Calculated column of a request from Column Selector View.

hi,
A user wants to select the calculated column of a request from Column Selector View.
But he is able to select only those columns which are available in Selection Pane.
How can he fulfill this request

Take a column in your request criteria and change the name of the column and forumala to f(x)=qty* amount which is your calculated column and using column selector use this column as your user wish too.

I dont know how your proceeding,the solution i gave will definately work .Here are the steps
1)pull a column into the request criteria
2)rename the name of the column
3)go to formula in f(x) change according to your requirement for example:- quantity*unitprice
4) run the report and in results you would see the column.
5)From compound layout select column selector and see what you want is getting displayed.

In Business Objects Web Intelligence I would like to create a column that shows the sign '+' or '-' when a key figure KF1 is below 0 or above. How do I do this? It has to be a separate column. I already created a calculated key figure KF2 that has as formula ABS (KF1). KF1 itself must not be shown as contains amount and sign in one field. I need to separate these 2.

Hi All,
I'm still struggling with the same cube and this is my 3rd post and once i fix some thing the other breaks. Please forgive me. When i process my cube i'm getting the error:
Errors in the back-end database access module. OLE DB was unable to convert a value to the data type requested for column 5.
My question is when the error says column 5 (is it the column 5 in the DSV?) or is it the column 5 in the DIMENSION list?
My next question is the DSV Query works perfectly fine , so why this error in cube? This is what i have in the query in DSV.
Please need help. In the below query both the column 5 (ArEASSIGNED TO VENDOR) in the CUBE and underlying table have the same data type and length VARCHAR(4000). Why is the process failing still?

I just counted the columns from the top:

I don't know anything about cubes, but apparently there is some mapping problem when you run it from SSAS. (I assume it is SSAS, a part of the product I'm entirely ignorant of.) I figured that if you had got tripped by the zero-based numbering, you
might be staring on the wrong column.

Hi All,
I'm still struggling with the same cube and this is my 3rd post and once i fix some thing the other breaks. Please forgive me. When i process my cube i'm getting the error:

My question is when the error says column 5 (is it the column 5 in the DSV?) or is it the column 5 in the DIMENSION list?
My next question is the DSV Query works perfectly fine , so why this error in cube? This is what i have in the query in DSV.
Please need help. In the below query both the column 5 (ArEASSIGNED TO VENDOR) in the CUBE and underlying table have the same data type and length VARCHAR(4000). Why is the process failing still?

Problem with Column Sorting in Request Table View

We've enabled column sorting on the table view in an Answers request but it doesn't work when more than around 400 rows are returned. It works Ok when fewer than 400 rows are returned. Does anyone know if there is a specific limit to the number of rows where column sorting works?

I've dug into the query log a little more. When this request returns more than around 400 records and you click on a column heading to sort the table view, the query from the log is not changing to reflect the new sort order. It stays as whatever the default sort order was for the request.
Column heading sorting on other requests in different subject areas on this same server works fine. I've tested this other request with up to 6400 rows returning and it's sorting works.
All caching is turned off for the subject area.

Xsql:delete-request key-columns has to be form posted data?

I am trying to link a hyperlink "delete" on a table to a page "jobs-list-delete.xsql?jobnumber={JOBNUMBER}". When I use:

it worked fine. but I want to use "delete" as a hyperlink instead of a button, so I tried the following:

unfortunately, it didn't work with the above hyperlink.
I would like to know if xsql:delete-request key-columns value has to be form posted data instead of a query string in an URL from a hyperlink. Is there any way to work around this?
The code I used in jobs-list-delete.xsql is as follows:

<xsql:delete-request> works with a posted XML request or a POST'ed HTML form.
To delete things with a simple HTTP GET, you can use <xsql:dml> and a DELETE statement.

Alter table type from COLUMN to ROW

TABLE type can be changed from ROW to COLUMN (and vice versa) using the ALTER TABLE command .

Lets suppose , if the above can be done , but there exists a interdependency for the column table (say from another simultaneous operation) , and thus should remain as COLUMN table as such . so what would be the better option in this case .
Creating views is not an option as it seems from the SQL guide , that there was not an option to create a ROW view from a COLUMN table. ?

1. you cann't alter table from column to row using alter command.
but you can achieve this through Stored procedure, just Little bit HSQL coding.

Column table is high compress ( 5 - 20X), i don't think you want get any performance issue when read information from column table. that is actual Core engine reading parller process. ( that is Heart of HANA).
Column table purpose quite different like calculations, grouping.. most of DW environment Queires.
Row table is currently system tables in feature row tables as OLTP, it's less compress mode compress to column store.

I have a calculated "Year total" column that sums 12 month columns. In our business $0.00 is not the same as null, so i have some columns without numeric data. My calculated column is only working when there is numeric data in all 12 months and i need it to work for rows where some columns are null.

i'm working with my jsf application to create a datatable.
It works well,but now i've added a commandlink button to dynamically adding a new column(i use this datatable for input data,each row is an experiment).
It works fine,column is correctly added.
At the end of each row of my datatable i've a submit button to send values of the row into db.
My question is:
My datatable has 5 fixed fields and other dinamic fields that user can add with button. My 5 fixed values have to go into a table(and it works) and i want that dynamic values(that use has added) go into another table,each one as a different row.
Example
usa italy french england japan rome tokyo
i want usa italy french englan japan go into a table(as a row) and rome tokio goes into another table
rome
tokio(different rows).
How can i do it?
My problem is i'm not able to binding the dynamic input fields to bean....can you help me?

Interactive report: Can I exclude a particular column from single row view?

Hi -- I posted on this yesterday (Possible to exclude interactive report column from single row display?
a bit anxious for suggestions, I guess!
I've added a column with edit-link functionality to my interactive report query (that is, the link
is not attached to the database data... it's an additional column and shows an icon). It's also
in addition to the default single row view link. (We need both.)
Unfortunately, the Edit link column shows up in the single row view. I've pared it down as much
as I can: the label is empty, and the null value shows as "-". But an extra row with "-" is pretty
ugly. Is there a way to always, completely exclude this column from the single row view?
I know I could put the edit link on a data column, but:
1) I want the link to always be to the left of the data (and the user can re-order columns)
2) when the user doesn't have edit privileges, the link will need to be disabled or just not
be displayed, and I think that would be a problem if the link were on the data. (true?)

Please disregard this thread, and the one it refers back to. I see a flaw in the design of what I was attempting to do! Creating the link for Editing as a column means the user could inadvertently not display it, or move it, or... any number of problematic scenarios.

How to use the same function in a column so it varies from row to row.

In a spreadsheet, I have four columns: item, quantity, price, total cost.
How can I write a function (product) for the entire "total cost" column that automatically will place the correct "total cost" for the item in that row; i.e.: =product(quantity,price)
This would save time by writing one function for the entire column so that the function would not have to be written for each row.

Question asked and responded several times.
If quantity is in column C and price in column D,
the common soluce is to use the formula:
=C2*D2 in E2
then use the fill down tool which will automatically create the formulas
=C3*D3
=C4*D4
As I am a lazy guy, I use a shorter formula:
=C*D
and fill down reproduce it as is in the other cells.
In fact I use
=ROUND(C*D,2)

I'm still growing in the world of Composition, and I know that it is something I will be studying in one of my Computer Music classes coming up for my degree. I think it is something I will look into getting once I can justify the price of it. I guess for the time being, I will continue to play and grow in my ability to use and take advantage of GB, and then see what I can do about or with Logic Pro when I'm ready. The thought of spending $1000 for a program is hard to bite, because I've already spent a lot to produce my music, not only electronic music, but also chamber music and so on.
