Calculation in COPA

Hi Friends,
Is there a way I can do a calculation based on a formula in COPA? I know we can use key figure for this purpose but my scenario is we have a sales discount posted to one customer and it needs to be distributed to the customers based on the revenue on them. I tried Key figure but to do calculation I need (Sales discount* Customer A revenue)/ Total revenue. I am not able to find a way to get the total revenue as it is not stored any where and it is calculated on the fly based on no. of customers. Any thoughts????

Answer to your question is both Yes and No
For such instances, you can use Top Down Distribution. But, you can not distribute from one customer to another customer.... You can distribute from customer group to the customers belonging to the customer group
For eg: You posted discounts on Customer A belonging to Cust Grp XYZ.....  You can distribute it to all other customers belonging to the same group XYZ... So, the Grp XYZ gets retained, but the customer changes after distribution
If you have set up your system in such a way, that would allow the flow of values from Top Level to Lower levels, then you can distribute

    Is it possible to perform such calculation in COPA?
    This calculation is possible in SD using ABAP routine, however, due to performance concern of posting billing document (we have so many billing documents generated per hour), if possible, I would like to perform this calculation in COPA.

  • COPA calculated key figures and scheme on R/3 side

    We have created calculated key figures on the R/3 side and inputted formula (which is essentially the scheme/basic formula in transaction KER1) for this key figure.  We then checked off this key figure in the COPA datasource.  These key figures are only adding and subtracting certain elements for a particular record.  In RSA3 on the R/3 side, this key figure is calculated correctly.  In BW, in the PSA, it's calculated correctly.  The problem is when it goes to the ODS.  It gets no values.  All 0's.
    Does anyone have any ideas?  It's straight forward mapping and I'm thinking it's a bug, but wanted to check if there was anyone that had this problem before and some "hidden" config had to be done.

    I have a requirement in which i would like to calculate some key figures in COPA as sales revenue.
    I would like for e.g to calculate the following: Cusomter Price Based Discount but do not know what to take into consideration.
    Is there any document which can help me to build it?
    I have  created the generic datasource based on the table CE1XXXXX.

    The steps in that document was already being done.
    I have all Key Figures comin from CE1xxx Table. We are using the cost based COPA.
    My problem now is to build some Key Figures as sales revenue (Sales View) like for e.g Cusomter Price Based Discount.
    I would like to know how to proceed to build them. Any sample?
    Is it possible to build them directly based only on the generated extractor? or should i have to take dta from Billing as well?

  • Production Variances of semifinished goods in COPA

    Hi,
    We are using Costing based COPA, which is updated at the time of billing.
    The production variances are posted to COPA when the settlement of the production orders are done.
    The production variances if brought within the purview of COPA report (based on sales), the plan vs actuals can be compared. However, in case of actuals, the production variances would appear only to the extent of tha particular product sold (that too, to the extent of qty produced and not qty sold)..
    I have two issues:
    1. Whether system can explode the BOM and bring in the production variances of semi-finished goods into the total production variances, if I drill down only on the Finished product sold. The total actual cost would include the variances of relevant SFG also. Is this possible, if so how?
    2. Whether, by bringing production qty and sales qty, the proportionate prod variances be calculated (total prod var * sales qty / prod qty). This can surely be done by inserting formulae. But is this justified from business point of view?
    Please help me resolving this issue..

    Issue No.1:
    When you are using only Standard Costing in CO-PC, variances will not get rolled-up to the next level. Only costs get rolled-up. As per your requirement, when you see the report in COPA, when you see the details of FG and you want to see the variances of it's SFG also, this would be possible only if you have activated Material Ledger. If ML is active, variances also get rolled-up along with costs.
    Issue No.2:
    The ultimate purpose of bringing Variances into COPA and making part of them in a report is to consider COGM subject to the variances. Though it is not 100% justified, it gives you the most appropriate analysis compared to where you don't consier the variances at all. If you don't consider variances there, that means, you are considering only COGM and not taking the effect of variances, which will definitely not a correct picture of Profitability.

  • Custom Calculation Script to copy value of a field

          I'm trying to copy the value of a field into another field and display it in the pdf. This is for the 1099's. We are trying to print 2 copies(Copy B and Copy 2) in one page. The first field will come from the XML file. I need to copy the value of this field into the second field. Can anyone please help me with the calculation script for this. I tried the getField.value and it didn't work in the pdf. Thanks.

    Hi,
    There are a couple of approaches.
    One would be to put the script in the radio buttons that when clicked would do the calculate and set the value of the numeric field.
    Another would be to have the script in the calculate event of the numeric field looking back at the value of the radio button. Taking this approach the script in the numeric field calculate event would look like this:
    if (radioButton.rawValue == 1) // radio button bound to 1 is on/yes
         this.rawValue = ; // your calculation goes here
    else
         this.rawValue = null;
    This is testing the value of the radio button and then taking appropriate calculations.

  • Incoming orders in COPA not working if Sales Order blocked for Credit Check

    Hi all,
    We need to build a report showing all incoming sales order by entry date and/or change date (change of values or quantities later on). COPA allows to do this, but the problem is that COPA line item table is only updated if the sales order is released from credit check (VKM3). I am looking for a solution to be able to record sales orders in COPA even if they are still blocked for credit check. By doing that we will be able to report all sales orders entered from COPA and provide basis for commissions calculation to the business.
    I have investigated possible COPA enhancements like COPA0005 but it doesn't seem to be used at the time of sales order save.

    As you said , the credit check in the service order is information message "Credit check (maximum percentage for ope
    exceeded)" .
    If you enter and come out this message then one more message will come , i.e., "The business transaction can not be carried out" detail message -  System status CNOK is active (ORD XXXXXXX).
    with the above message , system will not allow to do the Service order release.
    In this particular case , we have done the VKM1 for the sales order to unblock the order from credit check . But again system is checking the credit check at service order (created w.r.t sales order) . we are not able to control this .
    we also suggested the solution to the customer , saying removal of credit check for service orders . But customer requires credit check to happen at both the documents.

    We have created all P&L item as cost element except
    1.Change in WIP for WIP calculation in Product Costing
    2. Price Difference (OBYC- PRD) Variance will be calculated from settlement profile
    Values in COPA are
    1.     VV001  - Quantity (KWBRUM) Quantity field
    2.     VV002 u2013 Price  (PR00) Revenue account of sales (Cost Category 11)
    3.     VV002 -  Material Cost-COGS (VPRS)
    4.     VV003 -  Discount Given (SD Condition)  (Cost Category 12)
    5.     VV005 u2013 Fright (SD Condition)  (Cost Category 12)
    6.     VV005 u2013 Misc Exp (SD  Condition) (Cost Category 12)
    7.     VV006 -  Consumption and Cost of Production, Revaluation, inv diff account
    8.     VV007 u2013 admin expenses
    9.     VV008  - Employees cost
    10.     VV009 u2013 financial cost (interest paid etc deprecation cost, audit exp)
    11.     VV010 u2013 Settlement of Variances of Production order (from settlement profile)
    12.     VV011 - Other income GL accounts (including Exch Rate Diff, profit on sale of asset etc)
    From VV005 to VV009 all the GL account included are created as primary cost element (C category 01)
    and assigned in OKB9 as transfer to PA structure and assigned in PA transfer FI (direct posting form FI)

    Issue we are facing
    1. In Consumption and Cost of Production GL account (Movement type 101 and 261 from production order ) we are not
    able to generate Profit analysis document.
    2. Price difference also come in picture at the time of Stock transfer and Price diff GL account is not created as cost element and how to flow that in copa, price difference from settlement will come from settlement profile.
    Format we have created for COPA report is like
    1.Quantity Field
    2.Selling Price  (PR00)
    3 Material Cost (VPRS)
    4 Discount Given
    5. Fright
    6. Misc Exp
    7. Consumption and Cost of Production, Revaluation, inv diff account

  • Post implementation COPA Issue - Variances not setteled for process orders

    Hi Experts,
    The client implemented COPA in the FY 2011. There were many process orders existing in the system prior to implementation of COPA. Now the client trying to archive the old process order and trying to set deletion flag  and system throwing error message u2018variances were not calculated fullyu2019.
    But client saying orders were settled and no variances existing prior to COPA implementation.
    My queries are:
    1. The orders are created prior to COPA Implementation and they were settled as well long back.  After COPA implementation why system calculating variances once again.
    2. How can I check whether the variances got settled for the process order?  Please give me the report or transaction code?
    3. Can I settle the variances to COPA Transfer structure now for the orders which were created before COPA Implementation and what will be the impact?

    Hi Sri,
    It should be settle the process orders before COPA implementations and find below my answers point by point.
    1.System will not calculate again variance, once you settle the process orders, you can close the orders, so it will improve the system efficiency and system will those orders in future to calculate the variances.
    2.are u try to close the order, if it is settle the order, system will allow to close the order or vice-versa.(T.code-ask PP consultants).
    3.i have mentioned clearly, previous reply,it should not be open orders.
    please let me know any further information is required.

  • SA Schedule Lines from MD03 date calculation

    Please find the following snap from MD03 ,
    here the schedule lines generated dt 06-06-14, for this material planned delivery time and GR processing time is zero in material master,
    In info record planned delivery time is 1 day, I unable to understand why system generated the schedule after 4 days
    Then I created new material copying the above material and done MD03 for newly created then the schedule lines generated on 02-06-14, Why the system proposes two different schedule dates for new material and ol material?
    I searched the forum and checked all the available configurations and finally found
    IMG-Production-MRP-Planning-scheduling and capacity parameters-Parameters for determining the basic date
    when i checked the box for Start in past and again run the MD03 for the same material, then the results as follows, which is correct i think as per MMR
    Though i got the required results but did not understand what is this field Start in Past does? how the calculations takes place, what will be the effect if i keep this checked ?

    But how these fields were populated?? I think at the time of creation of SA, material master has the data and it has been carried forward, is it right
    Either a user manually maintained the values that you have in the SA or these values where at time of creation present in either the material master or the info record.
    The system (depending on the config set-up) copies the values in the following sequence to the SA.
    If values are maintained in the info record the system will adopt the data from the info record
    If no values in the info record then the system will copy the data from the material master record.
    I can't judge from here what values where maintained where. You can check the change logs to check if you can find the values back. In case you can not find the values in the change logs then it's likely that the values where manually maintained in the SA.
    But How this Parameters for determining the basic date work ?
    The determination of the date works based on the backward and forward scheduling.
    The system will first schedule using backward scheduling if this is not possible then forward scheduling is used.
    Some explanation on backward and forward scheduling.
    Backward scheduling explained
    When scheduling materials in SAP MRP, the system will first try to backward schedule the materials.
    With backward scheduling is meant that the SAP MRP system will start to count backward from the
    requirement date and will then determine the delivery date. As long as this date is later then the current
    date, the delivery date will be determined without a problem.
    Below image shows a graphical representation of backward scheduling.
    Forward scheduling explained
    Forward scheduling is used by the SAP MRP system when the date determined by the backward
    scheduling process is lying before the actual date. The forward scheduled date is determined by taking
    today’s date and then adding all the relevant processing time to determine the possible delivery date.
    This kind of scheduling will throw an exception message in the MRP view screen (MD04 / MD06 /
    MD07). These exception messages are telling the materials expeditor that action from her/his part is
    required in order to either postpone the production of the finished good or to work with the vendor to
    pull forward the required materials.

  • Historical stock on table MARDH is different than calculation from MB5B.

    I've checked stock on posting date (MB5B) is correct, comparing with MMBE as well as the physical inventory stock.
    Now I'm checking my historical stock (table MARDH) on period 06.2010, for specific material, plant and storage location is not the same result with MB5B in the same selection. Using my own calculation, MB5B is the correct one.
    No problem found at period 04, 05 or 07.
    What is the possible reason of this difference in table MARDH?

    We are creating POs from interface program "Import Standard Purchase Order Program". Only for few of the POs, we are encountering the error 'Warning: An error occurred during tax calculation

  • Production Order Variance not posting to COPA

    Hi,
    I am hoping someone can help.
    We settle our production order variances to COPA. - usually without any problem. The production orders settle to both Material (Mat) and PSG
    However this month we had a situation where for 2 order there was no settlement to COPA for the variance.
    For these 2 production orders there was no settlement rule to PSG in the master data so this obviously explains why it didnt create a settlement document but my dilemma is understanding why there is no PSG settlement rule.
    Through testing it appears that the PSG settlement rule is not created at the time of production order creation at all but seems to be automatically created after the execution of KKS2 and CO88.
    The 2 orders that I had  issue with this month were for a new material and I am able to recreate this probelm for any new Production order against this new material. So I suspect that there is something specific to this material that is prveventing the PSG settlement rule from being created.
    But this is where I am stuck! I can't find any setting in material master or other area that would seem to impact this.

    Hi,
    First you can settle these 2 orders individually with using KO88 Transaction code and see if there is any error. Also check the settlement profile of these 2 production orders.there you can check the " variances to costing-based PA" tick is there or not.If tick is not selected there,you can select the check box and run variance calculation (KKS2) and do the settlement for these 2 production orders (KO88).

    These are broadly the requirements for settling production variances:
    1.) The production variances first need to be calculated in CO-PC.
    2. Your PA transfer structure must contain assignments of variance categories to COPA value fields.
    3. In the settlement profile, you define the variances to be settled and profitability segments should be a valid receiver.
    4. The settlement rule to profitability segments is created automatically based on the information available in the production order (product, product group, plant and so on).
    5. You must have maintained number ranges for record type "C".
    6. The desired form of Profitability Analysis (costing based) must be active in the relevant controlling area.

    I'm having the following scenario:
    1. Goods receipt from production for finish goods at standard price P1;
    2. Calculation and change of standard price to P2;
    3. Period end closing in CO - variances and settlement to COPA - variances are calculated related to P1;
    4. Goods issue and invoice - VPRS is P2
    I need to know if it is possible to have at the moment of invoice on VPRS the price from the goods receipt. And how can I do that?

    Correct me if I am wrong, Zara is not saying VPRS value is not the same as PGI. Zara's concern is GR is happening with P1 standard price and PGI is happening with P2 (new cost estimate). Zara wants to have PGI also with the P1 cost estimate. (ultimate aim is to have VPRS value to be picked from GR, i.e. P1 cost estimate ----- in this case)
    Whatever the 1st answer given by you is the ideal one, but Zara's concern is if she uses the previous cost estimate, for this scenario it matches, but if GR and PGI happens in the same period (i.e. current period) there will be a problem, system considers the previous cost estimate instead of current.

    I hope my understanding is right, if not excuse me for misunderstanding.
    And I hope this is the standard behavior....
