Calculate depreciation start date based on user defined field in asset

Hi,
I have a specific scenario where the start of depreciation date for asset needs to be calculated on user-specific logic. There is a additional field "installation date" in asset master screens. The requirement is that for depreciation areas 10 and 11 user wants that the depreciation start date to be calculated on the installation date rather than capitalization date.
I tried using the exit AMAV0001 where we can change the asset value date which determines the depreciation date at the time of first acquistion to asset. But the problem is we can't change it as per depreciation area wise and thats why posting error was coming.
Please suggest if any idea on this.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Adriano,
in your example 2 issues influence the described behaviour:
1) In your example the revaluation occurs in the capitalization year, in which all acquisitions (and revaluations) are managed under the period for the first acquisition. Only as of the year following the capitalization year the period control "pro rata" would really consider the revaluation or another acquistion as of period 4. In case you want the period control also being considered according to the posting period in the capitalization year, set the indicator XBZDAT with the correction report from note  92925.
That should solve your issue.
2) In case you use the new depreciation calculation engine you have the possibility to use individual period controls for revaluation also. This means you could specify period control for acquisitions as "pro rata" and for revaluations "next month". To realize this create a new transaction type for revalutions as described in note 1138166 . Unfortunately this feature is not possible with the old depreciation calculation engine.

I have created one form using screen painter displaying text boxes and bind them to the table.
This form is working absolutely fine when there are some data in table (i.e. Browse using navigation)
My problem is, when I click add button from tool bar the "OK" button turn to "Add" that means the form is set to Add mode, but when I click "Add" button after entering some data nothing happens and input data is not stored in Table. The same "OK" Button turned to "Update" when I do changes in loaded data, but my changes are not reflected to table after I click "Update".

    Thanks Nagarajan,
    None.
There is no such query. The table fields is directly linked to Edit Box or Combo Box in form.
From the examples I learned that I have to do something like this to get my table updated
    Dim oUsrTbl As SAPbobsCOM.UserTable
    Dim Res As Integer
    oUsrTbl = oCompany.UserTables.Item("DRIVERMST")
oUsrTbl.Code = oBPC.Value 'Item Specific of Driver Code Edit Box
oUsrTbl.Name = Left(oBPN.Value, 30) 'Item Specific of Name Edit Box
    oUsrTbl.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_FullName").Value = oMFN.Value
    oUsrTbl.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_FatherName").Value = oFTHN.Value
    oUsrTbl.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_BirthDate").Value = oDOB.Value
    oUsrTbl.UserFields.Fields.Item("U_PhoneNo").Value = oPHN.Value
    (Similar For rest ofthe fields)
    Res = oUsrTbl.Add()
Just let me know that is this necessary to do like above.. To be frank there are few more fields and matrices on the form which I didn't mentioned. I am just trying to get recovered from first step to proceed further.

  • Addition of user defined fields in Results Recording screen (QE01)

    HI All,
We've a business requirement to add user defined fields in results recording screen (Character Overview screen - QE01), so that the user will enter data in user defined fields during results recording. and the data entered in user defined fields should be saved in data base table along with actual results given by the user in order to retrieve data for reporting purpose.
Please suggest valuable solutions to acheive the requirement.
    Thanks & regards,
    rajesh

    Hi Sujit,
    Thanks for your reply,
We've tried using the " QEEM0029 User-Exit for Characteristic Overview Subscreen , however with "QEEM0029"  exit, we are only able to add fields to the characteristics overview screen and there is no provision in this exit to save the data entered in the user fields to a table (QALS,QAMR, QASE).
    Please suggest!

  • User Defined Fields greyed out for one user

    Hi Experts,
One of our users is a Super User but on the Business Partner Master Data screen, the User Defined Fields are greyed out.
This is user specific as the issue is happening for the same user on 2 seperate PCs.
Other users can update these UDFs - any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Greig

    Hi
take a look at this SAP Note :
Cannot access settings for the user defined fields
    Symptom
Cannot access settings for the User Defined Field(UDF)
    Other terms
UDF, user defined field, sbo-udf, settings for UDF are inactive, the settings for the udf are greyed out.
    Reason and Prerequisites
Need to use the Settings option to order the udf.
In Tools -> User Defined fields -> Settings the option 'Settings' is greyed out and inactive.
    Solution
If in Tools -> User Defined fields -> settings and this option is not available then return to the document and click anywhere in the main document window.
Now return to Tools -> User Defined fields -> settings and this option will now be active.

  • Validating User Defined Fields on the OIM User Object

    Hello everyone,
I'm currently using the OIM 11g, and am curious how to provide data validation for user defined fields.
We currently have two user-defined fields for day of birth and month of birth, which have been set to required, but I would like to take this a step further and actually validate that the data being entered is numerical (two characters max), and if it's not, a red box appears around the field notifying the admin that the entry needs to fit the expected criteria.
One example already in OIM is that of the email field. It appears to be using a regex to identify that data entered is of a certain format.
Can anyone here point me in the direction of some proper documentation so that I may learn how to incorporate this into my environment? Thanks!

    Hi Kate,
The only way to do it, is with Form Settings. Do not give them authorisations on Form Settings. You can then untick the "Active" tick box on certain fields and tick it on others. This can then be done, when you log on as the user him/herself.

  • Issue on Ordinary Depreciation Start Date and Disposal of Asset

    Hi All.
I am facing the following the issues.
Fiscal Year is from July - June
First Problem: Company acquired the asset Vehicle on 26.Dec.2008. System proposes Ordinary Depreciation Start Date as 01.Jan.2009 rather then proposing Ordinary Depreciation Start Date as 01.Dec.2008.
Since depreciation for previous year has been posted the client later found out that instead of calculating depreciation for 7 months depreciation was only calculated for 6 months. I tried to manually change the dep. start date but the system doesnot update the previous years values, it's still calculating depreciation for 6 months and not 7 months. Is there anyway in updating the previous fiscal years depreciation values.
2nd Problem: I created a test case scenario today i.e. 16.09.2009 by creating and capitalizing an asset vehicle. Once I capitalized the asset the system automatically proposed the start date as 01.10.2009 and not 01.09.2009 which is what i require. What setting do i need to check or maintain in order to solve this issue because the user does not want to manually change the date each time an asset is created.
3rd Problem: Similar to this now when client disposes of an asset suppose on 10.Feb.2009 (FY2009). The system calculates depreciation till the month in which disposal takes place (February), the client does not want this, their requirement is that depreciation should be calculated one month before disposal takes place i.e. in this case Dep should be calculated till Month of January.
Your assistance will be highly appreciated.
    Mohammed Ali Khan.

    Hello Khan,
The depreciation start date will get determined based on the period control method assigned to depreciation key,
Period control methods are defined in transaction code : OAVH
In period control method we will mention the depreciation start date for acquisition, additions and also depreciation end date for disposals, retirements.
SAP has given some default period control keys. If any of these are not suitable to your requirement you can create on your own period control methods.
    THanks
    Sai

  • How to determine Organizational Data based on User Login

    Dear all,
How to determine organizational data based on user login in Activity transaction, currently org determination is happening after entering customer number in the transaction.
We have used 'Responsibility' determination rule for this configuration. Now the requirement is to determine org data based on user login.
In Org model we have assigned user to org data through a business partner. But still org data is not getting determined in the transaction.
Please help me to trace out the problem.. your suggestions will be highly appreciated.
    Best regards
    Raghu ram

You just have to use other organization determination rule. In your case this would be rule 10000194 (ORGMAN_12). This determination rule delivers the responsible organizational unit of the user
User is defined as a business partner in the container attribute 'PARTNER'. If not, the system user (sy-uname) is used.
So you have to do the following:
    - use this determination rule
    - in BP link username with employee
    - assign in PPOMA_CRM employee or user to organizational unit
    This should solve your problem.

  • User Defined Field that gives the date output of the last price update.

We would like to create a User Defined Field (UDF) with a Formatted Search (FMS) on the Item Master form that gives the date output of the last price update specifically the wholesale price.
    Last Price Update
    Pricelist 2 = Wholesale
    Is this feasible?
If it is feasible what is the recommended approach?
Current working UDF on Item Master.
/* Date output is based on all the latest updates on the Item Master.*/
    select max(updatedate)
    from aitm
    where itemcode = $[oitm.itemcode]

    Thank you Gordon,
We are looking for the date output of the 'Last Price Update' based on 'Pricelist 2 = Wholesale' which is the challenge.
These 2 are the parameters for the date output, I should have mentioned that in my original message.
    Last Price Update
    Pricelist 2 = Wholesale
Per reading a bunch of other similar Forum Questions it looked like it is might not be possible to do. With there being no date on the AIT1 table and AITM.Updatedate is based on any and all updates not just last 'Last Price Update' and not sure how to use the loginstanc.

  • Error: "Depreciation start date required in old assets data (please enter)"

When , I use transaction AS91 , for an asset , with book depreciation key  = 0000, the system shows this error:"Depreciation start date required in old assets data (please enter)",
somebody could help me with this please?

Check if the depreciation start date has got populated in the tab for depreciation areas in AS91.
Usually this gets populated based on capitalization/creation date.If not then try to enter this manually.
    Thanks and regards

  • Alert based  on user defined query

    Hi
I have defined user defined field U_Jobnumber.I need to stop /inform user if user is trying to enter the same u_Jonbnumber again .This is being done at sales order (header level)
Can you please help me to provide solution
(Points will be awarded based on solution or advice )
    Thank you
    Bishal

    Hi Bishal,
Rather than using an alert, you could put validation code in the SBO_SP_TransactionNotification stored procedure to check for the same job number before the document is added. This is a permitted solution as SAP allow users to add their own sql code to this proc (provided it's not inserting or updating data in SBO system tables).
To set up this solution (on a test system):
    1) Open SQL Studio Management
    2) In the Object Explorer expand the company database, expand Programmability and Stored Procedures
    3) Right-click the SBO_SP_TransactionNotification stored procedure and choose Modify. This will create an update script in the main window.
    4) Look for the following section in the script:
    --     ADD     YOUR     CODE     HERE
    5) Underneath the above section, paste the following code:
    if @OBJECT_TYPE = '17' and @TRANSACTION_TYPE in ('U', 'A')
if exists(select DocEntry from ORDR where DocEntry <> cast(@LIST_OF_COLS_VAL_TAB_DEL as int)
                        and U_Jobnumber is not null and U_Jobnumber <> ''
                        and U_Jobnumber = (select U_Jobnumber from ORDR where DocEntry = cast(@LIST_OF_COLS_VAL_TAB_DEL as int)) )
              begin
set @ERROR = '9999' -- Set your own error code here
set @ERROR_MESSAGE = 'The Job Number entered has already been used on a previous sales order.'
              end
    6) Click on Execute and you should get a message stating that the update was successful
    7) Test adding a new sales order
The above script will raise an error when the user clicks on Add if a job number has been specified on the sales order and that number has already been used. It will not check if a job number has not been specified
    Kind Regards,
    Owen

  • User Defined Fields/data items

How can I add user defined fields on runtime in a pre-defined data blocks wiht the user defined attributes of data type, length and format masks.
Ofcouse I should have those fields defined in DB first.
    Thanks for any help

    I have a similar need.
I have a DB table that stores a list of questions and data types/sizes/usages of the answers required by the user of the form.
In a multi-record database block, I currently list the questions, and supply a Text Item to capture the user's answers, and then provide validation code to check for the proper data type & number of characters.
I would like to be able to use the data type/size/usage information that is stored with each question to create, at runtime, an appropriate item (numeric text item max length 3, or character drop-down list box, or character text item with an LOV, etc.) for each question record. In other words, one record could have a drop-down list box, while another record could have a numeric text item.
I think that I can create separate fields for each type of item, and then enable/disable the fields when required, but this solution is less elegant than the programmatic solution that I desire.
Is there a way to do this programmatically in Oracle Forms 6.0.5.0.2 for Windows, or with an OCX, or some other add-in? We do not have Oracle Applications in this group. Is there a way to get "FlexField" without having Oracle Applications?
I agree that this is a normal requirement these days as administrator-type users (as opposed to data-entry end-users) of applications want to be able to dynamically customize the app for their usage.
Oracle needs to address this issue by creating the ability in Forms/Reports to create customizable apps.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

  • How to display filtered data based on user login

We have a SSRS report (.rdlc) which gives the report about Online count of machines. Report is incoperayed in Asp.net.
We have many filters in This report. Now we have to retrict the report based on user login to the application .
For ex: report has a drop down for Regional Admin. Now if one person login to the application he has to view only his region online count.
How can we do this in SSRS?. We have our application hosted in Microsoft Azure . Please suggest

    Hi csmbrnoc,
In Reporting Services, if we want to filter data based on user login, then there must be some relationship between the UserID and the Region in the dataset. For example, there is a field named UserID in the dataset, and each ID map some region and the corresponding
“Online count of machines”. In this scenario, just as Visakh suggested, we can use built-in field User!UserID to obtain UserID of the current user, then directly add a filter to the dataset as below:
    Expression: [UserID]
    Operator: =
    Value: [&UserID]
If there are any other questions, please feel free to let me know.
