  • Calling graph from Reports created in graphics builder?

    Can you call a graph from Reports 6.0 that was created in Graphics Builder. I know you can call a graph from Forms. I tried creating my graph right in Reports with the wizard but for some reason it does not give me the fields I want to use in the available fields column, so I created the graph in Graphics Builder. Do you use a trigger of some sort. Any examples would be appreciated if this is possible. Thanks

    Justin Beno:
    Yes, you can call a graph from inside a report. All you need to do is select the button with the graph on it (not the icon with the wand, which indicates chart wizard). Then draw graph in the area of the report where you want the graph to display. After completing this, right click on graph, select Property Palette, Chart - Chart Filename (this is where you will type in the directory and filename of your graph that you created in Oracle Graphics).

  • FRM-10242:  Cannot call linked-in Forms from Form Builder. error

    FRM-10242: Cannot call linked-in Forms from Form Builder.
    Cause: The menu designer specified a call to linked-in Forms from within Form Builder.
    Action: Notify your DBA.
    does anyone know why this happens.
    I have this main-menu.. and when i click on one of the submenus which should call the form....i get this error.

    Same issue here... Been trying to get this working since a week now. I tried all the solutions like memory heap and all but no luck.
    One thing that I would like to know is that, in some threads the resolution was to recompile the INS_FORMS.MK file under /forms/lib32 but with my installation I don't have that "lib32" folder under /forms/ and I can not even find that file anywhere in my entire installation.
    I am using 12.1.1 on Windows Server 2008.
    Any help or guidelines is greatly appreciated.

    Hi there,
    Most of the things do not come for free. You need to spend some effort in order to obtain results.
    Check run_product, run_report_object built-in.
    Also, download the documentation library and go through:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/devsuite.html
    The example of how to use the run_product directly from the book "Oracle Forms Developer Form Builder Reference, Volume 1 - Release 6i.pdf":
    RUN_PRODUCT examples
    ** Built-in: RUN_PRODUCT
    ** Example: Call a Report Builder report, passing the
    ** data in record group ’EMP_RECS’ to substitute
    ** for the report’s query named ’EMP_QUERY’.
    ** Presumes the Emp_Recs record group already
    ** exists and has the same column/data type
    ** structure as the report’s Emp_Query query.
    PROCEDURE Run_Emp_Report IS
    pl_id ParamList;
    BEGIN
    ** Check to see if the ’tmpdata’ parameter list exists.
    349
    pl_id := Get_Parameter_List(’tmpdata’);
    ** If it does, then delete it before we create it again in
    ** case it contains parameters that are not useful for our
    ** purposes here.
    IF NOT Id_Null(pl_id) THEN
    Destroy_Parameter_List( pl_id );
    END IF;
    ** Create the ’tmpdata’ parameter list afresh.
    pl_id := Create_Parameter_List(’tmpdata’);
    ** Add a data parameter to this parameter list that will
    ** establish the relationship between the named query
    ** ’EMP_QUERY’ in the report, and the record group named
    ** ’EMP_RECS’ in the form.
    Add_Parameter(pl_id,’EMP_QUERY’,DATA_PARAMETER,’EMP_RECS’);
    **Pass a Parameter into PARAMFORM so that a parameter dialog
    will not appear
    **for the parameters being passing in.
    Add_Parameter(pl_id, ’PARAMFORM’, TEXT_PARAMETER, ’NO’);
    ** Run the report synchronously, passing the parameter list
    Run_Product(REPORTS, ’empreport’, SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME,
    FILESYSTEM, pl_id, NULL);
    END;
    Hope it helps,

  • REP 110 & REP 0110 .calling reports from Form 10g(10.1.2.0.2)

    Hi All,
    We are migrating form from Oracle form 6i to Oracle 10g(10.1.2.0.2). I am calling reports from forms

    We want to run reports from UNIX. After using this url to submit report we get error REP 110 and REP 0110

    Hello,
    You are mixing 2 separators in the URL : & and +
    Use only one separator in the URL :
    Example :
    http://GEM:7777/reports/rwservlet?server=rep_server+report=/u01/forms/QA_Forms10g/GEMREP.rdf+DESTYPE=CACHE+DESFORMAT=HTML+p_user_id=XYZ+p_client=2

    So I will give U the solution :
    U must use Visual Basic.
    Indeed u need VB to call an ocx object correctelly.
    In forms u must create a document .ini that pass in parameter the dsn connection of ur forms, the sql clause, and the reportfilename.
    If U want I can give U the utility creata in VB, and all the councils for u to manage using Crystal reports.

  • Can't run form from Form Builder 10g - Port configuration problem?

    Hi,
    I have installed the Database (10.2.0.1.0) and the Developer Suite (10.1.2.0.2) on two Linux machines (Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 4 Basic).
    If I enter the frmservlet-URL manually everything seems to be fine.
    In one case I enter http://127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet, in the other http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet; in BOTH cases I get eventually a dark square and the status bar says "Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main started".
    HOWEVER, if I create a simple form with Form Builder and click on the Button with the green traffic light ("Run Form"), the form runs only on the machine where frmservlet listens on port 8890.
    On the other machine (frmservlet configured to listen on port 8889) Firefox pops up, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:32979/6dOrpwghCqnp8PhMT7KVT533m3IaArqFbPqPBOztZXWYSsNy" gets called, and nothing else happens. The screen displays the string "ORACLE FORMS." and the status bar says "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...", and it stays like this forever.
    I assume this is a port configuration problem, but I don't have a clue where to start.
    Any suggestions how I should proceed are greatly appreciated.
    Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi Frank,
    Thank you for your reply.
    I doublechecked my configuration.
    In the dialog Edit --> Preferences --> Runtime the Application Server URL is set to "127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet".
    However, when I attempt to run the form, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:33140/W2dwbV9eXS2fPkuKlxNhCxFWdEihwDviat2uV7ycrSotqwDN" gets called.
    The screen displays the string "ORACLE FORMS." and the status bar says "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...", and that's it.
    I wonder how the port number 33140 got selected. Interestingly, this time it is a different number; last time it was port 32979. In fact, the port number seems to change each time; I tried again and now it is 33189.
    I will now try to set the port number for the frmservlet to 8890.
    I choose Edit --> Preferences --> Runtime and set the application server URL to "127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet".
    I stop the container, open /home/oracle/OraHome_1/j2ee/DevSuite/config/default-web-site.xml and change the port number to 8890:
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone='yes'?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-site PUBLIC "Oracle Application Server 10g XML Web-site" "http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/dtds/web-site.dtd">
    <!-- change the host name below to your own host name. Localhost will -->
    <!-- not work with clustering -->
    <!-- also add cluster-island attribute as below
    <web-site host="localhost" port="0" protocol="ajp13"
    display-name="Default Oracle Application Server 10g Java WebSite" cluster-island="1" >
    -->
    <web-site port="8890" protocol="http"
    display-name="Oracle Developer Suite 10g instance of Oracle Containers for J2EE Web Site">
    <!-- Uncomment the following line when using clustering -->
         <!-- <frontend host="your_host_name" port="80" /> -->
         <!-- The default web-app for this site, bound to the root -->
         <default-web-app application="default" name="defaultWebApp" root="/j2ee" />
    <!-- Do not delete this line. -->
    <web-app application="forms" name="formsweb" root="/forms" />
    <!-- -->
    <!-- <web-app application="forms" name="formsweb" root="/forms" /> -->
    <web-app application ="reports" name="web" root="/reports" />
    <web-app application = "reports" name="demo" root="/repdemo" />
         <!-- Access Log, where requests are logged to -->
         <access-log path="../log/default-web-access.log" />
    </web-site>
    I restart the container, start Form Builder, connect to the database, and open my test form.
    When attempting to run the form, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:33437/Pl0n3ky9vmU5z37A7ScBnQhsGwq3jwuzJpgTAKWPMOYIzT8K" gets called (again a new port number, apparently picked radomly within a certain range) and nothing happens: "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...".
    However, when I enter the URL http://127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet I do (eventually, after confirming that I trust the certificate etc.) get a darc rectangle and the status message "Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main started", which tells me that my setup can't be that far off target.

  • How to call ejb from Forms?

    Hi.
    I have an existing form (version 11.1.2.0.0) and an existing ejb. Both are running on a WebLogic server version 10.3.5.0. I want to call the ejb from the form (I know that this is not recommended, but in this case it is the only sensible solution). I have tried searching the web but I have not been able to find anything about this except some broken links.
    Can somebody please explain how to do this or show me some documentation or tutorial?
    Regards,
    Sveinung
    Edited by: SvSig on Aug 7, 2012 11:52 PM

    Let's skip the fact that you are asking about an EJB and instead talk about what options are available to call out to any external app or component. Here are some of the options:
    <blockquote>1. To make calls from the client machine to any web server (HTTP listener) you can use WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT. This command simply passes a url to a browser. No return information is passed back into the running form.
    2. To make calls from the client machine to almost any process on the client side, including the OS directly, you would need to create a java bean and integrate it into your form. Whether or not you get return information will depend on how you write the bean and to what you are calling.
    3. To make calls from the server side (mid tier) part of a running form to an external application or component on the same mid tier you can use the HOST command. This executes a shell command. Although specific information cannot be returned (i.e. return values), you can get pass or fail results.
    4. To call out to java applications on the mid tier you can import java code into your Forms application using the Forms Java Importer. This will give you a direct connection to the java application both in and out.</blockquote>
    All of the above examples are explained in the Forms Builder online help. There are other options which are explained in the Forms Deployment Guide
    <blockquote>http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24269_01/doc.11120/e24477/toc.htm</blockquote>
    Look specifically at chapters 6-8
    <blockquote><li>6 Oracle Forms and JavaScript Integration
    <li>7 Enhanced Java Support
    <li>8 Working with Server Events</blockquote>
    Summary
    <blockquote><li>WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT
    <li>HOST
    <li>Java Bean
    <li>Imported Java</blockquote>

  • Desname parameter works fine in Report builder but fails in Forms builder

    Hi,
    I need some help with my current task. Here is my problem.
    I am working on Oracle 10g. My reports and Forms builder version is 10.1.2.3.0.
    My objective is to use Forms builder to call a report which will direct the output directly to the printer without preview.
    First , in report builder , I use the Parameter Form builder and set Report parameter DESTYPE = PRINTER and the DESNAME automatically changes to PCL6 ( which is the network printer name I am using).
    When I run the report , the output is directed to the printer and it works just fine.
    But in Forms builder , when I call the same report, set the DESTYPE as Printer and DESNAME as 'PCL6' , it gives an error Invalid printer name 'PCL6' specified by parameter DESNAME.
    I tried searching in this forum, it says the error is due to an invalid printer name specified in the DESNAME. But if my printer name is invalid, I wonder how the same printer name works well in Report builder?
    My coding in Forms as below :
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY( repid, REPORT_DESTYPE,PRINTER);
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY( repid, REPORT_DESNAME,'PCL6');
    Appreciate if anyone can help. Thanks
    Regards
    Shiva

    Hi Puppethead,
    I have tried with your suggestions.
    the following condition -- did not work
    ( (mgr_name = :manager name)
    OR (mgr_name LIKE DECODE(:manager name, 'ALL', '%', NULL)))
    but for the other condition ---
    ( (mgr_name = :manager name)
    OR (mgr_name LIKE DECODE(nvl(:manager name, 'ALL'), 'ALL', '%', NULL)))
    is wrong because, :manager name cud be null, when it is null, it takes 'ALL' i.e. '%' which shud not be the case.
    if the user enters null, it has to display records with null only but with the above condition it takes '%'
    The main issue which i dont understand is, the report works fine for the first time. for the second time, the report takes null values . why is it taking null values for the second time.
    Thanks

  • Xml Form Builder HTML Editor

    Hi All,
    In my xml form builder application, i have to insert an image inside the UI "HTML Editor". But there is no option called as "insert image from km" into the HTML Editor? How can i have that option called "Insert Image From KM" ?
    I tried "configuration of the HTML editor" in
    Knowledge Management  Content Management  Utilities  Editing  HTML Editing.
    I enabled the option "Allow Images". Then too it is not reflecting in HTML Editor UI.
    What else can be done for getting that property on HTML Editor UI?
    Thanx and Regards,
    Divya

    Hi,
    My understanding is that the standard HTML editor control from SAP is quite limited. You can copy and paste an image into it (but the image has to already be in KM) - it has no nice control for selecting or positioning the image....
    Some options:
    1. There are options like TinyMCE which I belive can be used in place of the standard HTML editor control.
    2. If the structure of the content on you page is fixed then you could add images into the form as images that the user would provide links for - but this is not as free form as you would maybe like.
    Hope this helps,
    Simon
