser

Import & Backup is the third button on the toolbar in the Library that looks like a star.
You should be able to export the bookmarks via that button.

hey! what is Prefetch descriptor and DII descriptor in the application descriptor in the AIT? Do they provide hints to the receiver about which DSM-CC modules should be cached in the initial time,or provide hints to the receiver the all the resources of the Xlet.
Xlets will list in the AIT,but when we use some resources(like picture or audio)that not list on the AIT in a xlet,would they be stored automatically in the cache after xlet start, or just load when the xlet need them?

    I create a mime object (such as "test1.jpg") in mime repository.
   In web dynpro, I add two UI elements: a formatted text edit and a File-Upload "Insert Image",
   after I click the File-Upload "Insert Image",
   I select an image file (such as test2.jpg) from local directory, and upload the content of the image file to mime object(test1.jpg) in mime repository.
   at the same time, I insert a line into formatted-text-edit as "<img src="/SAP/Public/.../test1.jpg" />".
   I double click the mime object (test1.jpg), its content has changed as test2.jpg,
   however, formatted-text-edit still displays the content of test1.jpg.
   When I mannually clear the cache of IE, and refresh the web, Formatted-text-edit display the content of test2.jpg.
It's obvious that the cache of http server isn't cleared.
How to clear cache after mime object is updated?

Delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.

Recover Non Saved Pages Files after Crash?

Just went through the horrendous experience of loosing many hours of work in Pages when my machine unexpectedly crashed. No I did not save. I am stupid, but how hard is it to design a program to auto save and recover after crash? Microsoft seems to have figured that out.
I have downloaded a 3rd party program to do it, but it is the end of using Pages for me. I really enjoyed the layout capabilities, but the omission of a file recovery feature moves this down to a 3rd tier application that looks good but does not meet the fundamental needs of users.
I am sure the work is lost forever but if there is a solution I am missing let me know.

The point is that software can do so much for us today, spell check, grammar check, automatic date, create PDF's etc... but it cannot accommodate recover after crash?
From my perspective my only mistake was using Pages in the first place. For that I can blame myself.

After crashing, Indesign CC recovers the open documents in "untitled documents" instead of using the original documentnames.

That's what's supposed to happen. It's up to you if you want to overwrite the last actual saved version with one that might potentially have a problem. I always opt to do a save as to a new version name.

I am trying to download Apex report in CSV format, but, as I have Clear cache After Region data gets cleared and nothing the saved in CSV file. If I remove Clear Cache option I am able to download report in CSV format, but, as cache entries are not cleard it is fetching all records related to previous entry which is not intended. This is all happening in single session. If I logout and login again, then cache is cleard. But in single session when I move from one report to another cache entries are not cleared.

DC on VM Restored after crash - Does Not allow PCs to Join Domain, or Domain Users to Log in

We currently had a RAID array crash and rebuilt our main server which housed VMs for our Web and DC.
The main server was restored from a bare-metal backup from 6 months prior to the latest backup of the VMs (not sure if pertinent)
Since the Restore, Domain computers cannot access file shares on the main server or VMs - "unspecified network error

Removed the main server from the Domain to re-join it due to some issues with logging in (even with a Domain Admin account) - Found that any PC removed from the domain was no longer able
to rejoin - Receive (Network path was not found error)
Domain Users cannot log in to their computers - Error reads "The trust relationship between this computer and the domain has been lost" - Domain Admin accounts can log in without
problem.
Have been working on it for two weeks and tried most of the things that I have found in others questions for related
DCDIAG results (run on DC VM) - More errors appear if run on the Server (Locator DcGetDcName(GC_Server_Required) call failed, error 1722 (same for PDC, TIME, GOOD_TIME, and KDC)

All PCs can ping the DC, and get name resolution. Checked IPs, DNS on both WS and DC (DC points to its own IP address with no other DNS), Forwarders for DNS appear to be working,
as normal DNS name resolution and internet access works on all PCs. Have tried disabling NIC card and installing another NIC. All searches keep pointing back at the same things that I have tried. I feel like I am missing something stupid.

The backup you used is too old. That is why your clients are experiencing trust relationship failures: the computer passwords are no longer matching so they are failing to connect to AD. You need to disjoin and join them again.
I understand that this is the only DC you have so please make sure that the DC is not multihomed, that it points to its private IP address as primary DNS server and 127.0.0.1 as secondary one. Also, you might need to rebuild your SYSVOL folder if you keep

IMovie 11 gray clips - won't import to new project after crash

Hi all,
I was importing a load of video, recorded on a Zoom Q3HD (in .MOV format) to iMovie 11. At some point, iMovie crashed and forced me to restart the app. Since then, the clips I'm trying to import are showing up as gray in the clip window. Sometime, scanning over the clips will show thumbnails from a different clip however right now, it is showing me thumbnails of the movies I'm scanning over. I have trashed iMovie thumbnails and cache, done a permissions repair, restarted, checked for updates, even resaved the problem clips in QuickTime, thinking that the format of the clips could be an issue but it made no difference. Not sure what else I can do?? I am unable to drag these gray clips into a new project. Here is a screencast of my issue. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thx. Matthew

What you are seeing may not be a symptom of the clips going bad but instead a symptom of something failing in the Project itself. Especially after a crash with iMovie open, everything is to be suspect. Be very paranoid about all the elements in that project, any one of them could be the source of the problem you are witnessing.

Click on the button near the top of the window where it says Project Library (it toggles between Library and edit Project).
Click just once on the name of the project, so that it highlights in blue.
Go to File Menu > Duplicate Project. There will now be a second project with the same name, but with a number added to the end of the name
Open that duplicated project by double-clicking it
from Jasonryan1. It relates to a corrupted item existing in his project. And in his attempt to troubleshoot it, he suspected it was a Title he placed in the Project itself. Once he deleted the corrupted Title he was able to successfully export it. As to which item is causing instability, that's a tricky process to narrow down. And I would agree it seems unlikely all your projects could have some corrupted element in them. But it might work to concentrate on the simplest project which is showing the symptoms you describe. Duplicate that project and start deleting pieces of it and trying to add a Title to it and see if iMovie crashes. And that's not to say it's a title, it could just as easily be a picture, a transtion or a music clip that's preventing that project from previewing and importing clips properly.
Also consider the iMovie Preferences file.
Delete the iMovie Preferences file:
Go to the Desktop
Click on Go Menu then Choose Library
Go to Preferences > com.apple.iMovieApp.plist
Drag that file to the trash, restart iMovie and see how it reacts
