Callable Object transport issue

I created a callable object of WebDynpro application. It works fine.
But when I transported the WebDynpro application and the GP Callable object to another server, the callable object is not able to pull the text, description and other information abt the WebDynpro application, input and output parameters.
I get error as "Cannot read callable object description from component:"
I have un-deployed and re-deployed the callable objects with all its reference.
Please help me on this.
Other details - I am using EP 7.0 for GP and NWDS 7.0 SP14 for WebDynpro application.

Problem solved.. Some problem with the transport file itself. Some Callable objects were not transported.

  • Object Transport Issue

    Hi Experts,
    When an object in Inactive state is transported from dev to qa(say). what happens? will the old version object is imported into QA?

    Hi,
    Yes, the same Old version will be exist in QA if you transport Inactive objects. Objects needs to be activated before doing transport to next environment then only new version will be avble in QA.

  • Predefined Callable object instantiation

    Hi everyone. I was wondering if there is a way to call a predefined callable object from an EJB/Webservice or any other component.
    My specific requirement is to use the GP templates, to send notification e-mails. I already have work flows configured to use <i>com.sap.caf.eu.gp.callobj.mail.NotificationCO</i> object. I'm having trouble with the portal's lack of support for holiday/weekend recognition, so I have to develop a component which can deal with notifications and due dates.
    My intention is to be capable of instantiating a <i>NotificationCO</i> which handles the e-mail  issues for me. My second best option is to be capable of accessing the GP templates and send the e-mails myself.

    Problem solved.. Some problem with the transport file itself. Some Callable objects were not transported.

  • Error building/creating WD Callable Object

    Hello guys,
    Pardon for reposting - I did post on the WD Java thread - and I think this is the more appropriate area to ask this question since its GP Callable Objects related.
    While creating a WD Callable Object: I
    I added Used DC: caf/eu/gp/api/wd to the WD DC. And added IGPWebdynproCO on the Implemented Interface. Afterwards, after building the DC, I got the following errors:
    This compilation unit indirectly references the missing type com.sap.caf.eu.gp.co.api.IGPTechnicalDescription (typically some required class file is referencing a type outside the classpath)
    The project was not built since its classpath is incomplete. Cannot find the class file for com.sap.caf.eu.gp.co.api.IGPTechnicalDescription. Fix the classpath then try rebuilding this project.
    I tried repair and rebuild - and restared NWDS (and even restarted my PC).
    Issue not resolved.
    What else should I do?
    Thanks!

  • GP, callable object Web Dynpro Application (bespoke) not appearing in list

    Hey y'all
    We're developing our first GP, and we would like to call an existing bespoke Web Dynpro. When creating the callable object, we're selecting type Web Dynpro Application, but our Web Dynpro screen is not appearing in the drop down list on the next page. We think that this is because the application has been deployed to a different server (i.e. it has not been deployed onto the portal server).
    So the question is, has anyone faced this problem before, and is there a solution?
    Kind regards
    Jon

    Hi John,
    Please have a look at this Exception on creating GP Action
    This will solve your issue definitively. Do not take care of a given SDA, just redeploy everything and make sure that everything is overwritten by selecting the right option.
    Best regards,

  • Web Dynpro Callable Object : use of RFCs

    Hi All,
    I've to create a callable object using Web dynpro.
    In this web dynpro to display a table data populated by calling RFC and we need to select one row of the table and sent it as output parameter.
    My question is how we gonna set the getDescription Method in this case for creating the Callable Object?
    How we define the execute Method in the Interface Controller.
    Where I should bind the Model to Controller (Component Controller / Interface Controller)
    Can someone explain how we gonna use RFC in Web dynpro while calling it as Callable Object.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    You need to have the SCs for local development of Web Dynpro callable object.
    Refer the following documents for more details:

  • Parameter Mapping with RFC Callable Object not working

    Hi Folks
    Scenario
    I have a process scenario like this
    Interactive Form Callable Object A -triggers> Process [Interactive Form Callble Object B -> Interactive Form Callble Object C -> RFC Callable Object ]
    All the forms A, B, C use same form template, different sections of it lets say i, j and k are filled by different guys.
    Now my parameter mappings are as follows -
    a) Page level meeting between B & C called P Map.
    b) Process parameter mapping with Form A and appropriate section of P Map lets say section i
    c) fields of Form C are mapped to RFC callable object fields
    Problem
    The data filled in Form A [section i] disappears when I open and see the Form B.
    If I remove the mappings of fields of Form C with RFC callable objec fields, I am able to see it.
    Has anyone faced it before!

  • How to enable disable result status of callable object in Guided Procedures

    hi,
    Currently we are using guided procedures to handle Life Event changes in ESS. Each process has sequential block with Respective actions and callable object assigned to each action.
    Most of the callable objects we are using are either standard Java Webdynpro screens that came with ESS business package or custom ABAP Webdynpro's. When we created callable objects with these web dynpro's there is tab that sets result status like "Complete", "Exit" etc.
    The issue we are currently facing with result status is, there is no way that control is passed to result status enabled for specific step of guided procedure from the callable object. For example we created callable object for Benefits enrollment screen with result status "Complete". When user initiated guided procedure to make changes to Benefits enrollment, make changes to plans and click save. Once User click Save we want to send control to result status to get enable, till then we don't want the "Complete" button to be enabled on the Guided procedure step.
    Is there way to control the result status button based on the action performed by user in respective screen/step of Guided Procedure?
    Could someone suggest is there better replacement for guided procedures where I can use some other framework/process to achieve better functionality than GP's.
    Thanks
    Ravi.

  • Cannot use DSUB function in Business Logic Callable Object

    Hi sdners! I am trying to create a Business Logic Callable Object, that compares a date and actual date. I used DSUB like this:
    DSUB(DVAL(DSTR(NOW(),'DATE')),DVAL(DSTR(@beginning_date,'DATE')),'D')
    @beginning_date is of type Date. DSUB should return how many days passed between actual date and @beginning_date. However, when I test it using Test tab, it returns 0 (zero). I tried using this also with same result:
    DSUB(NOW(),@beginning_date,'D')
    DSUB(NOW(),@beginning_date,'DD')
    DSUB(@beginning_date,NOW(),'D')
    DSUB(DVAL(DSTR(NOW(),'DATE')),DVAL(DSTR(@beginning_date,'DATE')),'DD')
    DSUB('5/05/2009','1/20/2009','D')
    DSUB(5/05/2009,1/20/2009,'D')
    Does anyone know what should I do to get it solved??

  • Problem in Business Logic Callable Object execution

    Hi All,
    We are working on a workflow scenario where 2 approvals are present. Second approval is optional.
    Second approval is required or not is decided by a business logic callable object.
    This callable object is assigned (user role0 to initiator.
    Issue is, when first approval is completed, flow goes to business logic callable object. A UWL entry comes in initiators inbox. And from there, flow doesn't move forward. It simply shows message 'The next activity is not yet available: try again later using the "Refresh" button".
    I have tested this business logic callable object individually, and it works fine.
    But in process, it doesn't move further.
    What can be the solution to this?
    Thanks,
