Caller display ringtone query

I have a Paragon 650 BT phone.  I recently had caller display set-up and all the calls that are in my phone book have a different ringtone to any other incoming calls.  Is there a way to change the ringtone as this is both hideous and loud, I cannot find a way of changing the ringtone for these calls.  Please help.

You can change ringtones. See p41 in the User Guide here: http://btsupport.custhelp.com/ci/fattach/get/1545644/1262875163/redirect/1/session/L2F2LzEvdGltZS8xM...

  • Caller Display query

    Hi there
I currently get Caller Display free as long as I make a number of chargeable calls within a given period, but I see that it will be changing in the new year, and will only be free (for a year) if you sign up for the 12 month contract.
However, I signed up for a 12 month contract in March this year and so have a few months of the current contract left. I've already decided that I'll sign up again when this contract ends. Do I/will I qualify for the free Caller Display?
    Thanks.

    Ectophile wrote:
No.  You need to agree to a new 12 month contract starting in January.
I also re-contracted in March.  My intention is to just pay the charge for a couple of months, then phone up Customer Options and tell them thay need to give me a better deal than last year to make up for the price increases.
Thanks for your reply, Ectophile. I did think it likely was an offer to lure in new contract customers.
I'll do what you're going to do, and see if I can get them to throw it in when I renew. Otherwise I'm cancelling Caller Display altogether after March.

  • Caller Display/BT Answer 1571 charges

Unbeknownst to me, Caller Display and BT Answer 1571 have been free since 2005 yet BT have been charging me £3.50/month (slighlty less before price increases) so I have been paying unnessarily for 9 years! I queried this with them and they said £1.75 of it was for BT Answer 1571 which I don't recall ever signing up to and does not appear anywhere on my bill. All that appears on my bill is £3.50 for Caller Display. How was I supposed to know I had 1571 and had been paying for it?!?
It is a really deceitful way of getting money out of their customers because I presumably didn't specifically tell them I would now like it free instead of paying for it.
I signed up to Caller Display about 17 years ago when it was chargeble but would have expected them to drop the charge in 2005 when it became free for everyone else, silly me.
BTW I have now cancelled it and signed up to BT Privacy for 12 months so am now getting it free. This doesn't help me recoup the £100's I lost though!
Hope this post at least helps someone else pick up on it.

They started charging for this service for all customers at the start of this year,

  • Is Caller Display free or not free for 12 months?

When BT announced there would be a charge of £1.75 pm for Caller Display, they also stated this service would be free for 12 months if the subscriber renewed their contract for one year. i rang BT and agreed to take up the offer.
I have looked at the past 2 bills and they have the following line entries. Here's the latest bill, word for word:
    1. BT Privacy at Home - Caller Display   28 Apr - 27 May 14
This is the cost of your BT Privacy at Home - Caller Display up to 27 May 2014 at £1.75 a month    £1.75
    2. BT Privacy with Caller Display free for 12 months 28 Apr - 27 May 14   £0.00
I queried the £1.75 charge shown on line 1. via BT online webchat and here's BT's response, again word for word:
"BT Privacy With Caller Display is free but for BT Privacy at Home you will be charged £1.75"
You will notice that in their reply they have omitted 'Caller Display' after 'at Home' although the bill clearly shows this at line 1. above.
Can somebody please tell me should I be paying £1.75 a month? If this is so then will line 2. revert to a further £1.75 after the 12 month's expiry which will mean £3.50 a month in total'.
I just thought as a simpleton that I was getting Caller Display entirely free for 12 months by signing a new contract. Maybe life is not that simple?

john46: You state "to put it very simply the 1.75 is charged on one line and credited back on the next line".
Well it isn't. Had there had been such a credit on the bill I would not have raised a bill query with BT or this forum.
Below is my total bill where you can see I have no credit shown. It all adds up to £34.50 including the £1.75 Caller Display fee.
I cannot get a reply out of BT or even an acknowledgement to my email querying the charge. What do you suggest I do? Send a specific mail giving them 7 days' notice that I will cancel the Direct Debit and send a cheque less the missing credits, if I don't receive a satisfactory answer?
Your reply and those of the 2 other respondents now confirm that there should be a credit line of £1.75.
Whatever happens you have proven BT owes me £1.75 for each month this has occurred. May I therefore use your name and your answer in a further email to BT? It will be interesting to see if that prompts a response.

  • How to call a BI Query (side panel) with selections provided by "tags"?

With regards to my previous post (has anyone already successfully integrated their own BI report in a side panel?) we're still not there yet. What we actually would like to do is call a BI Query in the side panel and have the variable for that report filled automatically via "wiring" (using a tag).
Basically we have a BI Query on a Transient Provider which "calculates" a couple of key figures with regards to a document number (shipment). The reason being before a shipment is to be "sent out" it should meet a couple of requirements (which are not immediately visible within the standard screens) concerning (sales) value, weight, etc...
We have successfully "tagged" the shipment number in the transactions concerned (VT01N - VT03N). Now, as per my previous post if we just add the BI Query as an analytic list component (WDC_BS_ANLY_LIST_ALV) we seem to be getting errors (as the variable is not passed on). To avoid the error, we have added a search component (FPM_SEARCH_UIBB).
So, now we get a "selection screen" in which we manually need to fill a shipment number and when we do, the results are correctly displayed.
Obviously, we would like to have this "variable" assignment to be done automatically via the tag.
    What are we missing here?

found this document on using the FPM_SEARCH_UIBB http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f07c2765-4ee8-2e10-759b-ea7429a430bb?QuickLink=index&…
if only such a (extremely detailed) document would exits on passing on the "tag" to the BI query variable (as that is not as straight forward)

  • How to call both xacute query and xml query inside a single applet

    Hi,
I am very new to XMII. Trying with a simple exercises now.
    1.  I have a Business Logic Transaction which will call external application using web services then it will get an output as xml and storing it in C:\.
    2. Then I created one xacute query which will call the transaction
    3. Then I created a xml query that will read the xml in c:\ and I too created a visual display template(ichart)  for it
    4. Created a html file -- created a applet , called all the 3 inside it. NOt getting any graph in IE
    5. But if I call only xml query and display query its working

    </html>
    6. In POTxnTemplate -- calling Transaction BL
In POTemplate -- fetching xml from c:\
In POVisual -- displaying the ichart (using POTemplate)
Can any one help me with this?
I am doing in the right path?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Murugappan.

    Hello,
You can only enter one query template into an applet.  Use the xacute query template.  In the transaction assign the output of the web services results to a transaction property of type xml making sure you select the "Output Parameter?" option.  These results will need to be in xMII format.  Then open the xacute query template and verify that the output parameter you created is selected as an Output on the transaction tab.

I have line rental with BT, the unlimited weekend plan. And calls and broadband with Orange. I am charged £7.77 a quarter by BT for Caller Display. • Creating a print button to call a Report Query and pass filters

If i use the REPORT QUERY option in APEX 4 to create an statement that is the same one used in an interactive report, can I create a link or button to the REPORT QUERY and pass all the session and filter information from the interactive report to the report query?
This way I can have the interactive report screen where the user can do all sorts of modifications and such and then pass those to the REPORT QUERY so I can call that from a custom link or button.
You may ask "why does he need another print button?"
Answer: I am using a view that has some embedded HTML tags to format the output really nicely. The HTML download version created by the interactive reports works beautifully. The customer also wants a PDF version (meh) which does not render the HTML tags and actually echos them as part of the text. I found that I can create another view that uses the CHR function to create all the breaks and such I was doing with HTML and these do render properly in PDF. So, I figured just have 2 reports: 1 Interactive and 1 using a REPORT QUERY. I just want to call the REPORT QUERY version but use the Interactive Search form to set all the parameters.
Or, am I over thinking this and there is an easier method?
I made a previous post where I showed how I got the APEX printing to work and i hoped that helped someone out - fixing this issue would put the whole thing to rest.
    Thanks

Is BI Publisher desktop (MS Word add-in) a possibility? This would allow you to use MS Word to create your output template (RTF) that would result in a properly formatted PDF. Of course, you'd have to right an updated version of the query without HTML embedded. Just thinking outside of the box.

  • Registering for Caller Display. Do I need to?

    Quick history:
Mod on this forum arranges new deal for me for combined Infinity/Call package.
I agree to new deal on condition that I get everything on my account as it was.
New contract starts (Broadband/Calls/Line Rental) on 10th of September 2013.
My Call Package includes BT Privacy, etc. at no extra cost. See pic below...
A few days later news breaks that BT intend to start charging for the same calling features.
I write to the Mod asking if I will have to start paying the fee for these services. He doesn't reply. Eventually I get a reply (obviously automated) telling me the info is on the website, and links to same.
I write back asking for a proper reply to my question; this time I get a reply from 'Yunus', but it doesn't answer the question, (he only confirms that line rental will go up 6.4%), so I try other means.
I use the price increase checker linked to on the other thread here; it tells me the Infinity/Calls Package will go up, but there is no mention of any changes to my Calling Features prices.
I try Live Chat; holy sh!t, these people are useless! Are they paid to just tell you want to hear?
    First guy tells me 'no increase' in any of my prices';
second guy says line rental going up, Infinity going up, but caller features package will not go up as they were included free in the package I signed up for with the Mod here
third, it's a girl; she says everything will go up, and if I choose to leave I need to pay a full year's charges for cancelling.
Plainly, they are not all correct.
All I want to know is, what is going up? When? Do I have to sign up/pre-register for this free year's Caller Display thing? Won't that mean my contracts for BB/Calls, and Line Rental will have different end dates?
I have read the big long thread about the rises, so do not require a repeat of the answers given there as most of them contradict each other anyway, just like Live Chat.
It would be helpful to get a reply from a Mod (preferably the one who signed me up to this new contract in the first place) and not from any of the BT 'groupies'.
    Thanks.
Incidentally, I've not had any letter or e-mail informing me of the price rises at all.

    Been there, done that!
Also spoke to Live Chat - pretty useless!
    My questions were:
    What else will go up?
Will I start being charged for caller display, etc. when they are clearly included free as part of the package I agreed to sign up for with your colleague?
Do I have to sign up/pre-register to get it for free when BT do start charging?
Will this mean my Line Rental and BB/Calls contracts will have different end dates?
I only want a straight answer to my questions; Customer Service have so far given me 5 different answers.

  • Caller display not worked since June 2014

On 26/06/14 I reported a fault (VOL-**********) that the caller display function had stopped working following a thunderstorm in the area. According to the fault status this fault is showing as being corrected and closed on 02/07/14 when in fact the fault still exists. I tested the line using the BT test socket with a new BT2000 phone and this displayed ‘incoming call’ therefore my internal wiring is not part of the problem. I have also dialled the test code *#234# to check if the caller display service is available and confirmed that it is. I then tested the new BT2000 phone on the neighbour’s telephone line and this showed the caller ID for incoming calls, as did my other telephone as well; therefore none of the telephone handsets are at fault. Three times BT have informed me that the fault has been fixed and yet I still have no caller display. Reading through the forums it would appear that other people have encountered similar issues and that the problem is at the exchange, “An Openreach engineer discovered that the RS232 burst transferring the CLI number up the line was too weak and he then went down to the exchange to investigate. He then discovered that the fault lay in the ADSL device which lies between the analogue exchange equipment and the outgoing line”.
I’m surprised to see that BT are taking so long to trace a fault in their system last raised 5/8/2014 (VOL012-**********) and that they haven’t sent an engineer to the property or to the exchange to check the problem.
My patience is wearing thin over this problem with my Caller Display not working as it started in mid June. I’m also becoming less enthusiastic about BT and find it harder to recommend them to others.
My last message from BT, tells me that it should be back to normal on the 8 August. However, it is still not working. Their message that my phone should be back to normal now and if it isn’t report this to BT, is ridiculous. If an engineer had investigated what was causing the fault and found it, then he would have fixed it. However, either an engineer has not investigated the fault or BT is not competent in fixing their own service faults and makes these statements with crossed fingers?

An engineer called yesterday and told me that he had been asked to test the line for a voice fault not a Caller Display fault. However, his testing revealed there is no line fault, CLI signal is strong and he was happy that the new BT2000 phone (bought after the lightning strike) is working properly. (This phone had also been tested on a neighbour’s phone line where it displayed the callers number). He also found that this same BT2000 phone on my line was not displaying the Caller’s number (CLI), but couldn’t offer any reason why.
I conjectured with him that these tests must bring the problem down to a corrupted CLI signal which does not allow the phone to understand the phone number being sent.
When the lightning struck the phone line back in June, it blew the telephone connection in the back of the Sky Box with a flash and bang (telephone cable now removed from the Sky box). It shorted the Openreach Faceplate (now replaced) so that the phones and broadband stopped working and it caused the phone to light up and react as it does when a call comes through.
Now isn’t it possible that the lightning also travelled along the copper wire to the green cabinet just outside the house and damaged something there which is corrupting the CLI signal, but which does not not show up when the voice line is tested? If not, then there must be a problem further back in the infrastructure, possibly in the Exchange, that is causing a corrupted signal to be sent to my phone?
He told me that another team would have to investigate the Caller Display fault as he was instructed to look into a voice issue and as a field engineer he was not able to investigate any problem that might be in the Exchange. I don’t know whether this Exchange Team would be able to investigate a problem in the Cabinet if nothing is found in the Exchange or can that only be done by a field engineer? He told me to contact BT again as he’d done all that he had been instructed to do and they would have to instigate a fault team to further investigate the problem.
When all this is considered we have the basic problem that BT are unable to provide me with a Privacy and Caller Display Service that I have been paying for, because of a fault in their infrastructure. How much longer is it going to take before they correct the problem that’s been going on since June 2014?

  • Infoobject in infoset but not displaying in query designer

    Hi,
    I have created a query on infoset(ods1 & ods2).
a custum defined infoobject (fiscyr) is not displaying in query designer while it is present in infoset.
pls give your inputs, for why this infoobject is not available in query designer.
    Thanks
    Radika

    Hi Radika,
I cannot think of anything other than the solutions already mentioned in this thread (checking the IOBJ in infoset, running RSISET and activating it). I just had a foolish idea that you might not be looking for the right IOBJ. All the IOBJs from an infoset are not displayed with their original technical names in the query designer. They are disdplayed in the format: <infoset_technical_name>_FXXXXX where XXXXX is a number.
Also try one more thing. Go to transaction RSISET and type in the technical name of the infoset there.
Right below the box where you type the Infoset name is a check button. Check your Infoset there and then activate it from within the RSISET transaction (the activate button is right after the check button). With Infosets, sometimes just activating it from within RSA1 does not work but RSISET always seems to work.
Do this and see if it helps.
    Thanks & regards,
    Nikhil

Hi, what you are trying accomplish is known as pagination.
You could use JSTL tags with Custom Tags to perform pagination in your JSP pages.
evnafets showed me DisplayTags , you could use those as well http://displaytag.sourceforge.net/11/tut_externalSortAndPage.html
