Calculated Keyfigures Fromm Bex Query into BO without Unit

Hello,
We built a Universe on top of Inventory Query from Bex Query Designer. We have Calculated Key figures defined on both Restricted Key Figures and also just as the sum of one or more InfoObjects.
In the Universe some Standard Keyfigures based off of InfoObjects are shown as folders with Unit value, but the Calculated Key Figures are simply shown as a Measure - it does not have a folder associated that gives the Unit of Measure.
If we run the same Query from Bex Analyzer all the Calculated Keyfigures have units associated with them.
Can you please let me know if any of you have the same issue.
Thank you,
Jennifer

Ingo,
We are using Business Objects 3.1
Example:  The universe is built off of a Bex Query that is going against the standard MultiProvider 0IC_MP04.  The query has as part of the key figures the following:
Standard InfoObjects:  0VALSTCKQTY (valuated stock qty) and 0TRANSSTOCK (Stock in Transit)
Calculated Key Figure:  CKF_INV_QUANTITY.  This key figure is defined as 0VALSTCKQTY + 0TRANSSTOCK.
When I look at the Key Figures for the universe that sits on top of this query, the two standard InfoObjects have a folder that contains:  1)  Valuated stock quantity (as a measure) 2) Valuated stock qty Unit (as a dimension) and 3) Valuated Stock qty Formatted (as a dimension).  The Stock in Transit is treated the same way.
However, for the calculated key figure, CKF_INV_QUANTITY, I only see the measure that pertains to the sum of the two fields.  I do not have a unit associated with that value.
Thanks,
Jennifer

    Hi Guys,
We built a Universe on top of Inventory Query from Bex Query Designer. We have  lot of Calculated Key figures built on Restricted Keyfigures.
In the Universe some Calculated Keyfigures are shown as folders with Unit value and some of them are not shown in folder and hence it is not bringing the Unit.
If we run the same Query from Bex Analyzer all the Calculated Keyfigures have units associated with them.

    Thank you,

    Hello PVK,
I recommend to post this query to the [Integration Kits - SAP|BusinessObjects Integration Kits; forum.
This forum is dedicated to topics related to the BusinessObjects Integration Kit for SAP.
It is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all SAP Kit queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.

  • Error When Launcging BEX query into Web Browser

    Hi all,
When Launching Bex query into Web browser from BEx Analyser it's giving this error message. We are using Bex 3.x tools.
    Technical Information for Message:
    Error loading template 0ADHOC
      Notification Number BRAIN 276
    Any help will appreciated!.
    Thanks,

If you want to continue to use the ABAP-based runtime, create the template using the Web Application Designer (SAP BW 3.x).
The templates called using the new Web Application Designer have new objects that are independent of the objects saved using Web Application Designer 3.x. This means that, unlike the old templates, they can no longer be called using parameter template_id=abc. Instead, you can address them from an iView using template=abc and they use the Java Web runtime in the portal. Only the old templates can be executed in transaction RSRT.
In Web Application Designer 3.x, you can use parameter template_id=abc to call saved objects.
Note 1014795 - Error BRAIN 276 when you execute a Web template
    Hope it Helps

  • Difference between  aggregation and calculation tab in BEx Query Designer

    HI,
I am using BEx Query Designer for my report, for the key figures in the coloumn area i slected one numeric key figures, in  the properties tab i found aggregation tab and calculation tab.
I need to sum up the total values for that particualar coloumn, when i used calculation tab i found to sum all the values for a particular coloumn, then what is the use the aggreagation tab?
I not able to used that Aggregation tab it is showing as a hidden fields...
can any one tell me whats the exact difference between these tabs and when we need to use which tab?
    With Regards,
    Thanesh Kumar.

    Hi Thanesh Kumar,
I moved this thread from forum Data Warehousing to Business Explorer since it is a query related question (as SDN moderator).
I could explain to you the difference between these two tabs.
For "calculation" tab, it changes the display of result and does not change the calculation logic.
It means that, if this key figure is used further in formula, still the original number (without "calculation" tab setting)  is used for further formula calculation.
For "aggregation" tab, it changes the real calculation logic.
The system takes the setting as the aggregation rule for records.
The most common aggregation rule is of course summation. If you set to e.g. Average here, the system does the
Average instead of summation when aggregating records. And the Average value will be taken for calculation
in further formulas or other calculations.
For "aggregation" tab, you could only use it for CKF (calculated key figure) or formula and you could not use it for
a basic key figure. That should be the reason why you see it greyed-out.

  • Issue while importing bex query into BO

    Hi EXperts,
I am using Bo xi 3.1 sp3 i am facing the issue while building the universe with bex query iam getting the following error   "Error getting measures for cube (cube name(0QM_C09_Q003)),It is giving this error, i resolved this error by check cumultave property in th measures,is it right to do like this or is there any other way to resolve the issue.
    Regards
    Suraj

    Hi Juhi,
I am facing the same issue. BW query has three input parameters i.e. Year, Month and Profit center.
I can create the service when query has only one input parameter i.e. Year. But when query has more parameter other than year, I cant create the service. Getting an error 'Association AZPROFIT_CToListOfValues: referential constraint property not found in entity ZMFIGL_ZFIGL_COST_FINAL_FIORIParameter.'
As per your last reply, if we have multiple input parameters then it does not allow to create the service from BEX query. How did you resolve this issue. Please provide some details.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • HELP! How to make RRI from BEX query into Workbook with one report???

How to make RRI from query into Workbook???

    Hi Alex,
A workbook is a set format of queries, so when you try to jump to another query , you will definitely open another session and hence another excel file. This is the same for web templates also though you have an option of opening the new result in the same window.
You would have to use some macros and open the query on the same page. A RRI is a query jump and not a drill down . A drill down would be getting more of the dimensions into the query.

  • Calculating Age in BEx Query

I want to calculate age of Order based on Order create date. I am having order create date as key figure date in Order cube. Age is calculated at runtime as (Last day of month) - Order create Date. For Example.
If ORder 'A' is created in 10/01/2004 and if query is executed at 12/31/2004 then Query should produce output  as follows:
    Order Number        Month    Age
    A                   10/2004  31 Days
    A                   11/2004  61 Days
    A                   12/2004  92 Days
In my infocube I've only one record for this order with Order number and Order create date. How to produce above mentioned o/p from this.
    Thanks,
    Milind

    Hi Milind,
if you are looking for a web solution, use a table interface to create a new column for the age. You can calculate the value for the order age with the table interface, too. An advantage of this table interface solution is, that you can concatenate your unit [days] into the output range, like "31 Days".
For BEx Analyzer, you can create a VBA macro to get the same advantage...

  • Jump from (RRI) BEx query parsing infoobject without MD to source system

    Hi!
I have a snag that I hope someone out there will be able to help me with. I have a query that cointains purchasing line items. I want to jump from a purchasing order number in the query to transaction me23n (display purchasing order) in the source system.
This works fine in the portal (don't ask me why there's a difference..) where ECC is launched as a new portal window and the data is parsed correctly. But when attemting to do the same in BEx Analyser the system pops a dialog demaning that I choose which infosource should be used for reversing the infoobject into the proper ECC table field...
Now the infoobject is 0REF_DOC_NR, and it doesn't have any masterdata or texts.. so there is no "papertrail" for the system to follow back to the source.
In RSBBS the I have selected delete for all other infoobjects and set the line for 0_ref_doc_nr like this:
InfoObject: Reference Document Number, Type: Table Field, Field Name: EBELN, Selection Type: Parameter, Required Entry: X, Data Element: EBELN, Domain: Blank, SET/GET Parameter: BES
    Any tips?

  • Performing ranking calculations with the BEx Query Designer - ideas?

I have a scenario where I have a key figure with raw values.  In the column beside this I want to rank the key figures by their raw values.
    Something like this:
    Amount      Rank
       0.11           2
       0.05           3
       0.22           1
       0.03           4
I can do this no problem using the "Calculate Single Values as:" Ranked List.
For subsequent calculations I need to perform mathematical operations on the RANK column.    For example say I want to make a 3rd column where I divide the rank by 2:
    Amount      Rank     Rank by 2
       0.11           2             1
       0.05           3            1.5
       0.22           1            0.5
       0.03           4             2
I cannot figure out how to do this as SAP does not really STORE the values of the rank column for my next calculation.  The "Rank by 2" column actually shows this:
    Rank by 2
        0.065
        0.0025
         0.11
        0.015
which is dividing the original amount by 2 and not the actual RANK value.
Anyone have some suggestions on what I can do?

I know what you are talking about, it will always return 1 or zero which is true or false, I don't think you can do anything much to this. Since, the value of Ranked is getting calculated at runtime.
    thanks.

  • BEx Query:  Attribute not display Unit of Measure (UOM)

In a BEx I am trying to create a query that displays attributes to 0EMPLOYEE.  One of the custom attributes is the employee's rate of pay.  We have the hourly rate, nightly rate, etc.  This attribute is a numeric attribute with currency assigned as the Unit of Measure.  I am trying to create a query displaying the pay rates from the attributes of 0EMPLOYEE but remove the unit of measure in the output.  I am aware this can be done on key figures using the NODIM formula.  How can I remove on an attribute?
Example:  Output is $10.25 UOM.  I want it to display as $10.25.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Create a Formula Variable with Replacement Path for this Attribute.
Use NODIM function for the Formula Variable.
Let me know if it works according to your requirement.

  • Keyfigure has value in BEx query, but shows zero/0 in Webi

    Hi community,
I have the following issue with a Bex query with 2 structures:
in Bex, the budget column shows figures right. but in Webi, it shows zero for certain profit KPIs (calc. keyfigures, CKFs).
only for these KPI cells, it is not a general issue with that budget column!
in the Bex cell editor, I have created cell references for these profit KPI cells, but that should not be relevant.
As SAP cannot connect to our BO Webi via OSS properly, I would like to address you.
anyone had a similar situation or solution?
every hint is appreciated! Many thanks and
    best,
    Phil

    Hi Ingo
I am also currently meeting such a problem.
I have Cubic Meter stored in my cube and my BEx query. Also, in my BEx query, I have a unit conversion to convert Cubic Meter to Cubic Feet.
In WebI, when I pull out both Cubic Meter and Cubic Feet, Cubic meter returns me 0, while cubic feet returns me a figure.
Below are the settings of the BW & BOBJ system:
    SAP BW SP6
    BOBJ SP2 FP2.3
Hope to hear from you soon.

  • Using result of a Calculated Keyfigure as input for a Virtual Keyfigure

    Hi experts,
is it possible, to use the result of a calculated keyfigure of a query for the input of a virtual keyfigure und use the virtual keyfigure within the same query?
My problem: depending on drilldown, I have a different percentage within the calculated keyfigure. And depending on that value, I would like to read a score out of a DSO and fill a virtual keyfigure with that, and show the score in the same query. In my opionion, the only way to calculate the score is on the fly, depending on the navigation step I do. Maybe there is another approach that I do not know.
I was glad for any ideas. Thank you in advance!
    Regards
    F.L.

    Hi,
Sorry but a calculated key figure result cannot be used in a virtual key figure calculation. The reason purely being that the CKF calculations happen after the Virtual KF/ Char calculations (through BAdI or CMOD).
The only solution i see here is that you will need to do the calculations in the VKF logic itself. Please do remember that VKF calculations and population happens for each record bein fetched into OLAP from the Infoprovider for the Filters put into the report.
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks,
    Abhishek.

  • BW Variables not showing up in universe based on BEX query

We've been trying to create BO Universes on BEx Queries.  When we create the connection, it reads the query into the Universe, however, it does not always read all of the BW variables associated with the queries.  We've moved all filters in the BEx Query into Free Characteristics but BO Designer still does not read them into the universe or create them as mandatory filters in the universes as the documentation states.  Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks

    Hi -
I assume that you might have kept the filters(Variables) in Default Values section. Only filters which are placed in Characterstic restrictions will appear in Universe Designer. Thanks!

  • Condition for Calculated KeyFigure

    Hi everyone,
I need to have an additional Keyfigure based on a Condition. For example, If  Staus is Completed , then I need to take  the Net Price as Allocated Price. And if Status is Incomplete , then I need to fill the Net Price as UnAllocated Price.
So , in this case , I will have 2 Calculated KeyFigures in the Query Designer. One for Allocated Price and the other for Unallocated Price. But how can I restrict t the values based on Status.
    For Example
Status            Net Price       Allocated Price      UnAllocated Prcie
    Complete          100                   100                       0
    InComplete        200                   0                          200
    1) Is there any way tht  we can avoid displaying Unallocated Price for Complete Status(Since value will be Zero) and Allocated Price for Incomplete Status
2)Is it better to have these values calculated in END ROutine in the BackEnd.(But this might affect the performance as I require these values only for this Report and I have more than 2 Reports based on the same InfoProvider)
    Thanks and Regards,
    Samir

    Hi,
Could you please let us know what will be the value of the status field if it is incomplete. Suppose if you have an EMPTY value if it is not complete, you can use the IF ELSE condition with the Boolean operation in the Calculated Keyfigure or Formula as below,
(Status ==1)* Unallocated Keyfigure + (Status NOT EQUAL 1)*allocated Keyfigure
If it is not the case then better to handle it at the routine level. Hope this helps.

  • Exporting BEx Query results to CSV or other files.

    Hi All,
We have a report designed in WAD, which uses a BEx query to display department’s information. Because of amount of data in the results it crashes when u get all the Free Characters into ROWS(Error is : Result set too large(552244 cells); data retrieval restricted by configuration (maximum =500000 cells).  It is a requirement from the user to have all the free characteristics in the rows( which I can understand is not the right way to go ahead). As it is crashing when you add last characteristic(WBS Purpose)  into the rows, they aren’t able to export data into spread sheet from the results. (as there are no results)
Now my question is…..is there any way we can export the results from BEX query into any format for example text or csv? If yes, can we schedule that process? Please note that this characteristics are displayed as hierarchies.
Am new to SAP BW and its been only six months since I have been in this role. Any help would be much appreciated???
I looked online and some where in the forum it was mentioned of using program RSCRM_BAPI, but looks like it needs some sort of downloads from SAP.
Is there any other way to export the BEx query results?
    Cheers
    Sandeep

    Hello Sandeep,
You can use the Item "Context Menu" in your WAD and in the properties by default you can see the Options:
Export to Excel & Export to CSV will be there and also there are many options which you wanted to see.
    It works for you!!!
